This mug is in celebration of the 60th anniversary of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room and features a tiki version of Jose! This year, the Oogie Boogie Bash will take place on 25 select nights from September 5th through October 31st. The Plaza de la Familia and Tributes to Dia de los Muertos are also back from September 1st through November 2nd. Of course the Haunted Mansion Holiday, Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark, Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-o-ween are all back, along with the Halloween Screams fireworks at Disneyland. – Disneyland Announces 2023 Oogie Boogie Bash Dates, Return of Halloween Time, Plaza de la Familia on Sept. 1 | Disney Parks Blog (go.com) California residents have a new ticket deal for this summer. The deal allows guests to visit the parks for three days for as little as $83 a day. There is a slight catch; the tickets are not valid on Fridays through Sundays at that price. To upgrade to a ticker with no limitations, the price goes to $100 a day. These are one park per day tickets, with no park hopping. Another new set of ears is from the movie Elemental. This set features Ember Lumen and Wade Ripple, the two main characters from the movie representing fire and water. DisneylandForward is the plan to promote future ideas for the Disneyland Resort to the public and the government of Anaheim to start planning for the future. The biggest priority at the moment is to earn good will with the city to re-zone the parking areas around the resort to mixed use, which will allow Disney the option to do almost anything they can think of with the space. - https://www.micechat.com/286075-disneylandforward-explained-future-expansion/ A change to the reservation system at Disneyland took place this past week. Guests can now modify their reservations without the need to cancel the existing reservation first. This includes starting park and the date of the visit. The Cheddar Garlic Bagel Twist has moved to Edelweiss Snacks in Fantasyland and the Churro Gears have disappeared. At the 10:30pm showing of Fantasmic! on Saturday, there was a malfunction with the system that the dragon in the finale, lovingly referred to as Murphy, which caused the dragon to catch fire, and was close to, if not a complete loss of the animatronic. No cast members or guests were injured, but some were treated for smoke inhalation. No official word from Disney on when the show will return or what they plan to do with the damaged dragon. The biggest issue is just all the guests who want to be in the new land and experience all of the changes. It is still a rather small area, so even a modest amount of guests can make the area feel overcrowded. Stroller parking is also an issue, with cast members constantly trying to rearrange them to provide more space. The refreshed land greeted guests as a soft opening on Saturday after a media event, and then officially opened on Sunday. The newly reopened section has some of the same features that guests really liked in the already opened section for Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. Well, last week they finally announced TWO Disneyland After Dark Nies coming to Disneyland. Disneyland After Dark: Throwback Nite will celebrate the 50's and 60's, with music and entertainment that will pay tribute to Disneyland's first 10 years. "Fantasy in the Sky" fireworks will be performed, classic dancing, treats from the early days of Disneyland, and more! For Star Wars Nite, "Star Wars: Celebrate the Nite" fireworks will perform, the March of the First Order returns, a Lightsaber instructional demonstration and more will be happening. With the attraction opening, guests will be utilizing a virtual queue, with no standby access. Starting February 4th, guests with the ability to park hop will be able to switch parks at 11am, instead of the current 1pm time. More dates have been added to the calendar at the $104 ticket level, bringing it up to nearly two months of days at the lowest ticket price. Throughout the Disney100 celebration, digital attraction photos will be complimentary starting February 4th. This is limited to digital attraction photos only. Also announced were more opportunities to join the Magic Key program throughout 2023 as pass inventory becomes available. The Resort announced the return of Sweetheart's Nite, with the addition of Princess Nite later on in the Spring. After months of speculation, the treehouse will be home to a new family and pay tribute to the original 1962 attraction, the Swiss Family Robinson. Tony Cabrera of ABC7 News was able to visit “it’s a small world” overnight to see the changes taking place to prepare it for “it’s a small world holiday.” On his TikTok, he can be seen walking through the flume in the attraction, which has been drained, and alking about the decorations. One interesting piece of information is that the holiday decorations are hidden behind black curtains of the attraction. “it’s a small world holiday” opens on November 10th this year. First, a second edition Gargoyle mug was released just before Halloween. This is the fourth version of this mug to be released, the others being two from Club 33, and another Trader Sam’s version. This version is glazed in teal. In addition to the tiki mug, the bar closed for two separate mixology classes at 4:4:30 pm and 7 pm. The classes were not officially announced by Disney, but word spread quickly and they sold out. The classes were $202 after tax and gratuity and taught guests how to make the new “Gothic Jungle” coctail and the “Disquieting Metamorphosis” drinks. To begin with a bang, Disneyland announced the opening date of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway! Starting January 27th, guests will be able to take a trip through the El Capitoon theater with Mickey and Minnie. Now, the rest of Mickey’s Toontown is not going to open just yet, just the attraction. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/10/disney100-celebration-at-disneyland-resort-begins-jan-27-2023/ Not only will Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway open for the celebration, but the icon of Disneyland – Sleeping Beauty Castle will see a makeover. The castle will celebrate wonder with platinum banners and bunting, and accented with the three Good Fairies. One of the most exciting upgrades will be two majestic water fountains on either side of the moat. Finally, a wishing star will sparkle from atop the large roof of the castle. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/10/disney100-celebration-at-disneyland-resort-begins-jan-27-2023/ In a surprise move by Disneyland, ticket prices went up this Monday. Usually, these changes happen in the beginning of the year, but not this time. On average, the ticket prices increased $5 this time. THere is an additional tier of ticket, which moves the previous ticket levels down, now starting at Tier 0, which is the old Tier 1. Pricing has remained $104 for the now tier 0 ticket, and increased to $179 for the Tier 6 level, up $15 from last time. Adding park hopping now costs $5 more at $65 per ticket. Multi-day tickets went up between $30 and $35 per ticket. Preferred Parking and Hotel Valet parking has gone up $5 and $15 respecively. Genie+ is now $25 per day and they have implemented demand-based pricing with no high end price announced. Star View Station will have a mid-century space theme and have areas for seating, device charging, free wi-fi and more. It will be located on the second floor of what is now the Star Wars Launch Bay. Each level of Magic Key will see a price increase from as little as $50, to as much as $200 for the high end key. The Dream Key, which was the top end key when the program started and had no blockout dates has been retired and replaced with a Inspire key, priced at $1599. The MagicBand+ will change colors depending on if you are heading in the right direction and change to purple when the bounty is found. The Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage has set sail again, taking guests on the voyage under the seas to find Nemo. The attraction has been closed for over two and a half years – since before the COVID shutdown and was planned to come back in the winter of 2021, but was extended until this week. This would add $2 to $4 to each ticket for a one-day, one-park ticket, depending on the season. Shortly after it opened, it broke down for part of the day, before returning to service later in the day. Two military bands were on hand to entertain guests. The entrance queue that was completely rebuilt looks nearly identical to what was there before.
