Episode 74 - Mark Zarate
He's a teacher, personal trainer, cancer survivor, podcast host, just got engaged 9 days ago and he likes cookies as much as me. He's my new American home slice. Ironically he drinks Tim Hortons coffee more than I do. If you've made it this far, you'll enjoy this one a lot. We crushed two episodes today. I'll be appearing on his podcast, "Cool, Calm, & Chaotic" on Wednesday. It will be a good combo to listen to both perspectives. Stay tuned! Until then, I would like to introduce you to Mark Zarate. Episode 73 - Kevin "Coach" Zimmerman
Coach as he is most often referred to, has a lot of wisdom to share. That goes without saying. The life experience he has from his various roles working with young offenders as well as his wealth of experience working with athletes has made him into the individual he is today. We talked about the joy that he gets from being a grandparent, a husband, and from seeing people get that light bulb moment as they first get comfortable in the gym. We talked about life's toughest challenges and dark moments and how fitness helps with them. We also talked about the weirdest pre competition ritual he's ever witnessed and I asked him what his favourite things were about dogs and what he admires most about his wife. I hope you enjoy this one, thank you for your ongoing support, please share with a friend and help me by leaving a rating on Apple Podcasts. Episode 70 - Jordan Syatt
Jordan Syatt is a 5x World Record Powerlifter, Gary Vaynerchuk's personal trainer, strength and nutrition coach, enjoys Harry Potter, Coffee, and Big Macs. Episode 67 - TJ Mims
TJ Mims is from San Jose, California but it was just a week ago that he was staying here in an Air BnB in Edmonton for the Evolve Strength Symposium. I met him at the Kansas City Fitness Summit. TJ has had his fair share of obstacles he's found a wife that has been able to help him conquer them. We talked a fair bit about mental health in this episode, and promoted the idea that no matter who you are, what you do, where you've been or what you've done, seeing a therapist is normal. You can just go see one just to see one. If anyone gives you a hard time for it, call us up. We talked about his favourite video games, his favourite lift and how it became his kryptonite, we talked about some of his role models, his childhood, and his experiences working in the restaurant/bar industry. It was a good conversation and I encourage you to listen to some of the other episodes as well. Let me know what you think, I'd love to hear from you. Please help in promoting this episode and any other episode you enjoy by sharing with your friends on social media. Episode 66 - Luke Perry
Luke Perry has quite a story. He basically took the word vulnerability and owned it in a big way today. We talked about just about everything that we had time to talk about and went down a few rabbit holes. Essentially, Luke loves his cat. They say cats have 9 lives. It seems as though Luke also has 9 lives, with hopefully at least 3 left still. He's a guy with lifetimes of tough life experience and yet he's a month younger than me. So it really sinks in how we could be in totally different situations and yet here we both are doing the same job in our own unique ways just trying to live our best lives the only ways we know how. We recorded this episode on 2 hours notice a week after a major life altering accident happened as well as shortly after some major health changes. It's all about perspective. What do we all have to be grateful for. If you struggle with ADHD you'll want to listen to this one. If you grew up in foster care you will want to listen to this one. If you're really young and you're about to be a parent, you're going to want to listen to this one. If you've ever had kidney failure, dialisis, or if that's where life is taking you, you'll want to listen to this one. If you're a personal trainer and you shy away from connecting with your peers because of the competitive industry, you'll want to listen to this one. That should be enough reasons. Thank you for listening to this one. Get full access to Insight by Chris Liddle at chrisliddle.substack.com/subscribe

Episode 65 - Sarah Lindquist
I hope nobody ever feels confident that they can pick who the next guest will be. I like to be unpredictable. It instills the value of community and connection both locally and far away. Being invested in someone else for an hour at a time can do wonders for personal growth.Sarah Lindquist is someone who is doing really well for herself as far as a fulfilling life goes. She's worked very hard to get where she is, been up to a lot of really cool and exciting things, but despite all of this she has had no shortage of obstacles. Her dog, Tukka is one of the most well-behaved large dogs I have ever met. I got to meet him at our Charity Boot camp that Sarah helped me run earlier this year at Langdale Park in the Windermere area in Edmonton, AB. Episode 63 - Linden Wilcock
For the first time ever, someone had to go to the bathroom during the episode. I'm not going to tell you who it was, but in today's episode I talked with Linden about as many things as we could pack into 40 or so minutes. It's always good to leave the listener wanting more. I think we did just that. Like "what kind of groceries to you like to buy?" "what NHL team do you cheer for?" "dogs or cats?" and the classic, "pizza or donairs?"I hope you enjoy this one, pass it along, and I just want to say thank you for supporting. 63 Episodes of The Lifestyle Chase in 12 months. Episode 62 - Keltie O'Connor
