Pregnant Woman Raped, HELD 5 YEARS IN PADLOCK GARAGE
A woman calls police saying that she has been held prisoner for five years, by a man who offered to help her at a time when she was panhandling. Police first made contact with her in April of 2023. Using the texting app TextNow, she called 911. According to KPRC, police rescued the woman from the garage. Reportedly, the approximately 30-year-old victim weighed about 70 pounds and according to officers, looked extremely malnourished and filthy. She stated she had not showered in two months. I Investigators went inside the garage and found a broken toilet, a dirty mattress covered in fresh vomit, a box of chips, a few Twinkies, clothes, and diapers. The woman told police there was no shower in the garage, so she would be taken inside the home from time to time. Police took the woman to the hospital for treatment, but reports say the man showed up and took her back to his home. The suspect has been identified as Lee Carter, a Houston rapper known as "The Viper." His 2008 song, “You’ll Cowards Don’t Even Smoke Crack,” garnered over 4 million views on YouTube. Reportedly he is also a real estate broker. According to corporate records and the Texas Real Estate Commission, he owns and operates a moving company in Houston. That company is registered to the address where he allegedly held the woman. Fox News reports a warrant was filed against Carter in April, but his arrest at a local motel did not happen until the last few days. Carter, 52, has been charged with aggravated kidnapping. Officials have not given a reason for the nine-month gap between the April incident and the arrest. It is unknown what happened with the victim's pregnancy while she was held captive. DID GEORGE AND CINDY ANTHONY LIE?
June 16, 2008: the last day 2-year-old Caylee Anthony is seen alive. One month later, her grandmother Cindy Anthony franticly calls 911 to report her granddaughter is missing. Casey Anthony claims that a babysitter kidnapped her daughter. By October, when nothing Casey tells police turns out to be true, she is arrested and charged with Caylee's death, even though Caylee is still missing. On December 11, Caylee's remains are found in a garbage bag, dumped in a wooded area near the Anthony home. Eight days later, Caylee's death is ruled a homicide. Prosecutors announce they will seek the death penalty against her. At Casey Anthony's trial, her lawyer first made claims that George Anthony was molesting his daughter and that he staged Caylee's death to look like a drowning to cover up that he may have been abusing his granddaughter as well. Those claims, made again after Casey Anthony is acquitted of the death, have haunted the Anthonys for years. Now, George and Cindy Anthony agree to take a lie detector test in front of cameras for the A&E network special "Casey Anthony's Parents: The Lie Detector Test." Gypsy Rose Blanchard: Free
More than two years shy of her 10-year sentence, Gypsy Rose Blanchard is free. Blanchard was convicted of second-degree murder after she admitted to having her boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, kill her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. Now she is out from behind bars at the Chillicothe Correctional Center. Dee Dee Blanchard is believed to have suffered from Munchausen by proxy — which caused forcing her daughter to use a wheelchair and subjecting her to unnecessary medical treatments, all to foster attention to Dee Dee herself. Before the murder, Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s mother allegedly isolated her and tied her to a bed to stop her from escaping. Gypsy Rose Blanchard is now married and picked up from prison by her husband. Her book, “Released: Conversations on the Eve of Freedom," is expected to come out on January 9. CHRISTMAS MURDER-BY-FREEZER? Relatives Arrive For Holiday, Find DEAD WOMAN IN FREEZER
Around 11:45 a.m., two days before Christmas, a 911 call is made to the San Diego Police Department. Out-of-town visitors find a badly decomposed body inside a chest freezer. The case is turned over to the homicide unit. San Diego police say due to the frozen condition of the body, the only thing they can confirm is that the corpse is female. During our broadcast, it's announced that the body has been identified as Mary Margaret Haxby-Jones. She would have been 81 years old at the time her remains were found. It's believed that she lived at the home at some point. She may have been missing or dead for up to nine years. SDPD says no missing report was ever filed for her. Police say the out-of-town visitors were not related to Haxby-Jones. Instead, they are related to someone currently living at the residence. The Medical Examiner's Office is working to determine the cause of death. And again, the body did not have any obvious traumatic injuries. TWO CHILDREN DEAD IN THEIR BEDS? The Curious Case of 35-year-old Mom, Kimberlee Singler
