Episode 268: The Best Tunes of Television - Part 2
Believe it or not, we’re talking on air about the theme songs you hear on the TV! We had so much fun discussing the greatest music on television last time, that we’ve decided to do it again, and, much to Kent’s dismay, we can’t use any songs that any of us used on the last show. On this episode of Baconsale, we’re picking answers for such categories as Best Theme of The Past Decade, Doesn’t Fit the Show, Gets You Pumped Up, and Most Annoying. There are some strangely dark turns along the way (poor Barney), and Zack gets a few votes of no confidence, but there must be some magic clue inside these gentle walls, ‘cause all we see is a tower of dreams, and real love burstin' out of every seam! Put down that tossed salad and those scrambled eggs and press play!

Episode 267: The Test of Time—Our Childhood Edition
Kids watch the darndest things, and the hosts of Baconsale were once children with questionable tastes in movies. Therefore, on this episode, Kent, Joel, and Zack are all bringing a lesser-known childhood favorite to the table for the others to critique. We even got Jacob to submit a film for this discussion. Our choices are kind of strange—in fact, you may not have heard of some of these direct-to-video picks—but we’ll see if they still hold up decades after they were released. Press play to hear which features were filmed for your family!

Episode 266: Our Claim to Shame
Look, we’re not perfect here at Baconsale. And despite many listener believing that we’ve watched every movie and TV series ever, it’s simply not true. So on this episode, we’re acknowledging the gaps in our pop culture knowledge and admitting to popular films and television shows that we have not seen. This isn’t easy for us, and these painful confessions may be shocking for some. However, we’re going to do our best to be sensitive to one another’s vulnerability…for the first few minutes. Press play to hear which classic horror movie Kent hasn’t experimented with, a major martial arts blind spot for Joel, and whether or not Zack will go to prison for one of his omissions.

BaconBit: A Toast to Breakfast Drinks
We couldn’t fit all of these morning beverages into our breakfast food tiering show, so we decided to take another ridiculous dive into liquid refreshment and rank popular drink choices such as orange juice, milk, coffee, energy drinks, hot chocolate, tomato juice, and more on this BaconBit. As we do so, we learn that grapefruit juice can kill you, everything seems to make Zack sick, and Kent cheats…or maybe he’s just bad at math. Press play to enjoy a freshly-squeezed cup of Baconsale!

Episode 265: Breakfast and the Furious
Breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day. But let’s face it, some breakfast meals are more important than others. So, on this episode of Baconsale, we’re ranking popular morning dishes, from bacon and the incredible, edible egg to fruit and fancy yogurt. We’ll also talk about the history of these dishes, which may include some ridiculous attempts at foreign accents. Joel has a deep love for most breakfast foods (much like Ron Swanson), Zack is fond of gruel and thinks things just taste better in New York, while Kent has a strange dedication to Pop Tarts and other bachelor cuisine. Wake up, pop a Dutch baby in the oven, and press play to join the breakfast party!

Episode 264: Putting Rush in the Limelight
We’re modern-day warriors with a mean, mean stride and today's episode is a mean, mean ride. Our guest and working man, Ryan, is joining us to gush about his favorite band, Rush. Zack is already a big fan of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart, but Kent and Joel are relatively new to their music—however, they prepared for this show by listening to all 19 of their studio albums. And while there may be subdivisions in our fandom, we all come together to discuss the history of Canada’s greatest progressive rock group and try to bring them closer to the heart. Press play to listen to this extended play episode, which, let’s face it, is actually shorter than some Rush songs.

Episode 263: The Best Disney Sidekick (Tournament Finals)
Sidekicks. You give them an inch, they swim all over you. And on this episode of Baconsale, we’re going to finish what we started and allow the secondary protagonists & antagonists of popular Disney movies duke it out in a no-holds-barred battle to the death. We don’t always agree, and it isn’t pretty when some beloved animated characters meet a terrible demise, but Kent, Joel and Zack are determined to complete the bracket and declare an ultimate winner. Will Olaf live to see another summer when he goes up against Timon & Pumbaa? Who has more horsepower, Mater or Maximus? And will the world finally know the name of Helga Sinclair? Press play to find out! And print your own advanced bracket at Baconsale.com.

