This week, our look at buddy-cop movies all month long continues as we take a look at 1991's The Last Boy Scout! Bruce WIllis plays Joe Hallenbeck, a down and out cynical detective who teams up with Damon Wayans, a down and out ex-quarterback as they to try and solve a murder case involving a pro football team owner and a crooked politician. This week, we're continuing our month of "buddy-cop" films and this week's pick is brought to us by Tito. We look at the 1985 Hong Kong martial arts - action film YES MADAM. It stars Michelle Yeoh as Senior Inspector Ng who teams up with Inspector Carrie Morris (Cynthia Rothrock) of Scotland Yard to get ahold of some microfilm which had been unknowingly stolen by some low level thieves. Tonight, we are kicking off the new year with a month of films that were based on a suggestion by Tito, who wanted to do a month of buddy-cop movies. Tonight we're going to be looking at Men In Black, the Buddy-cop, scifi, action-comedy film starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as Agent J and Agent K from the highly-funded government sanctioned organization, the Men In Black who monitor and police extraterrestrial activity on and near the Planet Earth.

We really haven't talked about any Christmas movies all month so, when the subject was brought up, Geek Dad Brien suggested one he recently saw...the other Dads (mostly) said "sounds good" and we all sat down and watched Santa's Slay, a film from 2005 that none of us had heard of, despite some big name actors (James Caan anyone?) popping up in the opening scenes! In this film Santa Claus is actually a demon who lost a bet with an angel, so, for 1000 years, he becomes the giver of toys and happiness. But when those thousand years are up and the bet is off, he returns to his evil ways! Starring ex-wrestler, Bill Goldberg as the rampaging Santa and Robert Culp as the grandpa/angel. Well the holiday season is upon us once again and, if you're a long-time listener, you know what that means...we get to perform our own twisted version of a holiday classic and, if you're a new listener...we're sorry that you've joined us now...you're not exactly hearing us at our best! Anyway...without any further ado...here, for your listening pleasure (we hope) is our version of Doctor Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas...we bring you, How The Emperor Stole Life Day!!!

This week, we're going to take a look at Alien: Romulus, the new sequel in the long-running ALIEN franchise. In this film, while scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonists come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe...the xenomorph! This week, we're gonna enter the 'suck zone' as we take a look at TWISTERS, the hit sequel to the 1996 summer blockbuster, Twister. Starring Daisy Edgar-Jones as Kate Carter, a retired tornado-chaser, she is persuaded to return to Oklahoma to work with a new team, led by her old friend Javi, played by Anthony Ramos. As storm season intensifies, their paths collide with reckless social-media superstar Tyler Owens (played by Glen Powell). The pair, and their competing teams, find themselves in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma! Listen in and find out what we thought.

We here at Three Geeky Dads hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and to honor that holiday, we are doing something we haven't done in a while...a watch-along. For tonight, we want you all to join us in a screening of Eli Roth's holiday slasher, Thanksgiving! Put the movie on, and listen along with us as we watch, and discuss this holiday horror!

This week, we're going to be taking a look at HBO's hit mini-series, The Penguin. Starring Colin Ferrell, the series picks up immediately after the events of The Batman (2022), as Oz Cobb, a.k.a. the Penguin, makes a play to take control of Gotham City's criminal underworld. This week, the Geeky Dads travel down, down, down the road...down the witches' road as we take a look at Marvel's Agatha All Along. In the Disney+ series, the infamous Agatha Harkness finds herself without her powers when a suspicious goth teen begs her to take him on the legendary Witches' Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they're missing. Together, Agatha and this mysterious teen pull together a desperate coven, and set off to discover hidden answers and unlimited power! Listen in and out what we thought of the new Disney+ series!

This week, we wrap up our Halloween season of comparing original/remake horror films with a look at Salem's Lot, both the original 1979 TV mini-series and the new version that Warner Brothers just dropped, recently on HBO Max. Listen in, and find out what we thought.