Just after midnight, Kimberlee Singler, 35, calls 911 to report a home break-in. She tells police that two of her children have been murdered. The police response report says Officers found "an adult female and an 11-year-old female who had sustained injuries," as well as a 9-year-old girl and 7-year-old boy who were "deceased at the scene." Singler’s third child, an 11-year-old daughter, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. She's hospitalized for a few days and then released. Singler is also treated for minor injuries. As police investigate the reported burglary, Singler works with officers, giving statements about what happened. Then police determined the burglary report was unfounded, and presented evidence to obtain a warrant for Singler's arrest, but the mom is nowhere to be found. Since she was not a suspect, Singler was not under surveillance, and by the time she needed to be, she was gone. Police uncover an ongoing legal battle between the mom and her ex-husband Kevin Wentz. Wentz’s attorneys say their contentious divorce and custody dispute has been going on for over five years. Just three months ago, Kimberlee Singler filed a request for a temporary protection order in El Paso County. She claims Kevin Wentz waved a knife at her. Wentz denies the allegations. Two months later, in a different jurisdiction, a Larimer County court held a hearing on Singler's emergency motion to restrict parenting time over the same allegations about the knife. The court rescinded the order finding there was no imminent threat from Wentz. The court ordered that the children have additional time with their father, Kevin Wentz, around Thanksgiving and again from December 16 through December 31. It was arranged for the child exchanges to take place at a police station in Colorado Springs and the Greely Police Station. When Singler failed to show up with the children, Wentz's attorney filed an emergency motion to law enforcement for assistance to enforce parenting time. The Court granted the motion. Wentz was awarded custody. The Colorado Springs police investigation led to the charges against Kimberlee Singler. On December 26th, investigators established probable cause and obtained an arrest warrant for Kimberlee Singler on multiple charges, including 2 counts – Murder in the First Degree, Class One Felony, 1 count – Criminal Attempt – Murder in the First Degree Child Abuse, and Assault in the First Degree. Details of the arrest warrant are currently sealed under court order and are expected to be unsealed at a later time. Singler was arrested in London and is fighting her extradition. BOY, 5, FOLDED DEAD IN A SUITCASE, MOMMY STILL ON THE RUN
The mother of 5-year-old Georgia boy, Cairo Ammar Jordan, found dead in a suitcase in Indiana, is still on the run more than a year after the child was found.. His mother, Dejuane Ludie, accused in his death, is still at large. Investigators say the little boy died from an electrolyte imbalance. The medical examiner says that the imbalance was most likely due to a “viral gastroenteritis” caused by excessive vomiting or diarrhea. Sisters Carla Atkins & Vickie Stout go for gum & crackers, found in shallow graves
Vickie Stout and Carla Sue Atkins were half-sisters. The teens, who were extremely close with each other, share the same mother. were very close. The girls walked to a combination bait shop, restaurant, and convenience store called "The Furnace" to pick up some snacks. Witnesses report seeing the girls talking to someone in a blue pickup truck. That’s the last time anyone has seen the sisters. In the days that followed, local law enforcement labeled the sisters as runaways. A hiker then called the police after smelling a foul odor. Boating Accident or HOMICIDE? The Curious Case of Graham McCormick
Rand Hooper and Graham McCormick are both from the Richmond area. McCormick moved to Atlanta for a job but took time to return to Irvington to visit his friend, staying with him at his home. The next day, Sallie Graham gets a text from Hooper asking if she’s heard from her son, if not, then he is missing. Graham says her son was known for his responsibility, as signified by his fraternity nickname... Grahampa, a reference to maturity. Graham asks about a search to find McCormick, searching the water, checking with neighbors in town, and more. The answer: He's not there. McCormick’s mother, father and brother drive from their home as they learn McCormick was missing. Graham checks by the dock, where her son was last known to be, using an oar to poke and prod at the water. From there, Graham knocks on neighbors’ doors, then returns to the Hoopers. Soon, a neighbor tells Sallie Graham, a body had been found. Graham McCormick’s body is found floating in Carter Creek off the Rappahannock River around 11:30 that morning, around two miles north of the Hooper’s home. The State Medical Examiner ruled that McCormick died from drowning, blunt-force trauma a contributing factor in the death. Three days after the initial visit to the home, Lancaster sheriff’s detectives spot damage to the Hooper family boat. The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries reconstructed a crash and determined the boat had been involved in an accident near where McCormick’s body was found. The investigation reveals that McCormick and Hooper spent the evening drinking, then took Hooper’s 1999 Boston Whaler boat out. The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries concluded that the vessel struck a bulkhead jutting out of the water near where McCormick was found. Investigators believe McCormick was ejected from the boat. Police say