HOW TO MAXIMIZE YOUR TEAM'S ACCOUNTABILITY

Stacy Tuschl is a speaker, business coach, and the owner of The Academy of Performing Arts in Wisconsin. She is the author of the book "Is Your Business Worth Saving?" where she reveals proven strategies for pulling entrepreneurs out of a rut and launching them toward business success. Welcome back to another episode of the Foot Traffic podcast!! I have so many small business owners who come to me and say negative things like, "My team is just not performing!" or "My team is not bringing value the way I know they should." And more often than not, I have to be brutally honest and tell them I need them to change before they can even think to see their team change. I let them know there are several things I need them to do to start showing up and really be the leader that they need to be. There's this phrase that says, "If a flower doesn't bloom it's not the flower's fault, it's the environment." Now, disclaimer: Yes, there will be a few times when someone slips through the cracks and you hired the wrong person. But that is not what I see most often. Typically, with just a few tweaks in the environment of your team, you will see massive changes to their behavior and action. And that's exactly what we are talking about today. Here are a few highlights you won't want to miss: "If you want your people to be more accountable..." at 4:51 Stacy tells you the #1 question to ask yourself when determining if you are holding your team accountable. She explains the importance of your company's org chart so your employees know their role, the manager's roles and who is responsible for every aspect of the business. "Assess what they are up to..." at 7:52 Stacy talks about what activity you should be doing every quarter with your team to ensure productivity and accountability. She discusses what her team does quarterly, monthly, weekly and shares how to set specific KPI's for every individual. "Setting bad boundaries make people think it's okay..." at 14:08 Stacy discusses how to get your team to stop constantly reaching out to you about things you don't need to know. She shares what happens with her team and how to make team members accountable for their actions. Last week we discussed 7 strategies to hold yourself accountable! If you happened to miss that episode, I would click here and go listen right away. Today's episode we are going to talk about holding your team accountable, which truly begins with you leading by example and holding yourself accountable. So, I highly recommend you go listen to that episode first! P.S. Did you hear about our free Foot Traffic Workshop happening February 10-14, 2020. ENTREPRENEUR ROUNTABLE WITH Office Depot

There are a few places where I feel special, dare I say even "famous". They aren't places you would expect. One being Office Depot. I walk in, wait in line at the print department and the employee says, "Stacy, I will be right with you." The people in front of me look back to check out who I am and then look forward completely unphased. Office Depot doesn't know me as a Small Business Guru or the Wisconsin Small Business Person of the Year. Nope. They know me as someone who prints stuff. A lot. At Office Depot. Now I don't go in as much because my team does but I bet they feel the exact same way. When the Office Depot brand reached out to see if I would like to come on their podcast, I was beyond excited and today I am going to bring you that conversation because it was so good! Big Disclaimer: This episode is not just for those who shop or print at Office Depot! It is for the Small Business Owner! This episode is for all small business owners and we will be talking all things business, branding, LinkedIn, holiday promotions (not just Christmas) and how we can leverage all holidays to grow our business). I have to be honest, I was extremely impressed with Office Depot. I got to hear a little bit of the behind the scenes and they are really innovating and keeping up with the times! They are truly focused on not getting stuck in old ways, and they are working at growing and evolving as a business every single day. Here are a few highlights you won't want to miss: "We are heavily using..." at 5:39 I share the two social platforms my brick and mortar business is getting the best results on right now. "You need to always be thinking about the end consumer..." at 6:30 LinkedIn expert, Brittany Krystle share the #1 thing to think about when choosing your social platform. She also shares her personal favorite platforms and where you should have your business. "How do you get them in the door..." at 13:29 we chat all about how to get specific on your language to your ideal market. "Maximizing your time..." at 35:50 we discuss what Office Depot does to increase efficiency for their customers in both the online and brick and mortar spaces. P.S.Did you hear? I'm really excited to be interviewing Tonya Dalton today who is the founder of inkWELLPress Productivity Company and the author of her book, The Joy of Missing Out. "We chase this illusion of balance and it truly does not exist..." At minute 18:16, we're talking about putting quantity over quality. Are you doing things with intention? How Using These Simple Techniques And Strategies Can Skyrocket Your Business With Ralphie Jacobs