Episode 262: Tournament of Disney Sidekicks
Heroes & villains have all the fun, so Baconsale felt that it was time for Disney sidekicks & henchmen to get the spotlight. We’ve created a tournament-style bracket with animated characters you love (Kronk, Sebastian, Tinkerbell) and some that you’ll barely remember (Wiggins, Morph, Helga Sinclair) and we’re pitting them against each other in a battle to the death. You won’t always agree with Kent, Joel, and Zack but, in the end, you’ll have to admit that we put WAY too much thought into this. Will Little John outfox Baloo? Will Flotsam & Jetsam give Horace & Jasper a thrashing? Will Genie be able to take on all of the Seven Dwarfs? Press play to find out! And visit Baconsale.com to print out your own bracket and play along at home.

BaconBit: Hamilton Review
You say a podcast review of this play is a little too late. You’ve sighed as you’ve seen us give C’s to fun scenes and movies that you’ve liked. Please don’t fuss. Remember the play is expensive to see on the stage. Now it’s on Disney Plus. And thus Baconsale must discuss Hamilton. No take backs, from all three—our reviews are out for all to see. No take backs, time will tell, and if we got it wrong, oh well. Hopes, they rise, franchises fall, we have seen each other through it all. And when push comes to shove, keep in mind our opinions are not facts and come from a place of love. Da da-da press play!

Episode 261: We Ate Everything at Wendy's
Where’s the beef? Well, it’s in Kent’s, Joel’s, and Jacob’s bellies, because Baconsale has completed another menu quest! Despite a global pandemic, we managed to eat every single item at Wendy’s and we’re ready to talk about the best & worst offerings the world's third-largest hamburger fast-food chain has to offer. We’ll also discuss Dave Thomas, strange slogans, chili scandals, Twitter roasts, and more—all while uncovering Joel’s fondness of Frostys, Kent’s soft spot for spicy things, and Jacob’s passion for potatoes. Don’t be a square (burger), press play!

Episode 260: The Mount Rushmores of World War Movies
Atteeeeeention! Now, I want you to remember that no podcast ever won by doing only one episode about war movies. They won by doing two episodes about war movies. On this episode of Baconsale, Kent and Joel are building more monuments for some of their favorite war films—this time focusing on World War I and World War II. From the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand to the unconditional surrender of the Axis powers, we’re going to do our best to honor those movies that really made an impact on the cinematic world, even if they aren’t completely historically accurate. Keep the sand out of your weapons, keep those actions clear, and press play.

Episode 259: Twi-Hard with a Vengeance
Sparkly vampires, shirtless werewolves, vacant stares, clumsy dialogue. We know what this is...and we’re going to say it…out loud. Twilight. But don’t expect the full force of our criticism to be unleashed, because on this episode of Baconsale our task is to defend Stephenie Meyer’s popular books and their film adaptations. It’s not going to be easy, but we’re going to do our best to stay positive and speak about the merits of this young adult romance fantasy franchise. However, we will allow ourselves a few rant breaks, just so we don’t completely go insane. It doesn’t matter if you’re Team Edward, Team Jacob, or Team Aro, you’d better press play, spider monkey!

BaconBit: Artemis Fowl Review
We’re Baconsale and we’re criminal masterminds. Well…maybe we are. We’re not quite certain, actually. But we are certain that Disney just released a film adaptation of Artemis Fowl, and we’re going to review it. None of us have read the book series, so we watched this movie without any expectations. We have a lot to say about it now. And even if you haven’t seen it, you can still listen to the first part of this review, which is spoiler free. In fact, we recommend listening to this episode before you watch it. Dame Judi Dench’s gravely voice commands that you press play.