In this episode I bring on Keltie O'Connor who is actually from Edmonton but has been working her ass off doing what she's passionate about in Toronto. I jumped right into this one and called her both "famous" and an "influencer" within the first 60 seconds. She really appreciated that hehehe. All jokes aside, we talked about a lot of things such as the work ethic it takes to make anything happen in life, setting boundaries to protect your energy as well as your privacy, and being resilient against the haters. We talk about gut feelings, dogs, and we dive into something that's pretty momentous that's been something Keltie has been dreaming of for a long time. It's officially happening the day after this podcast is released so you'll have to go check it out. Thank you as always for supporting The Lifestyle Chase and all the guests that come on the show. I think you'll want to listen to this one. Louis has really established himself as a fitness professional and leads his life in such a way that it is not about what we've been through, but more about what we'll get through. Episode 59 - Caitlin Perry
Caitlin Perry and I actually recorded this episode last week. We visited over waffles and everything. Then there were dropouts in the audio over some pretty meaningful context that we spoke about. So we ended up having to reschedule and have a completely different conversation. I also got pancakes. A highlight is I am slowly getting to spend time with each of my friend's dogs. I hope you enjoy this episode as Caitlin is a truly good human being. Please share this with someone you think might also enjoy our conversation. Thanks for all the support! Episode 55 - Chan Rin
Chan Rin has known me for about 3 years and interviewed me when I came onboard with the YEG Fitness team. He rode in my first indoor cycle class that I taught as well as one of the last ones. He's featured me in some of his projects and always been a quick text away if I ever felt like I needed to stress about small business and working to make things work. He's seen my entire career unfold. He's a great guy to have in your corner. If I need someone to judge character, Chan comes to mind. He is a no bullshit kind of guy. He's done amazing things for the Edmonton photography industry, one of my best friends goes to his Chan's UrbanYeg meetups and honestly to see how people with a passion can learn to thrive in their craft is pretty special. Episode 54 - Nick Sorrell
Nick Sorrell is no stranger to podcasts. However, my podcast is not like other podcasts he's been on.We talked about the tough moments, the moments where he's felt joy, the 16 year old version of himself, we talked about addictions, eating disorders, heart break, moments of complacency, moments of uncertainty. We also talked about NF a little bit, because duhh. We chatted about our favourite things about Dean Guedo in a sneaky effort to lure him into listening, and we talked about how generosity can be selfish sometimes, and that is okay. Episode 52 - Emily Heidinger
Doing things the hard way. This is something that Emily and I have each had to do a lot in our lives. We go off on a lot of tangents on this one, we talk about Emily's high school experience, her passion and the trials and tribulations of swimming. If you think this episode is long, you should consider the fact that we didn't even got onto the topics of the mountains or music festivals and that is truly the magical thing about making time and putting people first. This episode comes with 2 challenges that I set out for anyone who listens. At the beginning I ask that anyone who listens, try to pick out 3 things that resonated with you or that you related to. Send them to me either by email [email protected] or tag me on social media (@christianliddle, @thelifestylechase). It's so valuable to be able to get something out of everyone you meet or listen to. We put so much value on the books we can read, but when is the last time we stopped to see what someone right in front of us has to offer. This is why businesses thrive off community. Social media feeds of that feeling of community. Don't lose sight of the fact that community is staring you right in the face. Excellent segway to challenge number two... At the end of the episode I challenge you to make time for someone you don't see regularly. A family member, a friend, someone who seems interesting or maybe even someone you look up to. Make it in person if possible, but if it needs to be a video chat, do that too. If you feel adventurous, tell me about that too. I like to think all of this preaching of "people first" is picking up some momentum. The Lifestyle Chase is available on all major podcast platforms, easily searchable on google. There are well over 50 amazing people to learn about and it is truly something I value greatly. I can never thank my listeners enough for the support, and I hope you enjoy this one. Episode 51 - Kyle Dobbs
