Show Notes
In this episode of Voices of a Killer, we’re looking at a prolonged case that unfolded over nearly a decade. We sit down with Justin Moyers to reflect on an incident for which he has spent the past 18 years of his life in prison. Still today, Justin vehemently maintains his innocence and has tried repeatedly to clear his name. He contends that investigators spun a false narrative that wrongly framed him as a killer. This case sheds light on some systemic flaws in the US criminal justice system, such as the bias faced by those who have prior criminal convictions, and the twisting of evidence to suit a story. Although criminal cases involving children elicit strong emotion, we invite you to approach Justin’s story with an open mind and review the facts of the case objectively for yourself. So join us as we unpack the events of the crime, Justin’s path in and out of prison, and the court battle that determined the fate of a young man’s life.