Last week, we were not only fortunate enough to be in New York City for Comic Con but we were joined by our podcast brothers-in-arms, Christopher and Tristan Ham of the Get Your Shinebox podcast! While we were all together, we thought it would be a good idea to record an episode and that's just what we did. So, after a few long days at Comic Con and in between pub-crawls and searching for the perfect New York City slice of pizza, we all got behind the mic back at Chris and Tristan's hotel to talk about the horrific cinematic masterpiece, Rawhead Rex (which we had just watched). Tonight, we're going to be looking in the mirror and saying "Candyman" 5 times because, this week we're looking at Candyman. The 1992 horror classic starring Tony Todd and also the 2021 remake/reboot/sequel starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen. Listen in and find out what we thought.

So warns the theme song to the 1958 original film, The Blob, starring Steve McQueen...and the same can be said of the 1988 remake starring Shawnee Smith and Kevin Dillon. Tonight, it's the battle royale no one asked for as we pit Killer Tomatoes against Killer Klowns to see which cult horror comedy comes out on top!

This week, we're taking a look at Longlegs. FBI Agent Lee Harker is a gifted new recruit assigned to the unsolved case of an elusive serial killer who calls himself "Longlegs" (played by Nicholas Cage). As the case takes many complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the merciless killer and now she must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family. This new hit horror movie is equal parts, police procedural, serial killer, satan worship, cults, sinister nuns and creepy dolls but, does it all work or is it just an overstuffed mess? HAMMER has a brand new film out and as it just so happens, we love us some HAMMER so we decided to check out 2024's Doctor Jekyll, starring Eddie Izzard as the titular tortured doctor with a dark secret. Tune in and find out what we all thought of it.

It's September and Halloween is one month away so, it's the perfect time to start looking back at some of our favorite HAMMER films. This week, we're taking a look at Dracula Has Risen from the Grave. This 1968 Hammer Dracula sequel again stars Christopher Lee as Dracula, Rupert Davies as the Monsignor, Veronica Carlson as his niece, Maria. In the film, Davies' Monsignor performs an exorcism on Dracula's castle, and in doing so, unwittingly (and unknowingly) resurrects the Count back from the dead. Dracula then vows revenge on whoever was responsible for keeping him from his castle. Tune in and find out what we all thought!

So last week, we had the pleasure of being invited back, by friend of the show Josh Dahlin, to record at his 2nd annual Dark Arts Festival. We had a blast there, talking to, and interviewing Nick and Matt, the creative team behind the independent horror film, Curse of the Were-beard. We also talked again with our friend Harley Bean of Rhode Island's RKO Army and we had the pleasure to chat with Bryce who was there to show off his film, Robotic Circus among many others. It was quite a full day and you can listen on on some of the fun right now!!!

This week, we bring you our look at the hit MCU movie, Deadpool & Wolverine! Yes, you read that correctly, Deadpool and Wolverine are now part of the Disney/MCU family. And while you may think that this movie takes a big old dump all over their former FOX masters, you're mistaken...it's actually a love-letter to the FOX films of the past while making us look forward to an MCU filled with marvelous mutants!

Hey dear listeners, we're back from our summer break and we had a lot to talk about. We get caught up on what we've been doing while away from the mics this past month, where we've been and what we've watched. Most importantly, we're also joined by our good friend, Josh Dahlin who brought to us the latest independent horror film he had a hand in making...Graveyard Shark. Josh was also here with us to talk about his second annual Dark Arts Festival, which we had a blast at last year and are looking forward to being a part of again next week.

This week (by request) we will be taking a look at Uncle Buck, the John Hughes directed comedy from 1989 is about a laid back, unemployed bachelor named Buck who is forced to babysit his brother's 3 kids after a family emergency pulls their parents out of town. He wasn't their first choice to watch over the kids but, with a little bit of luck and a lot of tough love, he manages to win over everyone in this heartwarming family comedy!

