The four things we fear the most

There are plenty of reasons to be afraid these days. But whether we are worried about COVID, flying, loneliness, our financial security, or the uncertainty of the future, most of our concerns are rooted in four major fears change, failure, loss and powerlessness. Yet, rather than addressing these fundamental fears, we usually focus on battling their different expressions as they surface. When a tree continues to produce unripe or flavorless fruit, just polishing the fruit or discarding it won t solve the tree s problems. To truly overcome our fears, we need to address them at their roots. Join me on Thursday, March 4th at Noon ET on Empowerment Radio, learn how to resolve your deepest fears and build a stronger foundation of trust and confidence.

Do you believe in miracles? - Featuring Dr. Michael Rosso

We have entered the age of disbelief. As cynicism and populism relentlessly attack science and common sense and the lines between lies and truth become almost indistinguishable, doubt and distrust replace curiosity and open-mindedness. So the notion that miracles exist may appear completely ludicrous. Yet, throughout history, humans have always had extraordinary experiences we called miracles events that fill us with wonder and bafflement. My guest on this upcoming episode of Empowerment Radio is author, researcher and philosopher, Dr. Michael Grosso. In his latest book, Smile of the Universe: Miracles in an Age of Disbelief , Dr. Grosso provides evidence for the reality of phenomena we perceive as healings, levitation, bilocation and much more. Join us for a mind-expanding interview and learn why Dr. Grosso believes that miracles are facts of the natural world pointing toward something supernatural.

What are your questions about fear and anxiety?

While our society may appear as divided as ever, there is one thing we all can agree on: 2020 made us come face to face with fear and anxiety. Some may have encountered these challenging emotions for the first time, while others may have felt even more trapped and overwhelmed than usual. Most people who are anxious and afraid wonder how they can get rid of these utterly uncomfortable feelings. There is a lot of confusing, misleading and disempowering information about fear and anxiety out there. One common misconception is that we can get rid of these emotions by either fighting or ignoring them. In my almost twenty years of experience helping people overcome fear and anxiety, I can tell you that the opposite is the case. The best way to heal fear and anxiety is to approach them with curiosity and compassion. How? Join me this Thursday, December 3, on Empowerment Radio, where I will answer this and any of your questions on how to grow from and beyond fear and anxiety. Send me your questions at [email protected] or during the show, call 1 800 930 2819 or leave a comment on my Facebook page.

Four things you want to stop avoiding to be more confident

Most people stay away from certain aspects of their lives that make them feel uncomfortable, whether it is a dental appointment, dinner with the nagging in-laws, or the stack of bills that has been piling up in the drawer. Yet, there are four things you should no longer avoid if you want to gain more confidence and self-worth, which are change, conflict, emotions, and yourself. While the avoidance of change lets you get stuck in your comfort zone, staying away from conflict prevents you from having a voice, advocating for yourself, or setting boundaries. Ignoring your emotions makes you go through life without inner guidance, and avoiding yourself, in the end, leads you to never feel at home and at ease with who you are. Join me on Thursday, July 2nd at 9AM PT / Noon ET on Empowerment Radio and learn the insights and tools on how to make letting go of avoidance comfortable and empowering.

The power of surrender

During this time of change and uncertainty, fighting for those we love and care about, for keeping what we have and reclaiming what we lost, seems to be the most courageous choice. We were taught that what makes the difference for those people who get what they want, is their determination to fight for it. Yet when despite our greatest efforts we don t succeed, letting go and surrendering can be the bravest and wisest choice we can make. Surrender isn t defeat, giving up or powerlessness. To surrender is choose acceptance over resistance, appreciation over expectations and flexibility over foolishness. Or in the words of Joseph Campbell: We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us. Join me this Thursday on Empowerment Radio and learn how to practice the powerful art of surrender.

