Film School Janitors Review Films

A NIC CAGE MOVIE THAT TAKES PLACE ON CHRISTMAS EVE? YES, PLEASE! The Film School Janitors are back in school, and they're going to Nic Cage University! Their goal is to watch and review every film Nicolas Cage has ever made... and will ever make! This week's assignment: TRAPPED IN PARADISE This (weak) riff on "It's a Wonderful Life!" follows three criminal brothers as they rob a bank in a small town... that steals their heart! One of the Film School Janitors had a fondness for this movie back in the day, but does it hold up? Listen to find out!

What do you get when you mix Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell? a) Corny dad humor? b) Drunk on Aviator gin and Janet Reno impressions? c) A musical extravaganza based on "A Christmas Carol"? Well, you probably get a little bit of all three, but SPIRITED is the correct answer, and it's sort of a sequel to the Dickens classic. Could the Film School Janitors handle the musical interludes? Listen and find out!

Happy Holidays from the Film School Janitors as they review THE GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY HOLIDAY SPECIAL! That's it. No ribbons, no wrapping paper, no bag with tissue paper. All you get is this review of the preview to next year's third installment of the franchise.

The Film School Janitors are back in school, and they're going to Nic Cage University! Their goal is to watch and review every film Nicolas Cage has ever made... and will ever make! This week's assignment: BAD LIEUTENANT: PORT OF CALL NEW ORLEANS Is this story about a wayward policeman one of the most Nic Cage-iest movies ever? The Film School Janitors sure think so! Listen to find out how to hallucinate iguanas!

This review was supposed to accompany the review for the TV show prequel, but some of the Film School Janitors are taking their sweet time getting to it. And in this review for ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY, a new (hope) game begins... "Recalling Rogue One." Is it as thorough of a review as it could have been? Have you ever listened the to Film School Janitors before?!

The Film School Janitors are back in school, and they're going to Nic Cage University! Their goal is to watch and review every film Nicolas Cage has ever made... and will ever make! This week's assignment: DOG EAT DOG From director Paul Schrader comes a Nic Cage / Willem Dafoe insanity fest. Fresh out of jail and hellbent on enjoying life on the outside, our antagonistic protagonists jump from small job to the next until they hit the big one - that may be their last! Listen to the Film School Janitors recap the madness!

All aboard ...for murder... That makes it sound like an Agatha Christie story, but this is about as opposite of that as you can get! BULLET TRAIN follows a gaggle of ne'er-do-wells (read: murderers, hitmen, and hitwomen) who are traveling on cross-country via train, and they are either trying to kill each other, steal money, or both. It's kinetic as hell, but is it any good? Hear what the Film School Janitors think!

The Film School Janitors are back in school, and they're going to Nic Cage University! Their goal is to watch and review every film Nicolas Cage has ever made... and will ever make! This week's assignment: CITY OF ANGELS This is a classic from Nic Cage's romantic film era (as opposed to his revenge era). He's a stalker/angel that falls in love with Meg Ryan, and yada yada yada. Everybody should know this film, but did the Film School Janitors? Of course they did! I already said everybody knows this film!

Just some Film School Janitors follow-up thoughts and discussions about other comic book news and flavors of alcoholic drinks...

Welcome to podcast #500! The Film School Janitors have been doing these reviews for awhile now. Their first was BLACK PANTHER and now they're reviewing its sequel, WAKANDA FOREVER! How does the film handle the loss of its lead, Chadwick Boseman, and the introduction of an entirely new land and people (Talokan and Namor)? Listen to find out!

The Film School Janitors are back in school, and they're going to Nic Cage University! Their goal is to watch and review every film Nicolas Cage has ever made... and will ever make! This week's assignment: THE HUMANITY BUREAU It's a post-apocalyptic-ish world, and the Humanity Bureau basically chooses who lives and who dies. Nic Cage tries to (Logan's) Runaway with a mother and child, and his old friend tries to kill him. This movie is not good, and the Film School Janitors explain why. Take a listen!

Yes, Virginia, there is a Roku Channel! WEIRD: THE AL YANKOVIC STORY is a spoof biopic about the eponymous singer, and how does the spoofing compare to his many song spoofs? Spoof spoof, spoof, spoof-spoof spoof. (Sorry, turned into a Spoof Smurf or Spoof Snarf there for a second.) Check out the Film School Janitors review as if your life depended on it!!

So... Rodney and Sean were going to review the first season of Netflix's THE SANDMAN while they were waiting for Jay, who has not seen the show. They mostly talk about needing glasses, but before they can continue, Jay swears he will watch the show... The Film School Janitors still have not reviewed THE SANDMAN... yet...

Another podcast previously thought lost, if you were actually thinking, "Hey, did the Film School Janitors ever review THE PERFECTION on Netflix?" This one has a guest reviewer and everything! What's the films about? Cellos. Drugs. Amputation. Revenge. Sounds great!

The Film School Janitors try to name G.I. JOE characters until they can't. That's it. BONUS INFO: This was another lost podcast from 2019, so you'll get to hear Sean's wish that they would make 6-inch G.I. JOE figures, and you'll be happy to know that it comes true in real-life!

