Plastic Stone and Other Ancient Wonders

It is unfortunate that we so often have the sense that nothing technologically important has happened in human history until modern times. REF.: Patton, Robert. 1982. Ooparts. Omni, v. 4. p. 53. Photo: The Gate of the Sun - PD © 2023 Creation Moments. All rights reserved.

Cyclops Ear

All insects that hear, except one, have two ears. Some insects have ears on their legs, thorax, or abdomen. However, they all follow the same principle. Their ears are separated so that they can locate the source of the sound - except in one insect. REF.: Miller, Julie Ann. 1986. Sensory surprises in platypus, mantis. Science News, v. 129. p. 104. Learning in the Womb

Research is confirming that even before birth children in the womb are learning about the world. The child in the womb does much more than simply hear sounds, including its mother's voice. Not only do they change their form and appearance, they are amazingly able to change their DNA structure to avoid damage from harmful types of light! Image: God Appears to Moses in Burning Bush. The All-Purpose Foot

Nothing is more frustrating than glue that refuses to stick. And nothing is harder on an adhesive’s ability to stick than water. Water can prevent adhesives from solidly touching the surfaces that are to adhere. Freezing and thawing temperatures can force glued surfaces apart. Plants Call in Air Defenses

New research shows that, when attacked, many plants make chemicals that will give munching insects a bad case of indigestion. They also seem to warn their neighbors about the attack so that they, too, start up their defenses. Some plants even call in air defenses. Designed to Renew

We live in a world—indeed a universe—that is in continual change. Things have been designed that way for a very important reason. Unfortunately, some people choose to define evolution as simply change. However, that’s not the kind of continuous change that surrounds us. Was Noah a Brain Surgeon?

Most of us were amazed when we first learned that physicians in ancient Egypt did brain surgery. Even more amazing is that the skulls of their patients showed healing: they accomplished such complicated surgery without killing their patients. That physicians had the knowledge to do such delicate operations thousands of years ago challenges the modern, evolutionary view that humans began as primitives. Photo: Courtesy of Pixabay. (PD)

Noah's "Impossible" Ship

According to the Bible, Noah's Ark was 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high. It was built of a type of wood called "gopher wood." This may have been laminated wood, but it was wood. However, skeptics claim that even today wooden boats cannot be made that large simply because wood is not strong enough to endure the huge stresses generated by such a large structure; they say only iron can endure these stresses. Thunderbirds

"One day, long long ago, before the white man came to America, a party of Sioux Indian warriors were out hunting. They had left their village far behind. Looking up in terror, the Indians thought they saw the shape of a giant bird falling to earth…." Image: A thunderbird totem pole from Victoria, BC, Canada. Craters

The Moon is covered with craters. Other bodies in the Solar System are also covered with craters. If you look at an unlabeled photograph of Mercury, it is likely that you would simply assume it was the Moon because the cratering is so similar. Such craters have only been discovered since the advent of spacecraft to view the planets close up, so it was not until 1965, when the Mariner 4 craft flew by Mars, that craters other than on Earth or Moon were seen.