Heartfulness – the five secrets to greater peace and fulfillment

With the coronavirus epidemic dominating the news and the upcoming election just around the corner, for many people, the list of things to worry about just keeps getting longer. Do you spend more time worrying about the future than enjoying the present moment? Or, do you try hard to ignore your emotions, because they may only distract you from making sure that all your obligations and expectations are met? In my practice, I often hear my clients lament that they spend most of their time either on an emotional roller-coaster, or checked-out on auto-pilot mode, going through the motions while the years are passing by them more and more quickly. Yet, neither worry or anxiety, nor living solely in our heads will make our lives more peaceful or fulling. I just came back from our 12th transformational journey to Egypt, which my wife, Danielle, and I have co-lead since 2002. One of the phenomena of these journeys is that each day is filled with so much joy and meaning, 2 weeks seem like a month. This time, I was asking myself, what are the secrets that make this time so much more meaningful and fulfilling? And how can we integrate those secrets into our day-to-day lives? The answer is practicing heartfulness, which is the heart-centered extension of mindfulness. Join me this Thursday March 5th on Empowerment Radio and learn the 5 secrets to heartfulness, so that you can bring more peace and fulfillment into your life.

Encore: Rumi to the Rescue - with Kamla K. Kapur

Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed by life s challenges? Lost when it comes to finding your path? Confused about the meaning of it all? In our fast-paced society, with little time and even shorter attention-spans, we are more and more losing the ability to sit with suffering or patiently observe our own distress. The goal is more to avoid discomfort at all costs, whether through distractions, pharmaceuticals, social media or any readily available pleasure. Yet, the suffering we ignore doesn't disappear, and questions we avoid don't get answered. The ancient mystic, Rumi, taught us to have faith in the power of suffering to embrace it, even if it is painful. Rumi understood pain as a symptom that our closed hearts are breaking open. My special guest on the next episode of Empowerment Radio is Kamla Kapur, author of Rumi, Tales of the Spirit. In her new book Kamla collected twelve fresh and powerful tales of the timeless storyteller Rumi, which guide us through the trials of life and teach us to embrace suffering, to pray even when it feels hopeless, and ultimately, to surrender to the cosmic will. Join me and Kamla this Thursday, November 21st at 9AM PT / 12PM ET, and learn from ancient wisdom, and how our trials and hard times can be the fuel for greater healing, wholeness and happiness. Are you afraid of death?

For most of us, the fear of death is almost as inevitable as the event itself. It is a fear that makes us want to eat healthier, drink less, work out more and maybe, once in a while, even get a colonoscopy. Yet, no matter what we do, we can't avoid the fact that we all have an expiration date. This is why, for most of us, avoiding thoughts about death seems like the best option to cope. However, while avoiding this topic can reduce a little discomfort in the short term, it probably makes us much more anxious about dying in the long term. But, what if there are ways to find more peace and acceptance with death, while acknowledging what it can teach us about life? Join me on Empowerment Radio (and on Facebook Live) this Thursday, November 7th at 9AM PT / Noon ET to learn ways on how to overcome the fear of our mortality. Missed an episode? The Power of the Divine Feminine

We are living in a world that has many challenges to deal with climate change, energy and water shortages, inequality of wealth, racism and other prejudices, etc. Without being overly judgmental, the fact is that all of these problems arose under the command of the patriarchy. But rather than bringing the world back into balance by empowering women as equals and seeking their advice and leadership, men continue to abuse, control and suppress the feminine power. Yet, the me-too movement, the midterm election and the number of female presidential candidates demonstrates that women are no longer willing to be pushed to the sidelines. There were times in history, where Goddesses and heroines were revered and respected and their stories kept alive for hundreds of years to inspire and empower women. My guest on this upcoming episode of Empowerment Radio is award-winning author and scholar in mythology Dr. Ayn Cates Sullivan. With her books Legends of the Grail and Heroines of Avalon, she has brought to life, for this generation, the stories of the powerful British and Irish female mythological figures as inspiration to all those who wish to live in harmony with the earth. Listen to our interview this Thursday, May 16th at 9AM PT / 12PM ET, and learn more about the ancient teachings on how to harness the gifts and magic of their feminine essence.

Are you struggling with FOMO or FOSO?

Whether you are afraid of speaking up in front of your co-workers, or not being invited to a party of your friends, you are not alone. The fear of missing out (FOMO) and the fear of standing out (FOSO) are some of the most pervasive forms of social anxiety. FOMO and FOSO have two things in common: they trigger in us tribal-consciousness rooted fears of abandonment and not belonging; in response, they tempt us to deny ourselves our natural desire to discover and express our authentic selves. Instead of wondering who we really are and what we want, we only ask ourselves, who we need to be in order to fit in. If you have been dealing with FOMO or FOSO, join me on Thursday, May 2nd at 9AM PT / 12PM ET for the next episode of Empowerment Radio, and learn effective ways to outgrow these fears and find the courage to be true yourself.