So this is a true LITTER BITS - a mash-up of edits from three podcasts regarding Rodney's new invention. What began (and still exists) in the I AM MOTHER review (a Netflix movie), continued in the third season review of JESSICA JONES (cut from episode), and completed in (and also cut from) the PERFECTION review (another Netflix flick). Are we proud about it? Not really...

This old lost podcast has had enough time to fully mature and develop mutant powers of its own, much like THE NEW MUTANTS. And like THE NEW MUTANTS, this podcast has been locked in mental facility. If you want to find out what those powers are, listen to what the Film School Janitors have to say about the last X-MEN film made by Fox, but the first technically released by Disney.

True story: Vin Diesel makes movies other than ones in the Fast & Furious franchise, BLOODSHOT is one of those movies. It's based on a comic book about a guy powered by nanobots (nanites, specifically, duh)and out for revenge. Is there talk of family? Sure. Are there fast cars? Honestly, I don't recall, but probably. Does he have a gravelly voice? Abso-fricking-lutely! Did the Film School Janitors lose this podcast for awhile? Of course!

Yikes! This is an old one! 'memba when Netflix used to have Marvel TV shows? Well, JESSICA JONES third season was the last of that bunch, and the last of the podcasts Film School Janitors made about those series. Like Jessica, it was lost, but now it's found, and it's here should you choose to hear it!

The Film School Janitors are back in school, and they're going to Nic Cage University! Their goal is to watch and review every film Nicolas Cage has ever made... and will ever make! This week's assignment: KNOWING One of the few true sci-fi entries on Mr. Cage's resume, KNOWING follows his mad quest to unravel what a bunch of numbers on a piece of paper mean. Spoiler alert: it's the end of the world! Join the Film School Janitors as they examine another Nic Cage film for their studies, and hopefully Rodney scribbling numbers doesn't mean the same!

Is it really fair to compare an animated film with its live-action remake? Darn tootin' it is! The Film School Janitors watched both the original anime film, GHOST IN THE SHELL, and Scarlett Johansson's live-action remake. How do they compare? Other than one is a cartoon and one is cartoonish, of course...

It says it right there in the title!

What a time for the two stars of these two remakes of a very old film. Brendan Fraser is experiencing a little bit of a comeback, and Tom Cruise just experienced the biggest film of his lengthy career. So join the Film School Janitors as they unwrap both of their versions of THE MUMMY! (This is another lost podcast that was gathering dust...)

In what was the original PULLING A DOUBLE episode (previously lost on another computer), the Film School Janitors review both MIGHTY MORPHIN (no apostrophe) POWER RANGERS: THE MOVIE and the strangely re-imagined remake/reboot POWER RANGERS. How to the two compare? Does the first one hold up? Is there anything for the first one to "hold up"? Is the remake as bad as fans made it seem? Listen to find out!

Another podcast left too long in the back of the fridge, but this one likes it cold! In America, we know very little about Eurovision, but EUROVISION SONG CONTEST: THE STORY OF FIRE SAGA will change all that! Or at least, that's what star Will Ferrell probably hoped. Did it make fans out of the Film School Janitors? Listen to find out!

Just like Eddie Murphy took forever to make this sequel, it took the Film School Janitors almost as long to find this lost review of COMING 2 AMERICA! How did it stand up 2 the original? Listen and find out!

The Film School Janitors have been hiding because they heard there were m-m-m-monsters out there, and they would l-l-l-love to come out from the bunker. That's why this review for LOVE AND MONSTERS is sooooo timely. (That, and it was lost in a computer switch, but now it's found for you to enjoy!)

Hey, did you hear the one about how the Film School Janitors reviewed GODZILLA VS. KONG? It was never "unleashed"! Probably would have been better if it was a movie about dogs instead of giant creatures. This is another podcast lost in the shuffle between computers. Enjoy better late than never!

This might be another one of those situations where you haven't heard about this film. But this time, the Film School Janitors can assure you, this is one you should know. Go watch THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN before listening to this podcast, and before watching any trailers. If you liked/loved IN BRUGES, it reunites the two main stars and the writer/director. It's the story of two friends breaking up. That's it. Oh, go on ahead and listen to this podcast either way! It's your fecking choice, after all!

The marketing was on point for the new horror film, SMILE, but did it make the Film School Janitors smile or frown? It definitely jump-scared them. Listen to find out more!

This is from that one time that Rodney and Sean tried the DEATH NUT CHALLENGE while Jay laughed his behind off at their misery. A lost Film School Janitors Litter Bits!

This is a lost podcast from last year, but it's not a NETFLIX AND CHILLED entry because it aired on HBO Max during COVID. That's a lot of caps locked words, but here are a few more: the Film School Janitors watched THOSE WHO WISH ME DEAD, and this is their review of the Angelina Jolie thriller/action movie about a smokejumper that has to protect a boy in a blazing forest from a couple of hitmen. Yup, that pretty much covers it...

This one has been lost for a bit! The Film School Janitors were (finally) cleaning out the fridge when they found this review for UNICORN STORE stuck way in the back. It was Brie Larson's directorial debut, and featured her future costar Samuel L. Jackson. Is there an actual unicorn in the film? You can always listen to this old, lost podcast and find out now!

