Episode 230: Decade Dance—Comedy Edition
It’s time for another Decade Dance, where Baconsale looks back at movies from the past 10 years and discusses the best of the best. This time around, we’re talking about comedies released between 2010 and 2019. It’s not easy to explain why a comedy is comical, but we’re sure going to try! Joel has a love-hate relationship with his list and it stressed him out to select his favorite funny films, but Kent is happy to cheer on the darkness and violence in his humorous hipster picks. Press play to hear us laugh at each other’s comedic choices.

BaconBit: Terminator: Dark Fate & Doctor Sleep Reviews
No, you’re not seeing double, Kent saw two sequels to popular 80s thrillers, and he’s ready to review both of them. Joel and Jacob didn’t attend these screenings, so they’re going to have to take Kent’s word on it as he talks about which Terminator sequels Dark Fate ignores, and if Doctor Sleep will make any sense if you haven’t seen The Shining. There are also no spoilers for either movie on air, but Kent is more than willing to spoil them off the air. Come press play with us. And press play if you want to live.

Episode 229: Pop Goes My Heart
Just for the taste of it, Baconsale has decided to rank and tier some of your favorite soft drinks! However, since there are so many sodas available today, we had to draw the line somewhere. Therefore, in this episode Kent Joel and Jacob are only going to be discussing Coke products (Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite), Shasta and a few independent brands. We also briefly recap the history of soda pop—starting way back in the 1800s, when it was considered to be a drug, until we arrive in modern times, when it’s still kind of considered to be a drug. Obey your thirst. Press play.

BaconBit: Scary Date Night with Baconsale!
This isn’t a trick, you’re getting treated to a special Halloween BaconBit! We did our Scary Date Night with Baconsale (lightning sound effect), and we’re going to talk about how it went. We are joined on this episode by Kelsey Watts, the winner of our October giveaway along with her friend, Rachel Carlson. Kelsey & Rachel joined us for dinner, where Joel stole all the rice, and then we all went to Nightmare on 13th Haunted House, where we almost froze to death and clowns smelled Kelsey’s breath. Press play to find out which of us is the biggest scaredy cat!

Episode 228: Decade Dance—Horror Movie Edition
The Halloween season and the year are winding to a close, so Baconsale is counting down the best horror films of the past decade. Kent and Joel have each picked their top ten scary movies that were released between 2010 and 2019, and they’re ready and willing to share them with you, the listener. Kent’s expresses his love for dark and disturbing slow-burn movies, whereas Joel lets you know which of his flicks need to be edited. We’re sad to see the month end, but we hope this episode will help you find some fun frights before October is over. Take a breath. Count to ten. Press play. It’s time for Baconsale.

Episode 227: World of Witchcraft
It must be the season of the witch, because Baconsale is discussing historical hags, creepy covens and spooky spell casters. This episode is all about traditional folklore, varieties of witches from around the world, and how the perception of witches has changed over the years. Kent and Joel are also here to help you and Jacob (who loves witches!) learn how to identify a person that is using witchcraft and how to protect yourself from their dark magic. Plus, as is tradition, we’ve created a lengthy list of witchy movies and will let you know if they are Baconsale-approved or not. Press play or else I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!

Episode 226: Soundtrack & Fears
Few things get us into the Halloween spirit faster than eerie music, which is why on this episode of Baconsale, we’re talking spooky soundtracks! Kent and Joel have selected spine-chilling tunes for 13 horrific categories such as Theme You Never Wanted to Hear as a Kid, Creepiest Classical Piece, Worst Song to Play on a Date, Hipster Horror Pick and Most Annoying. Along the way, Kent tries to summon a demonic presence while Joel subliminally shares a recipe for German pancakes. Press play to get your pulse racing with fear! You can also find a link to our Spotify playlist featuring these songs at Baconsale.com.

BaconBit: Goodnight, Sleepy Zombie
Kent and Joel made a book! A real-life book that people can actually purchase and read at home! It’s a children’s picture book called “Goodnight, Sleepy Zombie.” Joel came up with the idea to entertain his kids and Kent used his drawing skills to help bring it to life. . .eventually. Listen to hear how the process worked and why it took Joel over a decade to get his idea published (SPOILER ALERT: procrastination). Also, enjoy a live reading by the author, even though there are less than 50 words in the entire thing and the jokes are mostly visual. And, after you press play and listen to this BaconBit, you can find the book on Amazon by searching for “Goodnight, Sleepy Zombie” or by clicking the link on Baconsale.com.

