Mitch is from Burlington, Iowa and, with help from a friend, decided to be a Hawkeye over a Cyclone after his Junior year of Football. He went on to become a Freshman All American, a 1st Team All American his senior year, and racked up plenty of tackles and awards in between. Steve is from Crofton, MD and joined the 2013 Iowa Football recruiting class as a Fullback out of Archbishop Spalding HS as a fellow Walkon. One of those unsung heroes Steve didn't see any action on the field but busted his ass day in and day out as an Iowa Hawkeye behind the scenes, and after our 4th season hung up the cleats for the career that he said he would always pursue, and is fully enveloped in today, Pro Wrestling. Steve tells us about his journey in the wrestling world over the last 7 years going from shows in front of a couple of people for 5 dollars a night, to now wrestling multiple times a weekend in front of crowds 500 people deep all across the country and internationally as well. The Hawks defeated UConn in dramatic fashion in the Final Four to advance and take on South Carolina in the National Title game. Justin is from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He was one of the 5 Asst. Strength Coaches during the Walkons time in Iowa City, from 2013 to 2017. As we graduated and left the program he did some of the same as he was hired as the Head Strength Coach at Towson University out East. Danny is from New Lenox, Illinois and attended Providence Catholic High School, which is also Kevin's alma mater. He actually helped coach special teams for PC Kevin's senior year. Danny found his way on to the team by attending the Iowa Special teams summer camp, and having a self confidence like no other. Dallas was born in Sioux Falls, SD and was a stand out athlete in basically every sport he could play at Twin River Valley High School. He was recruited by Hayden Frye and ended up Greyshirting in Hayden's last year, joining the program officially after KF stepped in for the 1999 season. He faced multiple injuries and setbacks in his first couple seasons but made his way onto special teams in 2000 where he was able to make an impact. He was initially playing Linebacker, and was moved to Tight End where we finished his last 2 seasons for the Hawks. His senior year he won the Mackey award for the nations best tight end, and was drafted 24th overall to the Colts the following spring. Dallas spent over a decade in the NFL, mostly in Indianapolis, and is considered one of the best Tight Ends to ever play the game. Today Dallas has his hand is dozens of projects and ventures and is still very active as a Hawkeye, coming back to Iowa City to help with the program and produce events like the concert in Kinnick circa 2015. Cooper is from Odebolt, Iowa. After absolutely dominating high school sports in Iowa, including being a star in Football, Basketball, and Track, he chose Iowa Football as his future. He played Quarterback in high school and wanted to in college as well, and he talks about the reason he ended up on the Defense. As Iowa fans know, Cooper established himself as one of the greatest all around athletes for Iowa Football in the history of the program. He's now been training for the 2024 NFL draft after declaring early back in January. He will likely be a 1st round pick, and he talks about how crazy it is coming from small town Iowa to be thrust onto the big stage. We talk about the injury that ended last years season early for him, the opportunity for him to play Offense for a few plays, and what his Combine training has looked like so far. Brody is from Ankeny, Iowa. Stud high school athlete, he was offered scholarships by both Iowa Baseball and Football, and that's what brought him to Iowa City as he was most interested in being a 2 sport athlete. He is now the Ace for the Hawkeye baseball team in his Junior year, and is considered the 17th best Pro prospect in America. Spencer is from San Rafael, California. Originally committed to Oregon State, Spencer eventually found his way to Iowa City to become a Hawkeye. He spent 6 years inside the Iowa program backing up Nate Stanley in '18 and '19, Starting at QB in '20, '21, and '22, and assisting in a GA like role this past season in 2023. Mike is an incredible guy with a lot going on in his life. For the last 16 years he has been the drummer for the popular Iowa born cover band Pork Tornadoes.
