Defeat could be a blessing in disguise, proving that Chelsea are not the finished article.Looking ahead to next season, Kerry believes we need at least 2 world class additions to the squad - a striker and a creative midfielder - to mount a challenge on the Champions' League and the Premier League. Kerry believes that Conte's ability to keep the squad happy has been fundamental to our success this season and hopes that he'll be able to add to the squad to challenge on all fronts again next season.Roman Abramovich is singled out for bringing so much success to the club since his arrival in 2003, whilst Kerry also tips his hat to Ken Bates who laid the foundations for the Roman era.Whilst the younger players had a chance to shine against Watford, it was JT who stole the headlines and Kerry believes that Sunday will be an emotional affair with the supporters bidding a fond farewell to our 'Captain, Leader, Legend'.... "Eddie Mac, Eddie Mac"

We were delighted to interview Mark Meehan and Neil Smith recently, two of the authors of the eagerly awaited book "Eddie Mac, Eddie Mac" covering the seasons when Chelsea were managed by Eddie McCreadie. Even better, we got to interview them in a pub over a few beers, so this podcast of that interview has the feel of some of our early podcasts in Putney Station!Mark and Neil's immense passion for Chelsea and unrivaled knowledge and memories of being part of Eddie McCreadie's Blue & White Army shines through in a highly entertaining interview. The book will be an absolute cracker and a must have addition to every Chelsea supporters book collection. But, to set the scene...Chelsea’s steady, multi-trophy-winning ascent to football’s summit has been well documented. In the modern Blues era, relegation is something that happens to other clubs, while a defeat to bitter London rivals Tottenham Hotspur is as rare an occurrence as a total eclipse of the sun. The Kerry Dixon Show - FA Cup semi-final & John Terry Tribute

Eden Hazard needs to step up if he wants to join the likes of Messi and Ronaldo as one of the best in the world. The Kerry Dixon Show - Utd v Chelsea

Stamford Chidge is joined by Chelsea Legend Kerry Dixon to look back at the win against Bournemouth and look forward to the match against Man Utd this weekend.Another great team performance under pressure to keep Chelsea top of the league with the win against Bournemouth. Moses and Alonso proving yet again that they bring balance to the team and Eden Hazard proving that the big players step up when it counts but did Costa get unfair criticism for a somewhat poor performance?Looking ahead to the Utd game Kerry thinks it might be a tight affair - Utd specialise in draws and Mourinho won't want to lose to Chelsea for the third time this season. He may well be cautious given their Europa League commitments.Ultimately a draw might not be a disaster for Chelsea with a comfortable lead at the top of the table and surely Spurs will not win all of their remaining games which they must do to have a sniff of the title. The Kerry Dixon Show - Chelsea v City

Stamford Chidge is joined by Chelsea Legend Kerry Dixon to report back on a massive win against Man City which keeps us in pole position in the title race. Eden Hazard steps up yet again in a big game and bags two goals in the process as Conte shepherded Chelsea to a fine win against a dangerous Man City side.Antonio Conte showed his metal and outwitted the 'best' manager in the world Pep Guardiola by bolstering Chelsea's midfield in the second half with a tactical switch. We closed the midfield gaps, sat deeper and offered a master class in discipline, how to defend a lead and close a game out - not pretty and not for the feint hearted but very effective and the best attacking team in the league had no answer to it.Thanks to a superb all round team performance where everyone turned up and did their bit we now need 18 points from 8 games to win the title, starting with Saturday's match against Bournemouth.Costa has not scored for three games but has never gone four Premier League games without... Stamford Chidge is joined by Chelsea Legend Kerry Dixon to discuss the recent rumours about Eden Hazard, Sanchez and Lukaku, as well as looking ahead to the Premier League fixtures against Crystal Palace and Manchester City.Chidge and Kerry ponder whether there is any truth in the rumours about Hazard, Sanchez and Lukaku. Chelsea don't need to sell Hazard and he will be hard to replace whilst Kerry believes that Lukaku is now good enough and ready to lead the line at Chelsea and Sanchez would be a good acquisition if we could fit him in to our line up. Looking at the Palace game Kerry believes that while Sam Allardyce has clearly made a difference to Palace, Chelsea are still a good two goals better than them at home. Chidge believes that an early goal for Chelsea will help us to secure the points. If Chelsea beat City on Wednesday it will all but end their title challenge. They will come to attack which might play in to Chelsea's hands. But, they may just cancel each other out. There could be goals... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