Episode 225: Gateway Horror Movies
Let the Halloween season officially begin! Not a fan of scary movies? Well, then this episode of Baconsale is specifically for you! We’ve created a list of 13 horror films to help you ease into the genre, and hopefully give you a pleasant, yet spooky experience that will make you want to watch more. Joel chooses a bunch of softball horror-comedies to coddle our listener, whereas Kent feels like our listener is an adult who can take a little traumatizing terror in stride. Blah, blah, blah, don’t be frightened and press play, blah, blah, blah.

BaconBit: Lindsay’s Spooky Stories
After we were done recording our pumpkin spice episode, we sat down with our friend Lindsay and asked her to tell us some of her real-life supernatural experiences. Kent and Joel had heard these chilling stories last year, and really wanted her to share them with you, the listener, to set the mood for the Halloween season. WARNING: While these stories are not explicit or even violent, they are unsettling, so you may not want to listen with your kids around. #NightmareFuel Press play for tales of ghostly hands, creepy doorbells and paranormal peek-a-boo.

Episode 224: Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice
It’s autumn, which means it’s time for Baconsale to embrace the basic as we eat & drink a variety of pumpkin spice goodies. And we’ve invited a self-professed fall-flavor lover, our friend Lindsay, to join us! Kent, Joel, Jacob and Lindsay brought cookies, chips, cereal, doughnuts, cakes, salsa and more that are laced with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves and occasionally some actual pumpkin. After we try each item, we’re going to rank them and let you know which pumpkin spice products are pleasing to our palates, and which treats should be tossed in the trash. Press play, and thanks a latte for listening!

Episode 223: Snap Back to Reality
Reality TV contestants have faced brutal physical challenges, harsh living conditions and draining social interactions, but nothing can prepare them for the unbridled enthusiasm that comes from our guest this week, Mats Mudrow. Mats asked Baconsale to watch 21 reality competition programs, including Survivor, Big Brother, The Amazing Race, The Biggest Loser and a bunch we’d never heard of before. After we introduce them to you, Kent, Joel and Mats are ready to rank them as tier one, tier two or tier three. Things get a little intense at times, but what would you expect from an episode based on television shows which are fueled by drama? Press play, because we didn’t come here to make friends. We came here to Baconsale.

Episode 222: Last Comic Book Standing
Comic books—they’re not just for nerds & geeks anymore. In fact, graphic novels have been adapted into some of the highest grossing movies of all time. But there are decades of illustrated stories ready for reading, so where does one start? Well, Baconsale has brought on a special guest, Spencer Myers, to help us understand the history of comics and give some recommendations, too. Spencer & Kent geek out, Joel tries to relate while getting them to explain stuff, and Jacob tries to stay awake. Press play and then put this episode in a protective sleeve to keep it in mint condition.

Episode 221: Category Night Live
Live from the Baconcave, it’s Saturday Night! Actually this show was pre-recorded and, let’s be honest, you’re probably not listening to this on a Saturday evening. Nevertheless, on this episode of Baconsale, three wild & crazy guys are talking about the comedic TV staple that is Saturday Night Live. This show has everything: Favorite Recurring Characters, Underrated Cast Members, Best Fake Commercials, Classic SNL MVPs, Greatest Celebrity Hosts, Dan Cortese... And it’s up to Kent and Joel to pick winners from over 40 years of sketch comedy. Press play for more cowbell in a van down by the river.

Episode 220: End of 2019 Movie Preview
The summer season is officially over, which means it’s time to turn our attention to the films that will be coming out at the end of this year. Joel and Kent have each picked five movies they’re wanting to see along with five flicks they want to bomb. Kent is predictably a hipster in his choices and even selects some straight-to-streaming options, while Joel, makes some ridiculous fake picks and, at times, lets the hate flow through him. Double tap that play button—it’s time to listen to these jokers.

Episode 219: Celebrity Mix-up Match-up
Do you get Michael Cera mixed up with Jesse Eisenberg sometimes? Did you enjoy Amy Adams’ performance in Wedding Crashers? Have you ever wondered how Sawyer from Lost landed a starring role as Jaime Lannister on Game of Thrones? Well, then, this is the episode for you! Today Kent and Joel are discussing popular doppelgängers with our special guest, Steven Ross. We’ve got 20 pairs of celebrities who often get confused for one another, and we’re going to pick which twin wins each round. Look to your left, look to your right, then press play to hear about famous lookalikes.