Episode 258: Cruisin’ with The Beach Boys
Surfin’ may be the only life, the only way for some, but for the three landlocked members of Baconsale, The Beach Boys was their closest connection to catchin’ waves, cool cars, and sunny beaches. So on this episode, we’re pickin' up good vibrations by discussing the best and worst songs this classic American rock band has given us during their five decades of making music. Kent thinks Brian Wilson is a genius. Zack says he loves The Beach Boys, but does he really? And Joel must draw a line in the sand about Kokomo. Tell the teacher we’re surfin’, tell your dad we’re finally talking about one of his favorite bands, then press play! And go to Baconsale.com for the Spotify playlist of Beach Boys music we talked about on this episode that we told you we’d give you.

Episode 257: Wheel of Game Shows
Come on down! You’re the next listener on the Baconsale podcast! On this episode, we’re talking about game shows, old and new, and the survey says Kent, Joel, and Zack will have a great time doing it. We’re picking answers for 15 different categories, such as Best Host, Most Recognizable Theme Song, Show You Think You’d Do Well On, and Needs a Comeback. Plus, Joel & Kent try to win fabulous prizes while taking a trivia quiz that reveals who is the weakest link. Press play, then phone a friend and tell them to listen as well.

Episode 256: Avatar: The Last Podcaster
Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, the four members of Baconsale lived in ignorance of a popular Nickelodeon TV series. Then, everything changed when Joel’s coworkers suggested he watch it. Only Joel watched Avatar: The Last Airbender at first, then he recommended it to Kent and it began to spread. But when the world needed this show the most, it vanished from streaming services. A few years passed, and Avatar has now returned to Netflix, and we have a superfan named Kris joining us to talk about it. And although our desire to discuss the whole series is great, we’re going to stick to the basics in order to appeal to everyone. But we believe that The Last Airbender can save the world. Don’t let the animation style scare you away. Press play!

Episode 255: The Mount Rushmores of War Movies
Gooooooooood morning, listener! There are many war movies out there. So many. Too many to choose from, in fact, so we’ve strategically narrowed down the field a bit. On this episode of Baconsale, Kent and Joel are each selecting four war films that don’t deal with the World Wars to put on their personal monument, following which we’ll decide which ones we’d carve in stone to create a public monument. From the Persian invasion of Greece to modern-day Afghanistan (but skipping over the years 1914 through 1945), we’re discussing some of the best battles the silver screen has to offer. Are you not entertained? Wait, you’re not? Well, then, press play.

BaconBit: The Snyder Cut is Real!
Kent hoped. Kent dreamed. Kent retweeted. And finally, this DC fanboy’s dream has come true, because Zack Snyder’s Justice League is coming to the small screen! HBO Max is releasing the Snyder Cut next year, 2021, and Kent could not be happier. Well, he would have been a little happier if Henry Cavill had announced Man of Steel 2, but he’s still pretty thrilled, and he wants to spread his warm fuzzy feelings to you, the listener. Press play to hear Kent squee with geeky delight!

Episode 254: NES-talgia
Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, select, start. There. Now you have 30 lives to listen to this episode of Baconsale! Today we’re taking things back to our childhood, when we would spend hours playing video games on the original Nintendo Entertainment System on our big 22-inch screen TVs. We’ve picked a dozen categories such as Doesn’t Hold Up, Deserves a Reboot, Best Box Art, and Most Frustrating Boss, and Kent & Joel are ready to choose their NES answers for each one. It's dangerous to go alone! Press play to take this episode.

BaconBit: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Review
We’re not quite sure how Kent talked us into doing this, but for this BaconBit we’re reviewing the 2020 remake of a 1997 PlayStation game that was the seventh installment in the series. Kent was very passionate about Final Fantasy 7 back then, and he seems to share the same passion now—even though the new remake changes some things that fans of the franchise may not be happy with. Join us as we do our best to not make Kent cry, because he did back in ’97 when he played FF7. Oh, and just in case you were worried, we’re not spoiling anything for the first part of this review, so go ahead and press play.

