Missing Mom Debbie Collier Found Stripped, Dead & Charred After Bizarre Text
A Georgia mom goes missing after sending a bizarre text to her daughter. Debbie Collier sends her daughter, Amanda Bearden, $2,385 using Venmo and included a message that read, “They are not going to let me go love you there is a key to the house in the blue flower pot by the door.” After receiving the message, Collier’s daughter tried to call her mom but could not get through. Collier was found the next day in a ravine, naked, her body burned. Police tracked a rental vehicle Collier was using to a wooded area 60 miles away from the family’s Athens home. Collier's husband told police that he last saw his wife at about 9 p.m. on Friday, September 9, as he was going to bed. The husband went to work on Saturday morning and told investigators that his wife’s vehicle was still in the driveway at that time. The New York Post reports that the couple’s neighbor said they heard some sort of commotion going on at Collier’s home the night before she vanished. HORRIFIC SCHOOL SHOOTING SPAWNS REALITY SHOW?
Nicolas Cruz pleaded guilty to killing 17 people, including students and teachers at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The penalty phase of the trial is underway with jurors being asked to decide whether Cruz should spend the rest of his life in prison or be sentenced to death. So far there have been 11 days of defense testimony, including the shooter's biological sister, who did not grow up in the same household as Cruz. During her testimony, she was asked about her mother's use of heavy use of alcohol while pregnant and her knowledge of a reality show based on another brother, Zachary Cruz. A heated exchange between the judge and the defense has resulted in a motion being filed by the defense for Judge Elizabeth Scherer to remove herself from the case. When the defense suddenly rested its case without notice, Scherer called the defense decision "the most uncalled for, unprofessional way to try a case." The defense had indicated an intention to call 40 witnesses but rested after only 25. The sudden announcement meant prosecutors weren't ready to start their rebuttal case. SPECIAL WEEKEND CRIME STORIES UPDATE: Hubby's 'PROS & CONS' LIST TO 'KEEP' PREGNANT WIFE Found After She is Found Dead
A jury find Missouri husband Beau Rothwell guilty of killing his pregnant wife missing. Jennifer Rothwell's car is found abandoned just a mile from home. Beau Rothwell tells police he last saw Jennifer Rothwell, 28, that morning as she left for work. Days later, Jennifer Rothwell's body is found in a wooded area along Highway 61 near Troy. An autopsy stated that she suffered blunt force trauma to the head. The day after Jennifer Rothwell went missing, Beau Rothwell is arrested. Police believe he killed his wife — who was six weeks pregnant — sometime on November 11. Search warrants alleged that Jennifer Rothwell used the internet to search, “What to do if your husband is upset you are pregnant.” The same documents also stated that Beau Rothwell cleaned up some blood and left a small window to the garage open, despite freezing temperatures, to “dissipate the odor.” Beau Rothwell reportedly told authorities where his pregnant wife’s remains were located. Turns out Beau Rothwell was having an affair and made a pro/con list on whether to stay in the marriage. Reporter Stabbed Dead After Vegas Politician's Alleged Sex Affair Exposed
Jeff German, a Las Vegas Review-Journal Investigative Reporter, is found dead outside his home. Days later, cops release surveillance video of a possible suspect in a wide-brimmed straw hat, an orange safety shirt, and black pants walking near the scene. More investigation revealed that German's reporting put him at odds with elected Public Administrator, Robert Telles. Earlier this year, German reported that Telles created a toxic work environment and was having an extra-marital affair with an employee. These claims seem to have cost Telles his re-election bid. Investigators searched Robert Telles' home, towing a red SUV, and finding shoes with apparent blood on them. A straw hat matching the one shown in the video was also found. Both articles had been cut up in an effort to destroy evidence, but DNA under German's fingernails told police everything they needed to know. Telles has been arrested for German's murder, and held without bail. 3 Tots Drowned Dead, Mommy Suspected Drunk, on Boardwalk
Three young children found dead on a New York beach were allegedly drowned by their mother. Police say 30-year-old Erin Merdy reportedly confessed to the murders. A 90-minute search was launched early Monday after several of Merdy's relatives called police, concerned that Merdy may have done something to her children. The children ages, 7, 4, and 3 months, were found lying in the sand. Merdy, meanwhile, was nearly two miles away on the Brighton Beach boardwalk. Merdy was soaking wet, barefoot, and walking in her bathrobe. Speculation is that Merdy may have been drinking or suffering postpartum depression. No confirmation of either has yet been made. BRUTAL MURDER OF MEMPHIS MOM ELIZA COULD HAVE BEEN STOPPED? Explosive Claim
