Ep 202Mining Gold and Silver and Generating Green Electricity in Guatemala Jack Lundin

In this episode we chat to Jack Lundin, President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director of Bluestone Resources, a natural resource company focused on advancing the permitted, high-grade Cerro Blanco gold project located in south-eastern Guatemala; and the Mita Geothermal project, which is an advanced-stage renewable energy project, licensed to produce up to 50 megawatts of power. Jack is part of the Lundin family and Lundin group of companies that are renowned in the mining industry. Apart from being the CEO of Bluestone, Jack holds a number of board positions and is on the podcast today to talk about the Bluestone Resources and the Lundin Group of companies. KEY TAKEAWAYS Natural resources are needed to advance society. The world needs sustainable resource development. The industry needs to also get better at involving the communities of the host countries. Jack´s grandfather founded the company. He was a visionary who never let geographical challenges stand in his way. Successful resources companies find ways to provide value to the communities they work in, shareholders, employees, partners, and other stakeholders. The Lundin Group has projects that are in every phase of the mining lifecycle. Bluestone Resources is a Canadian-listed, junior mining company. They have two projects in Guatemala – Cerro Blanco, a high-grade gold and silver project, and a renewable energy geothermal project. They are working towards a feasibility study for a low-risk, low operating cost, open-pit project at Cerro Blanco. The geothermal project is licenced to produce up to fifty megawatts of renewable energy. Mining is a cyclical industry, which means you need to build projects to be able to stay the course. Once the quality of a resource meets their criteria, Bluestone´s focus is on ensuring they exploit it in a way that truly benefits the community. BEST MOMENTS ‘We need to get better at looking at sustainable development. ´ ‘We’ve had a very busy 2021 and were looking forward to having an even busier and more productive 2022.’ ‘I’m very proud of all my brothers and their work.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Website: https://bluestoneresources.ca/ Email: [email protected] Website: https://thelundingroup.com/ VALUABLE RESOURCES Email: [email protected] Website: https://www.mining-international.org/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/MiningRobTyson Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DigDeepTheMiningPodcast/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theminingpodcast/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/DigDeepTheMiningPodcast/videos ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is an established recruiter in the mining and quarrying sector and decided to produce the “Dig Deep” The Mining Podcast to provide valuable and informative content around the mining industry. Ep 200Building a Career You Love While Making a Positive Difference with Mark Cutifani

Our 200th podcast episode features Mark Cutifani, CEO of Anglo American, one of the world’s biggest mining companies. In April of next year, he will be stepping down after 9 years at the helm. We have the privilege of spending some time with Mark to understand more about his career, his thoughts, wisdom, and his perception of the future of the mining industry as we enter a new era. An episode not to be missed. KEY TAKEAWAYS The best way to get to the next job is to do the current job well. Think about your career and plan. Maximize what you get out of your current and future roles. Be true to yourself, while supporting your people and building trust. When making tough decisions do the analysis, use your head, but if it does not feel right in your heart, don´t do it. Don´t avoid making decisions. Studies show that good leaders make twice as many decisions. Monitor how your decisions are turning out and fix anything that is wrong as quickly as possible. People want to be part of a purposeful organisation. Defining a purpose for your organization is an important aspect of successful leadership. Provide your general managers with the support to do their job well. They are the ones that directly manage 90% of your people. Mining has the smallest environmental footprint in the world with the largest economic benefit. Most people do not realise that. Miners are making a positive difference to the communities they work in, and most are striving hard to do even better. You can learn a huge amount from other sectors. Many of the recent mining efficiencies have come from outside the mining industry. There are seventy-six minerals in a smartphone. People simply do not realize how crucial mining is. Using wind, solar, hydropower, AI, and other tech, Anglo American will be carbon neutral by 2040. Anglo American conceived, designed, and launched their 300-tonne hydrogen truck in less time than it took Tesla to put their prototype on the road. Mining in a more precise and smarter way will greatly reduce energy consumption. BEST MOMENTS ‘I never wanted to be in a role where I thought that was the end of the line… I’m always looking to further myself. ´ ‘People are more than resources. They are the business.’ ‘My success… has been built on the back of so many people who have helped me to make better decisions because I´ve listened to their expertise.’ EPISODE RESOURCES The work Mark is most proud of - How Anglo Americans´ Development Partner Framework works - https://www.angloamerican.com/about-us/our-stories/forging-a-new-path-for-mining African Genesis by Robert Ardrey - https://www.amazon.co.uk/African-Genesis-Personal-Investigation-Origins/dp/0988604302/Organization Books by Elliott Jaques - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Elliott-Jaques/e/B000APGW34The Source - James A Michener - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Source-Novel-James-Michener-ebook/dp/B00FO60CHQ/The Covenant by James A Michener - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Covenant-Novel-James-Michener-ebook/dp/B00H6JHMMMBridget Jone´s Diary by Helen Fielding - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bridget-Joness-Diary-Helen-Fielding/dp/1447288939 VALUABLE RESOURCES Email: [email protected] Website: https://www.mining-international.org/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/MiningRobTyson Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DigDeepTheMiningPodcast/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theminingpodcast/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/DigDeepTheMiningPodcast/videos ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is an established recruiter in the mining and quarrying sector and decided to produce the “Dig Deep” The Mining Podcast to provide valuable and informative content around the mining industry. Akiba is a chemical engineer by background and worked in investment banking and holds a few board roles. He talks to us more about Mako Mining and what exciting things they have been up to in their ramp-up and exploration. KEY TAKEAWAYS Makro Mining has an area of 200 square meters to explore. Mako Mining has now commercialized the highest-grade gold open pit in the world in San Albino, Nicaragua. They have been in commercial production since July and are planning to ramp up to 1000 tonnes a day, in about a year. They are also fully permitted to start mining the Las Conchitas area from late 2022. Initial explorations show high-grade gold and silver at Las Conchitas. They believe that they are sitting on an orogenic mesothermal system covering 200sqkms, which typically contains millions of ounces of gold. There are currently 4 rigs turning at site, with 2 more due to start turning in January. In the podcast, Akiba explains in detail where they are and what they are looking for. All of this has been achieved despite CoVid and several severe weather events. The budget was $31 million, and it came in at $32.5 million. Nicaragua is a good jurisdiction for mining. Gold is one of the country´s largest exports. There are challenges, which Akiba talks about in detail. Including explaining how they have overcome them. The quality of labor in Nicaragua is excellent, they work hard and are happy to learn new skills. BEST MOMENTS ‘We have now commercialized what is the highest-grade open pit in the world. ´ ‘Pretty universally, the government is supportive of mining, particularly gold mining.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Website: https://makominingcorp.com/Twitter: https://twitter.com/MakoMiningCorpTwitter: https://twitter.com/AkibaLeismanEmail: [email protected] VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected]://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/http://www.mining-international.orghttps://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.orghttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 198Mining Silver in Mexico and Germany with Brendan Cahill