Episode 218: We Don’t Need No Education
It’s a beautiful day in the Baconcave, a beautiful day for a podcast. Won’t you be our listener? Today on Baconsale we’re talking educational television programs for kids. This includes TV shows our children watch today as well as ones from our childhood. Can you say “nostalgia”? And, like a butterfly in the sky, Kent and Joel flit & flutter from category to category, picking good, bad and strange series for each one. Can you press play and tell me how to get to Baconsale Street?

Episode 217: What Would Baconsale Do—The Results
After listening to the previous What Would Baconsale Do episodes, everyone's favorite clinical psychologist, Dr. Matt, is back to give a final analysis of Kent, Joel and Jacob. And in order to make these findings more relatable to those three, Dr. Matt lets them know which Star Wars character they are, as well as which Disney Princess they're most like. Plus, Jacob has a few questions to ask about what would make them break off a possible engagement. Press play to hear each of us take a turn in the hot seat.

Episode 216: Love Me Tenders (and Nuggets)
If you like chicken nuggets then you gotta listen to this episode of Baconsale. Kent, Joel and Jacob have eaten chicken nuggets, chicken tenders, chicken fingers, chicken stars, chicken strips, chicken rings, chicken fries, boneless wings and popcorn chicken from 14 different fast food restaurants and they're ready to present their results. We used a matrix and math and to rank the taste, quality, breading, sauce and re-buyability of each poultry product. It's not speculation, it's Baconscience. PRESS PLAY PLEASE. A MAN NEEDS HIS NUGGS

Episode 215: Easy Kamen Rider
Amazon! On this episode of Baconsale, we would like to introduce you to the bizarre world of Kamen Rider, a popular Japanese TV show that has been running since the 1970s. Not familiar with the Kamen Rider series? Neither were we. Our special guest, Nicole, requested this episode and had Kent, Joel and Jacob watch an entire season of Amazon Riders in preparation. Join us as we try to understand the Rider mythology, level up on our geekiness and reference everything from Power Rangers to Twilight to The Walking Dead. Press play to hear us discover the worst type of starfish!

Episode 214: The Greatest Disney Hero (Tournament Finals)
What's this? It's a tale as old as time—classic animated characters fighting each other in a brutal deathmatch. And Baconsale is ready to go the distance and officially declare who the ultimate winner is in this second & final installment of our tournament of Disney heroes. But which is more powerful: Merlin's magic or Esmeralda's charms? Is Elastigirl going to stretch herself too thin? Will Ariel show Jasmine a whole new world of pain? What can we say except press play now! Print your own Baconsale Disney Hero advanced bracket at Baconsale.com.

Episode 213: Stranger Influences
Are you getting the most out of your Stranger Things viewing experience? Kent and Joel have come up with a list of eleven (get it!?) movies, books and games that have influenced the popular Netflix series and they're ready to share them with you in a very spoiler-free manner—so even if you've never seen Stranger Things, you can still listen and then properly prepare yourself. However, as they share these 80s influences and references, Jacob shares some information that shocks Baconsale to its very core. Grab some Eggo waffles, avoid the Demogorgon and press play!

BaconBit: Stranger Things – Season 3 Review
We've all had enough time to finish the latest season of Netflix's Stranger Things, right? Good. Let's talk about it. During this BaconBit, we'll do our best to stay focused on season three and not talk about the series as a whole—we're saving that for another time. And we'll also keep the first part of this review spoiler-free, so even if you haven't finished it yet (like Jacob) you can still hear and appreciate our overall thoughts and feelings about our most recent journey to Hawkins, Indiana. Press play to join Kent, Joel, Jacob, Joyce, Hopper, Mike, Eleven, Dustin, Lucas, Will, Max, Nancy, Jonathan, Steve, Billy and Robin as we dive, once again, into the Upside Down.

Episode 212: Tournament of Disney Heroes
Have you ever wondered who would win in a fight between Tarzan and Maui? Does a tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff stand a chance against an inflatable personal healthcare companion? Well, Baconsale has pitted some of your favorite Disney heroes against one another in a no-holds-barred tournament to the death. However, we're only going one jump ahead on the bracket in this episode, so be sure to check out our upcoming tournament finals for these beloved animated characters. Press play to hear Cinderella tangle with Rapunzel and see if Judy Hopps gets the jump on Peter Pan! Download your own bracket at Baconsale.com and play along.