'The Harder They Come!' Chelsea FanCast #382

Stamford Chidge, Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and Football.London's Chelsea FC correspondent Oliver Harbord discuss a hard fought battle and massive 3 points for Chelsea against Stoke on Saturday. On the show tonight we argue that the harder they come, the harder they fall as Chelsea stand up to Stoke’s fouling by rota to come away with a hard earned 3 points at Stoke. But did the referee manage it or bottle it?In part two we discuss how Costa walked the line in a performance rightly praised by his manager. We ponder the squad depth as Chelsea pull off a win without talisman Hazard and we give due credit to the unfairly lambasted Chelsea skipper – One Gary Cahill. Is the criticism of our oak hearted vice-captain unfair? In part three, we’ve got emails from Peter Briant and Alan Gavurin for you plus news on the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust Jack Whitley crowdfunding campaign. In part four we have news about books by the Girl Who Likes Balls (aka Alex Churchill) and Football Factory author John King; the sad... The Kerry Dixon Show - Stoke v Chelsea

Stamford Chidge joins Chelsea Legend Kerry Dixon to look back at the victory against Man Utd in the FA Cup and look ahead to Stoke away this Saturday.A great atmosphere and perhaps a more tense affair than it might have been against Utd in the FA Cup quarter-final last Monday. Kerry applauds yet another stunning performance by Kante and even Michael Oliver gets some praise for stopping Utd kicking Hazard out of the game. We now look forward to Spus in the semi-final although Kerry admits that drawing Arsenal or City might have been an easier proposition. With Lukaku appearing to want out of Everton, would Kerry like to see him back at Chelsea and what would this mean for Diego Costa? Also will Antonio Conte be backed in the transfer market this summer as we prepare to launch a challenge for more European silverware?Turning to Stoke, both Chidge and Kerry recognise that this is a tricky and potentially tough fixture for Chelsea - the players will need to be 'on-it' from the first whistle. If we win... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Did Jose Mourinho deserve the abuse he got last night; was it really as widespread as the press made out and any way, isn’t it time for everyone to just move on?In part two we discuss Utd’s clear tactic to kick Hazard out of the game thankfully coming unstuck; poor finishing giving us too much stress; drool at Kante’s imperious performance again and look forward to the semi-final against Spurs at our second home not there’s.In part three, we’ve got a monster selection of emails from you plus news on the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust Jack Whitley crowdfunding campaign. In part four we have news about books by the Girl Who Likes Balls (aka Alex Churchill) and Football Factory author John King; the sad plight of a young autistic lad facing a football banning order who needs our support and a special... Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Clayton Beerman and the 'Girl Who Likes Balls' - Alex Churchill to discuss last night's win against West Ham and to look forward to the FA Cup Quarter-Final against Man Utd next Monday. On the show tonight we discuss how combating the aerial threat led to another big 3 points with the pressure on.In part two we ask have rumours of Eden Hazard’s demise been exaggerated and why on earth are people giving Costa – who has now scored 17 premier league goals – stick? Something about unsuccessful touches apparently – probably more to do with keyboard warriors’ fumbling’s with women. In part three, we move the emails up a part because we have so many and they are absolutely fantastic this week. We’ve got emails from Paul Hay on chants; Roy Stennings on his incredible history supporting Chelsea; Ross Parke’s homage to the back three and Harrison Leggo pleading with the support to sing something other than Antonioooo. In part four we have a look ahead to next Monday’s... The Kerry Dixon Show - West Ham v Chelsea

Stamford Chidge and Chelsea Legend Kerry Dixon look back at Chelsea's win against Swansea last Saturday and look ahead to Monday night's London derby against West Ham.Cesc Fabregas takes the plaudits this week but Kerry is equally impressed with the form of Pedro and that Conte is forging his version of Chelsea in to a formidable team, all playing for each other and the manager.Unlike the bizarre rumours suggesting that Conte may leave for Inter Milan in the summer, Chidge and Kerry firmly believe that the attraction of managing Chelsea in the Champions' League and building a great Chelsea team over the next few years will be too strong.Looking ahead to West Ham on Monday, Kerry thinks that as with all local derbies it will be a tough match for Chelsea. Whilst Andy Carroll presents an aerial threat and could exploit an apparent weakness Chelsea has in defending headers, Cahill and Luiz need to step up to the challenge and deal with it. Either way, Kerry is confident that if Conte has the team 100%... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Return of the Mak! Chelsea FanCast #379

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Tony Glover and Joe Tweeds to look back at another big three points for Chelsea as the tick off the wins that will hopefully take them to the title! On the show tonight we ask with the timely return of cult hero Makalele on Saturday how fitting it is that his obvious successor, N’Golo Kante played such a blinder. But is Kante better than Makalele or are they just different? In part two we celebrate another important win; the return of Fabregas; applaud Costa and Pedro and give props to some unsung Chelsea heroes. In part three, we analyse the run in and look at potential banana skins or difficult games as we work out where we will find the 29 points Antonio Conte believes we need to win the title. The Kerry Dixon Show - Chelsea v Swansea