In this episode, we chat to Brendan Cahill, President & CEO of Excellon Resources who is a TSX listed Canadian mining company that is in full production with their 100% owned Platosa Mine in Durango in Mexico. It has been Mexico’s highest-grade silver mine since production commenced in 2005 Brendan has a background in law with a proven track record within the mining industry and talks about the fortunes of Excellon Resources and their Silver City project in Saxony, Germany which has a long history that many know. KEY TAKEAWAYS Excellon Resources has two projects in Mexico. Platosa Mine in Durango and a milling operation. In 2019, they optioned a project (Silver City) in Saxony Germany, which is a big focus of their exploration. In 2020, they acquired Otis Gold that has two projects – Kilgore and Oakley, as a way of diversifying their portfolio. The Kilgore project is open-pit with a low strip recovery ratio, only 1.1 to 1. Kilgore is a growth project. The plan is to explore deeper and go underground there. Coming out of the bear market many gold companies were undervalued, which is why they bought. Historic miners in Saxony mostly only mined near the surface. There is huge potential, a little deeper. Germany is now a good jurisdiction for miners. The government wants reliable access to the raw metals the country´s industries need. Shipping metals over long distances is not environmentally sustainable and politics mean it is not necessarily a stable option. The Chinese are stopping bitcoin mining and buying gold mines everywhere. BEST MOMENTS" "Kilgore has about a million ounces of gold. $300 million NPV at $1,800". "Coming into 2020… diversification… multi precious metals was a very effective strategy". "We in the Western world are losing access to raw materials". "The Chinese are stopping Bitcoin mining and yet continue to try to buy gold mines globally". Mark gives us an update on Cerrado Gold and around their Minera Don Nicholas operating mine and an update on what’s been happening at their Monte do Carmo project. KEY TAKEAWAYS Monte do Carmo, in Brazil is one of the highest-grade open-pit deposits in Latin America. In just one year, despite CoVid, they have nearly doubled production at Mineiro Don Nicolas, in Argentina. They are looking at expanding in Argentina by using heat leaching. If they go underground as well, there is potential to eventually double production in Argentina. Cerrado Gold went public in February 2021. Cash flow is excellent. They have finished their restructuring and caught up from the CoVid delays. There are a lot of incentives available in Argentina because the government wants to bring in US dollars. BEST MOMENTS ‘We´re generating 30 to 35 million of free cash. ´ ‘It’s a big property with lots of potential, lots of growth.’ ‘The infrastructure is amazing.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Episode 109 - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/taking-mining-public-with-mark-brennan/id1440020656?i=1000501146601 Website: https://www.cerradogold.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cerrado-gold/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/CerradoGold Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cerrado.gold/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Cerrado.Gold.Inc Email: [email protected] Mark Brennan LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/mark-brennan-356a59157/ VALUABLE RESOURCES Email: [email protected] LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson/ Website: https://www.mining-international.org/ Twitter: @MiningRobTyson Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/DigDeepTheMiningPodcast/videos ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 195Tapping Into the Rich Metal Resources of Cornwall Richard Williams, CEO of Cornish Metals

In this episode, we chat with Richard Williams, CEO of Cornish Metals who is an Associate Company of Osisko. They are building a portfolio of strategic metals assets in the United Kingdom and North America. Their near-term strategy is to focus on exploration of the near-surface high-grade copper and tin mineralization at the United Downs project in Cornwall, UK. Richard is a Professional Geologist who has over 30 years of experience in the mining and mineral exploration sector. Principally in southern Africa, and south and Central America. He talks about Cornish Metals. As well as the rich history of mining in Cornwall and what the area has to offer in the decades to come. KEY TAKEAWAYS The Cornish South Crofty asset they acquired already has planning permission and a new mine permit. It is the highest-grade tin project in the world that is not yet in production. Tin is essential to the tech markets, Internet of Things, and electrification. There is still a lot of high-quality tin, and other metals, available in Cornwall. The community around the South Crofty site is extremely supportive. They know it will generate wealth for the area. Old workings mean that 100% of the tailings can be put back underground. There is also copper, zinc, lithium, and silver in the area. Something that has been re-confirmed by recent drills. It is estimated that there will be around 33/34 pounds of tin for every tonne of rock. Extremely high grade. The process they plan to use to dewater the mine is specifically designed to improve the environment. Opportunities to generate green energy using the resources available on site are being investigated. The surface impact is anticipated to be minimal. South Crofty should be in production within 5 years. BEST MOMENTS ‘Today, about 50% of all tin consumed goes into solar electronics. ´ ‘The recorded average grades from those (old) mines was in excess of 7% copper.’ ‘A tonne of rock would be worth something in the order of $550 to $580 US.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Twitter: @CornishMetals LinkedIn: Cornish Metals Inc. Phil is the technical director and Tony is the Vice President and they tell us more about the company and the importance of backfill solutions within mine production. KEY TAKEAWAYS Simem engineers work collaboratively, across all systems and go into the field to install what they build. They work fast. For example, for the Polaris mine, they had a massive cement rockfill plant with heating built and on its way to the Canadian Arctic, within 12 weeks. Several other examples of their complex projects are explained, in detail, in the podcast. They have experience of working in every environment, including the most extreme conditions. There is a comprehensive explanation of what the different types of backfill are, in the podcast. CAF gives you better strength. Dried-out tailings can be used in Paste Backfill. The strengths are reproducible and known. Underground backfill plants present many challenges, which are discussed in the podcast. Paste Backfill is costly to set up, but for flagship, long-term mines they are usually the way to go. No job is too challenging for Simem Underground. BEST MOMENTS ‘We don’t look at just Canada or just North America, we are truly global. ´ ‘We do the full engineering design of the plants.’ ‘The biggest differentiator we have is experience…30 years of mine plant building.’ ‘No one is pigeonholed…. Ep 193Easy to Finance and Scale Eco-friendly Potash Production Interview with Mike Ferguson

In this episode, we chat to Mike Ferguson, President, and CEO of Gensource Potash who are a Canada-based fertilizer development company, which is focused on developing resource opportunities with a specific focus on potash development. Mike is a professional engineer with over 25 years of experience in potash and uranium and is leading the development of this greenfield property and tells us all about the company and their Tugaske project and the sustainable production methods used. KEY TAKEAWAYS Gensource Potash trades on the Toronto Venture Stock Exchange and the London AIM Market. Financing was very Europe-centric, so London is a good fit. Taking a modular approach enables them to start small and easily find finance, then ramp up as fast as the market allows. A single module of 250,000 tonnes production is a strong economic unit all by itself. These small modules can be run at 100% capacity from day one, which improves capital efficiencies. All product for the Saskatchewan facility is presold. A setup that virtually eliminates risk. Gensource is turning potash mining into something more akin to a manufacturing process. No salt tailings are created, which means no surface brine ponds. All of their power and heat are self-generated. They plan to become a true net-zero operation. Tugaske will be co-owned by Gensource and their partner Helm. The cyclical mining approach they use enables them to use 75% less freshwater per tonne of product. Working with Helm, Gensource is disrupting the market providing an alternative supply in a market where just five producer accounts for 75 to 80% of the supply. Gensource´s supply chain has been greatly simplified, which saves a lot of money. It also has an extremely low carbon footprint. A growing global population means demand for potash will continue to grow. Construction is due to start production, in 2024. BEST MOMENTS ‘We are dedicated 100% to potash development. ´ ‘Gensource is about doing things differently.’ ‘We simply have no waste; we have no tailings.’ ‘We self-generate all of our own power and heat.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Website: https://gensourcepotash.ca Twitter: https://twitter.com/gensourcepotash Email: [email protected] Call: 001 306 974 6414 VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 192Mining in Papua New Guinea Progress Report with Matt Salthouse of Kainantu Resources

In this episode, we chat with a returning guest who appeared in Episode 117 in February 2021. Matt Salthouse is the Chief Executive Officer at Kainantu Resources. An Asia-Pacific-focused gold mining company with two highly prospective gold projects in a premier mining region, the high-grade Kainantu gold district of Papua New Guinea (PNG). Matt gives us an update on what’s been happening in PNG and with Kainantu Resources over the last 10 months when he was last on the podcast. We discuss the May River acquisition, the north, and south program, and the FSE listing and capital management. KEY TAKEAWAYS Over the past 10 months, their focus has been on mapping resources in KRL South. They are in the process of closing their copper-gold May River deal, which brings together three concessions. May River is in the Frieda River Copper and Gold area of PNG, which is one of the largest undeveloped copper projects in the world. In KRL North, they have done a lot of sampling work. In KRL South, they have already identified a forty grammes per tonne sample. Geophysics work is planned for both sites. Kainantu Resources listed on the Frankfurt Exchange mid-year, which is proving to be good for capital management. The relationship with the government and local communities is still sound. The experienced and well-connected board is able to pursue strategic collaboration opportunities. Despite CoVid having had an impact, Kainantu Resources have still managed to push forward. BEST MOMENTS ‘We´ve been quite tight and scrupulous in terms of managing our capital, so have a reasonable body of capital, at the moment. ´ ‘We are looking to do some geophysics work at both KRL North and South.’ ‘Everybody in the management group has connections and contacts in Southeast Asia.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Kainantu Resources - https://kainanturesources.com Email: [email protected] Episode 117: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/mining-in-papua-new-guinea-with-matt-salthouse/id1440020656?i=1000509599113 VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 190Strong Drill Results from Southwestern US Silver Projects with Galen McNamara