Kyle Dobbs joined me on the podcast from St. Louis, Missouri. He has over a decade of quality experience in the fitness industry having worked in many different capacities, settings and roles. He is one of the most highly respected mentors in the industry and has a very strong set of values which is what makes him such a perfect guest for a podcast like this. We talk about the impact of his time at Costa Rica with the likes of Dr. Ben House and Dr. Pat Davidson, and the many other remarkable people you can meet in a setting like that. We talk about his high school experience, challenges in post secondary, stressful moments in his career, the experiences of fatherhood, growing closer to your significant other and how Lego brings kids to flow state. Honestly, I regret not going further into that but that could have gone on for hours. We look at the word failure and how much of a buzz word it has become, and we talk about what a fulfilling life looks like. This episode was really cool. So I hope you enjoy it and take on my challenge of meeting up with someone you don't know much about this week and just learning about them for an hour. In person. Or video call. Whatever it takes. Thank you for the support, please subscribe, The Lifestyle Chase is available on all podcast platforms. Please share with your friends. Episode 50 - Carolyn Macdonald
Based out of Toronto, Carolyn Macdonald is the Director of Operations for Examine.com which is a highly trusted collection of nutrition and supplement information based on science. She is poised to quickly become a sought after powerhouse in the realm of getting shit done. It comes down to being able to be really genuine with the people around you. Getting to know people and being invested in them to the extent that you understand where the squeaky wheel is, is one of her strongest qualities. She has recently also guested on my friends, Dean Guedo and Andrew Coates' The Fitness Devil Podcast so the combination of listening to both will give you a broader scope of what Carolyn is all about. In this episode we talked about travelling, life 20 years ago, working in public relations, dogs, and the value of being surrounded by really good people. Carolyn is a big advocate for making the people around her better at doing what it is that they love. She is highly skilled at understanding different personalities and truly getting to know people which proves to be a huge asset in how effective she can be at developing people to leverage their strengths and at the right times, outsource certain tasks so that we aren't always focussed on being able to do what other people already do well.Great individuals are greater when they are open to the idea of collaboration and elevating others. I really hope you enjoy this episode and you should definitely keep an eye out for Carolyn as she will be one of the presenters at the first ever Evolve Strength Symposium which will take place here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on September 14 and 15. We dropped a lot of names in this episode and Carolyn dropped a lot of "f-bombs" so between those two things, be ready to either hear your name or cover your kids' ears. A lot of people have heard of her, they know who she is, but there's certain aspects of her story they may not know about. I really enjoyed this conversation with Jaime. We talked about so many things, life in Fort Mac, navigating relationships, the fitness industry, travelling, the sacrifices of owning a business, the fulfillment of it the list goes on.As I stack on more and more episodes with more and more people, the conversations evolve and change and shift, I ask different questions and listen better and learn more things. That's just your small lesson that if you do something consistently over an extended period of time, you will keep getting better and better at it. As long as it is something you are passionate about. Thanks for listening. Please subscribe and listen to some of the other episodes when you get a chance. Episode 46 - Chase Erwin
After going to this year's Kansas City Fitness Summit I got to meet a lot of really cool people who I had a lot in common with. Chase Erwin is from Little Rock, Arkansas. The funny backstory to this is every time I read "Arkansas", I accidentally say Ar-Kansas". Little embarrassing, but at least I didn't say it like that in the episode. I suppose I could have left that out of the description but oh well. We talk about Chase's origin story, Canada things, Arkansas things, he does a really solid wrestler impression, recounts some of his favourite client stories, talks about the things he loves about his wife and gives some rock solid advice for new parents. At some point in one of the stories, someone gets poop on their hands. You'll have to listen to find out who.As always, thank you for all of the support. Episode 45 - Geha Gonthier
Geha has an incredible amount of experiences in her life which she shared only a fraction of with me in this episode. It was a very meaningful conversation filled with vulnerability and life lessons and meaningful moments in all of the things that she has done. On the surface you may see her as a business owner in the wellness industry, but behind it all there is so much more to her, and as we discuss further, there is really so much more to everyone. This episode is available on all major podcast platforms or through the link in my bio. You will absolutely want to listen to it and it would be incredibly meaningful to me to see who has listened. Episode 44 - Mr. and Mrs. Love Pizza (Gavin Fedorak and Braede Harris)