Stamford Chidge & Kerry Dixon look back at Chelsea's FA Cup win against Wolves and look forward to the quarter-final tie against Man Utd. We also preview the match against Swansea coming up on Saturday.Kerry is very happy to see Costa on the score sheet again and feels that it will bode well for the title run in over the next 13 games. Conversely with Eden Hazard suffering from a dip in form, Kerry believes that he has too much quality to dweel there too long. Looking ahead to the FA Cup quarter-final against Man Utd, whilst not the ideal draw, being at home and with the tie sandwiched between a home and away Europa League Cup tie for Utd, should give Chelsea a small advantage and makes us favourites.Whilst Swansea will be no push overs with former Chelsea assistant manager Paul Clement having dramatically turned their recent form around, Kerry expects Chelsea to turn them over by a good 2-3 goals.Of course, if we do then we'll continue to keep the pressure on our rivals, three of whom are not... In part two we rename Pedro, ‘Pedro Osgood’ as the young Eli Wallach look-a-like kept up his record of scoring in every round in the Cup. Can he repeat the great Peter Osgood’s feat? And can Chelsea do the double…again? In part three, we discuss the next round where we host Man Utd and a certain former Manager. The Kerry Dixon Show - Wolves v Chelsea

Kerry Dixon looks back at the match against Burnley last weekend and previews Saturday's FA Cup 5th round tie against old foes Wolves.Kerry discusses the merits of a hard fought draw against Burnley; questions how long Luiz can keep playing through injury and tells us why we shouldn't panic about Diego Costa's recent goal 'drought'.Looking ahead to the FA Cup tie against Wolves, Kerry predicts that this will be a proper old fashioned tie with the home side and their fans well up for it. Kerry believes that Conte will not take Wolves lightly and whichever side he picks should be strong enough to see Chelsea through to the next round. Hopefully another trip to Wembley beckons. Grim Oop North! Chelsea FanCast #377

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Clayton Beerman and Mark Worrall to look back at yesterdays trip oop North to Ice Station Zebra where Chelsea tuffed out a 1-1 draw against Burnley at Turf Moor. We also look ahead to next weekend's FA Cup 5th round tie against Wolves which will evoke memories of fixtures past against the boys from the black country. On the show tonight we explain why its most definitely grim oop north when playing football in Burnley but a draw was not quite the disaster that many thought it was. In part two we indulge in the great Matic v Fabregas debate. Is it fair to point the finger at one Matic? Should Fabregas get a chance to wave his magic hat? How do we accommodate one or both of them or should we leave it all to someone who actually knows his onions – Signor Antonio Conte? In part three, we look ahead to the FA Cup 5th round match against the Wolves on Saturday. The Kerry Dixon Show - Burnley v Chelsea

Kerry Dixon gives us his thoughts on last week's decisive victory against Arsenal plus a look ahead to the game against Burnley this Sunday.Chidge and Kerry applaud a great Eden Hazard performance and ask was it better than Maradona's goal against England in 1986 (a goal Kerry witnessed first hand in the Azteca stadium!). We also praise the phenomenal performances of Kante of late and discuss whether Chelsea have knocked Arsenal out of the title race.Picking up on the Chelsea news this week, we discuss whether Courtois may leave Chelsea in the summer and would Lukaku be a suitable replacement for Costa if he takes the slow boat to China?Looking ahead to Burnley at the weekend Kerry warns against complacency especially against a tough physical Burnley side cast in the image of their husky voiced manager Sean Dyche. But what will Kerry predict as the scoreline, and will Chidge get his prediction spot on like he did against Arsenal? All this plus a treat for Kerry with a blast from a past Arsenal... The Kerry Dixon Show - Chelsea v Arsenal

Stamford Chidge is joined by Chelsea Legend, Kerry Dixon to discuss the draw in midweek against Liverpool and look ahead to this Saturday's crucial match against Arsenal.Chidge & Kerry talk about the draw against Liverpool and feel that it was definitely a case of a point gained rather than two dropped, especially thanks to our nearest rivals all dropping points. While for Chidge, Kante and Luiz were the stand out players, Kerry applauded the team effort and was particularly impressed with Luiz's free-kick.Turning to Arsenal this weekend, Kerry gives us his views on Arsene Wenger and whether it will make any difference with him not being on the bench; will Arsenal be keen to bounce back after their defeat against Watford or will Chelsea be more keen to put to rights their defeat at the Emirates Stadium earlier in the season. With concerns raised about the current fitness of David Luiz and Eden Hazard, Kerry believes that it might be affecting Hazard more, and if so its better to have players 100% fit...
