Kevin Grevioux is a screenwriter, producer, actor and a graphic novel creator who has 20 years experience in the film industry. Kevin talks about the importance of having a diversifyied plan to be successful in movies and writing. After graduating Howard University with a degree in microbiology, Grevioux came to Hollywood where he acted in several films including, Alien Nation, The Mask, Congo, Batman Forever, Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes, The Hulk and Men In Black II. Kevin also co-created and wrote the original screenplay to the successful Underworld franchise, which was his first produced writing credit. He was also a co-producer on the film series and played the character RAZE. Grevioux has just completed production on his latest film from a screenplay he wrote I, Frankenstein produced by Lakeshore Entertainment. It was based on his original graphic novel. In addition, Grevioux is a prolific writer in the comic book/graphic novel world. He has worked for both Marvel and DC Comics having written such characters as Spider-Man, Blade, Iron Man, Batman, Superman, the Phantom and the critically acclaimed Adam: Legend of the Blue Marvel for Marvel which he created. He has established an independent creator-owned comic book/graphic novel company called Darkstorm Studios. Under this imprint Kevin has created ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction, I, Frankenstein, Monstroids, Shurika, Skull & Guns, The Gray Men, Alius Rex and Battlesphere. Sukesha Elizabeth Ray, otherwise known as “Sushi” to most, is not who you would call your average artist. She not only wields a pencil, but also a microphone. A dual talent in the game of art and music, she transcends the line of both. Born in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Sukesha always dreamed big. It all started with her doodles when she was a child. She drew over all of her notebooks, sketching characters that inspired her. When she was little, her father bought her her first video game for Christmas: Sonic Adventure 2, which later ended up sparking Sukesha's love for anime, manga, and Japanese pop culture. Her senior year in high school, she built her own business and started travelling the world with her art, selling it at pop culture conventions as well as online. But Sukesha didn’t stop there. She found herself in an uncanny path. From her art burst forth her music career. She was discovered one late night in a club in Miami. She was at an art event, promoting her work. A producer pulled her aside and gave her inspiration as well as taught her the ins and outs of the industry. He even believed in her as a singer enough to train her for many months. She worked hard, and didn’t let anyone stop her. Two years later, Sukesha was able to sign three deals with Warner Music, with her first music video already reaching 100,000 views in a short amount of time. Sukesha hopes that her artwork and music will influence the world. She has a strong will to share it with as many people as possible, and to bring a smile to the faces of everyone. Ryan Claytor is the Coordinator of the Comic Art and Graphic Novel Minor and Assistant Professor at Michigan State University where he teaches Comics Studio courses and spearheaded the development of the interdisciplinary Comic Art and Graphic Novel minor between the Art and English departments. Claytor’s achievements have included six S.P.A.C.E. (Small Press and Alternative Comics Expo) Prizes , including 1st place in the mini-comics category (28pgs or less), 1st place in the General category (29-55pgs), and 1st place in the Graphic Novel category (56pgs or more), for his work in comics, a Cartoonist in Residence position at the Cartoon Art Museum, visiting lecturerships at the Dallas Museum of Art , The Center for Cartoon Studies, and The Savannah College of Art and Design, an internship with Marvel Comics, and judging the Will Eisner Spirit of Comics Retailing Award. In 2009, Claytor had a featured exhibition of his work in San Francisco’s Cartoon Art Museum and Claytor began teaching the first comics studio course in Michigan State University‘s history. Claytor has put together a a 250 page outline of Ryan's 20-year growth as an artist, is an outgrowth of his interest in sharing artistic processes and demystifying making.