Braede and Gavin came over to chat about all the things. Everything from business, to workplace environment to raising children and even to fitness. This episode could have been twice as long as it was but I think that's the best part of a meaningful conversation. It's all about looking forward to next time you see the people. We talked about how it's better to not worry about what everyone else does or what everyone else thinks is normal and simply worry about doing things that mean a lot to you and things that you feel really passionate about.Gavin Fedorak had already co-founded Press'd sandwich shop before him and Braede created Love Pizza so he is a great source of knowledge and experience which it comes to creating and running a franchise and business ownership. Near the end of the episode we also chatted about the newest business venture of this power couple, you'll have to listen to find out what is coming soon. It's amazing how the right frame of mind can allow you to accomplish so many great things within a career. It just takes patience. At the same time, they do a great job of raising the Love Pizza Prince in a way that feels right for them and works for their family. It's good to be in tune with what you feel is most important to you because at the end of the day if you just do what everyone says you are supposed to do, will you really be happy?I hope you enjoy this episode, I definitely had a great visit with these two. Episode 43 - Aaron Norris and Arri McWatt
You'll be hard pressed to find two business partners the vibe with each other better than these two fine gentleman. At least not ones who aren't married. In approaching the boys, I considered interviewing them separately - maybe a few months apart, but from what I knew of them, their bond has had a huge impact on the humans who they are today. Aaron and Arri are two really good dudes. They value their friends and family greatly and at the end of the day they just want to be surrounded by people who they feel like they could sit down and have a beer with. We chatted about the days of past and about Aaron going into the role of being a dad and Arri finding his other half. We chatted extensively about donairs and pizza and Australia and comfort zones and organization and beer. Lot of people got shout outs because these guys really value their community both socially and within their career. This one was fun, I hope you give it a listen! You'll be able to find The Lifestyle Chase on all major podcast platforms, and the link in my bio. Episode 42 - Josh Nill
I noticed how much I was talking about breathing in my podcasts so I recruited someone else to demonstrate it this time.Josh Nill and I share the commonality of growing up in or around a small town. Those rural roots run deep. We also discovered we know a lot of the same people as we've been getting to know each other at Evolve South. It's really a small world.Something that Josh is pretty humble about is his experience working with the Dallas Stars organization for their development camp. That's something that's always stood out to me as being a pretty valuable experience. We didn't mention it in the podcast too much because I was scared I was going to breach his confidentiality agreement. But now you know he's got some cool stuff on his resume. In this episode we chat about how Andrew Coates isn't as scary as Josh used to think he was. Much like Tormund from Game of Thrones, he's just a big friendly dude with a lot of personality. All in good fun, check out The Fitness Devil with Andrew and Dean Guedo if you want to really dive down the fitness rabbit hole. I plug them a lot because friends with podcasts should support their other friends who also have podcasts. We chatted about mentors and family and pizza and the Avengers and the Hot 107 award that Evolve just received which we think might just be because people are coming for Bear-Bear.This one was a suuuper casual episode, and just a way for two trainers to get to know each other in a day where we had a window between clients. You'll want to give it a listen. Josh is almost as weird as I am :P.I need all the help I can get in helping The Lifestyle Chase to grow. So if you happen to listen to an episode, please share it on social media, rate it on iTunes, or send me a message and let me know what you think. You'll be able to find this episode on nearly all podcast platforms, or the link in my bio and they also get archived on www.yegfitness.ca Thank you for the support, I hope you enjoy! Episode 41 - Jelena Mrdjenovich