Episode 253: One & Done Movies
Have you ever enjoyed a movie that you never wanted to watch again? Kent, Joel, and Zack have! Whether it be because they were too long, too dark, too experimental, or too perfect, we’re talking about films that we’re glad we saw, but don’t have a desire to revisit. We’ll do our best to keep things light and fluffy, despite the grim subject matter we encounter along the way. Listen as Kent fears for Joel's hipster soul, while Zack makes some picks that are sure to be controversial for both children & adults. Press play to decide how many times you’d like to listen to this episode of Baconsale.

Episode 252: Schoolyard Pick – Annoying Animated Edition
Imagine Kent and Joel are on a school field, with a bunch of bad animated feature films standing in front of them. They must choose their team, one by one, and then present their final list to Zack, who has to decide which group of movies he’ll be watching for the rest of his life. That’s the premise of this episode. Watch as we try to defend mediocre-to-terrible children’s cartoons that you, the listener, gave to us. It ain’t pretty, but it’s Baconsale. Don’t get left on the bench, press play!

BaconBit: Extraction Review
Now that Chris Hemsworth is taking a break from being Thor (and taking a break from arm day, according to Zack), Baconsale is here to give our review of his latest movie, Extraction. But is this straight-to-Netflix action flick as good as the ones they release in theaters? We’ll let you know. And don’t worry about the overly complicated plot, we’re ready to help walk you through it once we leave the spoiler-free part of this BaconBit. Press play to hear some amazing Australian-like accents!

Episode 251: This Show is Still Overrated!
Are you ready for a life-changing experience that will change your life forever? Four years ago, Baconsale presented a list of people, places, and things that we felt were overrated. Everyone in the world agreed it was the best show we’d ever done…UNTIL NOW! Buckle your brain belts, because once again, we’re talking about overhyped stuff. Our range of random topics includes overpraised breakfast foods, Olympic sports, Pixar movies, sitcom characters, smartphone features, condiments (a surprisingly touchy subject), and so much more! Press play to have your mind blown by the new most greatest episode of Baconsale!

Episode 250: Do You Even Hasbro?
You can be a winner at the game of life by listening to this episode of Baconsale! Today we’re ranking some of the most popular tabletop games in history, including Monopoly, Scrabble, Twister (can you play that on a table?), Yahtzee, Connect Four, and The Settlers of Catan. You think playing Risk makes people angry? Just wait until Kent, Joel, or Zack give one of your family favorites a low tier. Get ready for fun facts, random histories, and the confessions of a board flipper. And just in case you were wondering who we want to press the play button, it’s you, in your home, with the candlestick.

Episode 249: The Parents Guide Game
The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) is a wonderful resource for any movie-lover, but some of the user-submitted content on that site is a little strange. Therefore, on this episode of Baconsale, we’re introducing a new game (that’s going to sweep the nation!) where Kent, Joel, and Zack try to identify movies based solely on descriptions from the IMDb Parents Guide. We invite you to play along, as well, and see if you can beat our scores. Also, you should know that while this episode discusses potentially offensive material in films, we still try to keep things as family friendly as possible. Press play to hear why 1 out of 1 listener found this podcast interesting!

Episode 248: Rage Against the Tomato
Just because something is awful doesn’t mean we hate it. Today Baconsale is scraping the bottom of the barrel to search for movies we enjoy among the lowest-rated flicks on Rotten Tomatoes. Kent has to defend one of his all-time favorite films, Joel is apparently obsessed with Dana Carvey, and our good friend Zack, who is stepping in for Jacob today, almost gets kicked off the show multiple times. Press play to get critical with Baconsale!

BaconBit: Tiger King Review
Hey, all you cool cats and kittens! Hollywood may have stopped releasing feature films in theaters, but Netflix is bigger than ever with their latest seven-episode documentary, Tiger King. And in case you’ve been wondering what all the memes are about, Baconsale is here to review it. Kent, Joel, and Zack each watched it and are still trying to process everything they saw. If you haven’t seen it yet, don’t worry, the first half of this BaconBit is spoiler free. Don’t believe Carole Baskin’s lies about us! Press play to hear all about murder, mayhem and madness.