The suspect in the brutal attack on Memphis mom Eliza Fletcher is now charged with a rape occurring a year before Fletcher's murder. Cleotha Abston Henderson appeared in court indicted on charges of unlawful possession of a weapon, aggravated rape, and kidnapping in relation to the September 21, 2021 incident. A sexual assault kit was submitted to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation two days after the alleged rape, but no request was made for expedited analysis. The kit sat for months in line with other cases waiting for testing. The kit was finally processed and once the initial report was completed, the information was then entered into the FBI DNA database on 29 August. A positive match came back three days after Fletcher was kidnapped. SPECIAL WEEKEND CRIME STORIES UPDATE: Alex Murdaugh Attorney Accuses Prosecutors of Withholding Evidence
Alex Murdaugh's attorney accuses prosecutors of “hiding the ball” and not handed over any evidence they have in the deaths of Murdaugh’s wife and son. Attorney Dick Harpootlian and attorney Jim Griffin filed a motion to compel prosecutors to reveal evidence. It's been more than a month since Murdaugh was indicted by a state grand jury of murdering is wife and son. Harpootlian said the motion asked Judge Clifton Newman to order that evidence be turned over to the defense “immediately without delay.” Part of that evidence, according to FITSNews, is high-velocity spatter found on a shirt worn by Murdaugh that may show he was present at the time his wife and son were murdered. In the last days, Judge Clifton Newman ordered the evidence released, along with a temporary protective order in place, that is to ensure only lawyers and people testifying will be able to see the evidence. Girl, 10, Snatched from Ohio Bay Shopping Strip, Family Gets Bizarre Calls
Amy Mihaljevic was just 10 years old when she went missing. She told friends at school the day she disappeared that she was going with someone to buy her mom a surprise gift. Eyewitnesses reported seeing Amy speaking with a white male, at a local ice cream shop and then leaving with him through a parking lot. Later police discover that Mihaljevic and other girls in the area had been contacted by telephone by the abductor. The estimated 30-something-year-old man arranged to meet Mihaljevic after school. Just over three months later, Amy's body was found by a jogger in a farm field in a nearby town. Investigators say it appears the little girl's body was most likely dumped shortly after her abduction. Mihaljevic dies from a combination of stab wounds to the neck and a blow to her head. Some of the things that were known to be with or on Mihaljevic that day have never been found: the boots Amy was wearing, a denim backpack, a binder with "Buick, Best in Class" written on it, and turquoise earrings in the shape of horse heads. Theresa Fillingim was almost 17 years old when she disappeared. She was living with her sister in Florida, trying to find a job. Fillingim leaves for an interview and is never seen again. SPECIAL WEEKEND CRIME STORIES UPDATE: Motive Revealed in Vanessa Guillen's murder?
Soldier Vanessa Guillen was brutally murdered at a Texas military base by fellow soldier Spc. Aaron Robinson. A document from the Texas Department of Public Safety reveals that Robinson killed Guilllen was because she saw a photo of a woman on Robinson's phone. That photo was of Cecily Aguilar, the wife of another soldier, with whom Robinson was having an affair. A $35 million dollar lawsuit against the Army has been filed in Guillen's death by her family. The lawsuit is seeking damages for wrongful death but that's not all. OnlyFans Model Stabs Boyfriend Dead, Claims Self-Defense
OnlyFans model and Instagram influencer Courtney Clenney was arrested on charges that she stabbed her boyfriend to death at a Miami high-rise. Christian Obumseli, 27, was fatally stabbed inside the couple's apartment. An attorney for Clenney says that the 25-year-old “was a victim of physical, emotional, and mental abuse at the hands of Obumseli” and killed him in self-defense. The two had been dating for about two years and lived at the apartment building for several months. Police say they’ve responded to multiple calls to the apartment, and apartment staff had also noted multiple domestic incidents and tried to evict them. Friends of the couple said it was unimaginable that Obumseli could have been violent toward Clenney, saying while they had seen Clenney hit Obumseli, they had never seen him hit her.