BaconBit: Spider-Man: Far From Home Review
Security around this movie was pretty tight, but Kent and Joel managed to see it and are now ready to present to you their thoughts on Spider-Man: Far From Home. Joel predicts Kent's review, Kent predicts Joel's review, and then they both discuss how they actually felt about the final film in Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Will Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) charm them? Will Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) impress them? Will Jacob (Jacob Rogers) be on this episode? Press play to find out! And if you haven't seen it yet, don't worry, the first part is spoiler free.

Episode 211: What Would Jacob-sale Do?
It's been over two years since our last What Would Baconsale Do episode, but this time around there's a twist! Everyone's favorite clinical psychologist, Dr. Matt is here to deliver the questions and analyze the answers, and his sights seem to be set on the mysterious mind of Jacob. Plus, Dr. Matt makes Kent and Joel compete to see who knows Jacob better. Play along as we answer revealing questions about shopping carts, superpowers, desert islands, Universal movie monsters, chocolate, Disney princesses, bathroom sandwiches and TV moms. Press play. The doctor will see you now.

Episode 210: The Test of Time—Comedy Edition
Some films don't age well. Some are better left to memory. But Baconsale is going to try an experiment. We're going to watch four movies that we haven't seen in a long time, specifically Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989), So I Married an Axe Murderer (1993), Billy Madison (1995) and What about Bob?(1991). We'll then discuss if these classic comedies still hold up after all these years. Will we be able to remain impartial & objective? Or will this be a nostalgia-fueled walk down memory lane? Press play to find out!

BaconBit: The History of D&D with Kyler
Kyler is a historian. History is his passion. Therefore, during our show earlier this week, he had a lot to say about how Dungeons & Dragons became the behemoth it currently is. However, since that episode already ran a little long, we decided to cut that part out and we are now presenting it to you as its own BaconBit. We hope you enjoy this lesson on the history of fantasy role-playing games. Press play. Class is about to begin.

Episode 209: Dungeon Master of the House
Hearken, yon listener, and witness the tale of Baconsale! Kevros Darkeyes, Jamkas Laughshield and Jamben Sapphiredge are ready to embark on their first quest ever into the realm of Dungeons & Dragons. They are guided (tormented?) through this introductory journey into role-playing games by their guest, Dungeon Master Kyler. We hope you enjoy the occasionally dark adventures of a half-elf rogue, a gnome bard and a dragonborn ranger who battle supernatural enemies and occasionally each other. Roll the dice, press play and listen to our crash course in D&D.

BaconBit: Men in Black: International Review
Here comes the Men in Black review. Kent & Joel are putting on their dark suits and sunglasses to tell you their feelings about this sequel/spin-off/reboot. Is Tessa Thompson the next Will Smith? Can Chris Hemsworth pull off a non-Thor role? Or does the whole experience just feel kind of alien to Baconsale? Even if you haven't seen the movie, don't worry, the first half of this BaconBit is spoiler free. Now if you could just press play while looking directly into this neuralyzer, we'd appreciate it.

Episode 208: Summer Movie Belly Flops
We had so much fun talking summer blockbusters last week on Baconsale that we decided to look at the flip side, the summer flops. Once again, we've created 16 categories, including Flop You Loved as a Child, Film that Killed the Franchise, Worst Adaptation, Needs a Sequel and Biggest Flop of All Time. Kent and Joel have to pick a winner for each one, and even though there are dozens of options out there, they still manage to match on a few choices. Press play to hear all about famous bombs at the box office.

BaconBit: Dark Phoenix Review
JEEEEEEEAN! Three years have passed since Baconsale reviewed X-Men: Apocalypse. During that time, many had forgotten that this rebooted series was still making movies. But Dark Phoenix has arisen in theaters, causing many to wonder if this will be the resurgence of mutant film greatness, or if it will leave the franchise in a pile of burning ashes. And, as always, the first part of our BaconBit review is spoiler free. Press play to hear if Kent's and Joel's reviews are in cosmic harmony.

Episode 207: Blockbuster Videos
When the weather's fine, we've got summer blockbusters on our mind. We've created sixteen categories, such as Best Soundtrack, Surprise Hit, Biggest Letdown, Most Mind-Blowing Visual Effects, Best Lead Actress and, yes, Greatest of All Time. Kent and Joel probably stressed about their answers more than they should have, and they're worried about giving too many "primary answers," but we hope you enjoy this episode all about some of the biggest movies in cinematic history. Pop some popcorn, shut off your brain a little and press play to hear this explosion-fueled, CGI-laden episode of Baconsale!