In the episode, we chat to Galen McNamara, CEO of Summa Silver Corp that is a TSX-listed explorer focusing on developing the Hughes Property in the prolific Tonopah district of Nevada. They have also commenced drilling at Mogollon, New Mexico Galen is a geologist by trade and has over 15 years of experience in discovery and capital markets. Apart from heading up Summa Silver, he also sits on a few different boards. In this episode, he talks about both projects, the progress they have made and gives us an update on the current silver market. KEY TAKEAWAYS Summa Silver is a new silver exploration company that focuses on the Southwestern US. They have two historic properties that have not been explored using modern technology. At the Tonopah, Nevada project they are getting grades above one thousand grammes per tonne on multiple targets. The best hole at Tonopah is 4408 grammes per tonne silver equivalent over 2.8 meters. They are about to start drilling at the New Mexico Mogollon project. Currently, between 60 and 70% of silver is used for industrial purposes. In the future, that percentage will rise sharply as demand from the electric car industry grows. Good silver assets are hard to find, so servicing that demand is going to be hard. Another reason prices are likely to rise. Despite doing a lot of drilling Summa Silver is still quite well-financed- The outlook for the silver market for 2022 is good. In the podcast, Galen explains why. Many junior silver miners are undervalued at the moment. BEST MOMENTS ‘Historically, in precious metal bull markets, silver outperforms gold. ´ ‘The demand for silver in a situation like that is gonna almost double from what it is today.’ ‘We are not trying to reinvent the wheel.’ EPISODE RESOURCES LinkedIn: https://ca.linkedin.com/in/galen-mcnamara-02a52911 Twitter: https://twitter.com/galenmcnamara?lang=en Summa Silver Twitter: https://twitter.com/SummaSilver?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor LinkedIn Summa Silver: https://ca.linkedin.com/company/summa-silver-corp VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 188Exploiting Gold and Copper Resources in Safe Jurisdictions with Martin French

In this episode, we chat with Martin French, Executive Chairman of Chesterfield Resources. It is a mineral exploration company operating in Canada and Cyprus, focused on copper and gold and listed on the London Stock Exchange. Martin has over 30 years of experience in capital markets, investment banking and mining and has worked all over the world in Asia, South America and Africa and tells us the story of Chesterfield Resources. You can get 10% off with the discount code DIGDEEP10 when registering at: https://minesandmoney.com/ So, listen to this podcast, get your tickets today and we will see you there... KEY TAKEAWAYS Chesterfield Resources has just finished drilling at their Cyprus resource. Polymetal International, the gold specialists, backed them in November 2020. In July, they purchased a big copper exploration project in Labrador, Canada and partnered with Altius Minerals to explore it. Most big mining companies want to get exposed to copper and many are doing so by buying into exploration companies. The Canadian site is a sedimentary basin. Geology which typically results in good yields. There are already around 250 copper shows on the surface, so it is clearly heavily mineralised. Yet, due to it being isolated very little drilling has taken place, to date. Their first meeting with the Inuit First Nations Grand Chief, Etienne Rich went well. The Canadian brokers have responded well to their offering. Having Dr Neil O´Brien on board is paying dividends. He is well known and respected in the industry. Bottlenecks at the assay labs are causing problems. In Cyprus, exploration of the Limni South dumpsite is yielding good results, so they are looking to put together a gold oxide project. They plan to roll out IR programmes in London, then Toronto. Followed by a secondary listing in 2022. BEST MOMENTS ‘We´ve now got two really good partners. So, for a small company, we´ve come a long way. ´ ‘It´s in a very very low-risk jurisdiction…. Ep 187Exploiting One of the World´s Richest Zinc Resources with Kerem Usenmez

In this episode, we chat with Kerem Usenmez, President and CEO of Metallum Resources who are a Zinc & Copper focused base metal resource company headquartered in Vancouver. They are involved in the mining and mineral development of base metals with interests in North and South America. Kerem has a geology background and a wide range of career experiences and is here today to talk about Metallum Resources, the progress they are making in this great mining jurisdiction and talk more about Zinc as a metal. KEY TAKEAWAYS Metallum Resources is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchanges (MZN) Their flagship project is located near Thunder Bay, Ontario, which already has excellent road, rail, and port connections. They have about two million tonnes at 18% zinc, 1% copper, 34grams per tonne of silver and half a gramme per tonne of gold Their project has almost twice the world´s average percentage in copper richness terms and extremely rich zinc deposits. Using current prices, the EBITA numbers reach $80 million, per year. The team are experienced mine developers as well as explorers. Relationships with the main First Nations group and other communities are currently good. For zinc for the next 5 to 7 years, there will be a deficit. Plus, the demand for zinc-air batteries is growing rapidly. Potentially, creating an even bigger deficit. Metallum Resources are perfectly placed to take advantage of this demand gap. BEST MOMENTS ‘It's an exciting time for mining, especially for zinc and copper. ´ ‘We have one of the highest-grade deposits, in the world, for zinc.’ ‘Very profitable because of the low CAPEX numbers and very very high-grade ore.’ ‘I think this is the right project, with the right commodities, at the right time.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Twitter: @metallumzinc LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/metallum-tsxv-mzn Facebook: @metallumzinc Instagram: https://instagram.com/metallumzinc?utm_medium=copy_link Website: https://www.metallumzinc.com/ VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 186Fast Progress for Inflection Resources and Headwater Gold with Alistair Waddell

In this episode, we chat to Alistair Waddell, President & CEO at Inflection Resources & Chairman at Headwater Gold. Both are junior explorers working across Australia and the US focusing on high-grade precious metals and copper assets. Alistair is an exploration geologist with a background working in Australia, South America, and North America. He is here today to talk about the exciting projects he is involved in and his experience travelling the world as a geologist. KEY TAKEAWAYS Get out there and create your opportunities by knocking on doors. Get exposure to different deposit types, people, and jurisdictions. Young geologists need a bit of drive and perseverance and must not be afraid to take a leap of faith to gain experience. Working for junior miners as well as major mining companies really broadens your understanding. Inflection Resources has two main projects. Both mining gold and copper. The geologist Dr Douglas Haines was involved in putting together the exploration proposal for both projects. Many of the targets were on open ground, close to existing paved highways. They are currently working their way through thirty-five truly greenfield drilling targets in their NSW project. Drilling is also about to commence in their Croydon goldfields. An area that has produced spectacularly high grade finds in the past. Brownfield sites usually come with more risk than people realise. There is a trade-off. Alistair explains why he prefers to drill greenfield sites. Headwater Gold is focused on high-grade epithermal veins in the Great Basin area of Nevada. There are twelve projects to explore in Nevada. BEST MOMENTS ‘Get out and travel before life gets more complicated with mortgages, families and whatnot. ´ ‘I recognise the self-driving geologists. They have that little bit of extra entrepreneurial attitude.’ ’I’m certainly very comfortable at taking a swing on greenfield targets that have the potential to deliver a large tier one.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Website: https://inflectionresources.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/waddellalistair/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/inflectionaucu Email: [email protected] Headway Gold: https://headwatergold.com/boardofdirectors/ VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 185Build Your Personal Brand and Be Genuine to Enjoy an Interesting Mining Career with Alex Atkins