Episode 247: Quarantine TV Time
If you’ve got some time to kill—and many of us seem to have that problem these days—this is the episode for you! Today on Baconsale we’re talking about television shows that will help pass the hours, days, and even weeks, if necessary. These are shows that are available to stream online right now, so you can start enjoying our recommendations immediately. However, we must warn you that Kent embraces the dark, Joel gets in touch with his feminine side, and Jacob…well, Jacob has something important to tell you. Press play to hear the record for most Star Trek references on a single episode of Baconsale! (The previous record was one.)

Episode 246: The Best 2000s Alt-Rock Band (Tournament Finals)
Hold On to your cargo pants, listener! Baconsale is in The Middle of a 2000s alternative rock bracket, and we’re One Step Closer to crowning a Hero. The band matchups are now more Complicated, and we must keep going despite the Madness. Joel’s emotions are brought to Such Great Heights, Kent has a difficult time being Mr. Brightside, and Heads Will Roll as Jacob disagrees with some of the picks. It Ends Tonight, so press play, because we wouldn’t be Here Without You. Print your own advanced Baconsale 2000s Alt-Rock bracket at Baconsale.com

Episode 245: Take a Look, It Was a Book
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a trio of men in possession of a good idea, must be in want of a podcast episode. Therefore, Kent, Joel, and Jacob are ready to talk, without pride or prejudice, about film adaptations of books. Joining us on this episode is Drew, an avid reader and patron of Baconsale. We’re discussing which pieces of literature lend themselves well to the silver screen, as well as which novels would have best been left on the shelf. Press play to hear the audiobook version of this episode...before the movie comes out.

Episode 244: Tournament of 2000s Alt-Rock Bands
Somebody Told Me that you have been Sitting, Waiting, Wishing for another Baconsale music tournament, and we have The Remedy! It’s Been Awhile since the 2000s, but we’re looking back to see who is, Hands Down, the best alternative rock band from that era. We won’t go In Too Deep this episode, only through the first round of match-ups—The Reason is because we don’t want this episode to be 100 Years long. But Someday we’ll finish the bracket and pick Only One band that deserves A Praise Chorus. That’s What You Get when you press play! Print your own 2000s alt-rock bracket at Baconsale.com to play along at home!

Episode 243: Baconsale-Approved Driving Etiquette
Buckle up, listener, it’s time for Baconsale to talk about driving etiquette. We’re declaring which rules other drivers should follow, discussing proper protocol when riding in someone else’s car, and we’re giving road trip tips. Along the way, we’ll take a few pit stops to tell personal stories about learning to drive, getting into accidents, and evading the police (wait, what?). We’re also sharing road rules you submitted to us, and deciding which ones get the green light. Check your mirrors. Use your blinker. Press play.

BaconBit: The Invisible Man (2020) Review
Kent saw The Invisible Man, and he’s ready to get transparent about how he feels about it. Could this movie be the second beginning of Universal Picture’s Dark Universe? Kent’s not sure, but he does resist the urge to get into spoilers, despite Joel’s persistent questions. He also talks about the underlying themes in the film as well as how believable the visual effects are and how scary this thriller is overall. Press play to see what we’re talking about.

Episode 242: Is Pepsi Okay?
Are you looking for the Baconsale episode where we rank Pepsi products? Well, then, you got the right one, baby! Today we’re discussing 27 popular soft drinks, such as Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper, 7 Up, Hawaiian Punch, and A&W Root Beer. Each soda pop will get a tier 1, tier 2, or tier 3 ranking. Additionally, we’ll discuss perceived health benefits, Russian conspiracies, corporate sabotage, failed experiments, and weird jingles & slogans—including the song that inspires Kent to go “girlwatching.” I’m a listener! He’s a listener! She’s a listener! Wouldn’t you like to be a listener, too? Press play.

BaconBit: Sonic the Hedgehog Review
My, my, how the tables have turned. Joel took his kids to see Sonic the Hedgehog last weekend (which explains why it did so well at the box office), while Jacob went with some vague family members, and Kent is the one who hasn’t seen the movie yet. Joel and Jacob do their best to keep their reviews spoiler-free for the first part, then we race through the entire plot of this video game adaptation. Join us as we discuss character redesigns, product placement, and Jim Carrey’s performance as Doctor Robotnik. Hold down, repeatedly press A, then press play!

