Alan Carter is the President & CEO of Cabral Gold, a mineral exploration company with a focus on gold and copper with a key asset is the Cuiu Cuiu gold project located in Northern Brazil. A geologist by background, Alan has an extensive career across South America so is well-positioned to develop this gold project in Brazil and give us an update on the Cuiu Gold project plus news on other discoveries in the local area. KEY TAKEAWAYS Alan´s obsession with finding the source of the gold that was being mined in 100 streams across a 250 km area of Brazil has resulted in several major finds. Currently, Cabral Gold has about 1.2 million ounces of already defined resources in the Cuiu Cuiu district, across a 5 to 6 km area. They currently have another 14 very promising targets. The mine next door to them, TZ, is set to go into production during Q2 2024, which has greatly improved the infrastructure in the region. A gold exploration company developing 3 gold assets in Mali and SenegalBert has a strong background in the resources sector and in Africa having spent over 10 years at Hummingbird Resources in senior management, so has a great understanding of how to develop gold mining assets in those regions. He has been the CEO of Cora for nearly 3 years and takes us through that journey. Bert provides us with an update on developments and what the outlook is for the company moving forward. Two-thirds of the resources are indicated and a third are inferred. They mostly sit in easy-to-dig material. Cora Gold´s initial brownfield exploration shows another 1.3 million ounces of gold in the area. Returns for shareholders have been good and there is every reason to expect this to continue. It is an open pit oxide mine, which has a very low technical risk and costs. Currently, the mine has an expected life of 6 to 8 years, with quite a bit of potential to expand this. There is a lot of positivity around their financing. The plan is to start producing gold in 2024. For the mining sector in Mali, the future is bright. Kerim is an experienced exploration geologist within the junior mining space. In this episode, we chat with Neil Herbert, Chairman of Atlantic Lithium, a junior miner that is looking to develop Ghana’s first Lithium producing mine. They are targeting first production in 2024. Neil is an experienced advisor and investor in leading growth companies from start-up, through to IPO and development. During his career, he has been involved in a number of mining companies in Africa. He is going to talk us through Atlantic Lithium and how they are on course to become Ghana’s first lithium mine. KEY TAKEAWAYS Ewoyaa is an exceptional lithium project. It is 100% spodumene, which the processors prefer. Getting the mine on stream is going to be simple because all the key components are already in place. There is a strong workforce, great infrastructure, and good support from stakeholders. Ghana has a very long mining tradition. The government understands the industry. Ghana is actively trying to diversify into mining other minerals. The compliance bar is high but managed fairly so it is not hard to navigate that requirement. The project has already grown by a third and has the potential to grow again. The price of Lithium is soaring so Ewoyaa’s low operating costs mean profits will be high. All of the current data points to there being a deficit of lithium over the next decade or so. Atlantic Lithium is already well financed and has the groundwork laid for further financing should it be needed. Kuya Silver owns 100% of the Bethania Silver Mine, which is a high-grade silver polymetallic resource, in Peru. Over the past two years through acquisition and land purchase they have added 5,300 hectares to the resource. The mine can be put into operation very quickly once the market strengthens. They have recently made new discoveries at Bethania and have further promising targets to explore. Over the past two years, they have focused on acquisitions to strengthen their portfolio. Including buying the Silver Kings mine in Canada. Once gold moves, silver will too. It always has. The current macroeconomic situation should lead to the price of gold rising. Silver shortages seem to be getting tighter and tighter, which will be good for the price. Despite political changes in Peru, the operating environment has changed very little. Peru is a large and diverse country, so the challenges are different in each area. Kuya is lucky enough to be in an area that is easy to operate in. Kuya has high-grade, minimal-risk quality silver assets that are growing. Yet, right now, the valuation is still next to nothing.