In this episode we chat to Alex Atkins who is a mine engineer by background and now holds a number of non-executive directorship positions. We met a few years ago at a mining conference in Melbourne and I know how passionate she is about mining. She is on the podcast to talk about her passions in ESG, diversity and inclusion and digital transformation. We also talk about non-executive directorships and what you need to do if you’re looking for NED opportunities. KEY TAKEAWAYS Being ready to pivot and use your skillset differently opens all kinds of doors. The mining industry is becoming more diverse and family friendly. Virtual working is now much more commonplace. Partly due to CoVid. ESG has become especially important for the mining industry and for those who invest in it. Genuine diversity creates a safe environment in which people are not afraid to speak up about issues quickly. Meaning that problems get solved fast. Know what your life purpose is and project that out. Being honest like that builds trust. Think about what you have to offer in terms of what is valuable, rare, imitable, and non-substitutable. Be commercial in your mindset. Don´t be too airy-fairy. Tie in details of actual business benefits to make your points. Try to deliver your message at a point when people are ready to hear it. APIs are a great way to join data and digital solutions up to solve many of the industry´s biggest problems. When it comes to NEDs, usually the company comes to you. For that to happen you need a strong personal brand. Write papers, mentor, speak publicly and volunteer to build your brand. Only join a board where you can be authentically you. Being on several boards enables you to be involved in a wide range of projects. Listen carefully and be ready to make your points succinctly. BEST MOMENTS ‘I found my way back into the mining industry through consulting. ´ ‘I used what was rare about me, what was valuable about me to influence others.’ ‘Being on boards feels entrepreneurial.’ EPISODE RESOURCES LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexatkins/ Email: [email protected] RECOMMENDED READING: Working Backwards by Colin Bryar & Bill Carr - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Working-Backwards-Insights-Stories-Secrets/dp/B08KSDMDDV/ Range by David Epstein - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Range-Generalists-Triumph-Specialized-World/dp/B07PCS26MN/ VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 183Extracting Battery Metals From The Ocean With The Lightest Planetary Touch with Gerard Barron

In this episode, Gerard Barron who appeared back in April 2020 (Episode76), returns for a chat. He is the Chairman and CEO of the Metals Company who produce metals from polymetallic rocks to power electric vehicles. It was founded in 2021 through the merger of DeepGreen and the Sustainable Opportunities Acquisition Corporation to scale nodule collecting and onshore processing systems. Gerard is a builder of global companies in battery technology, media, and future-oriented resource development. He is both a chief executive and a strategic investor. Gerard is on a mission to help transition our planet away from fossil fuels and towards a circular resource economy. This episode discusses innovation and a new way of mining that greatly reduces the environmental impact on the earth. So be sure to listen and learn about this new way of mining. KEY TAKEAWAYS The green revolution is going to be very metal intensive. Investors want ESG sustainable investment opportunities. Mining polymetallic nodules that are on, or just below, the surface of the ocean bed can be very beneficial for the planet. It can reduce mining CO2 emissions by more than 90%. Gerard speaks about more benefits in the podcast. The area of the ocean The Metals Company is focusing on contains a wide range of metals. The Metals Company expects to be able to mine enough nickel, cobalt, manganese, and copper to build 280 million mid-size motor batteries. There is hardly anything living on the ocean bed, but The Metals Company is still working to protect it during the mining process. Ocean bed nodules can be extracted without generating any tailings or waste. The Metals Company is collaborating with other industries so they can play a big part in improving every aspect of turning nodules into batteries. Collaborating with other industries uncovers viable solutions that can be implemented fast. Brands that use eco-friendly materials will have a marketing edge, so demand for ocean metals will be strong. BEST MOMENTS ‘(Battery) availability is the most important element that could put the whole green transition at risk.’ ‘(Ocean mining) can reduce tailings to zero, it can eliminate the need for waste.’ ‘Going forward we are going to absolutely collaborate with other industries.’ EPISODE RESOURCES LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/gerardbarron NASDAQ TMC - https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/tmc Twitter - https://twitter.com/themetalsco?lang=en Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/metals.co/?hl=en Website - https://metals.co/ Email – [email protected]/ Episode 76 of DDMP: https://omny.fm/shows/dig-deep-the-mining-podcast/disrupting-mining-is-mining-the-ocean-the-next-big VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 180Building Climate Resilience and The Future of Working in Mining with Andrew Swart

In this episode, we chat with Andrew Swart, Global Mining and Metals Leader at Deloitte. He talks about some of their recently released reports that cover the following important topics: Building climate capability for a resilient mining sector - How leaders can prepare for tomorrow’s challenges The net-zero workforce Mining & Metals The future of work in mining - What will jobs look like in intelligent mining operations? KEY TAKEAWAYS Each jurisdiction is at different stages of the decarbonisation journey and has different approaches. Foreseeing and preparing for the operational implications of climate change e.g., a higher risk of flooding, is another part of climate change resilience. To build climate change resilience companies need to look at the long term as well as the immediate risks Everyone in the organisation needs to take the climate challenge seriously. Some projects will lend themselves to a sustainable approach. Others will not make sense economically. Technology is going to help with energy efficiency. AI analytics will help to meet the climate challenge by targeting mining efforts more effectively. To be attractive to investors you have to have good green credentials. Digitization, automation, decarbonisation, and faster innovation are all going to create new types of roles and skill demands. Having a diverse, talented workforce has a huge impact on a firm´s ability to meet its ESG and climate change goals. Companies will have to look beyond traditional talent pools to create the workforce they need. BEST MOMENTS ‘The implications of climate change drives across the whole organization…from finance to operations. ´ ‘To be attractive to investors you have to be doing these (green) things.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Deloitte Mining Section - https://www2.deloitte.com/global/en/pages/energy-and-resources/topics/mining-and-metals.html Building climate resilience in the mining industry : https://www2.deloitte.com/au/en/pages/energy-and-resources/articles/building-climate-capability-resilient-mining-sector.html The net-zero workforce Mining & Metals: https://www2.deloitte.com/uk/en/pages/energy-and-resources/articles/the-net-zero-workforce-mining-and-metals.html The future of working in a hi-tech, decarbonising mining industry: https://www2.deloitte.com/global/en/insights/industry/mining-and-metals/future-of-mining-industry.html VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 179DFS Details and Progress Update for the African Gold Group with Danny Callow

In this episode, we have a returning guest who was on early this year in March 2021 (Episode 121). Danny Callow is the CEO of African Gold Group, which is a Canadian exploration and development company with its focus on developing a gold mine in Mali, West Africa. A Camborne School of Mine graduate, Danny has extensive experience in African mining working for the likes of Glencore. The African Gold Group has received great news regarding their recently released DFS report. Danny shares the details, including speaking about their drilling programme and hybrid power plant. KEY TAKEAWAYS In July 2021, they produced an updated Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS). It showed that the project was very robust. The study concluded that there should be a pre-tax NPV of around $506 million with an IRR of 45% pre-tax. Cash flow estimates show that the setup costs will be covered after about 2.3 years. The mine should have a 16-year life. There are sulphide and oxide resources, as well as gold. In the podcast, Danny shares far more details about the financial viability of the project. More money has been raised, which has been channelled into further studies and drilling. There is much more to be explored. So far, they have only drilled 4kms of the 55kms of identified strike on the property. Danny explains that around 3.1 million ounces is sitting in those 4kms. In total, they have 300 sq. kms of concessions to explore. The first gold is expected to come out of the mine in 18 to 19 months. Most mines in Mali have to build standalone power plants. The power plant the African Gold Group has built includes solar and battery storage. Reducing their power fuel requirement by 43%. The emissions of noxious gases are reduced by between 35 and 40%. BEST MOMENTS ‘We've just released an updated definitive study now, which not only includes additional oxides but also includes additional sulphides. ´ ‘We've seen a 66% increase in mineral reserves to 1.2 5 million ounces.’ ‘We've only drilled around four kilometres of strike on fifty-five kilometres of identified strike on the property.’ EPISODE RESOURCES African Gold Group - https://www.africangoldgroup.com Danny Callow LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/danny-callow-acsm-84516b168/?originalSubdomain=za Twitter - https://twitter.com/AfricanGoldG Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/africangoldgroup/ DDM podcast episode 121- https://omny.fm/shows/dig-deep-the-mining-podcast/the-challenges-above-ground-an-interview-with-dann VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 178GoviEX 3 Active Project Updates with Daniel Major

