On April 16th, 2022 a mushroom hunter calls 911 to tell them he’s found an abandoned suitcase in the middle of the woods. Inside the suitcase is the body of a young boy. The boy is later identified as 5-year-old Cairo Ammar Jordan from Atlanta, Georgia. He was never reported missing. May 4, 2007: 19-year-old Brittany McGlone is working two jobs to save money for college. After an overnight shift at a Lowe’s Distribution Center in Mount Vernon, Texas, McGlone drives to her boyfriend’s family home in Winnsboro to sleep. Boyfriend, Jeff Stogner, and his family start their days. Stogner's mom drives her children to school and then goes to work herself. Stogner and his stepfather leave for the airport hours away. Sometime in the next seven hours, McGlone is sexually assaulted and bludgeoned to death. An autopsy ruled the teen died from massive head trauma. 15 years later, there is an arrest in the case. Justin Fields, 38, and his girlfriend have an evening out to celebrate his birthday. Back at home after the evening, Fields asks for sex, but the girlfriend turns him down. Fields gets angry and stabs 52-year-old Tammy Bailey dead. Fields says he stabbed her once, then blacked out. According to the sheriff, Fields says he went into his own room and fell asleep. When he woke up, he reportedly said he thought he was having a bad dream and went on to stab his girlfriend over 100 times. Bailey was decapitated and her head was found near her feet. Bailey was waiting for police outside his home when they arrived. 21-year-old Julian Chavez repeatedly violates not only bond conditions but a restraining order filed by a 20-year-old woman. Chavez stalked the woman and broke into her home, yet still bonded out of jail. While Chavez is out on bond, he was convicted of four misdemeanors, yet remained free and in possession of a handgun. Reports say the District Attorney's Office asked 232nd Criminal District Court Judge Josh Hill to revoke Chavez's bond and deny bail for the latest charge. Instead, bond was set at $100,000. Four University of Idaho friends are found murdered in an off-campus home. Police arrived at the home around noon on Sunday, following a call about an "unresponsive person" and found the bodies inside. Police are releasing few details but say the murders were a targeted attack with an edged weapon. Police assisting in the investigation were reportedly shocked at the amount of blood found at the crime scene. A source told DailyMail that, “there was blood everywhere," with the scene described as “blood oozing through the walls” of the rented home. Blood was also reportedly found on the side of the house and on the back porch. Moscow police say that Ethan Chapin, 20; Madison Mogen, 21; Xana Kernodle, 20; and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, were found dead at the residence. The family of Claudio Mandia sues an elite New York school after their 17-year-old son commits suicide. Mandia was accused of cheating and admitted to having another student compose a math paper for him. The school, EF Academy, expelled Mandia and is accused of putting him in solitary confinement until his family could arrive from Italy. School officials dispute the claim. The year leading up to Mandia's death was rife with personal issues that affected the boy's academic performance. There was a bout with Covid and a close family member died after an illness. There was also the additional stress of trying to make up the mound of assignments that Mandia missed when he was sick. The family's suit alleges wrongful death, negligence, false imprisonment and emotional distress, among other charges. The suit also alleges that the school “often recklessly disregards the psychological needs of its students." It notes that one of Mandia's classmates had tried to kill himself the year before. A spokesperson for EF Academy says the filing contains "multiple inaccurate statements." Mandia's family says he originally applied to the rigorous academic program to lay a foundation for him to fulfill his dream of attending a top university in Italy. A 9-year-old North Carolina boy was reportedly forced to live locked in a dog cage for the last six months. The boy's father, stepmother, and the stepmother's aunt were arrested on child abuse and related charges. The trio is facing a total of 19 felony child abuse indictments. Deputies responded to the family home on October 19 after receiving an anonymous 911 call regarding possible child abuse. The caller reportedly told police that her husband had previously taken food to the victim. Upon arrival, deputies noticed the boy inside a locked dog kennel wearing no shirt, jeans, and no shoes, even though temperatures were below freezing and frost was on the ground. Deputies found the stepmother inside a bedroom with a 4-year-old under the bed and the 8-month-old still in her arms. She claimed she didn’t know the combination for the cage lock, forcing EMS and deputies to break the cage open. The 9-year-old was taken to the Brenner’s Children’s Hospital in Winston-Salem, police said, where he received a medical checkup and was released the same day. Slain New York mother Orsolya Gaal's handyman/lover avoid a murder charge by pleading guilty to manslaughter in the mother's deal. David Bonola accepted a plead deal and will be sentenced to 25 years in prison. Prosecutors say Bonola stabbed the 51-year-old wife and mother of two nearly 50 times in her home in April, then stuffed her dismembered body in a duffel bag and dumped it at a park. Police say Gaal and David Bonola had a two-year affair. Chief James Essig says Bonola arrived at Gaal’s home between 12:30 a.m. and 12:40 a.m. on April 16. An argument broke out, which continued in the basement where Gaal was stabbed with a knife from her own kitchen. Police believe the suspect then stuffed Gaal in her son’s hockey bag. Investigators searched the suspect’s garbage and found a bloody pair of work boots and other bloodied items. Police are looking for a man who tries to kidnap a 10-year-old Florida girl, twice. Surveillance video captures the man offering her candy and money. According to the girl's mother, the man had parked the van on the side of the street, opened the door, and asked her if she wanted some candy. The girl is able to escape. The next day the man again approaches the girl saying," you forgot your candy yesterday." A witness asked the girl if she knew the man. The girl said no, but at the same time, the suspect says he is the girl's grandfather. The witness told