The sport of boxing is unlike any other. It's accessible to so many, going into it is a head game. It's independent, yet you still need your people. Jelena is fighting at The Edmonton Convention Centre June 22nd at 7:00 PM. So if you want to experience something electric, you will want to get to Ticketmaster before it sells out. When it comes down to ANYONE believing in themselves and being one percent better each day, waking up to be the best version of themselves that they can be that day, they can do it. The concept of simply striving for betterment, or being your best in that day despite the things that are out of our control is within reach for EVERYONE.This is something Jelena truly believes and does her best to empower others to believe as well. The truth is that the drive or desire or the want be better is associated with a feeling of discomfort. Nobody likes feeling uncomfortable but you don't get anywhere by staying complacent. So you just have to take a risk, be uncomfortable, then get good at it. This visit was definitely the highlight of my day, and I am a pretty positive dude, so you have to ask yourself, how good could this conversation have been to make it the highlight?!? It was a really great chat. You'll have to listen. Learn from the Champ. Jelena has a great deal of wisdom, and she's an incredibly compassionate human being. I consider myself lucky that I got to spend all that time "shooting the shit". I always appreciate and value the support of my listeners, it goes a long way in helping me with this passion project. If you happen to listen to this episode, please share it on social media, or send me a private message an let me know what you thought. Ratings and review are always welcome! This and all episodes will be available on all major podcast platforms as well as youtube, www.yegfitness.ca, and the link in my bio. I appreciate the support, and I hope you'll be able to make it to watch Jelena do what she does best on June 22nd. Let her know you have her back. Episode 40 - Sean Freeman
Sean Freeman is good people. He has the title of Hype Man for The Lifestyle Chase. He's just got a good vibe about him. What I have observed in his character is that he truly owns it. If he supports someone, he supports them hard. If he is passionate about something, he is really really passionate. We talk about his big and loving family, his experiences in playing on a Paralympic soccer team that traveled all over the world, the dynamics of living with cerebral palsy but being grateful for his abilities. We talk about his journey and triumphs with sobriety and what it took for him to make that decision.Sometimes you just need to own everything you do. You need to have pride in what you do. Sometimes you have to go against the curve, and find your way to be the best version of yourself. I think Sean is a great dude so I hope you are one of the first people to listen to this episode. There's a lot you can learn from him and the experiences he's had in his life. If you enjoy this episode, please share it on social media or rate it on iTunes. Episode 39 - In Loving Memory of Colin and Madeline Axelsen with Special Guest Leanne Axelsen
It may be several years later, but I still see the influence that people in my life have left with me. That is what makes me proud to be able to share the legacy of someone who impacted me in my youth and somehow continues to impact me today. Episode 39 in in loving memory of Colin Axelsen and his daughter Madeline. Colin was also known to some as Mr. Axelsen, Axelsen, or Axe. He resonated with students, colleagues, athletes, family and friends. There were a great deal of times when he had my back when I really needed it, whether that just be as someone who was willing to listen or sometimes just someone who was intuitive and just there to check in on things. I want you to hear more about him, and why he means so much to so many of the people he's come across and I was honoured to get to hear it from the person who knows him the very best, Leanne Axelsen. Leanne talks to me about what set Colin apart for her and for others. She talks about her life with her two growing boys, her surprise venture into creative writing and how it served her and of course, we talk about what she enjoys better, cookies or cake. It means a lot when people take the time to listen to episodes like this one, because I am sharing a lot and my guest Leanne is sharing even more. So I hope when you listen, you let me know what you think. Send me a message, tag me on social media, get a hold of me somehow. Episode 38 - TJ Sadler
TJ Sadler has been along for the ride for my whole fitness career. He brought me onto the team as an Account Manager for YEG Fitness Magazine and has always been in my corner in my year as an indoor cycle instructor as well as my career so far as a trainer. We talk about his teaching career, the journey of running a magazine, life in Edmonton, working out, his kids, his parents, and his hand tattoo. You'll have to give this one a listen to really dive in. We both like to talk. As always, a huge thank you for the continued support of The Lifestyle Chase - you'll be able to find it on Spotify, iTunes/Apple Music, Google Play, YouTube, www.yegfitness.ca and the link in my bio. Please help me grow my audience by sharing your listens on social media or leaving a review on iTunes or Apple Music. Episode 37 - Jordan Aimoe