it appeared that it had been slammed against the rocks, over and over again. McCormick had lacerations on the left side of his head and the back of his body, and blunt-force trauma. The medical examiner concluded that the injuries alone would not have killed the 31-year-old McCormick. Those injuries should have been survivable, she said. However, McCormick’s blood alcohol level was 186. It would be three years before Rand Hooper would face additional charges in Graham McCormick’s death. Initially, Hooper was charged with a misdemeanor count of failing to make a timely report of the boat accident. Those charges were upgraded to involuntary manslaughter with a proposed deal of just one year in prison, but a special prosecutor determined that more charges were appropriate as Hooper was accused of operating his boat while intoxicated, leading to a crash that killed McCormick. Hooper was arrested and charged with felony murder, involuntary manslaughter while under the influence operating a watercraft, and failure to stop and assist with serious injury or death. ANGEL-OF-DEATH NURSE SECRETLY MURDERS PATIENTS ON NIGHT SHIFT
On August 31, a Quality of Life staff member finds a 73-year-old male patient convulsing in his bed. With no history of seizures and according to his medical chart, he was given medication ten minutes before the seizures began. The Post Gazette reports the man is rushed to Butler Hospital, where doctors discover hypoglycemia behind the seizures, but the patient is not diabetic. Treating doctors believe the only way this patient's blood sugar could have plummeted to that extent is if someone had given him a massive dose of insulin. The attending physician gets the man stabilized and he recovers. About six weeks after the 73-year-old man ends up in the hospital after having seizures, another resident, a 55-year-old, is admitted to the hospital to be treated for a urinary tract infection. While in the hospital, nurses discover he too, is hypoglycemic. His blood sugar is stabilized. Nearly 4 weeks after leaving the hospital, the 55-year-old male patient is back at Butler Memorial Hospital, his blood sugar so abnormally low that medical staff are suspicious. WTAE Reports Investigators say the man's pre-existing medical conditions would prevent him from administering the insulin himself, it would have to be done by someone else. Three hours later his 83-year-old suitemate at Quality of Life Services is admitted with the same symptoms, hypoglycemia. Both men ultimately die. While the initial investigation was sparked by suspicions of improper administration of insulin as the cause of the untimely deaths of two patients, coworkers sent the inquiry in a co-worker's direction, Heather Pressdee. Heather Pressdee, 40, is now facing charges of homicide, attempted murder, aggravated assault, neglect of a care-dependent person, and reckless endangerment in connection with the deaths of a 55--year-old man and an 83-year-old man, as well as the injury of a 73-year-old man. Honor Student, 13, Stabs Mom DEAD IN NECK, Next to Infant Daughter: CONFESSES
A shocked courtroom heard Derek Rosa tell police he stabbed his mother to death in her sleep as his baby sister slept next to her in the bed. After hearing the teen's taped confession, Miami Dade Circuit Judge Richard Hersch rejected a defense motion to move Rosa out of the adult jail and into a juvenile facility. The defense says it is unconstitutional to keep Rosa in an adult cell, claiming he is being kept in unsustainable conditions and is only allowed outside the cell for 20 hours a week. After rejecting the motion, the judge orders Rosa to be held in the Miami-Dade Metro West Detention Center until his unscheduled trial begins. Reportedly, the night Derek Rosa stabs his mother to death, he makes six Google searches including, “What is the best place to stab someone?” " "Is a small knife good for killing?” “ "Is it easier to kill someone with a small knife?” “Can a knife cut through bone?” He also searched for an image of The Carotid Artery diagram. The DailyMail reports the last search made that night was to inquire about a machine gun. Derek Rosa claims in a police interview that his stepfather owns two guns and he planned to shoot himself after the stabbing but didn't go through with it. WHY 'VITAMIN K' KILLED 'FRIENDS' STAR MATTHEW PERRY
Matthew Perry wrote about his issues with addiction to alcohol and drugs. In his memoir, he said he began drinking at 14 and was an alcoholic by 18. Perry first went to rehab and completed a 28-day program at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation after a jet-ski accident led to an addiction to Vicodin. In his 2022 memoir, "Friends, Lovers, and the Big, Terrible Thing," Perry claimed to have been to rehab 15 times, detoxed 65 times, and spent about $7 to $9 million trying to get sober. After years of addiction, Matthew Perry spent 5-months in the hospital after his colon burst from prolonged opioid abuse. Perry says he was in surgery for seven hours and in a coma for two weeks. Doctors told his family he had a 2% chance of survival. After leaving the hospital, Perry used a colostomy bag for months. Two years after his near-death experience, Matthew Perry goes to a Rehab facility in Switzerland. He wrote that he faked