Ep 235E235: How Aware of Your Past Are You? An Interview with Dr Jeff Williamson

Life is all about connection and in this engaging episode Pete speaks to Dr Jeff Williamson, a coach and teacher who has always looked to make a sincere and authentic connection with people. Currently Dr Williamson runs his own executive coaching practice, teaches and feels like he is exactly where he is supposed to be right now. KEY TAKEAWAYS Dr Williamson has spent time in the classroom teaching, in management, as a dean and so much more. He loves to develop others and see them learn whether that is in structured learning or just part of their life journey. Everything that Dr Williamson has done up to now built the foundations to build what he has. It was all supposed to happen and form part of his journey. Executive coaching is about asking the individual what they are struggling with and what they want help with. It’s then Dr Williamson’s job to help them in any way that he can. It is difficult for people to not let fear hold them back, but if we can become aware of what is causing our self-doubt we can start to combat it and truly free ourselves from this fear. So many of the problems found in our personal lives and is businesses are down to poor communication. What are the things only you can do and what are the things others can do for you? If you can figure this out it can help prevent overwhelm in your life and allow you to have better balance. BEST MOMENTS “Mentoring is a little more driven by personal growth” “I am exactly where I’m supposed to be” “There has to be a time where you say here are the 8 things that are do-or-dies for me” ABOUT THE GUEST Dr Jeff Williamson ABOUT THE HOST The ‘Mighty Pete Lonton’ from the ‘Mighty 247’ company is your main host of ‘Fire In The Belly’. Ep 234E234: We All Have Different Life Changing Moments - James McGrath Interview

In this sincere, engaging and emotive episode, Pete speaks to mentor and entrepreneur James McGarth. They discuss trauma, authenticity and why James healing from suicidal thoughts created the path and journey he finds himself on now. KEY TAKEAWAYS James has always had an urge and desire to help others. He worked in a school but after being made redundant and dealing with some personal challenges he became a mentor. Nowadays he helps people deal and work with their emotions as well as going into schools to help children in a similar way. When James was 29, he contemplated suicide, thankfully he worked on his spiritual journey and healed. He now wants to help as many people as possible, he is a great believer that all humans go through pain, fear and doubt. We just have to figure out how to deal with these difficult parts of life. We all have different life changing moments, it’s about perception, acceptance and how we choose to deal with the emotions surrounding them that decides how life carries on for us afterwards. For James, he learnt that there are things that happen in our lives but it is up to use whether we accept them as negative and positive and how they impact us. Authenticity and to live an authentic life is very important to James. Being true to himself and his values is a true measure of success for him. BEST MOMENTS “I’m a mentor and i help people through their emotions” “In that moment I found my heartbeat, I almost grabbed myself from falling” “We all have different life changing moments” “We must protect our garden…weeds can creep in” ABOUT THE GUEST James McGarth ABOUT THE HOST The ‘Mighty Pete Lonton’ from the ‘Mighty 247’ company is your main host of ‘Fire In The Belly’. Ep 233E233: “I Want To Read From My Heart” - Nina Aouilk Interview.

Professional speaker, author and advocate for mental health Nina Aouilk joins the show to discuss her childhood and how she hopes to reach those living in fear all around the world. Together they discuss freedom is a luxury to many people, how society often blames the victim and the power of manifestation. KEY TAKEAWAYS Freedom is such a luxury to some people that many people do not understand that simple tasks such as painting nails are often taken for granted as others are not allowed to do so. Many people who do not have freedom do not know any difference, so to them, it becomes their normality. Some cultures see women as a problem because their families fear that they will fall pregnant or fall in love. Families do not value the love that a daughter can give or the value a daughter can bring into their lives. Sometimes you have to understand that it is not selfish to do what is best for you and your family. Many people want to break out and change things but their parents are trying to bring them back in. Society teaches us that we should have a certain type of colour skin, a certain type of hair and make victims of abuse feel as though they have done something wrong. Whereas they are the ones who need the most love. We all have different parts of our personalities. Certain times will change that person in a way. You can have anything you want in the world, literally anything. You will not know when it will come because the timings do not always work out the way that you want it. The right thing will happen to you in the end. BEST MOMENTS “I have been reliving my past, but I’ve never held onto it.” “I don’t have that fear in me. The fear that was in me, I let go of it.” “I have such fierce determination.” “I didn’t want to read from a script I wanted to read from my heart.” ABOUT THE GUEST I am Nina Aouilk, a professional speaker, TEDx speaker and author. Ep 232E232: “The Prize In All Of This, Is The Beauty Of Getting There” - Kyle Sullivan Interview

Former church pastor and founder of coaching company ‘Unleash The Champ’, Kyle Sullivan joins the show today to share how he has helped people and churches evaluate and expand possibilities and execute at levels once only seen in dreams. Together they discuss how there is always a gap between where you are and where you could be, why failure is not scary and the beauty in everybody having different views. KEY TAKEAWAYS We can be content with our lives but not satisfied. There is always a gap between where you are and where you could be, especially in those people who have big visions. Ask yourself, ‘what needs to die in you to become the person the person you said you’d become?’ As you close the gap of your awareness, vision and perception now, it is going to expand again. It is always expanding because as we get to new levels, increased vision happens and you want to reach the next step. The prize in life is enjoying the journey. Failure is not scary, but what is scary is who you have to become to achieve the success that you see with your eyes closed. There may be relationships that you hold dear right now, that may not be in your life in ten years. You have to sell out to the vision that is in your head. Reaching a place where you understand that things may change to reach where you want to go means you need to know the things that you will no longer tolerate in your life. Then you have to analyse your life and see if they are in alignment with what you need to tolerate, if they aren’t, then you have to change things. The change is difficult. We are all so different in life, and that is so beautiful. Everybody's views are different and it is beautiful to hear all their stories and how this manifests itself to forming their viewpoints. We’re so easily offended in our world today that if we could lay down the offence and see what has been said, we would realise we are all human. If we could just get back to the belief that we are human and have a baseline level of respect for one another, we would probably see things in the world change. BEST MOMENTS “We can be content but not satisfied.” “I’m content with the journey because I understand that the prize of all of this is in the process of getting there.” “I’ve been reminded about how different we all are.” “To love you have got to respect, you have got to honour.” ABOUT THE GUEST Over the past 11 years, I've had the opportunity to lead at & learn from incredible churches in Life Church & Transformation Church executing in various ministry roles. My heart for creating this type of coaching comes from understanding specific pain points of Pastors & Church Leaders to specialize in the following areas to help create a plan, process, and pathways for incredible results for churches. Ep 231E231: “My Mission Is To Bring Joy Back To Education” - Danny Brassell Interview.

The inspirational Dr Danny Brassell joins the show today to share the reason why he dedicates his life to inspiring people around the world to achieve greater happiness in their lives as well as sharing his passion for reading. Together, they discuss how we can bring joy back into education, why it is important to look at things from other peoples’ perspectives and why you don’t have competition, only potential collaborators. KEY TAKEAWAYS It doesn't matter what you read, what matters is how much you read. It doesn't matter if you are reading James Joyce or James And The Giant Peach, people who read more will be able to read better. We will get more success with children of all ages if we base reading on their interests. Think of a book like a piece of food, if you take a bite and don’t like it then you put it down, if you don’t like the first chapter in a book you are probably not going to like the second chapter. There were over 4 million books written last year in English, don’t waste your time on a book you’re not interested in. Every person in the world has different points of view. We always look at things from our perspective. We can learn so much from other people if we just put our egos aside. You have to guard yourself, you're the same today as you'll be in five years except for two things, the people you meet and the books you read. Make sure you make wise choices by surrounding yourself with people that lift you and make sure you fill your mind with things that also build you up. You have no competition, only potential collaborators. You can talk about the same thing as somebody else but in a different way. Just because you’ve heard one song does not mean you should only listen to that one song. Everybody has their take on things. BEST MOMENTS “My mission is to bring joy back into education.” “Travel is the most important thing in education.” “you’re the same today as you'll be in five years except for two things, the people you meet and the books you read.” ABOUT THE GUEST Danny inspires audiences around the world to achieve greater performance, engagement and happiness by discovering their motivation. Ep 230E230: “I Find Myself Fascinating.” - Nick Simmonds Interview

Nick Simmonds is an experienced coach and trainer who has been coaching since 2002 who has gone on to found Dynamic Coaching. In this episode of Fire In The Belly, Nick and Pete discuss the power of the brain, the evolution of human behaviour and the importance of taking risks. KEY TAKEAWAYS There is so much we are yet to learn and yet to know. Every single generation since history began, has been at the cutting edge of knowledge. The further we have gone on the more we can look back and see with certainty, how things have happened. When we look forward to the future we can’t do that, because there is no certainty about what will happen in the future. So much of our behaviour is evolutionary. Human beings have been around for over 2.5 million years, which is about 165,000 generations. Many of these were hunter-gatherers. So much of our behaviour is dictated by our hunter-gatherer genes and conditioning. One can’t know the benefit of taking a risk. The only thing we know for certain is that we don’t know what would happen if we took the risk. How can you bring the risk down to a lower level so that it is easier to do? We’re blessed with ownership of the most complex organism in the known universe, and the irony of not being able to get our heads around how complex our brain is is mindblowing. It is so incredible, yet part of its fabric can be used against somebody. We’re all being manipulated and influenced all the time. The adverts that we’re getting and seeing what our friends like or dislike are all influential. We are only aware of what is happening to us a fraction of the time and therefore the potential that we have is huge. BEST MOMENTS “It is incredible, your brain.” “I find people fascinating and I find myself fascinating.” “The irony of not being able to get our head around how complex our brain is is mindblowing.” ABOUT THE GUEST Nick Simmonds is an experienced coach and trainer who has been coaching since 2002. With an entrepreneurial background, starting his first business at the age of 18, he knows first-hand how important it is to invest in personal development and get all members of the team working together. His coaching has been with The Coaches Training Institute, Shirlaws Business Coaching and Clean Language Coaching leading to an ILM Level 5 Business Coaching and Mentoring Qualification. Ep 229E229: “We All Want To Be Valued.” - Maureen O'Shaughnessy

Maureen O’Shaughnessy is on a mission to connect the dots between education, belonging and youth empowerment and today, she joins Pete to discuss exactly how she’s doing it. They discuss why all children should have the opportunity to discover their passion, how schools can encourage creativity and why it is important to take an active interest in children's passions. KEY TAKEAWAYS All children should have the opportunity to unpack how they learn and what their interests are. Some children feel defeated, don’t own who they are and they feel lost once they have graduated high school. If we can figure out our passions, strengths and what upsets us and put that together, we can create project-based learning to help children go after their passions. Some children who have become great at testing at school aren't good at life interacting with others or at knowing who they are. Children are then encouraged to go to college when they are unsure of their passions and people wonder why they are floundering and unhappy. Schools and families could be doing a lot to encourage children to believe they are amazing. Taking an active interest in what they are fascinated by, and spurring on their strengths can help children. Memorization is short term, using short term memory to pass tests, is that really what we want from our children? Or is there a way to level the playing fields and show lots of ways of demonstrating knowledge and lots of ways to give credit to children? The opposite of hate is love. When we are in that love zone we are seeing others with empathy and seeking to understand. When we have project-based learning, longer chunks of time and mentors we can build an empathetic community. Relationships make hard work worth it. Relationships are also win-win for students and teachers. Getting to know children over multiple years and having the ability to guide children rather than being the expert is so beautiful. BEST MOMENTS “Why would we want to kill creativity? Now more than ever we need kids creating and solving for the jam we have gotten the world in.” “We don’t find ways to nurture the ‘I am amazing’” “We all want to be valued.” ABOUT THE GUEST Maureen O’Shaughnessy is on a mission to connect the dots between education, belonging, and youth empowerment. She is the founder of the human-centred micro-school, LEADPrep. This learner-focused middle / high school is a national model for micro-schools, helping students learn from a place of love and personal alignment. Ep 228E228: “I Want To Help People Turn Their Lives Around” - Zachary Babcock Interview.