A big part of my overarching vision for The Lifestyle Chase is to empower other people to push forward despite life's obstacles and to not take things for granted. Chasing the things that we feel most passionate about and valuing the people in our lives greatly is especially important to me. Part of expanding my guest roster and making some of the interviews remotely enables my listeners to have a greater perspective, and in a way it elevates the stories of the guests I have had on so far. A lot of people will listen for the guests that they know and then they will learn that sometimes the episodes that teach them the most are the guests they didn't know at all. It's worth it to find out. My guest Jordan Aimoe and I haven't actually seen each other for a number of years but we have taken our lives in directions that are deeply meaningful to us. Jordan and I go back to our days working together as camp counselors at Sylvan Lake and we've both grown a lot in the years since. This episode will give you a lot of perspective of how many excuses we make for ourselves when we are missing out on experiences. There's a lot more to life than material things or routine or following a norm. There is something to be said about the unpredictability of being somewhere new. Egypt is a very different country. Mental health, special needs, LGBTQ2+, and women as a whole are seen very differently there. The dynamics are interesting and I think anyone whether you're a teacher or not will learn a lot from our conversation.I hope you enjoy it, it's available on iTunes/Apple Play, Spotify, Google Play, YouTube, the link in my bio and at www.yegfitness.caFor anyone interested in knowing more about Jordan's journeys, you can check out his blog here aimoelesslywandering.wordpress.com Get full access to Insight by Chris Liddle at chrisliddle.substack.com/subscribe

Episode 36 - Julie Harrish
Julie is a badass. *End of description*Actually though, Julie embodies the self awareness to trust her gut and make those decisions that matter to her. She is surrounded by people near and far who are hungry for more out of life and she has some life experiences that have truly shaped her into the amazing human being that she is. If you like Donuts and Deadlifts you're going to be a fan of this episode. I think you should listen to it either way. To say that life well lived is without failure would be a misrepresentation. The most important thing is what we are considering as we move forward and level up. I really enjoyed this conversation and I hope you do too!The Lifestyle Chase is available in the link in my bio as well as Spotify, iTunes/Apple Music, Google Play www.yegfitness.ca and now also on YouTube (Audio). Episode 35 - Chris Liddle Hosted By Lacintha Naidoo
Hey All, this is Lacintha sitting in for Chris.Today was a day of spontaneous fun. I got to turn the microphone on Chris Liddle, host of "The Lifestyle Chase".We gathered around my kitchen table and spoke about Chris' earlier years, his advice to his younger self, the path he has always traveled on as a leader and coach, his musical background and on how he really feels about Nicki Minaj and Cardi B ;). I hope you enjoy this episode and that you learna little bit more about this lovely human. You'll be able to find this episode on Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, Apple Music, the link in Chris' bio or at www.yegfitness.ca.Please help him promote the stories shared on The Lifestyle Chase by giving a rating or sharing on social media. Episode 34 - Marnie Ashcroft
Episode 34 was recorded right inside the Sherwood Park Glow Juicery while we both drank Glow Juice (thank you again for the boost of energy, Marnie!). Marnie is a really genuine human being and just like she talks about in her leadership style, she has always supported my new ideas and the ideas of many many others. You're going to find a lot of features of Marnie between TV appearances, other people's podcasts, articles, blogs, etc. I am hoping that I got to talk about things that she hasn't talked about in a while, or maybe asked them in a way that gave us greater perspective to what makes her who she is. The more you know about Marnie, the more it makes sense as to how Glow Juicery has been able to grow across Canada. Everything is the product of hard work and consistency. If we really care about something or if it means more to have done it than to live with the regret of not doing it, the work we put into our passion will feel genuine and worthwhile. I believe that if you are doing the things that mean the absolute most to you, it will enable you to grow in the journey and see your goals through. However it comes with risks, grit, passion, self-belief and really owning those core values. I hope you enjoy this episode, and as an added note, friends of The Lifestyle Chase, Jennifer Nielson and Shara Vigeant are in the middle of a food fight, so if you haven't bought one of their salads and live close to the Sherwood Park or Old Strathcona location, get after it. Both great causes. Thank you for listening, please take some time to help me out with a rating on iTunes or Apple Music. You can find The Lifestyle Chase on most podcast platforms and apps, or on the link in my bio. The Lifestyle Chase is also partnered with YEG Fitness and episodes are also added to www.yegfitness.ca regularly. Thank you for the support and I hope you enjoy the conversation! Episode 33 - Brandon Jacobs
Brandon Jacobs is a very cool person with a wealth of life experience. He's the Director of Holistic Health at Park Integrative Health. He initially went to school to be a teacher with the addition of coaching some teams in his past life. He's also worked a career as a massage therapist and personal trainer and currently wears the hats of a Yoga Instructor also developing his own Yin Yoga training alongside his partner in crime, Heather while finding what balance looks like in his role at Park Integrative Health. I think there is a lot of value in finding out more about people who are following their passion. Finding what got them to where they are, what influenced them, what keeps them grounded and what motivates them to elevate themselves and others. I think you'll enjoy our chat and if you do, please help promote it by sharing it on your social feed or giving a review on iTunes/Apple Music. Episode 32 - Lacintha Naidoo