BaconBit: Godzilla: King of the Monsters Review
Hail to the king, baby! On this BaconBit, Jacob and Kent are reviewing Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Joel didn't see it, but he's never been wowed by a Godzilla movie anyway. And, as per usual, we tend to get sidetracked as we talk about the history of Godzilla and monster movies in general. Will Kent and Jacob let the child inside of them enjoy a film about giant monsters fighting each other? Or will their cynicism get in the way? Press play! And don't fear, the first 15 minutes are spoiler free.

Episode 206: GoT Game of Thrones?
Valar morghulis! On this episode of Baconsale, we're discussing a small, hipster TV series you probably haven't heard of: Game of Thrones. Kent is a big fan of the show, Joel watched the entire thing once (edited) and Jacob gave up after the first season. However, this episode is NOT a scene-by-scene breakdown of the story. In fact, it's pretty spoiler-free (and family friendly). Instead, we're talking to those people who HAVEN'T watched this cultural phenomenon, and we're asking the question, "why not?" We hope you enjoy this introduction to the world of Westeros. Press play to finally understand what people mean when they say, "Winter is coming."

BaconBit: Aladdin (2019) Review
Make way for Fresh Prince Ali! We're ready to review one of the latest cash-grabs, er, we mean live-action remakes of a Disney animated classic. This time, however, it was Jacob and Kent who saw the new movie, while Joel didn't. Will Naomi Scott's performance as Jasmine charm the guys? Or will Will Smith's blue CGI face get in the way? And, if for some reason, you're worried about spoilers, don't worry—the first 10 minutes are spoiler-free. Press play, because you ain't never heard a BaconBit like this!

Episode 205: Pet Shop Tiers
It's finally time for the episode the listener has been waiting for: Baconsale is tiering pets! Please. Contain your excitement. We're taking 22 domesticated animals (Wait! 23! We totally forgot about monkeys!) and ranking them as a Tier 1, Tier 2 or Tier 3 pet. We also share some stories about our history with pets. Jacob feels rodents are useless, Joel thinks horses are a little creepy, and somehow every discussion ends up relating to Kent's dating life. Press play to hear us argue like cats and dogs!

BaconBit: Baconsale Burger Wrap-Up
Again, we have no idea how this actually happened, but people actually showed up to meet us at our From Scratch event this past Saturday. Actually, most of the people came for the free Baconsale Burger, but we were still happy to see them. And on this BaconBit, we'll discuss behind-the-scenes thoughts, our experiences meeting the listener, and possible events in the future. Oh, and we recorded your shout-outs and will be playing them at the end of the show. Press play to hear how Kent, Joel and Jacob feel it all went.

Episode 204: Illuminati Confirmed!
Now what Baconsale is about to say may sound a little crazy, but today we're talking about conspiracy theories with our guest, Scott Sprague. And the truths we're exposing in this episode cover everything from Home Alone to royal vampires to celebrity clones to child abductions. It's all connected! WARNING! This subject matter gets pretty heavy at times, especially when we're discussing true crimes like the case of JonBenét Ramsey. It's not explicit, but it's definitely intense, and Joel feels obligated to try and lighten the mood with dad jokes. So put on your tinfoil hats and press play!

Episode 203: 2019 Summer Movie Preview
Now that the Endgame has ended, it's time for Baconsale to talk about the other movies coming out this summer. Kent wants you to appreciate his hipster film picks, Joel seems to have a grudge against Disney, and Jacob audibly judges both of them. Also, for the sake of the children, whenever potentially questionable words are brought up, the guys try S-P-E-L-ling them out. However, sometimes that makes the word sound even less family friendly. Whoops. Press play and allow us to cinematically guide you through May to August of 2019.

Episode 202: Across the Marvel Cinematic Universe
The Infinity Saga has reached its conclusion, therefore it's time for Baconsale to rank all 22 films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe from worst to best. Kent, Joel and Jacob have combined their individual rankings into one Baconsale-approved list and now they have to live with the consequences. Joel will try his best to keep Kent and Jacob from being too negative, but it's an uphill battle. And while there are spoilers for some of the older movies, don't worry, we banished all the spoilers for Avengers: Endgame to our BaconBit review of that film. Press play and play along as we take a stroll down Marvel memory lane.

