Ep 56HE TORTURED HIS BLACKMAILER | Ep 56 | Kristofer Warden Part 1

Ep 55DRUG INDUCED KILLING | Ep 55 | Ronald Wright

In this episode, we bring you a story of one man’s 10-year struggle with methamphetamine. In 2008, Ronald Wright murdered a 70-year-old war veteran while experiencing the psychotic effects of meth. Although Ronald, now sober, is horrified by his past actions, his defense that he was not in his right state of mind fell on deaf ears. As we’re about to hear, all information about drug-induced psychosis was excluded from Ronald’s trials, and news articles at the time painted him as a vicious monster who deserved to be locked away for a long time. Ep 52They Edited the Evidence | Ep 52 | Kent Taylor

We place our trust in the criminal justice system to carry out the law and bring about justice. But what happens if an agent of the law withholds key evidence and presents edited video footage to the jury to gain a wrongful conviction? Today, we talk to Kent Taylor who makes allegations such as these, claiming that the course of justice was perverted when he was convicted of first-degree murder back in 2011. To this day, Kent has fought to overturn his conviction and fought for his voice to be heard. This episode gives Kent the platform to recount the events of his case and detail his concerns with the trial that convicted him. Just as Kent’s defense team is gearing up for his final appeal, we revisit the evidence that landed him behind bars in the first place. Ep 5014-Year Old Killer | Ep 50 | William Dyer Part 1

One rainy evening in 1977, Camden County police entered a lake cabin in the Ozarks, where they found what can only be described as a blood bath. Four young children lay slaughtered inside their family home, stabbed, shot, and beaten in various ways, and strewn across the house. But while police initially profiled the culprit as a young adult man, little did they know that the real killer, who lived a few doors down, was only a 14-year-old boy. Billy joins us to revisit the crime that rattled a quiet Ozark community and traumatized a young family. This two-part story will be difficult to listen to and even harder to begin to understand. But as we probe this case, we seek the answer to one question that can only be given by Billy Dyer: why did he do it? More information about this case:Newspaper Clipping about William’s Trial | Classmate testifies at Camdenton hearing: 'Couldn't wait to open fire' | The Sedalia DemocratArticle about the Swift Family | Not on her life will this killer go free | Tampa Bay Times Article about the Impact of the Killings on the Swift Family | Faith & Soul: Pastor’s slain grandchildren brought him closer to God | LakeExpo Access exclusive unseen and unheard material via our Patreon:www.patreon.com/voicesofakillerIf you enjoyed this episode then please either:Follow, rate, and review on Apple PodcastsFollow and rate on SpotifyWatch our videos on the Voices of a Killer YouTube Channel!Connect with us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!Listen to more episodes via the Voices of a Killer Website! Ep 46BREAKING BAD GONE WRONG | Ep 46 | William Benedict

On today’s episode, we meet William Benedict, a man whose life has been rocked by both meth and mental illness. This episode takes us back to the 2010s, when a thriving meth scene in Missouri was curtailed by the law. Around the same time as this crackdown, William Benedict found himself implicated in an operation that seriously threatened the safety of his family. Today, William walks us through the events that followed that eventually culminated in his incarceration in a Missouri jail. We’ll hear about the lasting impact of intergenerational mental illness and William’s complex dynamic with the victim of this crime, somebody who brought both stability and chaos into his family home. While personal and tragic, this episode also critically examines the flaws in media representation and sketches the landscape of small-scale meth production that still haunts the state of Missouri today.More information about this case:News about William’s Sentencing | Bunker man gets 25 years for shooting man who tried to talk him out of suicide | MissourinetNews about William’s Arrest | Man arrested for murder in Reynolds Co. | KVFS 12Access exclusive unseen and unheard material via our Patreon:www.patreon.com/voicesofakillerIf you enjoyed this episode then please either:Follow, rate, and review on Apple PodcastsFollow and rate on SpotifyWatch our videos on the Voices of a Killer YouTube Channel!Connect with us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!Listen to more episodes via the Voices of a Killer Website! Ep 45Prison Break & Tragedy | Ep 45 | Justin Moyers

E

In this episode of Voices of a Killer, we’re looking at a prolonged case that unfolded over nearly a decade. We sit down with Justin Moyers to reflect on an incident for which he has spent the past 18 years of his life in prison. Still today, Justin vehemently maintains his innocence and has tried repeatedly to clear his name. He contends that investigators spun a false narrative that wrongly framed him as a killer. This case sheds light on some systemic flaws in the US criminal justice system, such as the bias faced by those who have prior criminal convictions, and the twisting of evidence to suit a story. Although criminal cases involving children elicit strong emotion, we invite you to approach Justin’s story with an open mind and review the facts of the case objectively for yourself. So join us as we unpack the events of the crime, Justin’s path in and out of prison, and the court battle that determined the fate of a young man’s life. More information about this case:News about Appeal | STATE v. Ep 43A Dangerous Love Triangle? | Ep 43 | Gabriella Shields Part 1

In June 2014, Christopher Younes was murdered in the Mark Twain National Forest in Missouri, a crime that implicated Gabriella Shields with two other accomplices, Albert Romero, and Timothy Murray. The case unfolded with evidence from text messages, surveillance footage, and witness statements, detailing the chilling plot and execution of Younes' murder, highlighting the brutal end to a life entangled in a web of crime and betrayal. However there is a dark cloud over what really happened that day. Ep 41Craiglist Killer | Ep 41 | Tayelor Fitzpatrick

In this week’s episode of Voices of a Killer, we bring you a story of an ill-fated friendship in the heart of Kansas City. Our interviewee, Tayelor Fitzpatrick found herself unwittingly entangled in a 2017 murder that took place in her home and that began with a click on an advert on Craigslist. In recent years, Craigslist has become a hotspot for a thriving sex industry. It has also – as we’ll hear about today – attracted a host of scammers. The unfortunate victim of this case, Michael Luckey, fell prey to one of these scams that lured him from his Osawatomie home to Kansas City and, tragically, ended the young man’s life. Today, Tayelor gives us her insider’s perspective on this series of events. This is a cautionary tale about the dangers of trusting the wrong people and a look into the moral ambiguity of being a bystander during a violent crime.Voices of a Killer is sponsored by BetterHelp: Visit BetterHelp.com/VOK today to get 10% off your first month 👈More information about this case:News about Tayelor’s Arrest | Suspects arrested on murder charges | Republic OnlineNews About the Discovery of the Body | Death in wooded Kansas City area investigated as homicide  | KSHBAccess exclusive unseen and unheard material via our Patreon:www.patreon.com/voicesofakillerIf you enjoyed this episode then please either:Follow, rate, and review on Apple PodcastsFollow and rate on SpotifyWatch our videos on the Voices of a Killer YouTube Channel!Connect with us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!Listen to more episodes via the Voices of a Killer Website! Ep 33AN ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING? | Ep 33 | Timothy Straeten

In this episode of Voices of a Killer, we delve deep into the tragic murder of south Kansas City, Missouri local Patricia Bliven, a kind-hearted animal lover, and the subsequent events that ensnared Timothy Straeten, a man from Harrington Texas, in a web of crime and punishment. But there’s another layer to this story, one that involves the media's portrayal of Timothy.