So here we go 'round(kick) again! Rodney and Sean watched the entire fifth season of COBRA KAI, and Jay only watched the last episode. How much did Jay miss, and how much did Jay pick up on? Listen to find out!

The Rock has been cooking this for a while! The Film School Janitors saw BLACK ADAM, and how did it turn out? Listen to find out! What do you mean, "Is that all you're going to write?" What else is there to say?

It's not quite a puzzle box that invites pleasure demons from Hell, but how does the reboot of HELLRAISER stack up against the original? The Film School Janitors discuss both films in this review. Check it out!

The Film School Janitors are back in school, and they're going to Nic Cage University! Their goal is to watch and review every film Nicolas Cage has ever made... and will ever make! This week's assignment: PAY THE GHOST When Nic Cage's son disappears on Halloween night, there appears to be something more insidious, more sinister, at hand. No seriously - it's more like those two movies than a kidnapping one. Spend Halloween with the Film School Janitors as they review this supernatural NCU entry!

This is sort of the second half of the season finale of HOUSE OF THE DRAGON! While the last episode focused on the Greens and their reaction to the passing of King Viserys, this episode follows the Blacks - namely Rhaenyra and Daemon Targaryen. Who do the Film School Janitors side with? Listen and find out! Then check back in during 2024 for Season 2!

This is it! The end of an era! Thank goodness! (Or thank evil?) The Film School Janitors watched HALLOWEEN ENDS because they watched the previous two. How did they feel about that? Listen to find out!

Let's see... where to begin setting this movie up... UNINVITED (the one from 1987 - there are quite a few named this) is about a cat that has something else living inside it on a yacht traveling to the Caribbean during spring break. Some gangsters, a handful of college-age students and a young captain find themselves terrorized by the thing inside the cat. You see, that's what's UNINVITED! And believe me - I'm making this thing sound boring, and it's anything but. You can watch a preview or listen to this first, but you might spoil some of the zaniness. No matter what, you're invited to the Film School Janitors' review of this lost oddity. Enjoy!

Can you believe it's been almost 30 years since the first HOCUS POCUS was released? Can you believe HOCUS POCUS 2 was actually finally made? Strangest of all, can you believe the Film School Janitors watched and reviewed both?! Not without a little toil and trouble (and bubble drinks) at least...

The further experimenting with format by Marvel brings us the Halloween-iest show yet - WEREWOLF BY NIGHT! Unfortunately, it's a single episode special, but fortunately for the Film School Janitors, that means a lot less time spent watching another show. Listen to find out what they thought about it!

The Film School Janitors are back in school, and they're going to Nic Cage University! Their goal is to watch and review every film Nicolas Cage has ever made... and will ever make! This week's assignment: G-FORCE This may not be a live-action Nic Cage movie (well, it is live-action but Nic Cage voices one of the animals), but it still involves one of his patented death scenes. Listen to what the Film School Janitors have to say about this spy movie made for kids (that's not Spy Kids)!

The penultimate episode of HOUSE OF THE DRAGON's first season follows the death of King Viserys from the perspective of half of our characters (basically all of them in King's Landing). It basically followed Alicent and Otto race to find Aegon, but was it exciting? It sure was for someone it the show that likes toes! Listen to the Film School Janitors' review for more!

The Film School Janitors are back in school, and they're going to Nic Cage University! Their goal is to watch and review every film Nicolas Cage has ever made... and will ever make! This week's assignment: KICK-ASS When a teen (who is bleeping annoying) decides to become a real-life superhero, a real-life dynamic duo (one of which is Chloe Grace Moretz and the other is our guy, Nic Cage) has to step in and save his (kick) ass. The Film School Janitors watched this back in the day, and does it still hold up today? Listen to find out!

The last episode of SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW has smashed through the fourth wall and into your hearts... maybe??? Listen to find out what the Film School Janitors thought about the fourth-wall breaking shenanigans and cameos in the (first?) season finale!

Not gonna lie - didn't expect the Film School Janitors to review the live-action update of Disney's PINOCCHIO, but they did! Are they Tom Hanks completists? Are they remake completists? Or are they simply gluttons for punishment? Listen to find out which!

Let's do the time warp again! Six years have passed since episode seven of HOUSE OF THE DRAGON, so that means there is widespread peace and calm in episode eight, right? There's not even peace and calm amongst the Film School Janitors in this review!

The Film School Janitors are back in school, and they're going to Nic Cage University! Their goal is to watch and review every film Nicolas Cage has ever made... and will ever make! This week's assignment: DRIVE ANGRY This one is about a father/grandfather breaking out of hell to get revenge, and it ain't all that different from most of Mr. Cage's offerings except for the fact that this one used to be in 3D! It ain't anymore, unless you get the 3D Blu-ray, have a 3D Blu-ray player (or PS4), and an old 3D TV! NOTE: One of the Janitors have all the above.

The moment we've all been waiting for has finally arrived - the Film School Janitors review of the penultimate episode of SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW! (Oh, and Daredevil finally shows up in episode eight, so there's that, too.)