In this episode, we have a returning guest who first appeared on the podcast back in June 2019 (episode 30). Daniel Major is the CEO of GoviEX Uranium, a mineral resource company focused on the exploration and development of its African uranium properties in Niger namely Madaoela, its mine permitted Mutanga Project in Zambia, and its exploration Falea Project in Mali. Daniel is a Camborne School of Mines mine engineering graduate and has been at the helm of GoviEx for the past 9 years, developing the company into a position to become a Uranium producer in 2025. He is here today to give us an update on the company and about the uranium market in general. KEY TAKEAWAYS GoviEx has 3 projects in 3 different mining jurisdictions. Falea in Mali is a fascinating polymetallic project, which has a lot of potential. Madaoela in Niger is their keystone project, and it is already fully permitted. Niger started producing uranium in 1971. Power is not an issue in the area GoviEx is operating and the potential for solar is extremely good. The African Trade Group is developing several rail, road and shipping infrastructure projects which will greatly enhance Niger´s transport network. The infill drilling programme for Mutanga has gone well the operation remains a straightforward one. At Falea they have drilled below the uranium deposits, which the previous owner did not do. Deeper drilling has revealed copper, gold, and silver. GoviEx is very focused on ESG but does not take a one-size fits all approach. In Niger, the community has asked GoviEX to focus on education. It is very much a win-win for everyone. Marrying education with the nomadic lifestyle in Niger is one of the challenges they are working to overcome. In other areas, water, strengthening the food supply chain and clinics have been the priority. BEST MOMENTS ‘(In Niger) the government is currently developing a programme of infrastructure upgrades. ´ ‘We are going to drill down into deeper targets and figure out if this is the source of the uranium.’ ‘With ESG you need to recognise that each community is different. Do not take a rubber stamp and try to apply it to everyone.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Website: https://goviex.com/ Contact form: https://goviex.com/contact/contact-us/ Email: [email protected] Email: [email protected] DDM podcast Episode 30: https://omny.fm/shows/dig-deep-the-mining-podcast/uranium-the-future-with-daniel-major VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 177Cabral Gold Update – Gold Deposits, 43 New Targets and Gold-in-Oxide Blankets with Alan Carter

In this episode, we chat with Alan Carter, a returning guest who we interviewed back in July 2020 (episode 86). He is the President & CEO of Cabral Gold, a mineral exploration company with a focus on gold and copper with a key asset is the Cuiu Cuiu gold project located in Northern Brazil. A geologist by background, Alan is super passionate about this project having recorded a podcast last year, as he invested his own money into the project. We talk about some very positive developments in the Tapajos region particularly with respect to the TZ project which is adjacent to your Cuiu Cuiu project. We talk about the recent investment they secured and the 43 additional targets they have discovered within an 8km radius of the 2 known deposits at Cuiu Cuiu which looks exciting. KEY TAKEAWAY Two deposits are already defined, totalling about a million ounces. As well as extensive gold-in-oxide blankets. There are currently 5 rigs turning on the project. It is in a very productive area and Cabral has uncovered 43 more targets so far. Some boulders at those targets average 91 grammes a tonne, which equates to circa 3 ounces a tonne. The capital cost of extraction from gold-in-oxide blankets is low. No digging or grinding is needed so production can start very quickly. The neighbouring TZ project is highly likely to go into production soon. It will be Brazil´s 3rd largest goldmine. The presence of such a big mine in the area will lead to significant infrastructure improvements. There are a lot of new mines coming on stream in Brazil, which is attracting talent. Before investing look at the quality of the management team. A management team that has invested their own money in their company is a good sign. In the podcast, Alan explains why he has done exactly that. For investors projects that already have resources up and running are usually a good option. BEST MOMENTS ‘You need a management team that can raise money. ´ ‘I have put a lot of my own money to work in the company.’ ‘I´ve never seen a gold exploration project with this kind of potential before.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Cabral Gold - https://cabralgold.com/corporate/management/ Alan Carter LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/alan-carter-636a796a/?originalSubdomain=ca DDM episode 86: https://omny.fm/shows/dig-deep-the-mining-podcast/the-creative-challenges-of-gold-with-alan-carter VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 176Understanding the Impact of Tailings Failures and Mitigating That Risk with Iain Pickard and Edwards Haslam

In this episode, we chat with Iain Pickard (Partner) and Edward Haslam (Head of Mining) at Strategia Worldwide who help clients build resilience and protect value by understanding, testing, and managing risk in various industries, including mining. In this important episode, we discuss their 24/7 tailings monitoring solution they are rolling out. Managing tailings risk using a global standard. We talk about what companies need to do to comply with the new Global Industry Standard for Tailings Management and the technologies that are available to help with addressing the requirements. KEY TAKEAWAYS Strategia has about over 120 senior advisors and associates located around the world. They are drawn from different areas of the industry so have expertise in every facet of mining and every mining region. Mine owners regulators and investors are collectively invested in finding ever safer Tailings Storage Facilities (TSF) In many ways, legacy dams are at a higher risk than operational ones. Yet nobody is sure knows how many of these dams exist. TSS failures impact everyone. Including uninvolved mines that see their costs soar and experience more resistance to their activities. In Chile, from next year, 24/7 monitoring of TSFs will be obligatory. This approach is increasingly the norm across the world. Some insurance companies have already withdrawn from mining because of TSF related risk. Others not not provide D&O cover that includes TSS failure. An independent “what-if” study alerts firms to risks that they have not previously considered and can tee up the monitoring system. Every site is different, there is no one-size-fits-all TSF monitoring solution; it needs to monitor the risks to the facility using the best suited sensors. In areas where 4G is not available, satellite comms systems are a viable alternative. Firms need to review their TSF maintenance and ask the right questions. Many of which are shared in the podcast. BEST MOMENTS ‘Currently, TSF risk is virtually impossible to insure.’ ‘It (TSF monitoring) is becoming a regulatory issue.’ ‘Using the right technology, you can actually ensure 24-hour consistent, constant monitoring, of your TSF’ EPISODE RESOURCES Website: https://www.strategiaworldwide.com/ VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. The Company is focused on creating significant value for shareholders through the discovery of world-class silver, gold, and base metal deposits in Peru. Peter has a background in wealth management and talks to us about Tier One Silver. Telling us about their current drilling programme around the company’s flagship project in Peru. As well as providing updates on Curibaya and the surface work at Hurricane Silver. Also, they talk about how they are getting back to face to face networking having recently attended the Precious Metals Summit in Beaver Creek. KEY TAKEAWAYS Auryn Resources had great assets but was spread too thin, which is why they created 3 new entities, including Tier One Silver. The Tier One team is extremely experienced, with several big past successes under their belts. Tier One is focusing on largely underexplored areas that nonetheless have exceptional numbers. Mining is nothing new to Peru, but big areas of the country are still underexplored. In the past, the local community did not benefit much from mining. That is changing fast. Most of Tier One´s drill sites are located in the desert which makes it easier to explore and mine without disturbing anyone. Hurricane won´t be drill ready for 10 to 12 months. Face to face networking is making it far easier to find investors. Every country´s renewable energy plans are in some way dependent on silver. High and growing demand, coupled with relatively low stocks means the price of silver is set to take off, at some point. Although it is likely to continue to be a volatile metal. BEST MOMENTS ‘We have a technical team that has been a part of multiple discoveries. ´ ‘There are some serious high-grade targets to go after.’ ‘Even at this price at $14, $10 silver, our projects are going to make sense.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Twitter: @TierOneSilver LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/tier-one-silver VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 174Up to Date Advice for Both Graduates and Mining Firms with Richard Murrell