Zachary Babcock, host of top-rated Apple podcast ‘Underdog Empowerment’ joins the show to share his story of how he went from spending 5 years in prison to building a six-figure business. Together they discuss how ‘fire in the belly’ is to have a burning desire to achieve your dreams, how you can’t control what happens in life, only how you react to change and the importance of knowing when you need to ask for help. KEY TAKEAWAYS Fire in the belly is the burning feeling in you where you have the urge to go out into the world and achieve your dreams. It is not like an interest or a hobby, you are determined to go and turn your dream into a reality and make it happen no matter what odds are stacked against you. Quit blaming other people for your problems and take ownership of each and every single thing in your life. Everything that is wrong in your life, is your responsibility and everything that is right with your life is also your doing. Whilst luck may play a small part in things, you control the reality of your situation. Whilst you can’t control everything you can decide to be miserable about your life or you can choose to rebuild your life, be strong and help others that have gone through similar things. When you hit that six-figure mark, you have found financial freedom. You have the ability to create systems to remove yourself from the majority of the company so that you are able to spend your time spending quality time with those around you. Don’t let your ego get in the way of owning up to your mistakes and what you are doing to fix it. We are all human and we all make mistakes. Whenever you can share your mistakes, you have the opportunity to build stronger relationships with your audience. You are one person, and just like everybody else you only have 24 hours in a day. There is only so much you as an individual can do and eventually you will reach a point where you can no longer go forward without other people. The sooner you realise that the faster you can grow. Eliminate, automate, delegate. Look at your tasks and ask yourself if you can eliminate the task, if you can’t, ask yourself whether you can automate the process. If the task cannot be automated, delegate it to another member of staff. A business is built to serve you not you to serve it. If nobody else can do the task except you, then those are the ones to focus on. BEST MOMENTS “I learned through experience and making mistakes on how to meet the right people.” “I want to be able to offer resources to come out and be on the fast track to turning their life around.” “I definitely had imposter syndrome. I think everybody has that.” “A business is built to serve you not you to serve it.” ABOUT THE GUEST “From over 5 years in prison to building a 6 figure business, my name is Zach Babcock, and I help entrepreneurs launch, grow, and monetize top-shelf passive income businesses and personal brands.I interview celebrities and industry leaders on the top-rated Apple Podcast, Underdog Empowerment, and I have a broad perspective from both extremes of life.” https://www.zacharybabcock.com https://underdogempowerment.com ABOUT THE HOST John Paul Reilly A dyslexic businessman who left school just before his 16th birthday. Barely able to read and write, to the point that at exam time one of the teachers had to read the questions out to him (and then write down his answers in every exam). Written off like most kids who struggled at school and being told by his woodwork teacher he “was nothing and would amount to nothing” he now runs a multi award winning company in the construction industry . A loud but shy person who knew he wanted to achieve great things with no clue what business he wanted to do but knew that’s what he wanted. With his first business started at age 14, to now, he has learned most things the hard way. Now the owner of multiple business with one being multi award winning, John Paul has been in business over many years sharing what he has learned over this time mainly the hard way. Ep 227E227: “It Is A Powerful Piece.” - Jacqui Taaffe Interview.

Jacqui Taaffe, author of “Inspire, Heal, Empower: A True Story Of Finding Your Voice Breaking The Silence and Trusting One's Knowing’ joins the show today to discuss her decision to break her silence on a traumatic experience that happened to her as a young girl, and how she hopes this can inspire others to do the same. Jacqui and Pete discuss coping mechanisms, how to move forward and how her book can help others. KEY TAKEAWAYS When you have doubt, coping mechanisms can help you to have peace of mind, however, the moment the doubt is removed you can see the truth. Whether we intend to or not, we instantly arrive at the definition of a person when we give them a label. When you think of a Doctor, Teacher or Coach, you instantly conjure up a picture of what behaviour is expected of them and whether you can trust them or not. Some people will go around blaming themselves for somebody else's bad behaviour. They will suppress their talents and gifts because they have a deeply rooted belief that they are not powerful enough as a consequence of their experiences. This book will shine a light on that and see that they can make a shift in their mindset. We only get something when we have experienced something first-hand. From then, you are only going forward; you are no longer where you were. You have taken a leap and once you’ve taken that leap, the momentum starts. Having an awareness of what happened to you, what was taken from you and where you belong is important. So many people out there struggle to accept that somebody else came in and interfered with them and their life. Give that power back, that is powerful. BEST MOMENTS “If you are in trouble or if you need someone to support, I am the woman to come and do that for you.” “I inspire myself.” “It is a powerful piece. It is inspiring for a difficult subject.” “You are not your thoughts.” ABOUT THE GUEST Inspire Heal Empower: A TRUE STORY OF FINDING YOUR VOICE BREAKING THE SILENCE & TRUSTING ONE’S KNOWIN “This is my story - in 1984 at the age of 15 years old, I was admitted for an eye operation into a hospital. Whilst in hospital I was made to undergo, without my consent, what I would for many years call an inappropriate medical examination. It has taken many years for me to break the silence that surrounds that day and give what happened to me its correct title and name - sexual assault. I also share some of my writings, poems and the tools that I use and which are intended to INSPIRE, HEAL & EMPOWER others. With my life experiences and my coaching skills, I have been able to finally look at, deal with and work through the mental and emotional challenges that trauma caused. And to let it go back to who it truly belongs to, the person who chose to violate and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl. Ep 226E226: : “Entertainers Are Entrepreneurs And Entrepreneurs Should Be Entertaining.” Brimstone Interview

Professional wrestler, actor, radio host and author, Brimstone joins The Mighty Pete today to share his story and how he went from childhood actor to creating a 30-year career in the entertainment industry. Together they discuss the hard work that goes into being an entrepreneur and entertainer, the importance of owning your IP and why you should never fear failure. KEY TAKEAWAYS Entertainers are entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs should be entertaining. Entrepreneurs are working a lot harder than the people who work 9-5 often think that they are. It is not all fun and games. Don’t be afraid of failure. Failure is a huge part of success, you cannot have success without failure. When things go wrong, you learn from it and you utilise those seeds of knowledge to plant and move forward ten steps. If you fail and wallow in your failure, you have lost. Take a few steps back from the situation and evaluate what went wrong, how it went wrong and figure out what you have to do to move forward and succeed. Fire in the belly is to have determination. Your fire in the belly is also the legacy that you leave behind. You want people to remember you for years to come. Not owning your IP and your trademarks means that you could encounter some difficulties in the future if somebody decided to take your ideas. It is the equivalent of working a 9-5 for 30 years and losing your job, having nothing to show for it. BEST MOMENTS “Entertainers are entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs should be entertaining.” “If you’re not your biggest fan then nobody else will be.” “You can’t be in someone else's shoes unless you have walked in them too.” “I live my way.” ABOUT THE GUEST Brimstone has had a successful and rewarding career spanning well over three decades; participating in numerous entertainment fields boasting a list of titles including a professional wrestler, radio host, actor, voice actor, author, musician, philanthropist, food critic, horror model, and comic book/animated/children‟s book/video game hero. He's been called a Renaissance man by many, but more accurately described as an entertainment entrepreneur. Ep 225E225: “You Cannot Give What You Don’t Have.” Interview with Robert Riopel

Best selling author, podcast host and serial entrepreneur, Robert Raymond Riopel joins the show today to discuss how he has helped thousands of open-minded people take action and make their dreams become a reality. Together they discuss the importance of surrounding yourself with growth-minded people, why it is okay to be selfish sometimes and why the greatest way to have success is to be willing to accept help. KEY TAKEAWAYS If you are surrounded by people that are all complainers, you are going to be a complainer too because you are all like-minded. You want to surround yourself with growth-minded people. A growth-minded person is somebody who will be there to lift you when you stumble. They will also be the ones who are willing to have that tough conversation with you when you need it. When you are truly living your greatness, you may think you know who you are impacting but you may never fully know and you don’t have to know. When you are living your passion, there may be people being impacted by what you are doing and you don’t even realise, that is one of the greatest joys. You cannot give what you don’t have and you have to be willing to be selfish about that. If you don’t take care of yourself, how can you truly give the best you have? Pampered time is critical. Why do we think that we have to do everything on our own? As children, we are told that we need to figure things out by ourselves. No wonder we think we have to do it all by ourselves because it is ingrained into us. The greatest way to have success is to be willing to admit that you don’t know what you don’t know, find somebody good at it and get them to do that. BEST MOMENTS “I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for the ups and downs.” “I am no different than anybody else.” “You cannot give what you don’t have.” “Why do we think we have to do everything on our own?” ABOUT THE GUEST Robert Raymond Riopel is the best-selling author and podcast host of Success Left a Clue. He is also the creator of the interactive web platform and app called AmentorA. Throughout the years Robert has helped thousands of open-minded people to take action, make their dreams a reality, and be seen as an authority in their field. He believes that every person has information and value that they can share with others but most of the time they fail because they don't believe in themselves. That is why he made it his mission to be of service to others, helping them with their growth and development. Not just in their business or career but also their personal lives. Ep 224E224: “The Setback Is Just A Set Up For My Comeback.” - Mike Duffy Interview

Mike Duffy, CEO of Happiness Wealth Management and public speaker joins the Fire In The Belly podcast today to share how the loss of his mother at age 17 sent him on a journey to regaining his happiness. They discuss how life’s tragedies can often help create beautiful things, how purpose plus progress equals happiness and how the law of reciprocity can aid a long and happy marriage. KEY TAKEAWAYS Sometimes in life, it is tragedies that help create beautiful things. A lot of times in life, if you look at the silver lining, some of the hardest things that happen to you, become the greatest things that happen to you if you choose to go the right route. Purpose plus progress equals happiness. You have to identify the purposes in your life, we all have many of these. Then, as you make progress in those purposes, that is when happiness shows up. There are two types of happiness. There is platonic happiness whereby you go out and drink; take an expensive vacation or go shopping and spend a lot of money that grant you temporary happiness. Then, there is a thing called sustainable happiness, which is the happiness you get as a result of giving to others. Every year you should write down your goals. Revisit your goals during the year so that you can go back and write down the date when you achieved the goal. There is something extremely rewarding when it comes to ticking off your goals. Resilience is such an important skill for people to understand. You can either treat the bad things that have happened to you as painful or you can look at them as happening for you. Look at these situations and see how much stronger they have made you. The setback is just a set-up for your comeback. When you are in a relationship, especially a marriage, you always want to put the other person before yourself. The law of reciprocity states that if you are good to somebody, they want to be good to you. So why wouldn’t you want to be good to your partner? It will come back to you. BEST MOMENTS “I tried to figure out a way of how I could regain my happiness.” “This life is very short.” “This setback is just a set-up for my comeback.” “ Bring the energy! If you want to convey the message, convey your energy and people will listen to you!” ABOUT THE GUEST With over 28 years of planning experience, Mike Duffy dedicates his expertise to helping high net-worth clients achieve greater financial independence. Having worked for some of the financial industry’s leading firms, Mike’s extensive history includes roles at Paine Webber, Citicorp Investment Services, Bank of America Investment Services and Merrill Lynch. Ep 223E223: “When It Comes To Loving Myself, I am Still Learning.” - Andrea Johnson Interview

Optimism expert and professional encourager, Andrea Johnson joins the show today to share her journey and how she went from battling depression and bulimia to teaching and empowering others. Together they discuss how being true to yourself can help you realise what you’re capable of, how change is never easy and the importance of seeing things from other peoples’ perspectives. KEY TAKEAWAYS Fire in the belly is a burning desire. Your fire in the belly starts with you, the journey that you have taken and the journey you are going to take others on. Fire in the belly is to not be trapped or captive to other people's narratives of what your life is supposed to be and the freedom you have from that. No change is easy. Being able to talk through your struggles with people that understand is helpful to be able to push through things. If we don’t work through our feelings that is when we end up with symptoms of mental health illnesses. If you have lost a loved one, no matter how ‘prepared’ you think you may be, you are never fully prepared. There is always a grief to come. We have a glimpse of what we are capable of. Our environment and our willingness to be true and honest with ourselves helps us to realise what we are capable of. None of us truly understand our potential or how big we are or how big we could be if we put our mind to it. This is extremely terrifying and exciting at the same time. It is more exciting to know that I set my paycheck. To be able to see things from other perspectives than your own you need to be able to step back and understand that this persons perspective is not harming you. Being willing to do that gives you the ability to connect with people you otherwise would not have done. BEST MOMENTS “I was always the black sheep.” “ I am constantly working on giving myself grace.” “When it comes to truly loving myself, I am still learning.” “I set my boundaries, I move in this direction based on what I know about myself.” ABOUT THE GUEST Hi there, I’m Andrea Johnson, and I'm an Optimism Expert and Professional Encourager. My mission of helping others find true freedom is expressed through coaching, motivational speaking, podcasting and building a global community of women, growing through following my six tenets of Intentional Optimism. I spent my entire childhood and adolescence battling weight gain and, ultimately, bulimia and depression. As an adult, I found several tools to help me manage, including gastric bypass surgery, years of antidepressants and counselling. In 2008, I was diagnosed with early menopause (at age 37) and told I had a 13% chance of a live birth using IVF. Then, in Feb. 2017, my mother finished her 15-year fight with breast cancer, and I finally sat down and truly walked through all the pain and anxiety and emerged, as if from a crucible, with a new life philosophy - Intentional Optimism. Now, I teach others to grow, lead and succeed, using the six tenets of (Optimistic, Present, Courageous, Energetic, Wise and Intentional), through coaching, speaking and training. My mission is to empower other women who have been told they are "too much" or "too strong," to be as BIG as they are created to be. Women lead in unique and glorious ways, and I'm here to help them do just that. Additionally, I am certified by the John Maxwell Team, an international Leadership Coaching organization, and her philosophy, Intentional Optimism, is a comprehensive approach to Personal Growth and Leadership Training viewed through the lens of hope. Ep 222E222: Interview with Joey Dumont

