A great goal by Callum Hudson-Odoi was the only real moment of quality in a scrappy game that was epitomised by Phillip Billing's red card for a nasty challenge on the Reds winger. Forest had conceded an early goal in a slow start, and after the late sending off, will feel that they should have got more from the game. A defeat that wasn't that surprising on paper, but was disappointing in practice as mistakes at the back (yes, including another one from Matt Turner) cost the Reds two goals. Hmm. After the high of the victories over Newcastle and Man Utd, Forest were almost brought crashing down to earth when they fell two goals down at home to League One Blackpool in the first half an hour, with ex-Red Jordan Gabriel scoring the first (and refusing to celebrate). The sporting weekend was overshadowed by the sudden and tragic death of Panthers forward Adam Johnson, and all of us here at 1865 send our condolences to Adam's nearest and dearest. On the pitch, Forest were very much second best and were never in danger of getting their first win at Anfield since 1969. It started badly when Steve Cooper confirmed that Chris Wood would be injured for a few weeks, just as he was coming into form, and Forest had no recognised attackers. Two goals in four minutes put the Reds behind, with a comedy third conceded as Matt Turner lost his head. It ended up honours even in a game that was last on Match of the Day, but Forest will be a bit disappointed not to have taken all three points after creating the better chances. A fabulous result for Steve Cooper's Reds, as substitute Antony Elanga calmly slotted home on the break after good work by Mangala, Yates and Awoniyi to win the ball and set the winger free.