pain symptoms to get Oxycontin during COVID. He was also getting daily Ketamine infusions. While at the facility, Perry needed to have surgery and was given propofol. When he woke up 11 hours later, he found out his heart had stopped for 5 minutes and during the long CPR process 8 of his ribs were broken. The doctor then refused more meds. On October 28, Matthew Perry went to his country club to play a game of Pickleball with friends. Perry returned to his home after the game and was seen by his assistant, who was leaving the house to run errands. At 4 p.m., the assistant returned home and found Perry floating face down in the heated end of the pool. Paramedics pulled Perry out of the pool and pronounced him dead at the scene. The DailyMail reports the actor died from an overdose of the "party drug ketamine." BLUE BLOOD LAWYER 'Accidentally' Shoots Wife Dead, Sells Her $350,000 Wardrobe, GETS NEW TRIAL
Tex McIver is a prominent Atlanta lawyer and Vice Chair of the State Elections Board; his wife, Diane, is a beautiful, incredibly successful businesswoman in her own right. They have been married for 11 years, but on a September night, Tex McIver shoots his wife in the back, killing her. Diane McIver is shot inside a Ford Expedition she is riding in with her husband and a close family friend. They are returning home from their ranch in Putnam County late on Sunday night. Diane is in the front passenger seat, Tex is in the back seat. Dani Jo Carter is driving the SUV back from the Ranch to the Condo in Buckhead when the interstate traffic gets heavy and she takes an exit into Downtown Atlanta. McIver tells the police it was a bad area and he asked his wife to hand him his gun. He said it was in the center console up front. Diane McIver hands Tex his gun. He later says they are out of danger before falling asleep. He wakes up when Dani Jo stops the car, and somehow the gun is fired. As friends come to offer condolences on the passing of his wife, most expect to see Tex McIver upset, in shock that he accidentally shot his wife, the love of his life, and caused her death. Instead, they find a man who seems more concerned about money. Within two days of Diane's death, Tex is asking about his wife's Social Security benefits. Then, Tex McIver seems to be investigating how to liquidate his late wife's assets. He organizes many of his wife's possessions to sell at an auction as part of an estate sale and says he was liquidating things to settle his wife's estate. McIver sold everything he could of his wife's clothing, jewelry, furs, hats, just about everything. The sale lasted several days. It was later revealed that he owed his wife nearly $350,000 which she loaned him for a barn he built on the ranch for guests on their estate Atlanta police eventually decided to charge Tex McIver with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct in the shooting death of his wife. The charges seem to suggest that they believe Tex McIver's claim that the shooting was an accident. The day after a judge sends McIver to jail, he is indicted of malice murder, along with six other charges, including three counts of influencing a witness. Her husband, Patrick Clancy sets up a home office in the basement to work remotely, so he can be on hand to help. When Lindsay starts to have thoughts of suicide, and worse, hurting the children, she checks herself into the McLean Psychiatric Hospital, Five days after checking into a psychiatric hospital Lindsay Clancy is reportedly told she doesn't have postpartum depression. Husband Patrick Clancy tells friends that after her hospital stay, Lindsay seems to be getting better. She is sleeping better, interacting with friends and family, and going out in public without any difficulty. When Patrick Clancy asks his wife if she is having any suicidal thoughts, Lindsay Clancy says "No." Later on in the year, with his wife having been prescribed at least 13 different medications, Patrick Clancy texts a friend saying he’s concerned that Lindsey has been prescribed too many medications. Young Mom 'VANISHES' on Cross Country Trip: Where is Katie?
Katie Ferguson and Adam Aviles Jr. have been involved in a relationship for several years and share two daughters. When Katie and Adam separate, Adam stays in Cody, Wyoming. Katie and the girls move in with Katie Ferguson's mother, Mona Hartling, in Dothan, Alabama. After spending the summer with her mother, Katie Ferguson reaches out to her ex, Adam Aviles Jr. She wants the girls to have time with their dad. Katie Ferguson tells her family that Adam has really "grown up" since they have been apart. Adam starts the round-trip drive from Wyoming. On their drive back, Aviles, Ferguson, and their girls draw the attention of local police. They are sitting in a parking lot with the front passenger door open on their Dodge Durango. A Trumann, Arkansas police officer asks how they are doing. Katie Ferguson tells the officer they are a bit tired but fine. Four days later, the Dodge Durango, with Adam Aviles Jr. behind the wheel, is captured by a Texas DPS patrol camera. Two things are noticeably different from the police encounter in Arkansas. Katie Ferguson is not in the vehicle and, there is a projectile hole in the front passenger door concealed with tape. Where is Katie?
