“Send Coach John a message”Super strong start to my day - 2 Co-Pilots riding in with me and one live Co-Pilot to sit down together for breakfast. The two podcasts were from Ed Mylett again (lots of frequent rider miles with Ed this week) and Ben Rogers "Thursday Fire" episode his "The Bottom Line" podcast. The breakfast - with my great friend, Mr. Rich Bowers - was a fabulous way to start the day as I always walk away from our discussions filled with encouragement, some new & inspiring ideas, and always feeling better about myself. Everything I heard this morning was swirling around this formula to me - "Time + Enthusiasm". There are a few parts to each of these 2 success traits and I wanted to share with you today.

It was once again - Ed Mylett riding in with me and he reminded me on how important my thinking is. Our thoughts really do direct everything we do in life, where we go, who we become, our choices & decisions, etc. I was also connecting this to a great round-table discussion I was lucky to be a part of yesterday with our Positivity Project. To keep my habits going in a very good and positive direction. I hope you do the same. We never know when that habit will pay off for changing our lives. I have been telling myself a lot lately that this is what I want my first thought to be (after making sure my alarm is off) & usually it's a bit later that I start thinking about this term. “Send Coach John a message”One of the best things you can do every day - is to go out and serve others. It's not saying yes to everything someone wants you to do. It's not where you do things for them and you neglect taking care of yourself. It's where you add value to others. You help them when you can. It might be a kind word or gesture, or maybe even a simple smile. It's all about adding value & lifting others up. Guess what happens... you actually lift yourself up too as you just made a relationships even stronger! Good things come throughout life - over and over again, when you create strong connections with others. The world needs this more than ever & it can start with one person doing this a little bit here and there.

Negative people seem to be all around & I don't like being around them. I certainly don't want to become one of those people. He mentioned something that really connected with me - Pile up the little wins, instead of piling up more excuses. Listen to this podcast episode HERE. “Send Coach John a message”Took some great notes from a guest speaker in my Leadership class yesterday. Mark Hackel - Macomb County Executive & a good friend for more than 31 years - he reminded me about the importance of finding and connecting with our purpose / passion in life. He also brought up the question about our "dash". On our headstones when we die - there is our date of birth, the date of our death..... and in the middle is one simple character = The Dash. It's always a good idea to try and reflect on that often, so we can make some course adjustments about how we are spending, wasting, or investing our time. Check out the Dash Poem HERE.