I had the honour of spending a little over an hour with Lacintha having a very real conversation. She also baked and brought over some banana bread which I am eating right now. It's delicious. We talked about her life growing up in South Africa, apartheid, her experiences being a female lawyer surrounded by males, moving her life to Canada, family values, non-negotiables, personal awareness and the energy of the people we have in our lives. We gave a couple shout outs, we talked about yoga, we talked about books both reading them and writing them and we chatted about community and the value that people we meet bring us. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed my visit with Lacintha. You'll be able to find it on Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, Apple Music, the link in my bio or also at www.yegfitness.ca. Episode 31 - Jessica and Graham Doody
I am lucky to know so many incredible humans and Jessica and Graham Doody are no exception. I'm very glad I got to have this visit with them. They are definitely a high functioning couple, both with a great deal of life experiences that have impacted and shaped them as the people that they are today. We talked about a lot of the important things in life, lessons learned and at the very end we discussed how to perceive certain things in our life that just happen and get in the way. Sometimes you train for something for years and years, or you dream big, and it's important to always look at your core values to ensure they are maintained. It's important to take life's obstacles as lessons and not let downs. We fall, we get back up.I hope you enjoy this episode. You'll be able to find it on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Google Play, and the link in my bio. The Lifestyle Chase is also accessible via www.yegfitness.ca.Thank you for listening, my challenge to any new listeners is to choose an episode from someone you do not know, send me a message and tell me what you learned. Episode 30 - Case Kenny
Episode 30 is with Chicago Based, Case Kenny. Case is a man that wears many hats. He's a Sales Director, Entrepreneur, writer, podcast host of New Mindset Who Dis, and founder of www.prsuit.com.He's a pretty cool dude and we could relate on a lot of different levels. I thought it was pretty awesome. What sets Case apart in his industry is his ability to be himself, and promote that for others. He believes that while mindset can change a lot in your life, you also need to take action to make that change happen. We chatted about all the things except I forgot to ask him what kinds of food he likes. Maybe next time. I hope you give this one a listen. A lot of my listeners are used to hearing Edmonton guests all the time and I thought it would be some empowering perspective to hear from someone a little further away. These episodes are alway available on Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, Apple Music as well as through the link in my bio. If you enjoyed it, send me a message, or tag me on social. Episode 29 - Danielle MacDonald
I asked Danielle if she thought a gym dog could elicit a PR in someone's lift. She essentially said if the dog is watching you, you have to impress the dog so you will obviously be strong for the dog. I love that answer. A lot of my guests have never listened to any of my podcast episodes going into it. Some of them have listened to several of them. It all depends on the individual, what is going on in their life and how much spare time they have. I didn't really know Danielle going into this podcast. I have followed her on social media for a year or more, and I knew she would be able to speak to certain mental and physical strengths required in life. How do we deal with someone else's death when we find ourselves showing showing empathy. How do we cope, how do we show our emotions, how do we live our lives?I just tried to keep it real and throw some laughs into this episode. You'll have to let me know what you think. If you're listening, share it on social and tag me in it. It often makes my day when someone lets me know they're listening to an episode. Ratings and reviews always help spread my message as well. Episode 28 - Dean Somerset