Welcome back to another episode of Foot Traffic! Today I am excited because I have a special guest joining me on the podcast who I actually discovered on Instagram! Now, I would like to introduce you to Ralphie Jacobs. Ralphie lives in Austin, TX with her husband and 4 daughters and as an early childhood education expert she quickly learned that the best way to impact a child's life for good is to teach parents, which is what led her to found @simplyonpurpose. Upon discovering her Instagram account, I was immediately intrigued! Intrigued by her mission and teachings of course...but also intrigued by her thriving business. Her live events were selling out in under an hour and she had no website. Not only that, in about 2 years she has grown to a following of over 180k! I can't wait for you to hear how she has gone back to the basics and used simple techniques and strategies to skyrocket her business. "I started teaching on Instagram stories and giving content..." At minute 2:47, hear how Ralphie started, her story and how Simply On Purpose came to be. Did she know this was going to turn into a business or did she think it would stay a passion? "One of the big struggles for me is to remind myself that I'm in charge..." At 10:00, hear the moment Ralphie thought this could really be something and realized it was no longer a hobby. 4 Tips To Move Your Business Forward Faster

Welcome back to another episode of Foot Traffic! Sometimes we have to do things we don't enjoy now, to get to the benefit (or where we want to go) later. We live in a world of instant gratification. If it doesn't bring immediate satisfaction or results, we don't want to do it. For someone like me who is a doer, this is extremely hard, however, I am now reaping the rewards! And in the long run, I am moving my business forward faster and more efficiently. "Don't you do things everyday that you don't really want to do so your business can thrive?..." At minute 0:40, I'm reflecting on what worked and what didn't work for our latest launch of the Foot Traffic Formula. Hear how every idea I come up with I think is the most amazing but why that's not always a good thing and how advice from a coach mentor or someone on your team is necessary plus the proper timing. "Not trying to sell but really trying to understand..." At 5:19, I'm sharing my second tip which is listening to our customers. This can be SO powerful to build those connections, showing that you care and you're here to help. Not only that, but making sure we invest time to the right customer. "You have to start moving forward, taking action..." At minute 9:42, let's talk about indecisiveness and what to do when our customers can't decide if your product or program is what they need. Plus, why we need to stop playing the victim role and understand that we will get burned during entrepreneurship but that doesn't mean to stop taking action or risks. "It's not going to happen if you're not willing to make those sacrifices..." At minute 15:14, we're talking about taking consistent action and holding ourselves accountable. On Air Coaching With Nellie Corriveau

Today I'm doing an on-air coaching call with one of my past client's from The Foot Traffic Formula, Nellie Corriveau from Be Positively You! The biggest takeaway from this conversation was that she's having really great results but she didn't just jump into the program and magically get these results. Nellie is really taking action and making these things happen by taking action. I hope this episode inspires you to take action after hearing from Nellie! "Start with a number and you can grow..." At minute 0:41, Nellie tells us about her business and herself before we dive in! Hear her #1 source of income and her best selling program which leads us into a conversation about pricing. "Everything is aligning and it's really exciting to see..." At 8:40, Nellie shares the one thing that feels out of alignment. We dive into one of her weaknesses and talk about the growth of her team to figure out how we can free up more of her time to move her business forward and make sure she's working on her business not in it. "I get to do some work on this..." At minute 15:15, we're talking all about Facebook ads and how we have to pay to play. Plus, hear her strategy to how she has grown her list organically. "I want everyone to be happy including me and my business and my family..." At 21:55, I'm giving Nellie advice on starting a new DIY program and her questions as she heads into a relaunch of her program. If you want to connect more with Nellie head over to her website here!
