S9 Ep 18Christmas Help: Controlling personal anxiety
Christmas is a wonderful holiday. Everyone is getting gifts and you may be thinking of what you don't have, missing those who aren't here, and so much more. While everyone is wrapped in joy you may be seriously in a place of despair. It may be a silent issue as you feel like saying that would damper others so you smile in rooms you don't want to be in...........................With that being said, here are some of the ways I use to help me:honestytake breaksjournaltherapy sessionIn the podcast I talk about the ways I use things to help me. How to manage my feelings and levels of anxiety during high stress moments is key. Changing the tone in how I talk to my family and friends helps diffuse things too regardless if I 'shouldn't" have to do all of that............................Wishing you a great season. Also later on the blog today I list 5 journal prompts, 5 podcasts to listen to, and 5 more tactics to use during the holiday season. .......................Follow me on all socials as Toitimeblog
S9 Ep 17The Gospel according to Jess
Oh how transformative gospel music can be. However when you are queer the church institution is one of the most isolating. Trying to water who you are out of fear of not being accepted is one thing but straying away from the faith seems to be the solution until Jess performed in the Color Purple Broadway show and it brought her back to it all........................Tune in as we listen to Jessica Johnson as we talk about how the power of gospel music is so transformative. In addition catch Jess as she and the community in Norristown shines the light on the weekend of December 15-17th at Theatre Horizon. S9 Ep 16Back then isn't Our Right Now
If you ever had an old school momma or aunt or whomever in your life tell you about how back then used to be and the changes that we see now, this is your episode. We respect and love what back then taught us. We love the richness of the history but right now we also have to add in skills set to live that helps us be better people.......................................With Mental Health often times people are scared to try the things that could help them because someone in their life with no knowledge on if that new tactic will work is discouraging them from getting the help they need. This isn't fair. Not going to therapy because you have been conditioned to keep things "in house" could be the dynamic that holds you back from living in your purpose. ...............................Current events talked aboutBeyonce MovieThe Color Purple-I seen it and I have a small reviewJason Lee calling Jennifer EGOT Hudson IlliterateDiddy Take that A... S9 Ep 14Y'all not Capable of Duality?
Ever since the news and shock for some/confirmation for others regarding Diddy/Love accusations regarding Cassie came out people are unable to live in Duality. Victim shaming is at an all time high. Instead of people focusing on men in power to not abuse women they (unfortunately mostly men) would rather focus on how long it took for the woman to get enough strength and grit to speak up on the abuse.......................................Most folks only went off what is revealed on social media and not the 30 pages of alleged abuse done to her........................................................How was your Thanksgiving? I gave a few rules and some tips on how to handle not only Thanksgiving but the coming together of family and friends. People speak up on the pain and hurt of others but instead of rallying behind them make excuses. It's a pattern of excusing the violator to protect the while condemning the violated.......................................Follow me on social media as Toitimeblog across all platforms
