'Citizens Caned!' Chelsea FanCast #344
Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Ross Mooring and Tim Rolls, Chairman of the Chelsea Supporters Trust to discuss the games against Man City and PSG.Chelsea gave City’s youth a spanking with 5 of the best on Sunday to march onward to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, which for most supporters I know is still massive. Sadly the TV, the FA and most of all clubs like Man City seem to disagree. In fielding what was tantamount to a youth side, City basically threw the tie and in my opinion hugely disrespected the tradition of the greatest cup competition in world football. And they call us a plastic club with no history! Anyway, Eden Hazard wasn’t complaining and put in a performance redolent of last season with 3 assists and a superb goal. But is the little Belgian as happy as a Trappist monk after a night on the ale or is it all waffle? On the show tonight we’ll be discussing why the FA Cup needs to be respected and its traditions upheld and has Eden Hazard finally found his mojo?In part... 'Who Ate All The Magpies?' Chelsea FanCast #343
Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Levene and Mark Worrall to discuss the destruction of Newcastle on Saturday and a look ahead to the games against PSG and City.Love was most definitely in the air on Saturday as we enjoyed one of the best days of this doom laden season. For once the excellent pre and post-match was matched on the pitch as Chelsea romped home to an easy 5-1 win against Newcastle. But, were we really that good or were Newcastle quite simply abject? Has the Chelsea juggernaut turned round or will we be talking about our season being over on next week’s show. Maybe we should just enjoy the moment, like the first body tingling kiss of a new and exciting relationship. On the show tonight we’ll be asking was this a good win for Chelsea or were Newcastle just easy pickings and while the front three maybe firing on all cylinders do we still have an issue in midfield? In part two we’ll be asking who should play in the number 10 role for Chelsea – Fabregas; Hazard; Willian or... 'Drawing Conclusions' Chelsea FanCast #342
Stamford Chidge is joined by Dan Silver, Clayton Beerman and Ross Mooring to discuss the somewhat tepid draws with Man Utd and Watford and ask why Guus is being so cautious? Arguably one of the most tepid games in recent years between Chelsea and Man Utd yesterday as two teams clearly way below their title winning levels stumbled to a 1-1 draw. Why is Guus playing it safe rather than going for the win – are we really that devoid of talent and belief? What does he have to lose – absolutely nothing? But when all is said and done, at least we have stopped losing, so perhaps we should be thankful for that. It all adds up to a lot of disgruntlement from the supporters with Chelsea at the moment though, with the torpor on the pitch only matched by the lack of atmosphere off it. I had a great time in the pub before mind… On the show tonight we’ll be saying good luck to King Kurt Happy Zouma who looked to have sustained a season ending injury yesterday and ask how will we cope without him? We’ll also ask... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

'The End is nigh' Chelsea FanCast #341
Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and Clayton Beerman in an attempt to understand the news that John 'Captain, Leader, Legend' Terry's days at Stamford Bridge are numbered and to discuss the Cup win against MK Dons. Tonight we were supposed to be talking about an excellent 5-1 win against MK Dons, an Oscar hat-trick, hell, even a goal by Eden Hazard. But instead, we learnt last night that it seems that John Terry’s illustrious career with the club is coming to an end. We all knew he couldn’t go on forever, but surely the club would have the sense to realise the impact of the leadership characteristics someone like JT might have on the club on or off the pitch at a time of major transition. Is there such a thing as gratitude and loyalty anymore, let alone good management? Whatever the ins and outs – and I’m sure there is fault on both sides – it bears yet more testament to the emotional disconnect and palpable discord that so many supporters increasingly have with the club and... 'Costa Makes the Lattes' Froth!' Chelsea FanCast #340
Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and Dan Levene to discuss a great win against those good old specialists in failure Arsenal and delight in the subsequent meltdown of their nerdy fans. There really is nothing in football quite like beating those specialists in failure Arsenal Football Club, if only for the complete meltdown by their nerdy fans afterwards. They now haven’t even managed to score a goal against Chelsea in over 9 ½ hours of football – 6 matches. Add to that we’ve beaten them twice in our worst season for 30 years. Let’s hope we’ve terminally damaged their title chances – that would be sweet and some compensation for our trauma this season. On the show tonight we’ll be discussing why Arsenal are officially Chelsea’s bitches and why their fans have ruined football. In part two we’ll be praising Costa and Fabregas and asking if they are well and truly back and will this win and performance against Arsenal lead to a charge up the table or was it just that... 'Blue Monday' Chelsea FanCast #339
Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Ross Mooring and Dan Silver to discuss the draws against Everton and West Brom but mostly Captain-Leader-Legend John Terry's last gasp equalizer which provoked wild scenes in the Matthew Harding End! So it is officially Blue Monday which I suppose is great if you’re a Chelsea fan or a New Order fan, but we are supposed to be more depressed on this particular Monday than any other during the year. If you’re a Chelsea fan and a listener to this show on a Monday then that will be a familiar feeling this season and it very much looked like we would be having a very depressing show going 3-2 down to Everton in the 90th minute on Saturday. But, cometh the hour cometh the captain, leader and legend John Terry who with a cheeky back heel from on offside position leveled the score, jumped in to the Matthew Harding end to provoke wild scenes. But the feeling of a great comeback and the team at long last exhibiting some fight does not paper over the cracks that we are... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Stamford Chidge is joined by Clayton, Dan and Rory from the Chelsea Fans Channel on YouTube to discuss Ruben Loftus-Cheek; the 2-0 win against Scunthorpe and the magic of the FA Cup.In part one we discuss Ruben Loftus-Cheek's stunning goal and ask why more of the youth players didn't get a chance to shine. In part two we discuss the magic of the FA Cup and why it means so much to the supporters but do modern footballers care as much as we do?In part three Rory reveals what's behind the Chelsea Fans Channel on YouTube and the secret to its success as well as discussing why he loves Chelsea. In part four we wrap up with the weekly Chelsea Supporters' news. The Chelsea FanCast #338: 'All The Young Dudes' Hosted on Acast. 'No More Heroes Anymore!' Chelsea FanCast #337
Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart, Jonathan Kydd and Dan Levene to discuss the 'cauldron of hate', a 6 pointer win and all of the fall out regarding the dismissal of Jose Mourinho. What a mad old week. Eugene finally wielded the axe and Jose Mourinho – the best manager in Chelsea’s history was sacked with the club 1 point away from the relegation zone. Right decision? Only time will tell. The immediate effect was a far better performance against Sunderland on Saturday and a much needed 3 points, but the game seemed almost secondary to the atmosphere in the ground which whilst not quite as toxic as some had feared certainly left the players and board in no doubt how the supporters felt about their part in Jose Mourinho’s downfall. For me, the blame should probably be apportioned equally, but what leaves me hurting most is the untimely reminder that we, the Chelsea supporters, are irrelevant when it comes to the egos of overpaid under performing players and managers and self-interested short-termist... 'Be Careful What You Wish For' Chelsea FanCast #336
Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Clayton Beerman and Mark 'Gate 17' Worrall to discuss Chelsea's defeat to Bournemouth and the subsequent fall out. Just when we thought we were out, they pull us back in! Having seen the glimmer of recovery for the last few weeks, our faith and optimism crash landed with a defeat to newly promoted Bournemouth, yes Bournemouth. In truth we were mugged off with a typical smash and grab display by the cherries and we should have won comfortably – but just how many times have we said that this season? One only wonders what Roman was thinking as he watched the horror through his fingers. Is this the beginning of the end for Jose? Will it be all change at Stamford Bridge and should we rip it up and start again or should some of us be careful what we wish for… On the show tonight we’ll be asking was the defeat to Bournemouth and the performance as bad as it felt and should we have some perspective plus we nominate the Chelsea FanCast match awards. In part... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

'Road to Recovery!' Chelsea FanCast #335
Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart, Jonathan Kydd and Dan Levene to chew over the draw against Spurs and the win against Maccabi Tel Aviv. Three games unbeaten, three clean sheets, defensive solidity and the team playing like a team again – but is Chelsea really back and what of the rift between Jose and Costa – surely there will only be one winner there. There was no winner in the 0-0 draw against Spurs on Sunday, as Jose used Hazard as a false number 9 with some success, but it says much when most Chelsea supporters were happy with the point. But to be fair whatever happens we do not lose to Spurs! On the show tonight we’ll be asking is Chelsea back, is Hazard as a false number 9 the way to go with a misfiring Costa plus we nominate the Chelsea FanCast match awards. In part two we’ll be asking is there for a future at Chelsea for mean and moody Diego Costa and is Fabregas a square peg in a Chelsea round hole, and do we think Chelsea can make it in to the top 4? Jose seems to think so.... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

'Resurrection Jose!' Chelsea FanCast #334
Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, @goalie59 and Chelsea in America's Beth Wild to discuss the much needed win against Norwich and celebrate the Chelsea FanCast winning the Football Blogging Awards 'Best Football Podcast'!! Whilst Chelsea FanCast winning at the Football Blogging Awards was somewhat a surprise, the 1-0 win against Norwich on Saturday was nothing short of a massive relief. Our first win after 3 league defeats and to say the whistle was greeted with a fervor a kin to winning a trophy would be an understatement. Of course in reality this was no skin of the teeth win as Chelsea were on top for most of the game and should have run out comfortable winners by three goals or more. The team’s inability to finish being the only blot on an otherwise much improved performance in the defence and midfield. Hopefully onwards and upwards. On the show tonight we’ll be asking is Eden Hazard back, is Costa the new Torres and can Chelsea achieve mission impossible. In part two we’ll be... Hosted on Acast. 'We Won't Be Here For Long!' Chelsea FanCast #333
Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and authors of 'Over Land & Sea - Chelsea FC in the Great War' Alex Churchill and Andrew Holmes. That’s now 7 Premier League defeats out of 12 and the decline in our fortunes seems irreversible right now. Can we really be facing a relegation battle? It is certainly relegation form. I for one saw signs of a much better performance against Stoke on Saturday and on another day Chelsea would have won but it just seems that we don’t know how to win football matches at the moment. But I genuinely believe that the rot will stop with Matic, Hazard and others looking more like the players we know and love. On the show tonight we’ll be asking what Chelsea has to do to actually win a football match and what’s wrong with Diego Costa? In part two we’ll be asking is it really the fans superb support for Jose Mourinho that is keeping the Special One in his job, and we’ll be saying thank you and RIP to Bobby Campbell, the former Chelsea manager who... 'The Enemy Within' Chelsea FanCast #332
Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart, Jonathan Kydd and Dan Silver to discuss Chelsea's Halloween Nightmare! Groundhog Day at the Bridge as Chelsea repeated almost exactly the recent capitulation against Southampton, but this time much worse as it was against the scousers. All was looking good with a goal by Ramires after 4 minutes and Chelsea seemingly in control, sitting back and playing on the counter for the first half. But then one loss of concentration, one mistake, Liverpool equalize, Chelsea heads drop and they lose their sixth game out of eleven 3-1. No wonder Jose is lost for words – it’s safe to say we all are too. On the show tonight we’ll be asking why Chelsea’s confidence seems so brittle and is this terminal or can Jose and the players turn it round. In part two we’ll be asking who the ‘enemy within’ is with rumours circulating that one of the players would rather lose playing under Jose than win. In part three we will yet again be asking what on earth is going on – is it... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

'Better the Devil you know!' Chelsea FanCast #331
Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart and Dan 'the artist formerly known as Bruce Chronicle' Levene to discuss Chelsea's 5th Premier League defeat out of 10, have a meltdown and impose a media blackout! A 2-1 defeat; a goal denied by technology; a goal ruled out for a hairline offside; a player sent off; the asst. coach and the manager both sent off; 6 players booked sums up the season pretty well and leads me to the undeniable conclusion that this season is well and truly a load of bollocks. After a decent performance against Kiev in midweek redolent of Chelsea’s title winning season, it was two steps back again in the Premier League with a defeat to the high flying Hammers. But are we suffering from some serious bad luck with decisions or were we fairly and squarely ironed out. Only the Chelsea FanCast has the answers. On the show tonight we’ll be asking were Chelsea just unlucky or was it another performance underlining our current malaise this season. In part two we’ll be discussing... Hosted on Acast. 'Little Acorns' Chelsea FanCast #330
The Chelsea FanCast goes retro tonight with Darren 'Dazza' Mantle & Pablo joining Stamford Chidge and Dan Silver. Finally Chelsea get a win at home and a clean sheet and we have now reached the lofty heights of 11th in the Premier League with 11 points. Keep this up and we should get the 38 points we need to avoid relegation! Joking aside, the win was great but in truth the performance was poor. But hopefully getting back to basics, re-learning how to defend, keeping clean sheets and digging out results will lead to the confidence flooding back and out of that better performances will grow. From little acorns…On the show tonight we’ll be discussing the great feeling to win again tinged with the disappointment at the poor performance and applauding Diego Costa’s part in it – a true leader. In part two we’ll be discussing the continuing good form of Willian and Azpi; the need for Ramires; Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s game of two halves and pondering the next Chelsea battle – this time Jose Vs Eden... 'A Time for Unity' Chelsea FanCast #329
Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Clayton Beerman and Ross Mooring to discuss all things Chelsea. Another defeat. At Home. And against Southampton. It really is beyond all reason and comprehension. None of us could have predicted how far and how quickly this team – Champions of England let us not forget – have fallen. It is mental isn't it? And that may be the point and one which Jose has repeated many times recently. How else does one explain how, under pressure from Southampton, Chelsea crumbled more quickly than a chimney blown up by Fred Dibnah (google it) and how they can play this badly for the last two months. But don’t worry after a few post-match beers with Jonny T, your Uncle Chidge has it all figured out! On the show tonight we’ll be questioning the mental strength of the Chelsea players and while we are at it the mentality of so called Chelsea supporters who left when the third went in or booed at the end and incredulously want Jose Mourinho out. Bed wetters the lot of... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