It was not a coincidence that I scheduled Dean Somerset to be on my podcast on my birthday. I mean, that was the day this week that he was most available to guest on it, but that's beside the point. Regardless of what day it is today, it fills my cup to spend as much time with good human beings as possible. For anyone who doesn't know, Dean Somerset has his BSc. Kinesiology, he's a certified exercise physiologist, certified strength and conditioning specialist, and medical exercise specialist. If you casually ask him what he does in the gym though, he might just say he's a personal trainer. During certain times of the year, he travels around the world to share his wealth of knowledge that came from years of experience in the industry, a passion in the pursuit of learning, and just plain integrity in staying humble and being open to the lessons you can learn from everyone you meet in your life. In addition to presenting at conferences and summits, he creates a lot of material and releases a great deal of knowledge accessible to the masses. He's a goto for continuing education. He still works with clients one on one, out of Evolve Downtown for the simple reason that we enter this industry to be with people, face to face, and as such, this still holds importance in his career. We talk about family influence, sports, high school life, cookies or ice cream, lasagna, pizza, dogs, and high fives.I don't really have to sell this episode to you, if you know Dean, you're already listening to it. He's a guy that many people are invested in and I am honoured that he shared his time with me today. If you enjoy this one, send me a message, tag me in a post or give it a review and a rating. Episode 27 - Ryan McDonald
Episode 27 comes with a bit of a prelude to explain the echoing. The release was delayed by a few days (FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER haha) because I truly went "full nerd" in my attempt to get rid of or reduce the echo. Once you get that minor detail behind you it was a really fun conversation.Ryan McDonald is a local Realtor and is one of the most driven people I know. Let's not forget that I know a lot of driven people. Before I go further, I want to mention I have appointed him as my official episode sponsor (so I mean, I just want to remind you he sells houses with the McDonald Real Estate Group). That's not what he's all about though, he didn't ask or a plug.He talks about it in the episode how sometimes in our own selfish way it feels good to help people. He's helped me in many ways in my career. We talk about family, his dad life, his love of pizza and the illusions that Vance Bosch has that he also loves Costco Hot Dogs. It's a good one, you should give it a listen. Send me a message, let me know what you think. As always, ratings and shares help me out tremendously and I appreciate them greatly. Episode 26 - Jennifer Neilson
They call her "Bitchin' Housewife" and if there is ever a Zombie Apocalypse her phone is going to light up with people in her life that knows when life throws you an obstacle you find a way to stop bitching about it and rise up. We really dive into what defines relentlessness. It will look different to everyone, maybe it will seem like our situation isn't as big of a deal as someone else's or perhaps it could feel like our situation is much more dire than anyone we know. Essentially it's about this:What do you do when shit hits the fan in your life? Jennifer has been an entrepreneur, she's run long distance races while pregnant, she's gone through the mental and physical roller coaster of a bodybuilding competition, she battles endometriosis, she's felt rock bottom and she's felt what it feels like to be at the top, she's a mom. Did I mention she ran long distances while pregnant?!? We talk about just about everything you can fit into an hour of conversation and it is completely improvised. I also give away my secret formula to my relaxation baths and we give a bunch of people a shout out. I was very glad I got to have this chat and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. You can find it on most podcast streaming platforms, Google Play, Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, or even by simply googling The Lifestyle Chase. Partnered with YEG Fitness Magazine. If you enjoy it, please let me know by tagging me and sharing it on social media. I always appreciate when my messages get spread. Thank you for listening! Episode 25 - Mental Health Edition with Blake Loates and Michelle Bagnell
Mental Health. They say not enough men talk about it. Or people are scared to talk about it. There are a lot of people who assume that a such a positive person couldn't possibly be brought to tears when they think about someone they lost in a battle to mental health, as though battles are never faced by positive supportive people. It's hard to define, people have different experiences and it feels uncomfortable or in some instances it's frowned upon to talk about the negative things in life.Unless we talk about it, really dig deep into what it feels like, we can't experience growth. When we can't acknowledge or really own it when we are at a low in our mental health or when we can't tell the story of how someone else's mental health altered our lives, we can't really experience the support we may need. This episode is incredibly meaningful to me, and is amplified by the addition of my guests who both have stories of their own.Listen in as I open up on the topic of mental health across the table from Blake Loates and Michelle Bagnell. If this episode resonates you, pass it on, or share it. If you have a story of your own you'd rather share instead, I challenge you to share it with someone. We need to be okay with not being okay, because mental health is just as much a priority as physical and unless we acknowledge that it is there, that it's a thing, and that it plays a role in everyone's life, how will we ever fight life's battles?#weallbelieveinyou #purpose #letstalk #endthestigma Get full access to Insight by Chris Liddle at chrisliddle.substack.com/subscribe