DESCRIPTION Author, Podcaster and Coach, Joey Dumont joins the show today to discuss his new book “The Life & Times of a Recovering Douchebag” and how his trauma was the catalyst to hiding behind a pretentious mask, and how healing from this changed his outlook on life. Together they discuss how business can become a beacon on how we behave as a culture, the importance of understanding each other and why it is important to have inspiring role models. KEY TAKEAWAYS Verbalising something is great. Writing it down is another way of reinforcing. Teaching it and/or calling it out, is another way to further that. You start to become far more complex in the understanding of your story. Writing may make you realise that you don’t know that much, and that will humble you and bring you to a place where you are accepting of that. If your heroes are assholes then who do you become? In society, we are conditioned to look up to people that have money and who work 130 hours a week, but are they the people that you want your kids to look up to? Or do you want them to look up to their teacher, who dedicates their life to teaching others? In religious passages, there are metaphorical truths and the stories themselves have a purpose. Whether it's the Garden Of Eden or the teachings of Buddha, the metaphorical truths embedded in all of them are very applicable when trying to be the best person we can be. They are helpful when aiming to live a life of morals, love and the serving of others. The world of business can start to become a beacon of how we behave as a culture. We have to stop hating each other because of political values and we have to begin to understand one another. You don’t always have to agree with one another, you just have to understand each other. This is a big piece of what leadership looks like. Politicians today are proving that their behaviour as a collective is untenable and disastrous. BEST MOMENTS “I am trying to learn. I don’t know anything as much as I want to know it.” “My heroes were assholes.” “I never paid attention to guys like that before, they were invisible to me.” “You don’t always have to agree with one another, you just need to understand each other.” ABOUT THE GUEST After multiple traumatic experiences, including his brother’s suicide and having his narcissistic father embezzle a large sum of money from him, his trauma manifested a parade of pretentiousness to mask the pain and insecurities he was hiding from. He was living what he thought was an amazing life until he realized he was just a d-bag and knew if he was ever going to experience the true fullness of life, he needed to change. Through the healing abilities of laughter, he was finally able to deal with the chronic anxiety, episodic depression, and other neuroses he had been too ashamed to admit. Now uses his natural ability to find humour in even the most painful circumstances to help others discover ways to rewrite the narrative in their heads, learn how to crack through insecurities, and enjoy a more authentic and fulfilling life. Those who interact with him feel less alone and more encouraged to heal from their trauma by addressing critical blockages they might be avoiding. Book Biography: Joey Somebody, The Life & Times of a Recovering Douchebag helps readers laugh their cry out after reading stories such as Joey discovering his brother’s suicide and his father embezzling his money. Joey used tragedies in his life as a catalyst for a massive shift in how he was showing up in life. He was using a parade of pretentiousness to mask the pain, anger, and insecurities he was hiding from. He was deploying fashion, athletics, and other personas to manage a public appearance of physicality, status, and expertise. He believed when a man looked good and spoke well, little else mattered. He thought he was living an amazing life until he realized if he was going to experience the true fullness of life, he needed to change. Joey dared to deal with the anxiety, episodic depression, and other neuroses he had been too ashamed to admit. Now he uses stories from his days as a douchebag to help others discover ways to rewrite the narrative in their heads, learn how to crack through insecurities, and enjoy a fulfilling life. Ep 221E221: “My Rock Bottom Moment Was The Catalyst For Greatness.” - Justin Schneck.

Master podcaster, named in the ‘Top 8 podcasters to watch’ in 2018, Justin Scheck joins Pete to discuss how his rock bottom moment was the catalyst to his greatness. Together they discuss how purpose can be found in your rock bottom moments, why we are always where we are supposed to be in life and why we always have control over how we react to change. KEY TAKEAWAYS There are so many people in this world that think that their rock bottom moment is the end. We’re given the pains in our life as an opportunity to find our calling, a lot of the time our purpose is found in those rock bottom moments. A lot of people get into a victim stance and continuously ask ‘why is this happening to me?’. Change your mindset to believing that life is happening for you, not to you. If you can switch into that mindset of understanding that life is happening for you everything changes. This will change your perspective on life and your actions can take place after that. People need to understand that no matter what emotion they are feeling at any given time, it is ok. You have the same right to be sad as you do to be happy. Just try not to live in one of those emotions for too long. When you are in a moment in your life when you need to numb out your pain, when you need to escape who you are, that is not a good place to be. Your rock bottom moment is the jumping-off point into what you are supposed to be in this life. It is not the end. You are continuously going to hit your rock bottom moment until you realise that they are not the end. One of two things is then going to happen. You are either going to jump off into greatness, or it is going to be the end of your life. No matter what we do, change is going to happen and we have no control over that. However, we do have control over how we react to the change. BEST MOMENTS “That's when everything changed in my life. That was the moment I realised I was chasing things, versus chasing happiness.” “We’re always where we are supposed to be, it is a lesson at all times.” “However you’re feeling at this moment, it’s ok.” “My rock bottom moment was the catalyst for greatness.” ABOUT THE GUEST “Justin has been named a Top 8 Podcaster to watch in 2018 by INC.com and chosen as an ‘Icon of Influence’ in the new media space. Ep 220E220: “Watching Their Lives Transform Is So Rewarding.” - Jen Coffel

Public speaker, author and business coach with over two decades of experience, Jen Coffel joins Fire In The Belly today to share her story. Together, Pete and Jen discuss how to help people share their gift by giving them entrepreneurial advice, why it is important to explore what you were put here to do and the power of visualising your future. KEY TAKEAWAYS There are so many people out there in the world that have this incredible gift and have huge expertise. The problem is that they don’t know how to do the entrepreneurial side of what is required to turn that gift into a business. Whilst they may be great at what they do, they do not have the entrepreneurial skills to generate leads, make sales and create a brand. There are continual layers of limiting beliefs. We each have something we are created to do, you don’t want to limit yourself due to limited thinking. You need to explore and discover the mysteries of yourself and what you were put here to do. Knowing what you want and implementing it into your life is simple, and sometimes easy however, there is always a lot of resistance. Ignorance on fire is better than knowledge on ice. Know the power of visualising your future. Visualizing what you want from life is the way to change. Ensuring your conscious and subconscious minds are in agreement with what you desire will allow things to shift. This physical body is a shell for our spirit. Our spirit will continue after we have passed. We are eternal and will go forward. BEST MOMENTS “I have built five businesses worth over 6 figures all in different industries in the last 12 months.” “Teaching them that and watching their lives transform is so rewarding.” “It was super helpful for someone like me, who had never been taught to care for my emotional self.” “Ignorance on fire is better than knowledge on ice.” ABOUT THE GUEST Jen Coffel is a speaker, author, and business coach with over two decades of experience and a proven track record of six- and seven-figure success in traditional business, direct sales, and nonprofits. Ep 219E219: “I Have A Huge Fire In My Belly.” - Ally Muller Interview.

Managing director of GOYA Consulting with a passion for working alongside organisations to rethink innovation, Ally Muller joins the show today to share her business journey. Together, they discuss how your fire in the belly is what makes you, you, the importance of profit for purpose within an organisation and why failure should be celebrated. KEY TAKEAWAYS Fire in the belly is what makes you, you. What is it that you are going to continually fight for in your life? What is your passion and how are you going to meet your goals? We need to celebrate failure and share it with everyone, particularly in the corporate world. We seem to be afraid of admitting failure as we believe that it may impact our performance review or potential promotion. We need to reframe failure so that it adds to the value of the role you are doing and the work that the people around you are learning from. It is becoming more apparent in business now of the importance of profit for purpose, innovation for purpose and adding purpose into the organisation. When we do that, we add greater value to our people and they get a better culture and they engage in the work that they are doing. If we give companies the opportunity for purpose, they do come out with amazing ideas. We have to give people the opportunity to prove themselves. It is important to be transparent and super authentic as well as giving people a safe space to vent when things go wrong. This will allow people to come to you when they have a problem that needs solving as they understand that you have got their back. BEST MOMENTS “I have a huge fire in my belly.”“This is the genius that you can find when you dig into the organisation.” “I like to observe, understand and see how people work.”“I didn’t know I knew so much!” “I am in my flow state when I’m writing.” ABOUT THE GUEST Ally Muller - “As the Managing Director of GOYA Consulting, business owner, advisor, speaker, board member and enthusiastic researcher, I'm known for providing commentary and advice on corporate innovation. Ep 218E218: “My Passion Is For People Outside Of The System” - Lois Letchford Interview

Having struggled with dyslexia all her life, Lois Letchford tells of how she turned her dyslexia into strength to become a literacy spokesperson for struggling learners. Together, Lois and Pete discuss learning environments that help children thrive, how emotions are critical to learning and the experiences that lead Lois to become a teacher. KEY TAKEAWAYS Many teachers think that reading is about teaching decoding. What they often forget is all of the other foundational stuff that is needed for children to thrive. When it comes to teaching the lowest 30% of the population and their ability to understand and read the language on paper, teachers need to have more knowledge and more time to engage these children to help them. To help children thrive it is vitally important that you create a learning environment that is safe and happy. When the brain feels like this, the brain learns. The brain does not learn under stress. Tapping into children's curiosity can allow the brain to grow. Laughter attaches to memory. Emotions are not an optional extra in learning, emotions are critical to our learning. They are critical because they allow us to access memory. There are children that society just writes off and eventually, they end up in prison. If you add race and socioeconomic backgrounds into the mix, then these children will face even more adversity in their life. The chances of these children getting out of this lifestyle are even more difficult as society forgets about them. BEST MOMENTS “I needed to see that to value what was going on in his brain.” “That was such a transformative moment in both of our lives.” “That experience is what drove me to become a reading teacher.” “As an adult, my poem was not worthy to share with the world.” “My passion is for people who are outside of the system.” ABOUT THE GUEST “Lois Letchford has struggled with dyslexia her entire life. Using her dyslexia as a strength, she is now a literacy spokesperson for struggling learners who have failed behind in the traditional classroom. Through coaching and workshops at international conferences, TV appearances, and highly-rated radio stations, she uses her own story in Reversed: A Memoir to teach educators and parents how to create flexible learning environments using comprehensive and innovative teaching methods.” Website: https://www.loisletchford.com ABOUT THE HOST John Paul Reilly A dyslexic businessman who left school just before his 16th birthday. Barely able to read and write, to the point that at exam time one of the teachers had to read the questions out to him (and then write down his answers in every exam). Written off like most kids who struggled at school and being told by his woodwork teacher he “was nothing and would amount to nothing” he now runs a multi-award-winning company in the construction industry. He was a loud but shy person who knew he wanted to achieve great things with no clue what business he wanted to do but knew that’s what he wanted. With his first business started at age 14, he has learned most things the hard way. Now the owner of multiple businesses with one being multi-award-winning, John Paul has been in business for many years sharing what he has learned over this time mainly the hard way. Ep 217E217: I Take People Out Of Their Hearts And Into Their Hearts - Speaking with Patricia Lindner

Highly empathetic and empowering consultant, soul advocate and mindset magician, Patricia Lindner joins the show today to discuss how she enables people to break free and feel liberated. Together they discuss the benefits of speaking your truth, why people feel guilty for wanting more and why fear is the reason we remain in the comfort zone. KEY TAKEAWAYS Fire in the belly is something that nourishes itself. You do not have to work hard for this fire, it is hard to extinguish because it is constantly growing. When you find the fire in your belly, you know that you are aligned. When you are together with the right people you can speak your truth. Those people will understand what you are talking about. If there are people who don’t like what you are saying then so what? We are here to have a joyful life, it doesn’t have to be hard. Everyone has body wisdom. Body wisdom is subconscious wisdom that helps people to trust their feelings, their body, their intuition and allows people to heighten their senses. A large percentage of people don’t realise that there is more to life. Many people believe that you cannot have it all. Oftentimes, people feel guilty for feeling dissatisfied with their lives, that others are envious of, but it is okay to want more. Maybe we are afraid of the power and potential we have? Perhaps we are afraid of leaving people behind when we step into our potential. Fear is the reason that we stay in our comfort zone. Women are not only feminine and men are not only masculine. Every person no matter what their gender has both aspects inside themselves. BEST MOMENTS “I take people out of their hearts and into their hearts.” “I want to speak my truth and not be afraid.” “I want to make them capable of freeing themselves.” “I didn’t quit, I am very proud of that.” ABOUT THE GUEST Patricia Lindner: A highly empathetic and empowering Consultant who has experienced the trappings of a profession as well as the stumbling blocks when leaving it. As a passionate Soul Advocate, motivating Mindset Magician and creative Consultant she guides open-minded high-performers on their journey to break free from their 9 to 5. She holistically liberates her clients from mental, social, physical and emotional blocks so they can tap into whole new solutions. Being an excellent, approachable listener as well as a straightforward and motivating, exceptional creative mentor, she helps them reignite their inner creative flame. Ep 216E216: “I Have A Mission For Growth.” - Interviewing Jim Barnish

Strategic change leader with over 15 years of leadership experience in global and integrated operations and founder and managing partner of Orchid Black, Jim Barnish Jr joins the show to share his passion for growth. Together, they discuss the importance of focusing on growing the people within your organisation, why we sometimes need to break things down to push forward and why personal growth can be transformational. KEY TAKEAWAYS As a leader, If you are focused on growing the people, you will find that the people are focused on growing the company and will take care of the customers. Growing people is possible through solid leadership. It is a luxury to be able to take risks in life but if you are lucky enough to be able to take a step back and look at what you're wanting to accomplish in life, it can be transformational. It is life-changing to align what you're good at, what you get paid to do, the impact you have on the world and what you love to do. Most businesses stop at the operational and revenue layer of business. They focus on driving as many sales to the business as possible. Whilst these things are important, the real value in a business sits above the operations and revenue layer. It is important to understand what transferable value the product or service is going to have. Sometimes you need to break things down to push forward. It is very hard for a lot of business founders to do this, but you have to accept what is in your control and what's not. Sometimes things are outside of your control and you must go above and beyond your comfort zone to push the company forward. Many companies miss the boat on understanding what the right compensation package is for their employees. Providing motivational benefits that will make your employees happy will make your company great and allow your staff to please your customers the way you would. Focusing on your personal growth can also be transformational. It is okay to take a step back and grow yourself. Your support system is important when you are trying to grow your company and they should not be separate. BEST MOMENTS “I have a mission for just plain growth.” “That is such a special feeling.” “There had to be a better way, there just had to be.” “That is fun when you can unlock it." ABOUT THE GUEST “ I am a strategic change leader with over 15 years of leadership experience in global and integrated operations, M&A, and strategic go-to-market planning. Ep 215E215: I Like Who I Have Become.” - Geralyn Gendreau Interview