'One Step Forward, Two Steps Back!' Chelsea FanCast #328
Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Clayton Beerman and former Chelsea player Paul 'King Canners' Canoville to discuss what went wrong and what went right in the game against Newcastle. So Chelsea and Jose’s run of poor form against their bogey team – Newcastle – continues. Jose was pretty forthright after the match claiming that the collective first half effort by the team deserved a rating of minus one, and would have substituted at least 6 players if he could. Thankfully the introduction of Ramires and Willian seemed to wake up Chelsea and in all honesty we could have walked off with all three points. That said we are as bewildered as Jose with Chelsea’s Jeckyll & Hyde performances. On the show tonight we’ll be asking was Jose right to award the team minus one for the first half performance and is the problem all down to a huge Fabregas sized hole in the middle of the pitch? In part two we look at the distinct lack of leadership in the team and organization in defence and demand the... 'Winning at all Costa!' Chelsea FanCast #327
Stamford Chidge is joined by Dan Silver and Richard Weekes from 'We Are The Shed' to discuss the win against Arsenal and their subsequent meltdown! Chelsea’s season finally starts and with a bang. We all knew the perfect antidote to a dismal start to the season would be a game against perennial bottle merchants Arsenal, and so it proved. Public enemy number one, Diego Costa mugged off the whining goons with a display of calculated rage and dark arts and of course the Arse capitulated in a froth of indignity and injustice only surpassed by the copious amounts of froth laden latte they drink. Perfect. Chelsea are back! On the show tonight we’ll be asking is it right to win at all costs and how much did we enjoy the typical meltdown by 'Arsehole Whinger'; the pre-pubescent Arsenal fans and their chums in the media. In part two we applaud the intensity and desire shown by Chelsea, arguably for the first time this season and we look at Oscar’s role in the side and ask is this the beginning of the... 'A Vote of No Confidence?' Chelsea FanCast #326
Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart, Jonathan Kydd and Chelsea journalist Dan Levene to discuss the worst start to a season since 1978!It goes from bad to worse as Chelsea have their worst start to a season since 1978/9 with 3 defeats in 5 games. What is going on? How can a team that won the league a mere three months ago, go so quickly from Champs to chumps? Is it form? Is it a lack of quality? Is it poor preparation? Is there unrest in the dressing room? Has Jose lost his special touch? Or is it all down to a lack of confidence? So many questions, some of which we will attempt to answer on the show tonight. Let’s all hope that form is temporary and class is permanent. The Chelsea Football FanCast #326: 'A Vote of No Confidence?'Vote for us as 'Best Football Podcast' in the Football Blogging Awards: http://www.footballbloggingawards.co.uk/vote-now/Voting for nominations ends midnight 27th September. 'The Feckless Four!' Chelsea FanCast #325
Stamford Chidge is joined by Dan Silver, Clayton Beerman and official Chelsea Historian Rick Glanvill to discuss what Jose Mourinho admits is a 'very bad start' to the campaign after the 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at home on Saturday. It goes from bad to worse, as Chelsea slumped to their second defeat in two games against a well-organized, physical and pacey Crystal Palace. But what is probably more galling is the lack of form of the four most important players from last season. How have the Fantastic Four turned in to the Feckless Four, and more important what can Chelsea and in particular Jose Mourinho do to turn things around. It’s time for the Special One to earn his corn.On the show tonight we’ll be looking back at what Jose himself admitted is a very bad start to the season and asking what is up with Brana, Matic, Fabregas and Hazard aka the Feckless Four, and did Saturday’s performance give us a glimpse in to a future without JT?In part two we’ll be asking just what has gone wrong this... 'We Are Staying Up!' Chelsea FanCast #324
Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan 'The Voice' Kydd and Mark 'Gate 17' Worrall to discuss the West Brom v Chelsea game.Chelsea got their first win of the season under their belt on Sunday to calm the nerves for the relegation battle to come – well that’s what the red-tinted media would have us believe. New boy Pedro replete with his dodgy tache was the star of the show, but it was good to see goal pig Costa back on the scoresheet and pocket dynamo Cesar Azpilicueta scoring his first Premier League goal. Chelsea has become a veritable Spanish Armada. But it was not all plain sailing largely thanks to our all too frequent nemesis, Mark Twattenburg, who harshly sent off JT with all the relish of Dracula about to bite into a voluptuous blonde virgin. But in truth our defence still looks like something out of a Hammer Horror flick and appears to be leakier than the Mary Rose.On the show tonight we’ll be kicking off with the ratings for the WBA game as penned by Mark and nicked by me, and we’ll be... Home Improvement! Chelsea FanCast #323
Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart, ChelTel and Dan for the return of the Chelsea FanCast and the new season.A very soporific return to Stamford Bridge by Chelsea and us if the truth was told and it looks like neither has pre-seasoned well. To be fair, Chelsea were not as bad as many pundits would have you believe, and after Courtois was controversially sent off we can look at the result as one point gained rather than two lost. At the end of the day it is no disaster and thank God for Arsenal the gift that keeps on giving! On the show tonight we’ll be kicking off with the ratings for the Swansea game and, awarding our man of the match. After that we’ll discussing the red card that arguably changed the game; explaining why it was a point gained not two lost; lamenting an endangered species, no not Cecil the Lion, the Chelsea match day pubs. Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart, Jonathan Kydd, Dan Levene, Dan Silver, Clayton Beerman and Andy Silverman to review the season and announce the winners of the Chelsea FanCast Season Awards 2015.It has been a fantastic season – beating Spurs at Wembley to win the Capital One Cup; Diego Costa rampaging through opposition defenders and scoring goals; Fabregas and his magic hat; Hazard and his magic feet; John Terry better than ever and peerless as Captain, Leader, Legend; saying farewell to Didier Drogba a Chelsea legend; the scousers giving us a guard of honour; winning the Premier League at a canter to become Champions again; and last but by no means least, Jose Mourinho – still the Special One! Stamford Chidge is joined by Dan Silver, Jonathan Kydd and Mark Worrall the author of 'Over land and sea'; 'One man went to mow' and 'Chelsea here Chelsea there' to discuss a very celebratory final match of the season. All good things must come to an end, and it was good to see Chelsea round off their title winning season with a 3-1 defeat of Sunderland. Even better to see Remy put in a decent performance and score two goals; hopefully he’ll be with us next season. Sadly there are likely to be several players who won’t be but it was nice to give a fond farewell to Didier Drogba, Petr Cech and quite possibly Jon Obi Mikel. Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart, Jonathan Kydd and Dan Silver to discuss the 3-0 defeat to WBA and on this day remember the greatest day in our football lives - Munich 19-05-12!If ever you are going to lose 3-0 to WBA, then I suppose it is just about ok to do so when you have the Premier League title wrapped under your arm. Or is it? Is there such a thing as a meaningless match? Thanks to either the hilarious or stupid Fabregas red card, the Blues found themselves in a hole they were unable to dig themselves out of. Jose blamed fatigue and a lack of motivation, but shouldn’t the great motivator himself have been able to get them up and at them? Nothing wrong with the motivation of the Chelsea away massive who sung their hearts out all match and made a din that reminded me of our support in the ‘80’s and it was good to see Jose acknowledge their special contribution this season at the end of the match. On the show tonight we’ll be kicking off with the player ratings for the West Brom game... 'On The Beach!' Chelsea FanCast #319
Stamford Chidge is joined by Dan Silver and Charlie Skillen to discuss the draw against Liverpool; the Guard of Honour and the standing ovation for Steven Gerrard...So Sunday was far more about what happened off the pitch than on it. A tale of 2 captains on it as Stevie Me wiped out JT’s opener after 5 minutes in what had the feel of a rather meaningless match. Many of the players look like they need a holiday and who can blame them. Good job that most of the entertainment was off the pitch with the guard of honour; the ovation for Gerrard and his pissy post-match comments about it. Oh and Diego Costa showed he is a man of the people by sitting with the supporters in the East stand. On the show tonight we’ll be kicking off with the ratings for the Liverpool game, awarding our man of the match and talking about Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s debut and how can we replace the irreplaceable JT.After that we’ll be discussing the fact that many Chelsea players look like they need a holiday and whether Jose... "Champions Again!" Chelsea FanCast #318
Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd and Dan Silver all basking in the glory of Chelsea's 4th Premier League title. After all the hate about boring football and negative tactics it seemed wholly appropriate that Chelsea won the title on Sunday with a 1-0 win coming from a spawny penalty which Hazard scored on the rebound, and we ended up with 8 defensive players on the pitch. That’s why we are champions. At the end of the day, all the Chelsea supporters celebrating in the pubs around Stamford Bridge late in to the evening yesterday do not care one jot. Its days like these which you savour forever, not some fancy flick or worldy scored in vain.On the show tonight we’ll be kicking off with the ratings for the Palace game, awarding our man of the match and talking about Hazard’s penaly and the horror of hanging on for the last 20 minutes; a superb performance from the defence yet again, and we’ll be praising Drogba not burying himAfter that we’ll be explaining why Chelsea are deserved... 'Boring Boring Chelsea!' Chelsea FanCast #317
Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart, Dan Silver and Clayton Beerman to discuss the 'boring' 0-0 which clearly upset the Goons and all neutral football fans...Another great defensive display by Chelsea against Arsenal on Sunday to upset the media, neutrals and most of all the bed wetting latte drinkers from N7. Boring boring Chelsea the hemorrhoid stadium sang in their bitter angst, but we know it’s just plain nonsense. We had more shots on target and but for some inept refereeing would have won the game. Job done. Unbeaten in all games against the top four home and away. That’s how you win championships! On the show tonight we’ll be kicking off with the ratings for the Arsenal game, awarding our man of the match and talking about JT and Azpi and another great defensive team performance. Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart, Ross Mooring and Chelsea Supporters' Trust Chairman Tim Rolls to discuss the crucial and very sexy win against Yanited!A great day on Saturday as Chelsea’s 1-0 win against Yanited brought us one match closer to lifting the Premier League title. As for the match, we all knew what to expect and Jose delivered a classic rope-a-dope on Yanited inviting them in for the first half an hour before Eden Hazard delivered what proved to be the knock-out blow on 38 minutes. After that we didn’t really break sweat with a quality defensive team performance. Who wants sexy football when you can have winning football, and if we win the next two matches the title will be ours. Bring it on! Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart and Dan Silver to discuss the dogged last minute win against the embarrassing neighbours QPR.A horrible game but a great result best sums up Chelsea’s win in the Loftus Road toilet bowl. To be fair QPR made it tough for Chelsea with a bobbly pitch and their bobbly headed fans. But all the coin and bottle throwing couldn’t deny Chelsea another three points as they continue the march to the title. As for QPR, all their frothing at the mouth every time a Chelsea player touched the ball can’t hide the fact that they are and always have been a championship club and forever in Chelsea’s shadow. How can you put tickets for the biggest game of your season on General sale, and remember they only have a capacity of 18,000. West London is there’s? 10 blokes from Acton are you fucking sure? Good riddance to bad rubbish. On the show tonight we’ll be kicking off with the ratings for the QPR game, awarding our man of the match and talking about Oscar, Hazard and Courtois.... 'We've Got The Remy-dy!' Chelsea FanCast #314
Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Chelsea journalist Dan Levene and Chelsea FanCast writer Clayton Beerman to discuss the win against Stoke, Costa's hamstring, Charlie Adams' goal, Matthew Harding's Blue & White Army and Hazard's brilliance.Another dogged win against Stoke which brings Chelsea 3 points nearer the title. 5 more wins and a draw will win it, but it’s clearly going to be hard going and nothing can be taken for granted. Of course it might be so much easier if Chelsea could finish the plethora of chances they create. Will Costa’s hamstring injury make this even harder in the next 8 matches or do we have the Remy-dy? Only time will tell.On the show tonight we’ll be kicking off with the ratings for the Stoke game, awarding our man of the match and talking about Costa, Hazard and Courtois. After all that we’ll be asking where has Oscar gone; applauding Matthew Harding’s Blue and White army; are we worried about Arsenal and ponder where and if Cech might be going in the summer.... "To Hull and Back!" Chelsea FanCast #313
Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart and Dan Silver to discuss the nervy win against Hull and ask why do Chelsea have to make hard work of it; is it time for Zouma to start ahead of Cahill and should Remy get more game time. We also debunk the myth that it's Chelsea's fault for English club's failure in Europe!Blimey, Chelsea don’t make it easy on us do they. Two superb goals put us 2-0 against Hull inside 10 minutes only for some Keystone Cops defending to let Hull back in to make it 2-2. On another day we might not have got away with it but thankfully the boys in blue showed some character and Remy the forgotten man came on and scored the winner with his first touch to bring home all three points. We now need 19 points from our last 9 games and as Eden Hazard said it will be like 9 cup finals. Something tells me that it won’t be good for the old ticker, but that’s Chelsea isn’t it!On the show tonight we kick off with the player ratings for the Hull game and then ask is it time for Zouma to take... Hysteria! Chelsea FanCast #312
Stamford Chidge returns after a break together with Dr Mart and Dan Silver for the resurrection of the 'old skool' Chelsea FanCast podcast. Chelsea FanCast TV is dead - Long live the Chelsea FanCast Podcast!!A funny old week at Chelsea – we go out rather limply on to 10 men on away goals to PSG in the Champions League and we fail to take advantage of another City slip up by only managing a draw at home to Southampton. Yes, it could have been much better, but why the hysteria? We were only a few minutes away from getting to the Champions League quarter finals and we have now extended our lead at the top of the table to 6 points with a game in hand. I think a healthy dose of Chidge perspective is needed on the show tonight, and by the way it is very good to be back I hope you missed me as much as I missed you!As some of you may know, we will no longer be doing the Chelsea FanCast as a TV show at Sports Tonight Live which means we are returning to our roots as a podcast, coming at you live and direct... "30-33-43-69" The Chelsea FanCast #311