In this episode, we chat to Richard Murrell who is the site director at Anglo American on the Woodsmith mine here in the UK. Having studied at the Camborne School of mine and worked both here in the UK and in Australia, Richard has a passion and desire to help the younger generation and graduates in the mining industry. He is coming onto the podcast to give some advice to graduates in their early years. But also, to advise managers and more senior mining professionals in hiring young engineers for their business and operations. KEY TAKEAWAYS Don´t send a generic letter. Do your homework, send it to the right person and make it specific. Be sure to follow up on the emails or letters you send. Research is essential. The more you know about a company and its projects the better. Networking is vital. Many, many people have found jobs at networking events. Being on the tools underground may not be what you want to do forever, but it’s still very good experience. When at university seek out jobs that teach you related skills. For example, work on a building site instead of in a cafe. Build up your own skills, don´t expect your company to always pay for training. The industry has to be proactive about selling mining as a career to stand any chance of filling the skill gap. People need to be made aware that mining can be done in an environmentally friendly way. Many people just assume that a mining career means having to move abroad. Increasingly, that is not the case. The industry needs to make that clearer. The UK mining industry is buoyant, environmentally friendly and has a bright future. Apprenticeships are vital to the industry. Get children building as soon as possible. Technical Lego or Meccano are great. Teach your children about fossils, geology, and visit quarries and engineered facilities. BEST MOMENTS ‘Keep sending those emails off, keep approaching, but also keep following up. ´ ‘If you can start at the bottom maybe as a nipper or a truck driver underground it´s invaluable experience.’ ‘There are around 2000 mines and quarries operating in the UK.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Website: Re-imagining mining to improve people's lives | Anglo American LinkedIn: Richard Murrell - Site Director - Anglo American | LinkedIn Email: [email protected] Lego Caterpillar D11 Bulldozer set - https://brickset.com/article/63317/first-look-at-42131-cat-d11-bulldozer VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 173How Mining Companies are Using the Voluntary Carbon Market with Matthew Laustrup

In this episode, we chat with Matthew Laustrup. He is the sales manager for First Climate, a leading service provider of carbon emissions, supporting private and public sector organizations in achieving their climate and sustainability objectives. Matthew discusses how they can help mining companies with their carbon and green energy agendas. This is going to play a major part in mining companies’ future strategies over the coming years. So, now is the time to prepare if you are not already doing so. KEY TAKEAWAYS Last year, the voluntary carbon market retired or transacted just over 100 million tonnes of carbon. First Climate alone was involved in retiring or transacting 10 million tonnes of that. Reducing and offsetting carbon emissions is not something that can wait. There are two types of carbon markets. Matthew explains what they are. Now that renewable energies are economically viable, there is no need for the carbon market to support those. Using carbon neutral products is gaining ground, including in the mining sector. Many mining companies are working hard to neutralise their carbon and making huge changes to do it. Building facilities with eco-friendly materials make a big difference. In the podcast, Matthew shares some examples. Avoiding emissions is essential. Matthew shares several ways to do this throughout the episode. The different types of carbon credits and the cost of them is discussed. Using a verified carbon project is essential, several good options are talked about in the podcast. It is important to bear in mind that some projects take years to neutralise carbon. BEST MOMENTS ‘First Carbon is involved in around 150 projects, throughout the world. ´ ‘The voluntary market needs to scale up to 1 billion tonnes to have an impact on global emissions.’ ‘You need to be in for the long haul if you are developing your own projects.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Website: https://www.firstclimate.com/en/meet-the-team/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/first-climate/ LinkedIn: Matthew Laustrup – Sales Manager - Carbon and Renewable Energy – First Climate AG | LinkedIn Email: [email protected] VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 171Tap into New Cyanide Monitoring Technology to Extract More and Reduce Costs with Benedikt Kirchgaessler

In this episode, we chat with Benedikt Kirchgaessler who is the CEO and founder of CyanoGuard. A company that manufactures and provides the best solution for safe and efficient cyanide monitoring and management within the mining industry. Their mission is to minimize toxic reagent usage, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and improve precious metal recoveries for gold mines by providing a reliable, user-friendly, and intelligent real-time cyanide monitoring and optimization solution. Benedikt has a background in biochemistry and biotechnology as well as the founder of CyanoGuard. He talks about the company and how gold mining companies can benefit from their product in the processing of gold. KEY TAKEAWAYS Better monitoring leads to better control. Only when you have accurate timely data can you make the right decisions. Proper cyanide monitoring greatly improves the efficiency of the gold recovery process. By about 2 or 3%. The amount of chemicals used can also be reduced by up to 20%. How much a mine saves depends on its size. But between 2 to 10 million dollars per year is not unusual. Safety is also improved. There is only a finite supply of metals, so to meet demand the industry has to become more efficient. Installation is fast and easy to scale. How mining companies embrace technology is set to play a major role in how successful they are. Their sonic monitoring solutions can be adapted to suit the needs of any type of mine. BEST MOMENTS ‘There is a lot of technology out there that is used in other areas that can help mines to become more sustainable and safer. ´ ‘Our solutions really make an impact.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Website: https://www.cyanoguard.com/ Request a demo: https://www.cyanoguard.com/request-demo LinkedIn: CyanoGuard AG | LinkedIn Twitter: CyanoGuard AG (@CyanoGuard) / Twitter Call; +41 44 505 1001 or +61 8 7711 3317 or +511 700 3314 Email: [email protected] VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 170Producing the Metals the UK Needs for the Green Revolution in the UK - Interview with Brett Grist

In this episode, we chat with Brett Grist, the Exploration Manager of Cornwall Resources who are focusing on the Redmoor Tin/Tungsten/Copper mining project located in eastern Cornwall, SW of England. The company is owned by AIM-listed Strategic Minerals PLC. Brett has a background as a Geologist. He has more than 20 years of experience in exploration and mining project development. Playing a leading role in projects across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Including taking projects from early exploration through feasibility and into development. He also co-chairs the UK mining group of the Critical Minerals Association. Brett shares his career and overcoming a tragedy by developing leukaemia to now leading the way in putting Cornwall on the mining map. He explains the developments they are making with Cornwall Resources. How they are forging partnerships with Camborne School of Mines. At a time when government assistance is slowly coming to fruition. These are exciting times for the Cornwall region and perhaps the rest of the UK when it comes to the mining industry. KEY TAKEAWAYS The idea that Cornwall has been all mined out is most definitely not correct. Cornwall Resources is looking mainly for tungsten and copper. Quite a lot of discovery work was done in the mid-80s, but a drop in prices stopped the deposits from being mined. Cornwall Resources is gathering and creating mining data in digital formats. Cornwall is one of the heavily mined areas. Yet, it is also one of the most under-explored areas. There is the potential for the UK to home produce the metals they need for the green revolution. It is time for companies to come together and lobby the government, so they understand the opportunity and make things easier. The UK has plenty of people with the right exploration and mining skills. Working out who has the mineral rights in the UK is still quite a fragmented process, which can be time-consuming. We still need to educate the public about how vital mining is to society. Work with the community to find solutions. For example, putting a straw bale wall up solve their drill rig noise issue. BEST MOMENTS ‘You adapt, work out how to do it and find good people to work with. ´ ‘Many people say “Cornwall, it´s all been mined out hasn´t it” Well, that´s not the case.’ ‘In Cornwall, the planning authorities are generally supportive.’ ‘Modern mining is a different thing. Ep 169How Inflatable Packers are Transforming the Mining Industry with Clem Rowe

In this episode, we chat to Clem Rowe, Managing Director at IPI Packers who are a leading designer and manufacturer of down-hole products with distinctly different inflatable packer technology. These inflatable packers can be used in mining for rock burst mitigation, block caving hydro-fracture, remote or deep permeability testing, rock-stress testing and also custom-made solutions to fit your requirements. Clem has over 30 years of experience in the design and manufacture of inflatable packers and discusses how their products are used and can benefit the mining industry in a variety of ways. KEY TAKEAWAYS The best way to think of an inflatable packer is as a balloon on a stick, that can be inserted into a hole and inflated. Inflatable packers are an especially flexible, strong, durable, and often easy to deploy form of packing. Permeability testing is one of the largest uses of inflatable packers within the mining industry. They can also be used for pre-conditioning. Inflatable packers are also a good fit for solution mining. During the podcast, Clem explains the benefits of their innovative Standard Wireline Packer System (SWiPS®). IPI´s unique software package enables them to predict what will happen when their system is applied and plan accordingly. Even with CoVid, IPI Packers turnover has doubled. They are continuing to expand fast with new facilities opening across the globe. BEST MOMENTS ‘We´re doing our best to prove that our inflatable packers are the best high-performance choice in all applications. ´ ‘It uses water to inflate the backhoe instead of gas.’ ‘Every product we produce is in some way an innovation.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Website: https://www.inflatable-packers.com/IPI/index LinkedIn: IPI Packers | LinkedIn Facebook: https://m.facebook.com/IPI-Packers-546485666271740/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/ipipackers VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 168Understanding Native Title and Handling It Correctly with Ric Davies