Master story-teller and author Geralyn Gendreau joins the show today to share the inspiration behind her new book ‘Jungle Jean’ and how her near-death experience changed her life forever. Together, they discuss the life of Jean Liedloff, how to get into a flow state and why being human is messy! KEY TAKEAWAYS In the collective unconscious, everybody has experienced everything. You can tap into the past lives of anybody and everybody if there is a reason to. When we are dealing with the unknowns, it is hard to say what is the absolute truth. The only real truth in the world is that everything is always changing. There is a science to prove everything, it is a challenging thing to ask people to think more deeply about things. Critical thinking is something much needed in our world. Everybody makes mistakes. When there is a rupture, it is as important how you repair it as how you did the damage. If you get dysregulated you have to know how to regulate yourself, that is a key skill. Being human is messy. There is something very beautiful about being born into a different phase of life where sensuality and sexuality morph and change as your body morphs and changes. We go toward what satisfies our needs and there is often confusion about what satisfies us long term and short term. Impulse control is difficult. There is nothing more satisfying than waking up in the morning and being in a flow state, this may not happen every day and sometimes it is a matter of being patient. The unconscious is always working on whatever it is that you want to create. When you show up consistently, it has a place to flow through. BEST MOMENTS “I am my mother’s daughter.” “Is this your belief or is this just objective truth?” “Being human is messy. Let's face it, it's a mess.” “Stories are such a powerful teacher.” “I miss my precious estrogen but I do not miss the monkey on my back.” “When I leave, my name will still be here.” ABOUT THE GUEST A master storyteller, author Geralyn Gendreau speaks to the core of what it means to be human, offering provocative insight into our current dilemma. As a direct result of an unusual near-death experience (elaborated in the additional info section below), Geralyn became keenly interested in the conditions that lead to optimal human development. Her studies convinced her that these conditions, little known in our society but prevalent among our tribal ancestors, create an evolutionarily appropriate (i.e.: species-specific) family structure and social ecosystem that allows human nature to work successfully. Geralyn’s inquiries into optimal mother-infant bonding and her critique of “attachment theory” provide powerful insights into how we can form enduring, harmonious love bonds as well as dynamic, high-functioning relationships in our professional lives. Geralyn spent many years under the tutelage of Jean Liedloff, author of THE CONTINUUM CONCEPT (TCC). Now a torch-bearer for Liedloff’s world-changing ideas, Geralyn is intent on creating a renaissance for TCC. First published in 1975 and still popular 46 years later, Liedloff's seminal book about her experiences living with "original peoples" deep in the jungles of South America gave birth to the baby-wearing trend and attachment parenting movement. And while TCC is widely regarded as a childrearing classic, Gendreau is quick to point out that the book is a treatise on human nature. Paradoxically, the friendship between Geralyn and her mentor became a quagmire of unmet needs and unrealistic expectations. But it was these very relationship difficulties that gave rise to Geralyn’s fascination with what she calls the blindspot phenomenon. “Most of us repeatedly shoot ourselves in the foot, unaware of how or why we are doing so. This blindspot is what makes unwanted behaviour patterns so resistant to change.” In her 2021 book, JUNGLE JEAN (the authorized biography of Jean Liedloff) Geralyn explores these and many other topics in depth. Audience takeaways include: 1) insight into the core wound that alienates us from our true self keeps us separate from others 2) a radically new understanding of the underlying cause of our struggles and stubborn blocks 3) a glimpse of common “blind spots” that keep people stuck and prevent them from living with the wide-eyed wonder and unshakable sense of “rightness” that is our birthright 4) an embodied experience of the subtle, stable joy that is our natural state 5) a perceptual shift that makes it possible to let go of senseless worry and transmute the underlying anti-self feelings that feed anxiety 6) a framework that revolutionizes problem-solving by applying the law of miracles 7) the courage to embrace cooperation as the key to our survival as a species ADDITIONAL INFORMATION At the age of 29, Geralyn nearly drowned in heavy surf after getting slammed by a rogue wave. After an unusual near-death experience and dramatic rescue, she was spared the life of a wheelchair-bound quadriplegic by a divine intervention

Ep 214E214: “We Have Got To Love Ourselves Unconditionally.” - Troy Ismir Interview

Spiritual warrior coach Troy Ismir joins the show today to share his inspiring vision to help people go from living in quiet desperation to divine inspiration and how you can become radically free to be yourself. They discuss the courage it takes to be true to yourself, why fire in the belly is finding true joy on the inside and how helpful it is to reach out to a loving friend, therapist or coach. KEY TAKEAWAYS It takes a lot of courage to share your story. Be true to who you are on the inside, most people don’t do that. Most of us try to prove ourselves and perform for other people’s approval. Fire in the belly is finding true joy on the inside, no matter what anybody says about us. It shouldn’t matter where we live or what our circumstances are, finding joy on the inside is a beautiful thing. It is a working progress, and it most likely always will be. There will come a point in your life where you will realise that you don’t need more money or more stuff and that life is about experiences, relationships and loving ourselves. All that we are required to do is to go out there and go on an introspective journey and do our best to serve the world. Now more than ever we need men and women to step into their power. We all have something to give in the world. We all have a ‘shadow’ side, a side to us that we do not necessarily like or that we have some shame towards. Take a step back and understand that this is how God created you. The things that you are embarrassed by or ashamed of are superpowers that you get to step into. There are so many battles that men go through that they try to figure out on their own. Reach out to a coach, therapist or a nonjudgmental and loving friend to let them know you are struggling. More than likely, whoever you reach out to will be facing challenges that you can help each other with. Listening is healing. Being radically free means being radically free to be yourself. That is when you get the joy, the peace and the ability to live a life of passion. This is when you live life fully alive. BEST MOMENTS “It takes a lot of courage to share your story.” “We have got to love ourselves unconditionally.” “I lived my whole life trying to get people to get me” “I don’t want to suffer anymore.” “My vision is to create a community of global, spiritual warriors that are willing to go on an introspective journey for a transgenic course greater than ourselves.” ABOUT THE GUEST Troy Ismir As a Spiritual Warrior Coach, I will help you go from quiet desperation to living a life of divine inspiration. Ep 213E213: “I Want To Change The Way Women And Men Work Together” - Beate Chelette Interview

The Growth Architect, Author of Amazon bestseller ‘Happy Women, Happy World’ and founder of ‘The Women’s Code’, Beate Chelette joins Might Pete in today‘s episode, to share her story of how she overcame financial struggles and sold her multi-million dollar company to Bill Gates, as well as how she endeavours to change the way women and men work together. They also discuss humanising the workplace, why you should only focus on your cause and the importance of trust. KEY TAKEAWAYS We need to humanise the workplace. There is only a small percentage that can thrive in the current system of moving from kindergarten to high school to college and then to work within the corporate world. This needs to change. You don’t know the second step before you take the first step. When people say ‘I can’t start because I don’t know that path’, this is obvious. You cannot see the mountain top unless you get out of the forest and you are at a certain elevation. You just have to trust that it is there. When we go into these journeys, we have to trust that this is what we are here to do and what we are meant to do. Pay attention to how it shows up because God delivers, all the time. Trust is earned. People do what people need to do to save themselves. People who you often believe to be of worth, do things that are primarily beneficial for them over you. That is just human nature. Learning to trust is hard for most people. Unless something is your cause and this is what you are here to do, stop obsessing over it. What you do makes absolutely no difference to the situation other than make you crazy. Focus on the thing that you came here to do and make an impact in that genre because that is your cause. If you focus on all the things in the world that could be improved, you will make yourself crazy because everything can be improved. If you don’t know how to talk about yourself or present yourself, there is no winning right now for you. Knowing how to do this is a fundamental requirement at this time. BEST MOMENTS ‘You don’t know the second step before you take the first step.’ ‘Leadership comes from survival.’ ‘Being different is a strength, not a yelling point.’ ‘With that, now you can trust.’ ‘I want to change the way women and men work together.’ ‘I have to focus on that which I can improve.’ ABOUT THE GUEST Beate Chelette is The Growth Architect and founder of The Women’s Code, a professional development company specialized in guiding organizations to an enhanced ROI through Balanced Leadership. Beate has been named one of ‘50 Must-Follow Woman Entrepreneurs’ by HuffPost. A first-generation immigrant who found herself $135,000 in debt as a single parent, Beate bootstrapped her passion for photography into a highly successful global business and eventually sold it to Bill Gates in a multimillion-dollar deal. Beate supports organizations by developing and providing training, tools, and expertise to create and maintain a balanced, equal and inclusive work environment that fosters creativity and employee engagement. Ep 212E212: Audio Can Be So Powerful - Michael Sharkey Interview.

Michael Sharkey, a podcast professional, radio programmer and talent coach joins the show today to discuss how he voluntarily left the media world in 2014 after 25 years and the life-changing experiences that came after. Together they discuss why audio is so powerful, how to understand your relationship with fear and why it is important to honour your fire in the belly. KEY TAKEAWAYS Start with a podcast, and then from that podcast you can move on doing different things with video such as Zoom chats or videoing yourself promoting your podcast. You can then have your podcast transcribed which allows people to identify which parts of the episode they would like to listen to. In the spectrum of conversation and the dialogue we have as humans, there is something that spiritual leaders throughout history always bring up, which is, that if we spend our life helping others, we will find true happiness. Happiness doesn’t live in fancy cars or big houses, it lives when helping others. We all have a gift, and some people realise this and others don’t. One of the saddest things to see is people working so hard in a job they hate because they need to pay their mortgage and feed their families. That person has a mission but that mission has been suppressed by culture and society. Nobody is going to overcome fear. You need to understand what your relationship is with fear. Wait and see how your story unfolds and be okay with the outcome. Fire in the belly is passion. This means that you have a passion that you want to share as well as uncovering other people's passion. Passion is that fire. It is important to understand and honour your fire in the belly. It is an extraordinary thing and as we uncover it we find some of the answers to our bigger questions. There is a reason why people have gut instincts. BEST MOMENTS “The people listening to Fire In The Belly are eavesdropping on this conversation. If we do it right, they can walk away with something that they can digest and think about regardless of where the conversation goes.” “Audio can be so powerful.” “Serving others is what brings me the most joy. It is what I love to do.” “The answer lies in just staying present.” ABOUT THE GUEST Michael Sharkey: “What happens when you spend a lifetime in the media and walk away voluntarily? You hear radio differently and see the media world for its opportunities and faults. After spending 25 years in broadcast radio, running commercial radio stations (most recently for Cox Media Group), I took a sabbatical in early 2014. While the experience for me and my family was life-changing, I knew this experience would give me the distance I needed to chart a path forward for my career in radio/media. I once heard the expression, "when you're inside the bottle, you can't read the label." This applied to me when I was on the radio. When I walked away, I got outside the bottle, read the label and knew the direction to go. My takeaways from this time moving forward: Radio is still meaningful, it's just being programmed poorly (mostly by executives). Spoken word is incredibly powerful and growing daily with the rise of podcasting. If 20-34 year olds spend 82% of every day staring at their smartphone, you better make the radio experience meaningful for them on this device. Finally, if you want to bring radio to Millennials, you have to unlearn everything you've ever learned about radio and execute it completely differently. The Spotify generation wants radio (I’ve researched this), but you have to give it to them in ways you're not currently thinking of.” ABOUT THE HOST The ‘Mighty Pete Lonton’ from the ‘Mighty 247’ company is your main host of ‘Fire In The Belly’. Pete is an Entrepreneur, Mentor, Coach, Property Investor, and father of 3 beautiful girls. Ep 211E211: I Have A Passion For Helping People Value Themselves - with Therese Allison

Author, mentor and entrepreneur with a passion for helping others succeed, Therese Allison joins Pete today to share how she became financially free at 38 and was able to retire aged 43 to enjoy a life spending time with her children. Together they discuss the importance of being authentic in business, why you should always believe in yourself and why people are attracted to those who are true to themselves. KEY TAKEAWAYS You have to be authentic in business and you always have to be true to yourself. Being somebody that you are not will not work for you. When you are natural and go with the flow it works better. Being true to yourself will allow your clients to have trust in you and believe that you will be honest with them no matter what. You have to believe in yourself and believe in what you are doing for it to happen. You can make things happen in your life as long as you believe so. When you have conviction and you put it out there, you make things happen in the world. When you don’t know the answer say so. You should never lie because people in business don’t like that. When you are untruthful to a client, they will never trust you again if they find out. When you make a mistake, own up to it. Where your mind directs, stuff will follow. Try to get rid of negative thoughts because it is not productive at all. When you are in a positive place, you practice gratitude and you can figure out where you want to go in life, amazing stuff happens. If you are not trying to be something else and expending energy in an artificial place, then you can just be. People are attracted to that energy which gives you the freedom to go further. It is your natural place within the universe when authenticity occurs. When you are in your natural state with the universe, people and things are attracted to you. Ep 210E210: You Are A Valuable Asset - Miles Wakeham Interview