Episode 241: Video Game Hero Showdown
It’s-a me! Baconsale! And we’re joined by The Listener, Spencer, who is here to help us Pit popular heroes from video games against each other in Mortal Kombat. We’re going to try to fly through this Uncharted territory at Sonic speeds, so sometimes we’ll Crash and Contra-dict each other. However, at other times, we’ll find a Link and Ecco each other’s thoughts. But after the (Cloud) Strife, we’ll declare a winner as The Last of Us is left standing at the end of this tournament. Kick! Punch! I gotta believe you’ll press play! Print your own video game hero bracket at Baconsale.com to play along at home!

BaconBit: And the 2020 Oscar Winners Are…
Kent would like to introduce Joel, who would like to introduce Jacob, who will introduce our topic for this BaconBit, which is the results of the 92nd Academy Awards! Once again (and it seems like we say this every time), this was the lowest-rated Oscars ever. But Baconsale is here to recap the winners, the losers, the overly long speeches & political rants, the timely musical numbers, and the surprise twist ending! Plus, we’ll also be announcing the winners of our Oscars ballot contest! Press play to hear our acceptance speech in Korean.

Episode 240: How to Lose a Guy in 10 Things I Hate About You
Alright, alright, alright. With Valentine’s Day approaching, Baconsale decided to pit two very different romantic comedies against each other: 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) & How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003). Why these two movies? Well, Kent and Joel sometimes get the titles confused. Also, they passionately disagree as to which one is better. The guys try to keep the debate structured as they discuss the writing, directing, critical reviews, box office performance, and legacy of both films, but—as tends to happen in these versus-style episodes—the discussion tends to devolve into an argument about who’s interrupting whom. I want you to press play. I need you to press play. I'd love you to press play.

BaconBit: Birds of Prey Review
Hey puddin’! It’s time for Baconsale to review Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). Kent brought along a guest to the screening of this R-rated Suicide Squad sequel, but no, it wasn’t Jacob or Joel. Our friend Emily is here, as well, and she and Kent are going to try their best to not spoil the movie as they gush about the fight scenes and Margot Robbie’s performance. Press play, Mr. J (and everyone else)!

BaconBit: 2020 Sundance Recap with Emily
Now that Sundance is over, Kent is ready to talk about it. And he brought our good friend Emily with him to give us a recap of the Sundance movies that were bad, the films that were good, and how many times Emily fell asleep (spoiler alert: she slept a LOT). We also discuss when and where these films will be available for you to view, which will probably NOT be on Disney Plus. Press play to get indie with Baconsale!

Episode 239: 2020 Oscar Predictions
Rise and shine, listener! The Academy is getting an early start on award season this year, and they’ve bumped up the Oscars up to February 9th. Therefore, we had to do our annual Baconsale prediction show earlier, as well. Jacob and Joel are mind twins this time, matching on far too many answers, while Kent forges his own path to glory (or utter failure). And with a date night on the line, the stakes have never been higher. Listen as we discuss which films are Oscar bait, memorialize the things we lost in 2019, and try to perfect our Joker laugh. Here’s your statue. Take a breath. Take a bow. Thank your agent. Then press play. Plus, you can make your own predictions for the 92nd Academy Awards for a chance to win a fabulous prize! Visit Baconsale.com or our social media pages to find the link to our official Google Form.

Episode 238: Everybody Sundance Now
Pose for the paparazzi in your hipster coat, hat & sunglasses, because Baconsale is going to Sundance! Well, we’re not all going. Jacob isn’t that familiar with this indie film event and Joel thinks it’s too cold/crowded. However, Kent has gone for the last ten years and he’s ready to tell you all about it—including how to spot celebrities, where to go to see the movies you want, and why you should bring cash. We also discuss directors who got their big break there, what it means to be an independent film, and our favorite movies to come out of the Sundance Film Festival. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was here about 10 minutes ago, and he said to press play.