Jonathan Kydd is joined by Dr Mart, Darren Mantle and FFP expert Jake Cohen to discuss the appalling refereeing by Martin Atkinson which cost us all three points in the draw against Burnley; the rearguard draw against PSG; the Paris Metro racism incident and a discussion about what FFP entails for Chelsea.Former Referee's Chief Keith Hackett described Martin Atkinson's performance as arguably one of the worst in Premier League history, and who are we to argue. Two penalty claims; no punishment for a nasty foul on Brana Ivanovic and worse no punishment for a potentially career ending challenge on Nemanja Matic, who got sent off in reward for understandably reacting. Whilst Chelsea were not at the best, and should have put the game to bed long before, there's no doubt that Atkinson cost us all three points. Was the 1-1 draw with PSG a good result and a classic Jose Mourinho European away leg? And just how thankful should we be for the world class performance from Thibeaut Courtois. And how on earth... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Willian It Was Really One Nothing! Chelsea FanCast #310
Jonathan Kydd is joined by Mail Online's Charlie Skillen and season ticket holders Dr Mart, Dan Silver and Andy Silverman to discuss the last gasp win against Everton which keeps the Blues 7 points clear of Man City and look forward to tonight’s Champions League match against PSG in Paris.A tense and often frustrating night at the Bridge last Wednesday ended up with the right result thanks to Willian’s late winner and kept Chelsea’s lead over Man City to a healthy 7 points. Just how big was this win in the context of the title race and how did Juan Cuadrado do on his home debut? The boys look at the media meltdown following the melee between the Everton and Chelsea players and ask was Brana Ivanovic unfairly accused of a head butt and bite on James McCarthy – something for which the FA later exonerated him from? Attention is then turned to the ‘Fannies’ – the match awards for Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Guinness and Celery moments for the Everton game. The PSG match tonight is previewed... 'Brana To The Rescue!' Chelsea FanCast #309
Jonathan Kydd is joined by Mail On-Line journalist and Chelsea supporter Charlie Skillen and season ticket holders Dan Silver, Andy Silverman and The Gaffer to discuss Chelsea's win against Aston Villa. Was the performance really that poor, and surely points are more important than performance at this stage of the season? Have the referees got it in for Chelsea and is it part of a wider campaign against the team? Saturdays win against Villa threw up one or two good performances from the team and some lovely moments of skill. The supporters, all 3,000 of them played a blinder too and belted out a decent array of chants. The boys discuss these and award their choice for Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Guinness Moment and Celery Moment.Often underrated but very much loved by Chelsea supporters, Brana Ivanovic rescued Chelsea with a superb goal. After the match Jose Mourinho heaped on the praise for our Lion hearted Serbian right back. The boys do likewise. And to wrap up, the boys discuss... Hosted on Acast. "If Kurt's Happy, We're Happy!" Chelsea FanCast #308
Stamford Chidge is joined by Chelsea journalist Dan Levene and Season Ticket holders Dan Silver & Andy Silverman.Blimey, what a week – two full on proper games which mean we are at Wembley again and still have a 5 point gap between us and City. In the middle of all that our mate Costa gets a three game ban for apparently treading on a random Liverpool player and we got to say a proper thank you and farewell to a proper Chelsea legend. But most pleasing of all is the backs to the wall bloody minded performance against City having played 120 mins only a few days before, and the huge performances in both games by one Kurt Happy Zouma – the young Frenchman looks a real prospect. On the show tonight we’ll be kicking off with the ratings for the Man City game; awarding our man of the match and then asking was it 2 points dropped or 1 point gained; applauding the reception for Frank Lampard and asking who was the spanner with the banner? After all that we’ll looking back at last week’s second leg... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

'Shocking!' Chelsea FanCast #307
Stamford Chidge, Sophie Rose, Charlie Skillen & Dr Mart discuss the FA Cup defeat against Bradford and ask what went wrong? Was the 'B' team simply not up to it or were we complacent. Does this defeat ask serious questions about the depth of the squad, its quality and Jose's ability to rotate it?We also look forward to the Capital One Cup semi-final second leg against Liverpool and ask did Chelsea get away with it last week? How do we see the game going tomorrow and what is Jose Mourinho up to with more veiled criticism of the Chelsea support last week.To wrap up Sophie opens the Chelsea FanCast email inbox and answers your questions in Sophie's Choice. The Chelsea Football FanCast: Shocking! 'Lambs To The Slaughter!' Chelsea FanCast #306
Stamford Chidge, Sophie Rose, Jonathan Kydd & Charlie Skillen discuss the fabulous 5-0 win against Swansea and look forward to the Capital One Cup semi-final v Liverpool. Chelsea upped their game against Swansea on Saturday with a 5-0 cull of the swans, and in the process played some superb football. Their build up play and passing was out of this world, and they were even peppering the Swansea goal with shots from outside the penalty area. 1-0 up in 49 seconds is pretty good, but 4-0 up inside 35 minutes is very special, or as Jose said “perfect”. But was this the perfect performance and are we seeing the best ever football played by a Chelsea side?On the show tonight we’ll be kicking off with the ratings for the Swansea game and then asking is it all about confidence? Was it the perfect performance or were Chelsea somewhat profligate and why was Jose so grumpy? Later on we’ll be awarding the Fannies for the Swansea game – Man of the Match, Chant of the Match, Celery and Guinness moments.... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