A self-made, financially independent entrepreneur, author and host of “The Unconstrained Podcast”, Miles Wakeham joins the show today to talk about how he left Australia to make a life for himself stateside and the ups and downs that followed. Together they discuss the importance of trusting your gut, how to value your time and why there is no reward without risk. KEY TAKEAWAYS Success comes when preparedness meets opportunity. Trust your gut and forego everything else that is around you telling you not to. Reaching success does not come by ‘luck’, you get there by being persistent and having the ability to listen to your gut. If you don’t have faith in yourself and your ability, you will never grasp opportunities and follow them through. You cannot control what happens around you. The only thing that you can control is how you react to what is going on. You are the captain of your ship, whilst you may think that you know the answer to everything that is going on in life, you don’t. If you know your value, you understand that you are not there to just have a job, you are there to add value to help the employer reach their mission. You need to listen to what their mission is, understand it and study it. You then need to come up with how you can best serve that mission, which makes you a valuable asset, not an employee. We don’t understand that as humans, we only have one life to live, we don’t get a second shot at this. If we go and waste it by selling our time by the hour to somebody because we are living in fear that without that we will be poor, then we have lost the plot. The fact is, we have to realise what our true value is as individuals, once we value that, we can put a price on it. What is that value worth to your employer? There is no reward without risk and there is no progress without risk. The two are directly interconnected. You cannot progress as a human being without risk and you need to accept that there are risks at all points of your life. Have the courage to get through the risks but most importantly, do not let the risks dictate your life. BEST MOMENTS “Next thing I knew I was a millionaire again.” “You are a valuable asset, not just an employee.” “Whilst that asset that I have built is out there, I don’t have to work.” “You have got to be willing to accept that risk is part of life, but you cannot let this blur your vision.” ABOUT THE GUEST Miles Wakeham - “Where do I begin.... If you want the left-side of my brain, I'm a technology advocate, engineer and software developer. Specializing in decentralized technologies incl. web, mobile and embedded. Have been a programmer since 1978. Databases are my key focus, with a heavy Data Modeling background. Linux professional and supporter of open source technologies. Systems analyst for Australian Submarine Corporation in 1980s. Moved to USA in 1989. Worked with Amgen (biotechnology) as early team member, helping build corporation from small team of 200 or so researchers and administrators to Fortune 500 corporation, with role as Development Lead in Sales & Marketing group. Independently developed service management software that was #3 leading product in world sales in 2003. Founded Edgneering LLC in 2007, one of the first "cloud computing" cos in Phoenix, Arizona. Data center designer and installation for clusters of servers in three worldwide redundant locations. Assisted major pharmaceutical benefits & claim processing organization from inception to over $100 million in revenue by developing web based custom software to run the majority of their operations and claim processing. Heavy emphasis in security, including HIPAA, PCI, and Military grade security systems. If you want the right side of my brain (far more interesting), I'm an extrovert, speaker/presenter, I sense opportunities and go to them, I travel the world but call Arizona my home-base, I want to help people find their own freedom (whatever that may be), and I love to talk. I host the Unconstrained Podcast and run the website https://www.beunconstrained.com I seek out investment opportunities and do everything possible to try and be a contrarian. I'm respectful of others, and enjoy a good joke.I spent decades as a musician, having been raised that way from the age of 5. My mother shoved a violin under my chin & I ended up in junior symphony orchestras as a kid. Then I found that you couldn't get girls that way, so I became a guitarist and played in some semi-successful bands in California. Then I learned the art of recording and built recording studios, recorded with some major acts in Hollywood, as a contractor to Capitol Records and others in the 1990s. I compose music and still cherish those memories. My sensitivity to music seems to have morphed into a sensitivity to people, psychology & opportunities, which drives me to learn more about this crazy life experience we are all on. Ep 209E209: I Am An Explorer - Pia Jansson

Entrepreneur, Lifestyle Coach and self-proclaimed explorer, Pia Jansson joins the show today to discuss how she helps people feel great and how she helps them to create brighter futures for themselves. Together, they discuss how everybody has a unique, inner spark, how the biggest growth comes from the toughest trauma and why you should always surround yourself with people who accept you. KEY TAKEAWAYS You can’t label energy, it is just a feeling. When you find it, you know about it. Sometimes the energy within you changes, and you have to move on to the next chapter of your journey. Energy is very fluid. We all have a unique inner spark. How we express that inner spark is up to you, there is no right or wrong way to express it, it is just what feels good for you. The inner light is connected to our heart, if our heart is open there is a lot of love. How you view life and other people is completely different when your heart is open and your spark expands. You often see people who have been through the most horrific experiences to become the best teachers. The biggest growth comes from the hardest trauma and although it is not fun, you learn a lot. Different events happen in life that we cannot avoid and that we don’t always want to happen. If you think it is better to be miserable then, you can, wanting to feel better will help you create something better with your life beyond staying miserable. You want to be with people that can accept you and grant you being. If you are around people that critique you and say that you are wrong, they are not accepting of you and can bring you down. Create a life that turns you on from the boardroom to the bedroom. When you are turned on you get energy. There is no ego involved and that is when you create the most amazing things. BEST MOMENTS “The red thread in my life has always been energy.” “Don’t you ever have a gut feeling?” “I am an explorer, I have gone out and explored realms beyond.” “You want to be with people that can accept you.” ABOUT THE GUEST Pia Jansson - I help entrepreneurs, leaders, and salespeople unlock - reconnect - ignite their inner power so they can create a life and business that flows. Creating a business and building a team that helps you take it to the next level starts with getting clear on who you are and your priorities. To create a business that prospers you need happy and engaged employees. While salary and benefits are important, engagement is the deal-breaker for both company culture (morale) and productivity. When you feel great about yourself and know the value you bring, you’ll have the confidence to create a life you truly love. My mission is to help people unlock, reconnect, and ignite their inner power so that they can create a business + life that turns them on and then spread good mojo to everyone they meet. Ep 208E208: Change The World Through The Eyes Of The People That You Support - Sam Thiara Interview

Inspirational Speaker, Educator, Writer and self proclaimed ‘Do-Gooder’, Sam Thiara joins the show today to discuss Sam’s journey to becoming the ‘difficult monk’ who has helped many people change their view of the world. Together, they discuss why obstacles are the necessary bricks on the road to success, why the more difficult the struggle, the sweeter the prize is and how even though you cannot control every situation, you can control how you react to it. KEY TAKEAWAYS The person who needs help, has the answers within them, they just need to be unlocked. Having the person reflect, ask questions and understand what matters to them in life will help them seek out their purpose. If it is easy and straightforward, it is probably not meant for you. The pain that you go through provides the pleasure at the end. The more difficult the struggle, the sweeter the prize. Obstacles are the necessary bricks on the road to success. Never fear the obstacles, embrace them because they are part of the journey. Realise that those obstacles are placed there for a reason to help you accomplish and achieve where we need to go. The world is very complicated and diverse, the more you focus on trying to change the world, the more frustrated you will become. By supporting others and changing their view of the world, you have changed the world in essence. From the moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed, you have a choice to make. Choose to add richness to your day and to your life. At the end of it all, at least you can say that you had some engaging experiences in your life that you truly enjoyed. As opposed to dwelling on the challenges you faced. Everyone will face challenges in their life. It is how you approach the challenge that matters. Understand that you are building resilience and this is something you have to face to get to the other side. You may not be able to control the situation, but you can control how you react to it. BEST MOMENTS “I am the difficult monk” “By leaving, I control my uncertainty, they don’t.” “From great darkness comes great light.” “I said to myself, I am going to be open to this experience and I am going to embrace the opportunity, but what am I going to learn as a result of this?” ABOUT THE GUEST Sam Thiara: Speaker, Educator, Coach, Writer and Community-Do-Gooder “I am an individual who is a speaker, storyteller, author, coach, mentor, entrepreneur, educator and dedicated to community development. There are five areas that I identify as my foundation: Servant Leadership; Story Sharing; Activator and Igniter; Champion and Enabler; and Community Do-Gooder. My passion is to help individuals, groups and organizations. This also extends to the community where I enjoy and participate in community development and engagement where I have mentored/coached , hundreds of individuals and worked with 45+ non-profits over the last 25 years.I have spent the last 17+ years at the Beedie School of Business as a lecturer, administrator and on the Alumni Association Board. For the last 20+ years, I have been involved with helping people build on their autobiographies. This has become the foundation for the building of GradusOne (which recently merged with League of Innovators), an organization to help high school/post secondary/recent graduates in their career journey. Storytelling is a cornerstone of my background. Whether as an author or speaking at a conference, I have had a very rich reflective life and enjoy sharing my experiences. I am called upon by organizations and schools to do keynotes, workshops or panel facilitation. This exposure has enabled me to speak regionally, nationally and internationally. Ep 207E207: I Am Loving My Life Right Now - Paul Keenan Interview

Pete is joined by personal trainer, podcaster and owner of Volume Fitness Paul Keenan, join them today as they dive into all things mindset and gratitude. Together they discuss why looking at the self beyond the physical is something everybody needs, why you either get what you want in life or you learn a lesson and why everybody is capable of doing so much more in life. KEY TAKEAWAYS Looking at the self beyond the physical is something that a lot of people need. There is a strong connection between the mind and the body. This has always been talked about but never really developed to any level en masse. You either get what you want or you get the lesson. Learning from your mistakes will take you a long time to get over and even though you will be through the worst of it, you will still carry the lesson with you. There can be two sides to gratitude journaling. One side is the ‘done it’ side by journaling your feelings at the end of the day which are not always ‘grateful’ feelings. The other side is journaling and showing gratitude for what you have experienced and what you have yet to experience. In life, there is as much below as there is above. You are capable of doing so much, maybe even a lot more than what you are doing right now. There is no rush to be successful. You have a lot of your life ahead of you and you should intend to be here for as long as possible. BEST MOMENTS “ Looking at the self beyond the physical is something that a lot of people need.” “I want to try and cut my own cloth.” “I am loving life right now. There was a point not so long ago that that wasn't the case.” “I don’t want to step outside of my box and I will seek support where I can, from others.” ABOUT THE GUEST Paul Keenan Owner at Volume Fitness LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/mynetwork/ Podcast: https://www.listennotes.com/podcasts/the-minds-your-muscle-podcast-paul-keenan-ELbgVlTYSZF/ ABOUT THE HOST The ‘Mighty Pete Lonton’ from the ‘Mighty 247’ company is your main host of ‘Fire In The Belly’. Ep 206E206: Take Care Of Yourself First Before You Seek To Help Others - Eric Winters Interview

Self-leadership coach, speaker and author Eric Winters joins the show all the way from Sydney, Australia today to deep dive into his passion for the human mind and self leadership. Together, they discuss why it is important to lead ourselves before we lead others, why not learning to manage your mind could see you being swept away in directions not of your choosing and why fire in the belly is what inspires and excites you. KEY TAKEAWAYS Before we go on to lead others and try to get the best out of them, we have first got to attend to ourselves. We need to manage our own mind so that we can meet challenges more effectively. One way that we are able to manage our minds effectively is by cultivating a helpful relationship to the self. If we get caught up in the ‘I’ then our ability to choose what we are going to do is diminished. It is helpful to talk about ‘the self’ as something we can be in a relationship with as it gives us greater choice in life. If we leave managing our mind to chance we will be swept away by both our biology and messaging within our cultures. These messages train us relentlessly to conform, buy and stay feeling good at all costs. By not learning to manage our minds we will be swept away in directions not of our choosing. If we are going to author our own lives and take a path of our choosing, it is going to require courage and skills to manage our minds. We need to learn how to choose for ourselves and know what we want to do whether our broader culture likes it or not. We have multiple experiences at the same time. It is possible to be excited about something, and worried. Our inner worlds are like orchestras, there are many instruments in an orchestra and some of them are very loud but if you listen closely, there are still some others playing lightly in the background. Fire in the belly is what inspires you, excites you and what gets you up and going in the morning. BEST MOMENTS “ Take care of yourself first before you seek to influence others.” “How is it that some people can manage themselves so well under huge pressure and others can't?” “I am nourished by making discoveries.” “I am inspired to be the best version of a partner I possibly can be.” ABOUT THE GUEST Eric Winters : “I’m a self-leadership coach, speaker and author with deep knowledge in the science of building courageous and emotionally intelligent mindsets.” Website : https://www.ericwinters.com.au/about/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ericwinterscomau/?originalSubdomain=au ABOUT THE HOST The ‘Mighty Pete Lonton’ from the ‘Mighty 247’ company is your main host of ‘Fire In The Belly’. Ep 205E205: My Strength Is To Help, Lead And Uplift Others - John Knowles Interview.