BaconBit: Avengers: Endgame Review
Since Avengers: Endgame is over three hours long, we decided that we could make this BaconBit a little longer than normal. The first 15 minutes are spoiler-free, but then we get into what happens in this film, who lives, who dies and which plot points don't make a lot of sense (wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff). Will this finally be the Marvel movie that wins Kent over? Or will it simply confirm what he's always felt about this franchise? Avenge the fallen. Press play.

Episode 201: We Need to Talk About Kate
We've talked about the lovely and talented Ms. Kate Beckinsale many times on Baconsale, but we've never really discussed her movies...until now! Join Kent, Joel and Jacob as they tell her story in their thick and sultry voices, and then rank her top five and bottom five films. We even got up on our tiptoes to find a film that Ms. Beckinsale would probably like to forget about. *insert creepy laugh here* Press play to hear Kate Beckinsale introduce a Baconsale episode about Kate Beckinsale.

BaconBit: The Baconsale Burger
We have no idea how this actually happened, but we invented a hamburger that they're actually going to serve at an actual restaurant in Salt Lake called From Scratch. And you'll be able to get your actual hands on The Baconsale Burger for FREE during our event on May 11, 2019—all you have to do is download the GrubPass app and show it to an employee when you order that day. Plus, Kent, Joel and Jacob will be hanging out at From Scratch from 4 - 6 p.m. (MDT), so come join us for some free food and quasi-enjoyable conversation. Now press play to hear all the juicy details, including a live taste test of vegan pasta. Wait, what?

BaconBit: Team Listener vs. Team JK (2019)
We couldn't let our contestants leave the Baconcave without taking on the UNDEFEATED Team JK in a pop culture trivia battle. Newly crowned Listener Spencer leads the pack, with Jonathan and Listener Emeritus Adrienne by his side. But will Team JK be able to churn out another win? Or will Jacob's buzzers and oddly paced reading get in their way? Find out by pressing play!

Episode 200: Our 200th Episode!
Wow! Baconsale has done 200 episodes? That's insane! And speaking of insanity, we're letting Jacob run the show today as Adrienne, Spencer and Jonathan battle it out to see who will become The Listener for the next year. He's got around 86 rounds of "fun" ready for our contestants, including a fast-food taste test, musical lyric trivia and guessing what's in Kent's & Joel's hearts. We'd like to give special thanks to the Reverse Listener for helping with the questions, and to you, the listener, for joining us for the past 200 episodes. We wouldn't have been able to do it without you. Now stop reading this episode blurb and press play already!

Episode 199: Elevator Pitch Perfect
Ding! Imagine you're on an elevator with a movie studio executive and you want to pitch them an idea in the limited amount of time you have on the ride up. That's the premise for today's episode of Baconsale. Kent and Joel have picked some of the fake film titles you submitted, and they must create an original pitch for each one. And then it's up to Jacob to decide which pitches are greenlit, which he does seemingly at random. Join us as we cross genres, mix actors, select directors and generally have fun making up strange stories based on your suggestions. Press the button for the top floor and then press play.

BaconBit: Shazam! Review
SHAZAM! Kent and Joel left Jacob behind to see the latest DC film starring Zachary Levi as Captain Marvel, er, we mean Shazam. Kent even saw the movie twice, but does that mean that he liked it? Or is he just a glutton for punishment? Listen to hear if the cheesy jokes and lighthearted tone worked for us here at Baconsale. And don't worry if you haven't seen the movie yet, you can still listen to the first half of this episode, which is spoiler-free. Now press play so that our powers may flow through you.

Episode 198: Gettin' Ghibli Wit It
ようこそ! Today on Baconsale we're discussing anime! No, not the weird kind you're thinking of right now, but rather the very accessible (yet still somewhat unusual) movies of Studio Ghibli—one of the most successful animation studios in the world. Our guest, Kris Anderson, challenged Joel and Kent to watch all 21 of their feature films, which they've done, and we're ready to tier them and talk about Japanese folklore, Hayao Miyazaki, aviation, Totoro, fantasy stories and shape-shifting raccoons. Please honor our podcast by pressing the play button.

Episode 197: The Greatest Sports Movie of All Time (Tournament Finals)
It feels like we've been making you wait for-e-ver, but Baconsale is gonna fly now and finally declare the winner of our sports movie tournament. We've also brought on the KSL Newsradio sports director, Alex Kirry, to help us go the distance. He'll have you at "Hello." And if we don't pick your favorite, don't cry, because there's no crying in brackets! Wax on. Wax off. Then press play. And you can print off your own advanced bracket at Baconsale.com and play along.