the girl to run. It’s been 15 years since Caylee Anthony died. Her mother, Casey Anthony, was acquitted of first-degree murder but was convicted of lying to police and served a three-year prison sentence. Now, Anthony will reportedly explain all in a new three-part docuseries airing on Peacock at the end of the month. Showrunner and Director Alexandra Dean says in a release that the programs will explore Anthony's "personal archives" and "behind the scenes" footage. Dean writes, “Since her acquittal in 2011, public opinion of Casey Anthony has been largely shaped by the media convinced of her guilt.” Anthony has never given an in-depth or on-camera interview explaining her actions. McKenna Brown, a teen hockey star, commits suicide after alleged bullying by three hockey teammates. The group of teens had been friends for years, but that changed when Brown asked one of the girls if it would be ok for her to begin talking with that girl's former boyfriend. The girl said yes, but her actions over the next few days proved it was far from fine. The girls allegedly began harassing Brown via text messages. Even after Brown apologized, the attacks continue. The teammate encouraged others to cut ties with McKenna and “leave her without a single friend.” The bullies also reportedly shared deeply private information about Brown's sexual assault with other members of the hockey team. Within hours, Cheryl Brown would find her daughter dead on the bedroom floor. Since the bullying came to light, the three teammates have been suspended pending the outcome of an investigation into what happened. The Lightning High School Hockey League launched a probe, as did the Statewide Amateur Hockey of Florida, and USA Hockey hired outside counsel to perform another review. The girls are appealing their suspension. No one has been charged in connection with McKenna Brown's death. A Florida jury has recommended life in prison for teen who killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Nikolas Cruz was spared the death penalty because in Florida, the jury must unanimously agreed. The 12 jurors deliberated for about seven hours. Ultimately, three jurors voted against the death penalty. On top of the life sentence, now an attorney who represented Cruz is being investigated by the Florida Bar Association. It's been over five years since two Delphi girls, Abby Williams and Libby German, were murdered near a popular hiking trail across Monon High Bridge. Today, law enforcement announce an arrest in the case as 50-year-old Richard M. Allen remains behind bars, charged with two counts of murder. It's been more than a decade since a 17-year-old New York girl disappears during a spontaneous Spring Break trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Now, Brittanee Drexel 's remains have been found and her killer has confessed. Drexel was last seen on video after she walked out the Bar Harbor hotel near downtown. She texted her boyfriend that she was returning to her hotel and was never seen again. Convicted sex offender Raymond Moody was first questioned about the girl's disappearance when Drexel when missing. Police searched Moody's residence but found nothing to link him to the crime. Technology advance in the years since rekindled suspicions that Moody was the killer and he has pleaded guilty to the charges of murder and first-degree sexual misconduct. A 5-year-old Georgia boy found dead in a suitcase in Indiana earlier this year now has a name, Cairo Ammar Jordan, and his mother is accused in his death. Dejuane Ludie, 57, Anderson of Atlanta, is on the run. Indiana police say another suspect, 40-year-old Dawn Elaine Coleman of Shreveport, Louisiana, is in custody. Investigators say the little boy died from an electrolyte imbalance. The medical examiner says that the imbalance was most likely due to a “viral gastroenteritis” caused by excessive vomiting or diarrhea. Toxicology tests came back negative and the boy had no severe injuries. Police do not believe the boy was alive when he was placed inside the suitcase. A mushroom hunter found the hardshell suitcase, which features the famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign. The boy's mother posted online recently saying she believed the child was really a 100-year-old demon. A 13-year-old Long Island boy dies after being struck by a hit-and-run driver. The teen dived to push his older sister out of the vehicle’s path. Tyler Phillips was walking with his 14-year-old sibling, returning from a nearby park, when they were hit by a vehicle with its lights turned off. Murder charges have been filed in the disappearance of Harmony Montgomery. New Hampshire police say that dad Adam Montgomery has been officially charged with second-degree murder. Police said that “on or about Dec. 7, 2019,” Montgomery repeatedly struck 5-year-old Harmony “in the head with a closed fist.” New Hampshire police say the then 5-year-old went missing sometime between Nov. 28 and Dec. 10, 2019. Her disappearance was not reported for two years. Police say new evidence, which was not revealed, indicated Montgomery is dead. The family of Harmony Montgomery says the New Hampshire Division For Children Youth and Families failed the little girl. According to Blair Miller, who adopted Harmony's younger brother, DCYF officials told him, Harmony had been reunited with her father. Miller had asked about the possibility of adopting Harmony as well. According to court documents, Kevin Montgomery, Adam's Uncle, called DCYF after he noticed Harmony had a black eye. Kevin Montgomery later told police his nephew, Adam, admitted to physically abusing Harmony. Montgomery's remains have not been found. Two teens escaped a Texas house of horrors, telling neighbors they were being abused. The two 16-year-old twins (a boy and girl) arrived at a neighbor’s home in Cypress at around 5:30 a.m. The twins could be seen in the neighbor's doorbell camera video barefoot and shivering. The boy had no shirt on. The twins also said they were hungry and that they hadn't eaten in a week. The Good Samaritan said the twins told her, "that their mom kept them locked in the laundry room, naked, zip tied from the ankles and handcuffed from the wrist.” When investigators interviewed the twins, they reportedly said they were not allowed to use a toilet and were made to drink their own urine and live in the laundry room, which was filled with feces. Police detained the children’s mother, identified as Zaikiya Duncan, 40, along with her boyfriend, Jova Terrell, 27.