John Knowles joins The Mighty Pete all the way from Australia today to discuss his passion to help, lead and uplift others. Together, they discuss how to have fire in the belly means to never give up on your dreams, why a good leader always sets a standard and why you should always press through your challenges. KEY TAKEAWAYS Fire in the belly is about being relentless and never giving up on your dreams. Despite your circumstances, your upbringing and cultural background, never giving up hope is to have fire in your belly. Live your best life, for yourself and others around you. It is so easy to only live and think for ourselves. We soon come to realise the bigger picture and the importance of helping others. This does not only mean helping people financially but also includes sharing a smile, your time and performing kind gestures for people. It is incredibly rewarding to not only think about what you can get for yourself but also how to give to others. The best way to get good interaction out of life is to be happy and positive. Having good energy will attract good people. Automatically, people will want to get to know you as they can feel that you want to care. This is super important when wanting to connect with people in life. Someone with any kind of disability should never be underestimated in any way. Do not underestimate what they can do, see, hear or what they are capable of achieving in their intellectual and physical ability. A good leader sets the standard. They also recognise others and encourage others to do their best. Although they might point out ways for people to improve, they also point out people's strengths. Press through your challenges, don’t stop. You should never settle for something less than what you want and don’t listen to what others think. The only thing that really matters is what you think. BEST MOMENTS “Be an inspiration.” “There are multiple ways to help others, it is huge. It is so rewarding to be able to help.” “My strength is to help, lead and uplift others.” “I want to help them see the better side of life and to know that someone recognises and sees their efforts.” ABOUT THE GUEST John Knowles Facebook: John Knowles Whatsapp : 61-483800762 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-knowles-03063b57/?originalSubdomain=au ABOUT THE HOST The ‘Mighty Pete Lonton’ from the ‘Mighty 247’ company is your main host of ‘Fire In The Belly’. Ep 204E204: We Need To Make The Planet Better- Storm Cunningham Interview

Master of restoration, author and U.S Army veteran, Storm Cunningham joins the show today to talk us through how he earned the name ‘guru of the trillion-dollar global renewal trend’ and what he is doing to help restore the planet. Together they discuss why we do not just have to conserve what we have left on the planet, but how we can restore the damage we have already done, the importance of staying focused on your life mission and why you should raise your standards in life. KEY TAKEAWAYS The planet is in a poor condition currently, which begs the question, why would anybody want to sustain it as surely it is past repair? We do not just have to be satisfied with conserving what is left of nature, we can actually restore the damage that we have already done. Once you become attuned to the fact that restoration exists, you start to see it everywhere. You can see revitalisation, repurposing and restoration everywhere once you really begin to look for it, you have just never really noticed it before. A process is absolutely essential to reliably produce something. Those who run cities and regions do not seem to understand that. They promise revitalisation however they do not have a process for what they are producing or promising. They figure out that if they do some good things, revitalisation will magically appear. No matter how inspiring your mission may be, you are always going to have to deal with ‘ugly’ people and not very bright institutions. Focus on your mission and do not hassle yourself with negativity. If you choose your opportunities properly, they will allow you to get paid to do the things that you would usually pay to do. Raise your standards and find a job that can teach you a valuable skill which can open up new, fun and lucrative opportunities for you. So many people have very low standards when it comes to jobs, so long as they have a pay cheque they are content. That tends not to lead to living a joyous life. BEST MOMENTS “Look around at the planet, this place is a total mess right now. Who wants to sustain this? We need to make it better.” “Every genre has two great books, the first one that was written, and the best one.” “These are the people in charge of the future and they are putting their trust in magic and hope.” ABOUT THE GUEST “Storm is often called the guru of the trillion-dollar global renewal trend. He started writing The Restoration Economy in 1996, when brownfields redevelopment, regenerative agriculture & restoration ecology emerged. That 2002 book advanced today's regenerative trends: resilience, circular economy, carbon-negative, etc. Storm's new book (January 2020) RECONOMICS reveals a reliable path to inclusive, resilient regeneration.” Website : https://stormcunningham.com ABOUT THE HOST The ‘Mighty Pete Lonton’ from the ‘Mighty 247’ company is your main host of ‘Fire In The Belly’. Ep 203E203: Change The World For One - Bob DePasquale

Impact maker, Author and podcaster, Bob DePasquale, joins Pete today to discuss his journey and how he became a successful podcaster and impactor. Together, they discuss how to spread positivity, why it is important to make sure you have a purpose in life and why historically, goal setting has proved successful. KEY TAKEAWAYS Positivity is on a spectrum and there is an opportunity to offer positivity in certain situations. However, it is not blind or a misunderstanding of reality. You may not be able to change the entire world, but you can change the world for one. When it comes to positivity and the positivity movement, it is just doing things well for good reasons. Have good intentions, you do not have to create the world biggest charitable organisation. It just means that you have done a small thing for someone one day and made a positive impact on their day. To have a purpose is vitally important. If you do not have a direction or a purpose it is very hard to find fulfilment and hard to make a positive impact in your own life, your family's life and on the world. One of the best exercises to do in the morning before you do anything else, is to count the blessings in your life and consider why you are doing what you are. If you do not know your ‘why’, you need to do some searching. In history, the most successful people set goals, they had a purpose they were reaching for. Fast forwarding to the 21st century, goal setting has become a formalised process. There is nothing wrong with the tools to help you set goals, goal setting is a very personable process and there is no specific way to do it. Everyone's way of goal setting is different. It is important to have a vision of where you want to go. Imagine being a boat without a direction, if you do not know where you are going it is not going to be a smooth sail. BEST MOMENTS “You may not be able to change the entire world, but you can change the world for one.” “I ask myself ‘why’ every morning” “The communication aspect is really what sets it apart.” ABOUT THE GUEST Bob DePasquale, Impact Maker, Curious Author, Longwinded Podcaster, Motivated Founder LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/bobdepasquale/ ABOUT THE HOST The ‘Mighty Pete Lonton’ from the ‘Mighty 247’ company is your main host of ‘Fire In The Belly’. Ep 202E202: I Have A Light And I Am Going To Let It Shine - Tamara Zoner

The Happiness Coach with a passion for bringing joy, purpose, productivity and profit into your life, Tamara Zoner joins Pete today to discuss how she decided to go from working full time in senior care, to being a full time inspirational speaker. Together they discuss what it means to be an empath, how to create markers for your success and why you are a working process for the entirety of your life. KEY TAKEAWAYS When we practice empathy, we don’t want to get stuck in the hole ourselves with the person we are trying to help. With empathy you throw down the ladder so you can help the person get back up. Being an empath is being able to sense that someone is having an emotional experience, and not having it become your emotional experience. We heal in layers. There is still healing to be done from all of your traumas. It is interesting to look back on past memories as your present self and see how far you have come. We heal for things when situations arise that remind us of past trauma. When you are looking at other people, part of that is a mirage and you are seeing a version of yourself. Our ego does not want to accept that there are aspects about our own personality that we do not like. Create markers for your success which will let you know when you are there, at your goal. Think in the perspective of an outside observer, how would they be able to tell you have reached that success marker? Keep revising those markers. Even as big as our egos can get, they often encourage us to play small. Your low self-esteem or limitations may get in the way of your mindset. Change your mindset to match your markers with your intentions and ensure that you are not selling yourself short. Your voids can be your values, and not necessarily be your voids anymore. You are a working progress, there are still places where you are not fully living those values. Your willingness to see them means that one day you will. BEST MOMENTS “I just know that I have been told enough now, that I have this light and I believe them, I am going to let it shine.” “I love who I am and I can share this gift with other people.” “They’re the reason that I kept my eye on this dream.” “It is what we truly believe, that is going to show up for us.” ABOUT THE GUEST “Tamara Zoner : The Happiness Coach - Speaker and Executive Coach for Corporate and Private clients, bringing more joy, purpose, productivity, and profit through the science of happiness!” LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tamara-zoner-83017648/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tamara_zoner/?hl=en Twitter: https://twitter.com/alifeyoulovenow?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor ABOUT THE HOST The ‘Mighty Pete Lonton’ from the ‘Mighty 247’ company is your main host of ‘Fire In The Belly’. Ep 201E201: I Have A Purpose Now - Shannon Ferguson

Shannon Ferguson joins the show today to talk through her inspirational story of how she turned her life around from addiction to having a burning passion to help others through her up and coming new business venture. Together Shannon and Pete discuss how having a passion and purpose in life gives you that fire in the belly, why it is healing to no longer care what others think about you and why being with nature is a great way to appreciate the world we live in. KEY TAKEAWAYS Fire in the belly is living a life of passion and purpose. You may feel as though you have lived a life without a sense of direction or purpose, you need to learn how to tune into what you desire and what feels right for you. That will create a fire in the belly for you as well as giving you an excitement for life and what the future holds for you. Try not to please everyone. Everyone has different things that they want from you, with different expectations. Understand that you cannot please everyone and it is exhausting to even try, so why not live to please yourself? It will feel a lot better to make choices that are right for you. The people that are meant for your life, will love you for you and will be proud of you no matter what. It is healing to learn that it does not matter what other people think of you. It may hurt when people say hurtful things, but the fact that you love yourself, have good intentions and are a good person quickly outweighs that. With everything you do, be aware of how other people are feeling. Whilst it is good to be polite and mindful, when it starts to take over your life it is a recipe for unhappiness and being unfulfilled. It will not make you feel good to keep living that way. Everything happens for a reason. As long as you keep listening to your intuition, you will keep being guided down the right path. When you ignore it, that is when bad things begin to happen. Being with nature is a great way for us to appreciate the world which we so often miss because we are so absorbed with technology. We are constantly distracted with the hustle and bustle of life that it is grounding to be surrounded by nature. BEST MOMENTS “I have a purpose now.” “I am constantly doing my best to notice the types of thoughts I am having and whether they are positive or negative.” “It has been healing to learn that it truly doesn't matter what other people think.” “It was a way of escaping what I knew to be true.” ABOUT THE GUEST Shannon Ferguson is a student of Dynamite Lifestyle and Hypnotherapy and life coaching who is preparing to launch her own business to help more people. Ep 200E200: 200th Episode Special - This Was My Life Saviour : The Mighty Pete Interview

In this one off special for the 200th episode, the tables turn as The Mighty Pete takes to the interviewee chair as guest host Liam O’Neil aka The Prove It Guy quizzes him on all things Fire In The Belly and his new book. Together, they discuss the evolution of the podcast, interviewer tips and tricks and how the podcast has helped Pete find his purpose. KEY TAKEAWAYS There is something about putting a microphone in front of people that stops people from slipping into a pity party and keeps people focused so they are not drifting off into a different conversation. When interviewing, you are able to dig deep into the lives of others, however you must have the ability to know when it is appropriate to stop digging. One deep question that is always asked on the podcast is ‘do you like or love yourself?’ It often sends people off in either direction of answering yes, or no which can set the tone for the rest of the podcast. People are usually stagnated at the beginning of an interview because they are on guard as to what is coming. You can often point out the time in an interview where people start to relax and begin enjoying the conversation, which results in open and honest chats. This sees them going into a flow state and has them talking more openly and honestly. Be heard and be rich in all the areas of your life. Be rich in your financial, physical, spiritual and mental areas. Hear your own voice, your own ideas and your own passions. Live the most abundant life that you possibly can. If someone chooses to live their life in a certain way, try not to judge it. The Fire In The Belly podcast is nondenominational, non political and non judgemental. BEST MOMENTS “You have to be the person that stood up and took action, to go and find the people that also stood up and took action.” “When someone has a fresh idea, it is a very vulnerable time for them.” “This was my life saviour. This was my reason.” ABOUT THE GUEST HOST Liam O’Neil https://www.limitationisamirage.com “I have been studying Martial arts since I was 16. At the age of 21, I started learning about hypnosis, psychology and magic of the mind as a way to develop my training. Together with my extensive knowledge of body mechanics, I am able to perform astounding feats of strength and control, using my mind, my body or both. When I’m not developing my own abilities, I spend my time helping individuals and companies to realise their full potential. These days, my principal focus is teaching, speaking and training. However, people learn best when they are entertained, not bored. I spent many years entertaining audiences both large and small at corporate events, night clubs, comedy clubs, weddings and parties — even out on the street! I believe my extensive experience as an entertainer is of immense benefit in my current work. Nobody learns anything when they’re bored! My main theme is, ‘Limitation Is A Mirage’. I show individuals and companies how to get past self-limiting beliefs and practices, and start the real process of turning dreams, goals, ambitions and targets into reality. I’m also known as ‘The Prove-It Guy’. I think audiences, especially in the corporate sphere, have had enough of words that sound good but don’t connect with the practical concerns of running a successful business. Every principle I teach, I can demonstrate. Everything I demonstrate, I can teach.” ABOUT THE GUEST / HOST The ‘Mighty Pete Lonton’ from the ‘Mighty 247’ company is your main host of ‘Fire In The Belly’. Ep 199E199: Life is a journey, do not take it too seriously - Joannie O’Hanlon Interview

Pete is joined by Joannie O’Hanlon today, an incredible and inspirational woman who dedicates her life to helping other women change their thinking to dramatically improve their lives. Together, they discuss how vital it is to always look on the positive side of life, how to stop toxic thoughts interfering with your dreams and how to crash through the barrier of fear. KEY TAKEAWAYS Many people do not understand personal mentoring. We have to be realistic and acknowledge that life can be a bumpy trail. You can choose to live a life where you are more lentiant to the positive side and understand that things happen for a reason and how to count your blessings. It is great to be able to reflect on how far you have come. Fire in the belly is a heated desire that is so strong that it pulls you out of bed in the morning. You are no longer pushing through life anymore, something greater is pushing you out there, towards your greatness. When you are feeling out of alignment, start to question what is happening to jeopardize feeling happy and with a clear mind. Oftentimes you will find that it will be toxic thoughts such as self-doubt. These thoughts are not good and are stopping you from being focused on what is good. If something is seeping in that is not making you feel good, choose to reject it and carry on with what you know is going to serve you best. You are capable of achieving anything that you put your mind to. It is so important that everybody knows that. Shrink your dreams down, to small attainable goals rather than massive, scary goals. When we harbour faith over fear, we can crash through every scary decision and we can do it in style. To crash through the barrier of fear and into freedom, is the most liberating thing that you can possibly do. So many people crash and burn into the fear barrier and become subservient to mediocracy which they have been tolerating for so long, letting it dictate their life. Crashing through all limiting beliefs and situations, and facing fear and taking risks is the key to getting to your goal. BEST MOMENTS “I just love to stop and take it all in.” “ Life is a journey, do not take it too seriously. Honor the times that are good and the things that are bad. Focus on the good things in life.” “We are and I am capable of doing anything that I put my mind to.” “I’ve got some big dreams.” “I have always been a risk taker.” ABOUT THE GUEST I teach women how to change their thinking for dramatically improved results, using the incredible & life transformative programmes by the Proctor Gallagher Institute. Ep 198E198: Everyone Deserves To Live A Life That Puts The Fire In Their Belly - Amanda Rafferty Interview