In this episode, we chat with Ric Davies, a specialist and expert in native title within the mining industry. He has a wealth of experience spanning over 20 years. Ric understands native title at State and at Federal level. He covers everything including exploration, mining, infrastructure, and has particular expertise in Aboriginal Land. Ric prides himself on taking a can-do, common-sense approach to cooperative development. During the podcast, he provides a wider understanding of native titles. Including common issues and how to best overcome these challenges. Giving you some hints and tips, you can use to successfully negotiate these agreements. An insightful episode where the common theme seems to be building relationships with landowners. KEY TAKEAWAYS The mining on native lands landscape has changed hugely in the past 20 years. Many mining companies are negative about native title, despite the fact that its existence also generates opportunities. Heritage surveys offer benefits. They uncover all kinds of new information and artefacts. Usually, once you get face to face and build a relationship you can solve any issues. Don’t be scared of the process. Following it takes time, but it works. There is a huge need for people with a proper understanding of mining and native titles to work in the industry. Each indigenous group is different. Even in the same country, you will need to adapt your approach in each area. Interacting with the community early is essential. As is regularly updating them. Not being truthful backfires. The destruction of the Juukan cave heritage site is bound to lead to drastic change. Indigenous groups are now better organised. They are taking the initiative and commercialising their rights, taking on the role of partners. More indigenous people are working in the mining industry, and they are starting to take on more senior roles. The mining industry will adapt. It has always evolved and will do so in this case. BEST MOMENTS ‘Negotiations were driven by lawyers, who knew everything about the law but knew nothing about mining. ´ ‘Groups will judge you on things, not words… get out there and talk to people.’ ‘I think there are going to be big changes coming.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Website: http://www.daviesanddavies.com.au/ LinkedIn: https://au.linkedin.com/in/ric-davies-6b539468 Email: [email protected] VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 167Ways To Get Into The Commodity Bull Market - Interview With Steve Penny

In this episode, we chat to Steve Penny again who appeared in Episode 124 back in March this year. You may want to listen to that episode as well, after listening to this. Steve is a full-time commodity investor specialising predominately in precious metals and uranium stocks. Someone Rob has been personally following since last year. He is a paid member of his newsletter “The Silverchartlist” where he shares useful tips on investing. Where Steve shows the actual trades he is making in real-time. As well as updating his subscribers on current market trends across a handful of commodities. He writes two newsletters. One is free, the other has a very low cost paid newsletter. They are both invaluable and provide an insight into a basket of selected mining stocks. In them, he provides commentary on what these stocks are doing. He gives us an update on the precious metals and Uranium market but more importantly, also educate us on investing in mining stocks. Rob started investing late last year and certainly understands a lot more about commodity investing. He is sure he will do well as we enter a commodities bull-market over the coming years. KEY TAKEAWAYS With the right guidance, it is possible to invest successfully in commodities even if you are not involved in the mining industry Recently the market fell back a bit, this is helping to adjust things to better reflect reality A lower market makes it easier for new investors to get involved Silver and gold always thrive when governments are indebted. Steve explains how that works, in the podcast. Uranium is particularly interesting because of what is happening to nuclear power. Battery metals have a lot of potential. Steve talks about some of them in more detail during the podcast. Commodities have never been so cheap relative to other investment vehicles. When it comes to commodity investing, there is nothing wrong with using an ETF to get started. Steve´s free newsletter is a good way to build your knowledge of the commodities market or get started as an investor. BEST MOMENTS ‘It also gives new participants the opportunity to begin to accumulate positions. ´ ‘Commodities have never been so cheap relative to general equities and real estate.’ ‘You want to accumulate before the big pop. Ep 166An Update on the State of Gold - Interview with Krishan Gopaul of the World Gold Council

In today´s episode, we have a returning guest, Krishan Gopaul who is the Market Intelligence Manager at the World Gold Council. He talks about the Gold Demand Trends quarterly report for Q1 2021, and what’s been happening in the world of gold over the last few months. He briefly talks about the history of gold and why it’s been valued throughout history. KEY TAKEAWAYS There is still a strengthening demand for gold. This is the case for gold coins and jewellery too. Central banks are continuing to buy gold. Including some that have not bought much over the past few years. Krishan explains why that is during the podcast. Interest rates have played a huge role in driving gold investment, especially for private investors. Fear of inflation is playing a role. Gold is still a popular hedging product. Mine production is continuing to recover from the CoVid crisis. Gold recycling is helping to balance the market and stop demand from outstripping supply too much. Greater job creation and higher wages are set to further boost the gold jewellery sector. Gold has worked as a currency since 500 BC. In some parts of the world, it is still used as an unofficial currency. Since the 2000s new gold markets have emerged e.g., small consumers in China. Gold is unlikely to see its reputation change anytime soon. It is seen as a source of safety as well as returns. Ep 164Robots Capable of Mapping Any Mine Including Those Under Water -Interview with Richard Papp

In this episode, we chat with Richard Papp, Managing Director at UNEXMIN Geo-Robotics, a company that is a private spin-off arising from the U-NEX-MIN project and that has the IP of the robotic platform they have produced. The company is pioneering surveying solutions for flooded environments. During the podcast, Richard, who has a background in geology and geophysics, is going to talk about the exciting and innovative advances they are making in geo-robotics. Including, how this can be used in the mining sector in both underground and open-pit mines. Providing solutions for areas of any type of mine that are under water. KEY TAKEAWAYS Submersibles makes it possible to explore and assess flooded mines. In the EU alone there are 30,000+ closed mines. Many of which have since flooded, so the potential market for UNEXMIN is huge. Many of these mines have the potential to be re-opened using new technology. The rising demand for most metals and minerals is pushing the price up making resurrecting old mines viable and desirable. The robots are fitted with multiple systems which makes them robust, highly manoeuvrable, precise, and easy to direct accurately. Robots can dive in places humans can´t. There are several other markets outside of mining for these diving and exploring robots. The robots can also be used for water and chemical sampling. They can create 3D maps of any mining facility, tunnel, or cave. When specialist cameras are used it is possible to detect what minerals are left in the mine. Rock sampling capabilities are also in development. The robots can be used in any kind of water. But there are some temperature limitations. The robot is modular, which makes it versatile and enables users to choose what type of information they collect. BEST MOMENTS ‘In the European Union, there are 30,000 closed mines that could now be viable again. Ep 160Using AI to Push the Boundaries of Effective Mineral Exploration - Interview with Denis Laviolette

In this episode, we chat with Denis Laviolette, Executive Chair of GoldSpot Discoveries. It is are a technology/investment company that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to significantly improve mineral exploration targeting on both a regional and local scale. Denis is a geologist by background and has worked on three different continents, Canada, Norway, and Ghana during his career. He has a range of experience working on advanced mine operations, start-up mine management, grassroots exploration, and financing and acquisitions. Now he is bringing machine learning to the resources sector. KEY TAKEAWAYS Increasingly, mineral explores are using big data and machine learning to accelerate exploration. Goldspot´s focus is on reducing risk. Getting more out of the data you have is a big part of doing this. Their team consists of many specialised individuals that also have expertise in sub-disciplines for example geology or geophysics. They employ data scientists as well as geoscientists. Currently, the accuracy of the data they are given initially is not adequate. So, there is always an element of additional research necessary. The fact that, over the decades, geologists have used different names for the same rock means core samples need to be relogged to be useful. Goldspot has developed Litho Lens to speed up core relogging. It uses historic core photos. Data needs to be accurate. In the podcast, Denis shares several examples of how the flaws with the data can be recognised and how it can be cleaned up. Sometimes it is possible to use data from a neighbouring project to learn more about your asset. Goldspot is starting to offer its AI tools and software to individual companies so they can use them to speed up their exploration. BEST MOMENTS ‘With any particular mining project, the data sets are different, the problems that need solving are different. ´ ‘It's about that front end work, standardization, homogenization and cleaning up the data.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Email: [email protected] Denis Laviolette LinkedIn: https://ca.linkedin.com/in/denis-laviolette-928a30a7 Website: https://goldspot.ca/ LinkedIn: GoldSpot Discoveries Corp. | LinkedIn Twitter: https://twitter.com/goldspotd?lang=en Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/GoldSpot-Discoveries-Corp VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 157The Future of Tungsten and Tin Mining in Southwest UK with Max Denning

