On Jan. 18, 2021, 46-year-old Francis Kelly’s body was discovered. Police find Kelly on his couch, in his home, and a bag of cocaine underneath him. The unexpected autopsy says he died of strangulation. All while during a heated custody battle between Kelly and Littlefield. In this episode of Body Bags, forensics expert Joseph Scott Morgan and Jackie Howard discuss how Francis Kelly’s death was ultimately a staged overdose, the significant differences between fentanyl and cocaine, how the body reacts to the different drugs, why strangulation was not obvious to investigators, and much more! Boy, 5, FOLDED DEAD IN A SUITCASE, Just ID'd
A 5-year-old Georgia boy found dead in a suitcase in Indiana earlier this year now has a name, Cairo Ammar Jordan, and his mother is accused in his death. Dejuane Ludie, 57, Anderson of Atlanta, is on the run. Indiana police say another suspect, 40-year-old Dawn Elaine Coleman of Shreveport, Louisiana, is in custody. Investigators say the little boy died from an electrolyte imbalance. The medical examiner says that the imbalance was most likely due to a “viral gastroenteritis” caused by excessive vomiting or diarrhea. Toxicology tests came back negative and the boy had no severe injuries. Police do not believe the boy was alive when he was placed inside the suitcase. A mushroom hunter found the hardshell suitcase, which features the famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign. The boy's mother posted online recently saying she believed the child was really a 100-year-old demon. Missing Tot Harmony Montgomery Dad Busted For Murder
Murder charges have been filed in the disappearance of Harmony Montgomery. New Hampshire police say that dad Adam Montgomery has been officially charged with second-degree murder. Police said that “on or about Dec. 7, 2019,” Montgomery repeatedly struck 5-year-old Harmony “in the head with a closed fist.” New Hampshire police say the then 5-year-old went missing sometime between Nov. 28 and Dec. 10, 2019. Her disappearance was not reported for two years. Police say new evidence, which was not revealed, indicated Montgomery is dead. The family of Harmony Montgomery says the New Hampshire Division For Children Youth and Families failed the little girl. According to Blair Miller, who adopted Harmony's younger brother, DCYF officials told him, Harmony had been reunited with her father. Miller had asked about the possibility of adopting Harmony as well. According to court documents, Kevin Montgomery, Adam's Uncle, called DCYF after he noticed Harmony had a black eye. Starving Children Run Door-to-Door For Help, Forced to Eat Feces, Handcuffed
Two teens escaped a Texas house of horrors, telling neighbors they were being abused. The two 16-year-old twins (a boy and girl) arrived at a neighbor’s home in Cypress at around 5:30 a.m. The twins could be seen in the neighbor's doorbell camera video barefoot and shivering. The boy had no shirt on. The twins also said they were hungry and that they hadn't eaten in a week. The Good Samaritan said the twins told her, "that their mom kept them locked in the laundry room, naked, zip tied from the ankles and handcuffed from the wrist.” When investigators interviewed the twins, they reportedly said they were not allowed to use a toilet and were made to drink their own urine and live in the laundry room, which was filled with feces. Accused Killer, Vegas Politician, Cries in Court After Stabbing Reporter For Exposing Alleged Sex Affair
Jeff German, a Las Vegas Review-Journal Investigative Reporter, is found dead outside his home. Now his alleged killer cries in court. Days later, cops release surveillance video of a possible suspect in a wide-brimmed straw hat, an orange safety shirt, and black pants walking near the scene. More investigation revealed that German's reporting put him at odds with elected Public Administrator, Robert Telles. Earlier this year, German reported that Telles created a toxic work environment and was having an extra-marital affair with an employee. These claims seem to have cost Telles his re-election bid. Investigators searched Robert Telles' home, towing a red SUV, and finding shoes with apparent blood on them. A straw hat matching the one shown in the video was also found. Both articles had been cut up in an effort to destroy evidence, but DNA under German's fingernails told police everything they needed to know. Telles has been arrested for German's murder, and held without bail. FIEND Hog-Ties Victim With Christmas Lights, Sex Assaults Her After Tricking Daughter to 'Crack Window'
Alisa Mathewson and her estranged husband Trevor Summers had been going through a bitter divorce. The couple had five children. There were allegations that Summers was obsessed and possessive, and a restraining order against him backed those allegations. Then one night Summers tricked his then-14-year-old daughter into leaving a window unlocked for him. He told he want to talk to Mathewson. Summers broke into the house and attacked Mathewson in her bedroom, holding her there for hours after sending the children to his home. Summers tied up his estranged wife with Christmas lights and then a vacuum cleaner cord. After hours of being bounded and gagged, Mathewson says she was raped twice. Summers then hogtied her and tried to smother her to death with a pillow. He then made Mathewson leave with him. Summers drove to a Walgreens, where Mathewson, with her hands tied behind her back, tried to get away. An employee saw it all and called the police. Summers was charged with two counts of attempted murder in the first degree, sexual battery, and kidnapping. Legal Heir Alex Murdaugh, Suspect in Wife & Son's Murders Names 'REAL KILLER'
Attorneys for disgraced South Carolina lawyer Alex Murdaugh are pointing the finger at Murdaugh's cousin Curtis "Eddie" Smith. In a new court filing, the lawyers say that Smith, who reportedly failed a polygraph, should have been more rigorously investigated as a prime suspect by police. During a polygraph five months ago, Smith was asked three times about his involvement in the shootings that killed Maggie and Paul Smith. Smith replied, no, to those questions, meaning he was not involved. Police sources say Smith's answers indicate an attempt at deception. He lied. MOM DRAINS POND HERSELF WITH SUMP PUMP TO FIND MURDERED SON WHEN SHERIFFS REFUSE
Edward Goodwin went missing in June 2015. For more than two years, his family didn't know what happened to their son. Eventually, witnesses say Goodwin had been beaten to death, his body dumped into a pond. The sheriff’s department partially drained the pond and found human hip bones, a femur bone, and some ribs. Edward Goodwin's body had been found, but the rest of his body was never recovered. This is despite assurances from law enforcement that the recovery would happen. After waiting for authorities to act, Connie Goodwin, Edward's mom, took it upon herself to get her son back. The Goodwins rented a sump pump to drain the pond themselves. As they started pumping the water out, bones could be seen sticking up through the water. The coroner was called and Edward Goodwin came home. 'Supermom' Sherri Papini Hubby 'Blindsided' by Kidnapping Hoax
New interrogation videos show Keith Papini's shock at finding out his wife's kidnapping was actually a hoax. Keith Papini described himself to investigators as "the idiot husband that stayed around the whole time." The 39-year-old mom was reported missing on November 2, and told investigators when she was found 22 days later that a pair of Hispanic women kidnapped her at gunpoint. Papini said her kidnappers abused her and then shoved her out of a car. Papini was emaciated, her hair was cut shorter, and she had cuts and bruises all over her body, but prosecutors said she caused the injuries herself. The case was broken in 2020 when DNA led investigators to Papini’s ex, who told them she had been with him the entire time. Federal prosecutors charged Papini with 34 counts of mail fraud and one count of making false statements. Papini accepted a plea deal but didn't explain why she created an elaborate kidnapping hoax, although she apologized for her actions. Since her arrest, Papini's husband has started divorce proceedings, and Sherri Papini soon begins her jail sentence.