Podcaster, Blogger and Mentor Amanda Rafferty joins Pete today to share her story and tell of how one event turned her whole life upside down and changed her mindset forever. Together, they discuss how with the right people around you, you can turn your life around for the better, why you should live your life on your own terms and the importance of being respectful to others. KEY TAKEAWAYS There are very few people who get through life without any challenge, obstacle or struggle. With these, you are able to turn your life around in a positive way which can give others a sense of hope that they can do the same. It is a daunting place to be when you are starting again, but it can be done. With the right people around you and the right mindset to help you believe that you can start again. Whilst it is not easy, and each day may bring their own challenges, keep putting one foot in front of the other and move forward on your journey. Everybody deserves to live the life they want rather than just trudging through life. So many people hold back in life because of somebody else's perception and the fears that they have. This is your life, you have to live your life on your terms, not on somebody else's terms. You really have no idea what life is going to throw at you next. You can plan ahead as much as you like, but your life can turn upside down with no warning. Live in the here and now, nobody knows what is going to happen in the future. It shouldn't matter if somebody has £5 or £5,000,000 in the bank, you should always show respect to others. We are all cut from the same cloth and we are all the same. Respect people, be kind to people and always remain humble. BEST MOMENTS “I always look for the positive in what is happening.” “Everyone deserves to live a life that puts the fire in their belly.” “At that moment, I had no control over anything.” ABOUT THE GUEST Amanda Rafferty: Mum, Blogger, Mentor and Podcast host. Ep 197E197: She Is A Given - Interview with Emilie Given

Successful entrepreneur and virtual assistant agency owner, featured in The New York Post, Emilie Given joins Pete today to share her story on why she decided to leave her 9-5 job at Amazon, and start up her own business, which now has a six-figure value. Together, they discuss how talking about wanting money is not a bad thing, how to create a continuous flow of money and how being a good person will attract good people to you. KEY TAKEAWAYS Money is energy. Money is a currency which you give away and have it flow back to you. Money is not bad, and it is not bad to talk about it. There is not a limited amount of money, it is constant and you can attract it by what you are doing. We do not need to limit our mindset and believe that we can only ever have so much money. When starting out in business there will be hard work involved because you are creating a new programme. However, if you do it in a way that you are setting up systems and processes, you can have that money come flowing to you for years and years. If you are a good person and you have high energy, you are going to attract good people with high energy. You should not continue to pursue relationships that you feel obligated to have. Think about if those relationships do you any good. Do they make you feel good when you talk to them? Or do you dread talking to them? If you dread talking to them, they no longer need to be in your life. BEST MOMENTS “My life goal is to help other people find stability, balance and figure out a career that really works for them.” “I believe in Karma.” “I like to be around people, even if we are not talking.” “I love people, I just love being around people.” ABOUT THE GUEST “Emilie Given is a successful online entrepreneur and virtual assistant agency owner who has been featured in Business Insider, Scary Mommy, and The New York Post. She founded She’s A Given, a Seattle-based virtual assistant company in 2018 to be able to spend more time with her family after a near-death experience. 9 months after leaving her 9-5 at Amazon Corporate HQ, she built a thriving six-figure business. Emilie is passionate about matching high-level executive assistants with business leaders and their teams. Ep 196E196: My Happy Mind - Lisa Stevenson Interview

Author Lisa Stevenson joins Pete in today's episode of Fire In The Belly to discuss why she left her job as a nurse to pursue a new career in writing and tells of how she created the health and wellness journal for children called ‘My Happy Mind Journal’ to help them with gratitude, positivity and mindfulness. Together they cover everything from the importance of asking for help, the benefits of the Happy Mind Activity Journal and why sending love to people will always make you feel better. KEY TAKEAWAYS Ask for help if you think you need it, even if you might feel you are being silly. Ask the people around you for their advice and get them to help you through your struggles. There are so many ways to teach yourself things these days that make your life easier. Showing gratitude is not about only appreciating the big things in your life. It is also about showing gratitude for the pillow that you’re sleeping on, having warm water to wash your face with, your shampoo to wash your hair etc. Show gratitude for absolutely everything that you have, even the minor things because unfortunately, not everybody has these. You have to be grateful for the small things and then you can be even more grateful for the big things that happen in life. So much of a childs entertainment these days comes from a mobile phone. The fact that My Happy Mind Activity Journal allows children to pick up a pencil and color improves behaviour and is something new and exciting for them. Everyone is a working progress no matter how old you are. Whether you’re ten or one hundred and ten, you always find out something new about yourself such as new interests or new skills that you didn’t realise you had or were good at. Everyday is a learning day. Love and happiness are two of the things people forget that they have. People need to remember to give love more often, even to people that you may not think deserve it. Send them love and it makes you feel a lot better. BEST MOMENTS “Kids now, from the age of one or two can use a phone better than I can!” “I made the decision that I have had enough.” “I have not regretted one iota of it.” ABOUT THE GUEST “I am an author of My Happy Mind Activity Journal for children aged 7-12 to help them with gratitude, positivity, mindfulness, meditation all in a fun way over 60 days. My passion is helping people to feel good about themselves and help them heal themselves through my holistic therapy business.” LinkedIn: https://uk.linkedin.com/in/lisa-stevenson-7b7ba61b9 ABOUT THE HOST The ‘Mighty Pete Lonton’ from the ‘Mighty 247’ company is your main host of ‘Fire In The Belly’. Ep 195E195: When Passion And Purpose Marry Together, Fire In The Belly Is Made - Chris Collier Interview

Chris The Conqueror joins The Mighty Pete in today's episode to discuss what Fire In The Belly means to him and his pathway to success. In yet another inspirational episode, they cover topics from success and how it varies from person to person, the meaning of faith and why failure is a wonderful thing. KEY TAKEAWAYS We are programmed to believe that losing is okay and that we cannot always win. Whilst there is some truth in that, you always have to strive for the best. Failure is a wonderful thing, it is a teacher more so than a bad thing. Learn and embrace failure and get better from it. There are two things that every person needs to find and work with to have that fire in the belly. Fire in the belly is to have passion and purpose. When you get passion and purpose married together, you have power that creates a whole new force in the world. Faith is nothing more than looking to the future and knowing the end goal and bringing it to the present as best you can. It may not happen today or tomorrow but each day, you are bringing your dreams closer to you. When you look into the future you have got to look with the perception of purpose, your passion and your power. Use this as your motivator. Success varies for every person. The process to success is never easy, if your dream is big enough the facts simply do not matter. You have to believe you can do it, so you are able to get through the first, second and third hurdles. You should never be jealous of those who have different dreams and beliefs than you. Everyone has their own pathway. There is only one path in but once you are in there are many paths to go down. Ep 194E194: Living My ‘I Am’ Moment - Interview with John Davis

Motivational speaker John Davis joins Pete today to talk about his journey to success and how went from stuntman to comedian to life coach. John talks about his belief in living his ‘I am’ moment, how the only person that will get in the way of you and your goals, is you and how when he stopped limiting himself, amazing things happened. KEY TAKEAWAYS John believes that you are only living in one, conscious moment, which is the present. Your past is just a stack of present moment memories, moments that you have lived that are now in your memory storebank. Your future is just a place where you set goals for future, present moments. You have to stay very firmly present in the ‘I Am’ moment. You have to make these small moments successful. Something is always going to come up that is going to seem like it is going to stop you from achieving your goals. It is your job to keep your eye on your target and your goal and realise that your subconscious mind is showing you this thing, so that you can address it. They can only stop you if you choose to let it stop you. John uses the example of if somebody was 100lb overweight and decided they wanted to lose that weight an affirmation saying ‘I am thin’ is not going to change the fact that they are overweight. Declarations such as ‘I am eating well’ or ‘I am creating a healthy body.” are things that can be true. Saying things that are not reality are not believable and will not magically happen for you. You can never consciously be in alignment unless you are willing to set down your past and your past traumas. Although he did not expect it, John had a very emotional response to his fathers passing because they were no longer talking when he passed. When he passed away John was emotional because he was relieved. When he stopped needing to struggle, everything became easier for John. When he stopped holding himself back, he stopped limiting himself from those He began to live the ‘i am’ moment and by doing this, he started to experience amazing things. BEST MOMENTS “You have got to do things in alignment in this space to bring that experience.” “When you finally experience the big outcome that you are looking for, it is going to be in your present moment.” “Life is about motion.” “You can put faith in fear. You can put faith in love.” ABOUT THE GUEST John David : “What I can do for you: Using bullwhips, nunchucks, and world-class comedy, I will deliver a program that delivers the five key steps I used to get out of bed after my spine separated leaving me unable to walk. I went on to become a Stuntman, Fight Director, and comedian who performed over 4000 live comedy sword-fighting shows (including more than 100 on the front lines of Iraq and Afghanistan six USO tours.) I will tailor my proven material to meet the goals you have set for your event. All of my programs are interactive and will culminate with one of your audience members, in under five minutes, learning to crack the bullwhip and hitting targets I will hold in my hand!!” https://www.linkedin.com/in/corporateactionhero ABOUT THE HOST The ‘Mighty Pete Lonton’ from the ‘Mighty 247’ company is your main host of ‘Fire In The Belly’. Ep 193E193: Choose Happy - Sarah Gregg Interview

Fellow Northern Irish local, author, psychologist and life coach with a huge amount of passion and intellect, Sarah Gregg joins Pete in today's inspiring episode. Leaving her job in 2016 Sarah decided to reinvent her life and chase her dreams to become a successful author. Sarah discusses how her journey led her to have deeper trust within herself, why she believes people should be more open with their feelings and why it is her aim to encourage people to live the life they want. KEY TAKEAWAYS Sarah believes that life can look good on paper and people can do everything that was expected of them yet still feel discontent. Many people are suffering with these emotions and Sarah endeavours to encourage people to reinvent the rules of happiness and success. She believes that everyone is whole and worthy and we need to live the life that we want. Whilst in Portugal, Sarah was working hard to write and continue to put stuff out there as it was something she loved but it was not working. Whilst part of her contemplated going back to the 9-5 office world, another part told her to keep going and believe in herself. The journey taught Sarah to have a deeper level of trust within herself, when you have that magical things can happen. It is important for Sarah to feel as though she does not need change herself but feel as though she can accept herself. Part of Sarah's work is helping people to move themself into alignment so that they can become ‘in-flow’ and figure out how all the parts of themselves work together so that they can flow towards what matters most. As opposed to ‘how do I change myself’ to get what I want. In the world of psychology there is an expectation that you should be a perfectly formed human being and not have bad feelings or flaws. What Sarah has realised is, having those flaws, experiences and feelings is what makes her really good at her job. The two aren’t separate, the two are part. There should be more times and places where we are vulnerable enough to say ‘I am not having a good day today’. Sarah's book ‘Choose Happy’ is about how small changes can create happier results. It takes common roadblocks to happiness such as comparison and gives anecdotes and psychology based strategies to help you navigate your way around that. ‘Choose Happy’ helps navigate when your messy, complex lives inevitably bring up new emotions that are harder to handle. BEST MOMENTS “We are not broken in any way, sometimes the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle are a little bit rearranged.” “So much of my journey has been events that cannot be explained.” “When you are in alignment, that is the optimum stage of consciousness.” ABOUT THE GUEST Sarah is a Northern Irish girl with a huge passion for unlocking human potential (you could call it a bit of an obsession). Sarah is a member of the British Psychological Society, a certified life coach, business coach, and a certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner. She's helped hundreds of ambitious individuals and businesses to dream big and take consistent action to get the results, with ease. In 2016 Sarah left her job and went in pursuit of her dream to work and travel full time. She now runs The Power to Reinvent and helps people across the world fulfill their potential and feel happier. Ep 192E192: We All Need Somebody - Tony Martignetti

Leadership coach, entrepreneur and curious adventurer Tony Martignetti joins the show today to discuss how he allows people to unlock their potential and helps them to climb their personal mountains. Together they discuss how overcompensating can lead to burnout, why you have to be open to being wrong and how fire in the belly is what drives you to push yourself to make your dreams come true. KEY TAKEAWAYS Fire in the belly is something that drives you. Your fire is something that keeps you moving and in action. The inside fire is something that keeps you alive and helps you strive forward. There is something alive in you that is dying to come out and help you move forward to the next step of your life. The path to burnout is when you try to overcompensate and live your life to reach the top of a mountain and then realising you do not like what you have become. That is because you have continued to struggle to get there and realised that you have done everything to force yourself to get there, and you are unhappy with the results. You have to be open to being wrong and be open to rethinking situations. If you hold your beliefs so strongly that you are not open to being wrong then there is no way to expand and there is no way to innovate in a way that will make an impact. There are so many people that die with a song in their heart that has never been sung. We need to ensure that each person gets that out of them, even if they’re scared. Do not be afraid. BEST MOMENTS “I didn’t know that I was on a path that was not mine.” “You have to be open to being wrong.” “We win together by opening up and sharing.” “What kind of coach would I be if I didn’t have a coach?” “We all need somebody.” ABOUT THE GUEST “I am Tony Martignetti, a leadership coach, entrepreneur, idea generator, people connector, and a curious adventurer. I bring together practical experience, formal training, and extreme curiosity, to elevate leaders and equip them with the tools to navigate through change. I love helping people find clarity in their lives, so they are energized, fully present, and unstoppable. When leaders unlock their potential and lead from a place of inspired purpose, they impact and inspire everyone around them. I have dedicated myself to helping people live a life of inspired purpose. Before I became a coach, I was a finance and strategy professional with experience working with some of the world’s leading life sciences companies. Along my journey, I also managed small businesses and ran a financial consulting company. As I share my story, I want to leave you with three key lessons I learned along the way to help you on your journey from where you are now to where you would like to be.” ABOUT THE HOST The ‘Mighty Pete Lonton’ from the ‘Mighty 247’ company is your main host of ‘Fire In The Belly’. Ep 191E191: Trusting Your Intuition - Sunil Godse Interview