In this episode, we chat to Max Denning, CEO & Director at Tungsten West who are restarting the World Class Hemerdon Tungsten-Tin Deposit located in South Devon, UK. They were incorporated in 2019 as a special purpose vehicle to purchase the Hemerdon Project out of receivership. Max has over 10 years of experience in the mining sector mainly in commercial & finance, management consultancy and project delivery. He was previously GM Commercial & Finance of Pan African Minerals and now is in the hot seat at Tungsten West. In the podcast, he explains how things have moved forward since the operation was taken over from Wolf Minerals. They are looking to list on the AIM soon, so we discuss this plus why they decided to take on this exciting but challenging world-class operation. KEY TAKEAWAYS Demand for tungsten and tin is growing. For many applications, e.g., wind turbines there is no viable alternative to tungsten. Taking a slightly different approach to the production of the tungsten and tin is part of the reason this formerly unprofitable asset is now viable again. The plant has been updated. In this episode, we chat to James Sykes, who is CEO and Director of Baselode Energy, a fully funded Uranium exploration company that has achieved resounding success within the region. For example, holding a portfolio of highly prospective uranium exploration properties in the eastern side of the Athabasca Basin. James has over 10 years of experience in uranium exploration and discovery in the Athabasca Basin. His experience has also enabled him to lead the technical team for NexGen Energy, to make the Arrow discovery during the first 3 drill campaigns - the largest development-stage uranium deposit in Canada. James, a geologist by trade discusses his 1.0 and 2.0 thesis models around uranium exploration. As well as what he and the company are looking to achieve in the uranium space. KEY TAKEAWAYS Baselode Energy is only a year old, but the team has decades of experience and success when it comes to Uranium exploration. They are fully funded. The Uranium market has not been this hot for about 15 years now. Uranium has always been important for green energy. But there is stigma surrounding its use. This perception is changing. We have more nuclear reactors now than we did 20 years ago. The supply of uranium has not kept pace. In fact, mines have closed, so the conditions are right for the price to climb. Baselode Energy is looking in areas where glaciers have removed surface rocks to great depths so that they do not have to dig too far. James and his team have tapped into new aerial scanning techniques to help them to identify the most promising areas. The world´s use of electricity is increasing steeply. China, India, and Russia are all building new reactors and increasing the capacity of their existing ones. Baselode Energy has the lowest number of shares of their peers meaning that when the price goes up investors really feel the benefit. Supply of Uranium is going to be tight for a while. Open-pit uranium mines take circa 8 years to come on stream, underground typically it takes decades. Baselode has 3 areas, which they are exploring at speed. They are scheduled to start drilling this year on 2 of their sites and the other one in 2022. BEST MOMENTS ‘We are looking for high-grade uranium because we know that is what makes the deposits tick. ´ ‘and nuclear has again been touted as being green. But we´ve got to get over that fear hurdle.’ ‘It is not a question of if uranium will come back, it is a question of when uranium comes back.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Email: [email protected] Email: [email protected] LinkedIn: https://ca.linkedin.com/company/baselode-energy Twitter: https://twitter.com/BaselodeE Website: https://baselode.com VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. We also discuss mining in Zimbabwe and how they navigated their way through the turmoil that the country has experienced over the past decade. KEY TAKEAWAYS Steve´s accounting background has helped Caledonia Mining to navigate hyperinflation and a lack of foreign currency. He explains how in the podcast. The government is putting in place dollar retention schemes to help exporters, which will make the country more attractive for mining investment. Caledonia Mining Corp is Jersey registered, which is beneficial to shareholders. From a geological point of view, Zimbabwe is a great location which is one of the main reasons they are expanding there. Drilling and exploration of their other sites are ongoing. The plan is to stay in gold and to become a far larger producer. Investing in infrastructure has enabled them to mine deeper and across far more faces. Blanket mine still has plenty of reserves to exploit. Zimbabwe has a great workforce and investors are very welcome there. The infrastructure, roads etc. are still in good condition. Investing in solar is solving the power constraint issue and reducing the environmental impact their mining operation has. At this time, the economics of storing excess power in batteries is not right. But, they are working to address that issue. The Blanket mine is self-financing. Blanket mine staff and the community are both shareholders. BEST MOMENTS ‘A company´s cash flow statement is its most meaningful statement. ´ ‘Our intention has always been to reward shareholders with a good dividend stream.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Website: https://www.caledoniamining.com/ Email: [email protected] Twitter: https://twitter.com/caledoniamining VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 154Why Small-scale Gold Mining in Brazil Makes Financial Sense with Mike Hodgson, CEO of Serabi Gold

In this episode, we chat with Mike Hodgson, CEO of Serabi Gold. An exploration and production company involved in the evaluation and development of gold deposits in Brazil. Mike is a geologist by background and has worked across Europe and South America. Working for the likes of ACA Howe International Ltd, Rio Tinto and Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines Ltd. His expertise is in narrow vein underground mining operations. He is here today to talk about Serabi gold, their recent acquisition and plans for development and exploration for Coringa, mining in Brazil and how to overcome negativity over the recent tailings issues in Brazil. KEY TAKEAWAYS Small underground mining is challenging. It is all about quality, not quantity. Done right it is highly viable. Bringing Coringa on stream is creating the critical mass that Serabi Gold needs. Serabi Gold is investing in exploration around Polita. Coringa is planning to start its first blast in July 2021. The results are good, so there is potential for 80,000, maybe more, ounces. Brazil consists of 26 states, each of which operates differently. The government is actively looking for companies to operate there. So, at the state level things move fast and setting up there is not that difficult. Currently, even tiny, dry tailing dams are having to meet the same standards as the huge and potentially dangerous dams that are always wet. Serabi Gold has $70 million in the bank, is robust, making money and the gold price is up too, which boosts profitability. BEST MOMENTS ‘Small is good, small is beautiful. It certainly works for us. ´ ‘You basically squeeze the water out of the tailings and actually have sand. Then you just stack it’ EPISODE RESOURCES Website - https://www.serabigold.com/ Email: [email protected] Twitter: https://twitter.com/serabi_gold VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Ep 153Streaming and Royalties Investments and Understanding the Carbon Market Opportunity with Anthony Milewski

In this episode, we chat with Anthony Milewski, Chairman of Nickel 28, an innovative battery metal focused investment vehicle. Nickel 28´s current main focus is on metal streaming and royalty agreements. They offer investors exposure to the metals that are integral to the key technologies that the electric vehicle and energy storage markets need. Anthony is an entrepreneur with a background in Finance and Law. So, apart from talking about Nickel 28, he discusses and informs us about carbon credits and carbon footprints. In particular, how its introduction into the mining industry is changing the way things are done. KEY TAKEAWAYS Get in early with metals and commodities. Understandably, demand for the metals that go into batteries is set to grow fast. With the streaming and royalty model, you have exposure to the commodity price but have no operating exposure. Diversifying across assets and jurisdictions has benefits. Royalty agreements secure investors a % of revenue. There are many different permutations to consider. Streaming is linked in some way to the physical commodity. Anthony explains in more detail, in the podcast. There are two markets for carbon (emissions markets). The regulated and the voluntary markets. The voluntary market is set to dwarf the regulated market. Anthony covers how the voluntary market in detail. ESG standards mean that most mining companies will be involved in the carbon market. Supply and demand dictate the price of carbon credits. The price of carbon keeps going up, which makes it a potentially good investment. Carbon will become an important feature of the balance sheet. Carbon footprint is set to become a significant part of any investor’s decision process. Anthony explains why the price of nickel is likely to rise. BEST MOMENTS ‘Try to invest in the metals and commodities early on. ´ ‘Carbon is going to become an important feature of the balance sheet.’ EPISODE RESOURCES Twitter - https://twitter.com/a_milewski VALUABLE RESOURCES mailto:[email protected] https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ http://www.mining-international.org https://twitter.com/MiningConsult https://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.org https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3 ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia.