'The Rhythm Method!' Chelsea FanCast #305
Stamford Chidge, Sophie Rose, Chelsea journalist Dan Levene and Chelsea season ticket holder Dan Silver discuss Chelsea's win against Newcastle. Chelsea got back to winning ways and the title challenge got back on track with a 2-0 win against Newcastle on Saturday, but they made hard work of it. Were Cahill and Courtois rested or dropped for Cech and Zouma? A fitful and poor first half made way for a better second half where the team cajoled by Jose Mourinho finally found their rhythm. But are Chelsea getting away with it at the moment? How do they keep their rhythm in the weeks ahead? One hopes that Oscar and Costa have both found their form and rhythm too. All will be revealed on the Chelsea FanCast tonight! The team discuss the Chelsea v Newcastle game including the player ratings, and the nominations for this week's Match Awards - the Fannies - for Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Guinness & Celery Moments before looking at this week's Chelsea news including the FA charging Jose Mourinho... New Year Blues! Chelsea FanCast #304
Stamford Chidge & Sophie Rose are joined by Jonathan Kydd, Charlie Skillen, Dan Silver & Jason Coveyduck to discuss Chelsea v Watford in the Cup and the marathon that was the Christmas fixtures! So the Christmas marathon finally came to an end yesterday as Chelsea washed away their New Year’s Day blues with a win against Watford in the FA Cup. After a poor first half, Jose brought on the cavalry in the form of Willian and Diego Costa and Chelsea ended up winning comfortably. More noteworthy though was the absence of Jose’s untouchables. Has the Special One finally realized that some of our players clearly needed a rest? Better late than never I suppose. Let’s hope he learns to trust the likes of Zouma and Remy for the second half of the season! On the show tonight we’ll be kicking off with Ross’ player ratings for the Watford game, before we have a good old natter about the game itself asking what's up with Andre Schurrle and are Remy and Zouma the answer? No fannies this week, but instead we’ll... Ducking & Diving! Chelsea FanCast #303
Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd and journalists Charlie Skillen and Dan Levene to discuss the wins against Hull and Sporting Lisbon, oh and apparently Chelsea are a team of divers!Chelsea got back to winning ways this week with a win in their final Champions League group game against Sporting Lisbon. Jose had promised us youth in the team, but all we got was Rubin Loftus-Cheek for an 8 minute cameo at the end when Jose believed the game to be safe. Will Jose blood the promising youth players or is he too risk averse. And in the light of 2 submissions and a fall or two bookings and a let off for diving in the 2-0 win against Hull, was Jose unwise to declare that Chelsea players don’t dive a few months ago. Should we really care as to whether our players dive or not - after all winning is everything, isn’t it? On the show tonight: Ross’ Ratings for Hull and Sporting Lisbon games. We’ll be having a chat about the Hull and Sporting Lisbon games and we’ll be awarding the Fannies for the Hull... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

"Taking The Papiss!" Chelsea FanCast #302
Stamford Chidge and Sophie Rose are joined by Jonathan Kydd, Charlie Skillen and Beth Wild to discuss the Newcastle and Spurs games.A mixed week. On Wednesday we battered our bitter North London rivals to maintain our unbeaten home record against them which goes back to 1990. On Saturday we faced a different type of bogeymen – Newcastle – a team that Mourinho has yet to beat in the league. Arch bogeyman, Papiss Cisse scored twice against Chelsea again, and although we threw the kitchen sink at them in the last 15 minutes, we lost for the first time since May – 24 games ago. Well at least all the invincibles nonsense can be put to bed and we can get on with winning points and the title going forward. On the show tonight we have Ross’ Ratings for Newcastle & Spurs games and we’ll be having a chat about the Newcastle & Spurs games and awarding the Fannies for Man of the Match, Chant of the Match, Celery and Guinness moments. All that plus Chelsea Chadder stats and a few of your emails. Post European Blues! Chelsea FanCast #301
Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart, Jonathan Kydd, Charlie Skillen, Sophie Rose and the Benches to discuss the stunning win against Schalke and the frustrating draw against Sunderland, and all things Chelsea.Chelsea came up against a red & white brick wall against Sunderland on Saturday and a frustrating evening was had by all, especially street fighting man Diego Costa who tried very hard to get sent off and is now suspended for the Spurs match on Wednesday. Were the players tired after 3 games in a week? Were they off their game by 10% or did Sunderland play out of their skins and defend for their lives? Can we expect more of the same from teams now scared of letting Chelsea run away with it? At the end of the day this is a game we might have lost last season and as we stand we are still unbeaten and top of the league and we’ve got Spurs on Wednesday! On the show tonight:We've got Ross’ Ratings for Sunderland and Schalke games and we’ll be having a chat about the Sunderland and Schalke games...