The mighty Pete is joined by Entrepreneur, Author and Intuition expert, Sunil Godse to talk through his journey of putting his trust into intuition and how his teachings have helped many people succeed along the way. In this motivational episode, Pete and Sunil discuss the importance of aligning with your values, why you should never spend your life trying to make other people proud and how your intuition will always send you signals to make sure you keep going in the right direction. KEY TAKEAWAYS If you make a routine decision such as what you are going to eat, your creative intuition is quite low. However, if you are going to make a crazy decision, your creative intuition is high. Positive intuition is when something crazy just feels so right to you. Many people go against their intuition as they usually do not trust themselves. So many people are going round in life carrying some kind of trauma or are trying to be someone that they think they need to be. When you are not in alignment with what you really want, in terms of your values, then you start to succumb to societal norms and values of others meaning you will fall into things that are not right for you. When you live your life trusting your intuitive signals and taking steps one by one you are of course going to reach your big goals. However, do not focus on materialistic goals such as money and property, look at your intrinsic motivation. You need to trust those signals, even when you are down and out and you do not think things are possible, those signals are always shining. All you have to do is take those signals, and trust them. Do not spend your entire life trying to make people proud of you. Work on satisfying your fire in the belly and focusing on what you are really excited about and then people will be proud of you, that is the lens you should look towards rather than doing something purely to try and please others. Your intuition will allow you to look at the intentions of others, why they want to be your friend and whether their values match up with yours. All these things are what your intuition is calculating in a split second which will allow you to read people. It takes only 14 seconds to trust someone and your intuition will allow you to figure that out. BEST MOMENTS “All because it felt right.” “This is your intuition, these are your signals.” “Don’t look at somebody being proud of you as the driver.” “Intuition is always right and we just need to spend the time to figure out what those signals are.” ABOUT THE GUEST “Sunil Godse’s success is entirely built upon the foundation of intuition. Intuition helped him grow 6 ventures in his earlier entrepreneurial career to close to $20 million.Intuitive branding and business savvy had him completely transform a number of smaller ventures, taking them from 6 to 7 figures within a short period of time. An intuitively guided action had him being awarded a number of management consultant contracts for a few Fortune 500 companies to ramp up their profitability and brand loyalty. If you are looking to make sure that you are the brand of choice to those who matter by implementing intuitive branding that has you crushing your competition, who would you trust?” Website: https://www.sunilgodse.com/about/ ABOUT THE HOST The ‘Mighty Pete Lonton’ from the ‘Mighty 247’ company is your main host of ‘Fire In The Belly’. Ep 190E190: Nobody Should Be On This Planet Just To Exist - Brenda Neckvatal Interview

In today's episode Pete is joined by award-winning HR professional commonly known as the “HR Force of Nature”, Brenda Neckvatal to discuss her story and how she got to where she is today. Together they talk through deciding when to change your own narrative, how to have fire in the belly is to have gumption and desire and the importance of being open to anything and everything. KEY TAKEAWAYS Fire in the belly is your gumption. It is your desire for life and the big furnace inside you that keeps you going. If you do not have fire in the belly then you are not living, you're just existing. Nobody should be on this planet to just exist, everyone should be out there trying to live. We all have a narrative of how we see our life and where we see it going. What we don’t realise is that we are the author of that narrative and we can change it anytime we want to. There is nothing easy about doing it but you can change it anytime you want. It is all dependent on whether you want to put the time in to change it. Finding the right people in life and attaching your loyalties appropriately is a great way to further yourself. Let go of the people in your life that are not on the same page as you. As you grow older you will become a better judge of character. When you drop what you think you know and you are open to anything and everything, your eyes are widened. Your aperture opens up, you may not always like it and may not like what you find in the process or what you see in the mirror but it is much better to be open than closed. BEST MOMENTS “Nobody trusts anything but yet everyone is willing to listen to it.” “Nobody should be on this planet to just exist.” “We all have a narrative.” “I am a very loyal person.” ABOUT THE GUEST “Brenda is an award-winning HR professional and is often referred to as the “HR Force of Nature” by her clients. Not only does she help business leaders solve their most difficult people issues, she is a specialist in crisis management, government contracting HR compliance, and mentor to women in HR working in a HR department of one. She started as an HR sprout after fourteen years in retail management. She discovered that she really enjoyed helping people solve their unique problems and human resources offered her the ability to support her co-workers in a greater capacity. Having the benefit of working for a total of five Fortune 500 companies, she converted her experience into a series of focused best practices helping small businesses achieve their workforce goals. In her 30 year career in human resources and business, she has consulted to nearly 500 small businesses and C-suite leaders. She has optimized employee effectiveness and helped mitigate the high costs that are associated with making hasty employment related decisions. Brenda is a devoted volunteer in the Navy SEAL Community and finds new ways of supporting veterans of Naval Special Warfare. She dedicates 32 weeks a year working with The Honor Foundation to support the career transition of Special Forces personnel by providing them with her knowledge, insight, and creativity. Ep 189E189: I Have Finally Found My Purpose- Simon Haigh Interview

Leadership, brand and mindset growth strategist, Simon Haigh joins the mighty Pete today to discuss his journey through life and how over the past year, he has finally found his purpose in life which is to help and inspire people. Together they discuss the importance of matching your confidence with your capability, why there is no better version of you than you and why you should never compare yourself to others. KEY TAKEAWAYS Fire in the belly is about matching your confidence with your capability levels. Do what you love doing and make sure that it feels normal to you. Your calling should never feel like work to you, when this happens other people will feel the natural enthusiasm you have for it. Your fire in your belly is your purpose in life. Just accept who you are, there is no better version of you than you. There may be somebody who is smarter, better looking or faster at running than you, but they are just attributes and that is separate to you as a human. Stop striving to be better as a human, you are perfect just the way you are. As long as you are comfortable with where you are right now then there is no need to compare yourself to other people and their successes, that is just self-torture. As humans, our main purpose is to be there for each other and to enjoy every single moment in life. We are here to enjoy everything life has to offer and not just here to work. You need to work, you need to rest and you need to play. The dark side and the light side exist in all of us. There are negative forces out there that feed off certain people when they are vulnerable. You have to be careful about the darkside. Every human has the capacity to hate or to love. If you ignore the dark part of you and do not deal with your triggers or fears, they will eventually come back. BEST MOMENTS “I have finally found my purpose.” “There are seven and a half billion people in the world and there is no better version of you than you.” “My purpose is getting complicated things, simplifying them and then inspiring others.” ABOUT THE GUEST “ I am an in-demand business, leadership, brand & mindset growth strategist as a certified leadership coach, consultant, trainer, lecturer (negotiation and deal-making), mentor, author, speaker and media host. I am a tri-qualified (England & Wales, Australia and Ireland) commercial lawyer who, as an entrepreneur, has built and sold out of a number of technology, luxury items and travel companies. Ep 188E188: I Was Given A Second Chance - Vera Lee Curnow Interview

Inspirational Speaker, Artist, Author and Coach, Vera Lee joins Pete today to discuss how she has taken her own trauma, education and life experiences to help people see a different perspective of life and unleash their full potential. Together they discuss the importance of understanding that your identity is not wrapped up in your trauma, why you can feel broken, but understand that you are not actually broken and why you should forgive but not forget. KEY TAKEAWAYS Understand where your identity is and that it is not wrapped up in events that have happened to you or the people around you and who you want to be. Then, your fire in the belly will become your passion. Your fire in the belly will come when you realise that you have not been living your purpose and you have not been living with passion. You should never view yourself as broken, view yourself as feeling broken at certain times in your life. As a human, you don’t really break. You have scars and you have wounds that you can wear and choose to learn from and grow. No matter how deep and dark your experience has been, you can heal and you can feel positive again and lift others up at the same time instead of being beaten down and stripped bare. When wondering why some of your past trauma still hurts you so much when you have done so much work to recover, perhaps it is because you are still holding on to trying to work out how to forgive and You do not need to forget what happened to you, you need to honour what happened to you. For all the good, the bad and the ugly that has happened to you, you need to honour it without forgetting. Forgiving is so freeing and so healing that you don’t need to forget. You can forgive and still honour your trauma. BEST MOMENTS “I learnt to trust the process and I found my voice through visual art.” “Who I want to be and who I am are very aligned.” “That was pivotal in our recovery.” “Nothing has changed in the world except my perspective. I was given a second chance.” ABOUT THE GUEST Vera Lee Curnow: Inspirational Speaker, Artist, Author and Coach/Mentor. “I help people see the opportunity for growth through adversity and create the space for you to work through your own challenges and maximise your potential in work and life. Ep 187E187: Look Outward But Focus Inward: Amy Rowlinson Interview

DESCRIPTION Life purpose coach, podcast mentor and fulfilments leader, Amy Rowlinson joins the podcast today to talk us through her journey through life and how she created her passion plan which enables people to focus on their why. Together, Pete and Amy discuss how your fire in the belly is a blend of all your values, why it is important to use your toughest life lessons to educate others and why there is so much in life to be discovered if you dare to look for it. KEY TAKEAWAYS It is all about understanding when you are ‘in-flow’ and realising that life is not just about ‘finding your why’. Focus on your ‘why’ and understand that your ‘why’ is a constant and is not just one piece of information about you that you do for an exercise. Carry your why through and follow that thread in your life. Look outward but focus inwards. Fire in the belly is a blend of all your values. It doesn't come from a materialistic perspective but it comes from a meaningful and purposeful perspective. Fire in the belly is passion, purpose, freedom and brilliance. Have that fire in the belly every single day, whilst you are still earthside, you are not done. It is important to always see a balance in life. Where you see conflict you must also see peace, where you see intelligence you must also see ignorance. There are always both elements present but you always chose to see one over the other. It is often when we do not see the positive sides and focus on the negative sides that we have an unbalanced viewpoint. Do not live by your regret. Use your mistakes to help educate others in the ways that you have learnt some tough life lessons. There is so much in life to be found, discovered or unearthed if you dare to look. Often, people are just sitting there. It is usually right there with you, it is just a case of listening to yourself, being true to yourself and exploring your options in a deeper fashion, only then will you get the answers that you need. BEST MOMENTS “Look outward but focus inward.” “It is not a quick fix, it is an ongoing focus.” “Whilst I am still breathing, I am not done.” “To see the light you have got to see the dark.” “It is difficult to know if I have been in the past, because I often feel like I have been to the future as well.” ABOUT THE GUEST “Hi, I’m Amy Rowlinson. Ep 186E186: Don’t let the opinion of others block your future”- Grainne McCoy Interview

Apprentice UK semi-finalist, experienced make-up artist and business owner, Grainne McCoy joins Pete today to discuss how she risked everything to open up a brand new shop during the pandemic and how she has taken it from strength to strength. Together they discuss how arrogance of a business owner can block the company's growth, how the pandemic has encouraged people to support local businesses and why you should not fixate yourself with the negative things people may say about you. KEY TAKEAWAYS So many people would not admit that their business is not good at certain things, however, this is how your business grows. If there is any sort of arrogance within the owner of the business who thinks that they can do everything right and not take any criticism then it is never going to work. If you dwell on an idea too much and do not create action straight away, the fear overtakes the idea and it will not end up happening. You have to be very quick and savvy about what you want to do, get your first idea out there about how you want to do something and follow through with it. Have that mindset of ‘I don’t know how to do it, but I will figure it out along the way”. One good thing that has come out of the pandemic is the movement for others to support local business owners. ‘Support local’ has to continue post pandemic as well as the ‘be kind’ movement. It is really important for society and it cannot just be a pandemic thing. Everyday is a school day. If you know who you are and wake up in the morning and you think the same as the day before and act the same with somebody you’ve never met before as you would with your mother, then you know you are authentic. If people do not understand you, then they will have to move on, because you cannot change and you shouldn't want to change just because some people do not understand you. Going through life, you are going to come across people that do not like you. Everybody is not meant to like you and if you were to get so fixated on comments about you, then you will really put yourself into a dark hole. If you concentrate on people that do not get you you will pull your true self back, always remember there are a lot more people who do get you, than who don’t. BEST MOMENTS “Don’t let the opinion of others block your future.” “Ask, believe and receive is great, but where is the work?” “I think people are starting to realise that we definitely need to support the locals.” “It was born in a lockdown, it was my lockdown baby.” “Do people get me? I don’t think so..” ABOUT THE GUEST “Grainne McCoy is known for being a Semi-Finalist on The Apprentice UK in 2016. With an average of 8 million viewers tuning in each week.