BaconBit: The Gentlemen Review
Oi, mate! Are you a fan of fast-talking gangsters with thick English accents? Well, then, you may enjoy Guy Ritchie’s latest movie, The Gentlemen. No, this isn’t a film adaptation of that terrifying episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, this is an action crime movie featuring Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Michelle Dockery, Colin Farrell, Hugh Grant and a lot of cursing. Kent went to a screening and he’s ready to give his review. We also spend a while discussing who Guy Ritchie is and why posters of his movies graced the walls of most college students in the early 2000s. Press play to see if Guy Ritchie is back in Kent’s good graces after Aladdin (2019).

Episode 237: 2020 Prediction Party
Whether you call it clairvoyance, fortune telling, or ESPN, Baconsale is peering deep into the upcoming year and predicting pop culture occurrences for 2020. Jacob has a pretty bleak outlook of the future—and things do get a little dark as we talk about untimely demises, filthy dragons, and the blood of innocents—but Kent and Joel also prognosticate about healthy fast food options, TV show reboots and THREE TYPES of sporting events (#ChiefLife)! Plus, we end the episode talking about films we want to flop and our most anticipated movies of the year. The relative position of the planets and the stars indicate that you should press play.

BaconBit: Bad Boys for Life Review
Woo! It’s been 17 years since the last Bad Boys movie, but without Michael Bay at the helm, will Bad Boys for Life still feel the same? Kent has seen the movie and is ready to tell us all about it. There won’t be any spoilers, but Kent will let us know why he’s unhappy with the name (Joel will try and come up with a better one), and we’ll also look at how these three movies have done at the box office and with audiences. Ride or die, it’s time for a BaconBit review! Woo!

Episode 236: Best & Worst Movies of 2019-ish
We’re back, baby! And we’re starting our sixth season of Baconsale with a recap of our favorite films of the past year. Kent selects movies that were released in 2019 and Joel picks ones he watched for the first time in 2019. Along the way, we find out what makes Kent smile (HINT: it has something to do with alligators), we discover that Joel can’t do a North Korean accent, and we learn how many cough drops Jacob can consume in a single episode. Press play to get your kicks with our beginning of season six!

BaconBit: The Rise of Skywalker & Cats Review
Memory, all alone in the dark side. I can dream of the old films. They were beautiful then. I remember the time I knew what Skywalkers were. Will the saga live again? Our season may have ended, but we couldn’t leave you hanging when two of the most anticipated movies of the year were released. So, on this BaconBit, Kent & Joel are going to review both Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Cats. We watched them on the same day, so comparisons are inevitable. But will this final chapter in the sequel right the wrongs Baconsale found in The Last Jedi? And will we ever figure out what “Jellicle” means? Press play to find out. And don’t worry, the first part of this BaconBit is spoiler-free, so even if you haven’t seen either movie, you can still listen!

Episode 235: Season Five for Fighting
After an entire year of talking about pop culture topics, it’s time for Baconsale to talk about talking about pop culture topics. We’re looking back at the past season and giving you behind-the-scenes peeks into how this podcast is made. Topics include how Kent makes cover art (more nostril!), tournament matches we regret, learning to play Dungeons & Dragons, recording with Weezer, the surprise popularity of soda pop, and why pumpkin spice stressed Jacob out and almost killed Joel. And while Kent, Joel, and Jacob may not agree on their choices, we do all agree that we’re grateful for you, the listener. Press play to hear how we wrap up the fifth season of Baconsale!

BaconBit: Decade Dance—Christmas Edition
It’s beginning to look a lot like a decade dance! Baconsale has already looked at horror films, action flicks, comedies, and dramas made in the past 10 years, but now it’s time for us to briefly talk about whether or not any good Christmas movies were released between 2010 and 2019. Kent and Joel have picked their top three and they’re ready to (kind of) recommend them to you. However, we also invoke the name of an ancient evil…one that we haven’t spoken of for a long, long time. Press play to get into the holiday spirit with Baconsale!