Listen up, Bub! This week, we're taking a look at the new Disney+ animated series, X-Men '97. It is a revival of X-Men: The Animated Series (1992–1997), continuing the story of Marvel's mutant X-Men who face new challenges following the loss of their leader, Professor X. What did we all think? You won't need Cerebro to read out minds...just tune in and find out!

This week we take a look at the hit film, Godzilla Minus One. The movie is set in the waning days of WWII and tells the story of Shikishima, a surviving Kamikaze pilot, who was attacked on Odo Island, along with a company of fighter plane mechanics, by a gargantuan monster. After the mechanics die because of Shikishima failing to shoot the monster, an overwhelming amount of guilt weighs on him, especially when he returns to a ravaged post-war Japan and a homeless woman and the orphaned baby she cares for, moves into his home. Shikishima, now on a personal mission, teams up with a large group of war veterans to finally take down the monster known as Godzilla. Listen in and find out what we all thought!

This week we have a new episode where we take a look at the new hit horror film, Late Night With The Devil! The movie is shot documentary style and tells the story of Jack Delroy (David Dastmalchian) who hosts a syndicated talk show 'Night Owls' that has been perpetually trailing Johnny Carson's 'Tonight Show' in the ratings. A year after the tragic death of Jack's wife, ratings have plummeted. So, on October 31, 1977 a desperate Jack decides to try to turn his fortunes around by airing a Halloween special like no other, unaware he is about to unleash evil into the living rooms of America! What did we all think of it? Listen in to the conversation, and fund out!!!

This week, we return to the wastelands with a look at the new film, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga! Again, written and directed by visual genius, George Miller, it tells the back story of young Furiosa and how she was snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and fell into the hands of the Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland they came across the Citadel presided over by Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants battled for dominance, Furiosa fights to survive as she puts together the means to find her way home. Listen in and find out what we all thought!

This week, we conclude our series of 4's (where we take a look at the, usually bad, 4th entry in a film franchise!) However, this week we bring you another good one! This week, we brave the post-apocalyptic wastelands as we venture through 2015's Mad Max: Fury Road! This film, directed by the genius, George Miller, tells the tale of Imperitor Furiosa as she rebels against the tyrannical Imortan Joe, in search for her homeland with the aid of a group of female prisoners, a psychotic war-boy and a drifter named Max!

This week we have a new episode, the latest in our annual series where we take a look at the (usually bad) 4th entry in a film franchise! This week, however, is different, for this time we're looking at John Wick: Chapter 4!

Hey now, we have a new episode coming your way, this week we are going to take a look at Expendables 4...it's the latest movie in the franchise that features half of the original cast, half the action and (apparently) half the effects budget as well. It also asks the question, "Why the hell didn't they stop after the 3rd one?"

We have a special Escape Pod episode for you all...it also happens to be our 250th episode!!! Quinn, geek-dad Brien's daughter, really wanted to get behind the mic and talk all about her new, favorite movie, Lisa Frankenstein! It's the story of a misunderstood teenager (Kathryn Newton) and a reanimated corpse (Cole Sprouse) as they embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness and a few missing body parts! Written by Diablo Cody and directed by Robin Williams' daughter, Zelda Williams, it's an entertaining horror rom-com with a silly sense of humor and heavy '80s vibes!

This week, we're kicking off our annual "series of 4s" where, in honor of May the 4th, we take a look at the (usually bad) 4th entry in a film franchise. This week, we're looking at yet another of SONY's abysmal attempts to hang on to their Spider-Man rights by giving us, yet another Spider-Man villain film that does not feature Spider-Man (after Venoms 1 & 2, and Morbius)! It's boring, it makes no sense and no one asked for it (hey that could be the title of OUR autobigraphy!) so, here is our look at Madame Web!!!

Ok...this week, we wrap up the month of April (and our April fools series of episodes) with a look at a film that features Captain America and Spider-man on opposing sides...if you're thinking of Marvel's Civil War, you're mistaken because, this week, we have a real treat! Friend of the show, Josh Gravel, brings to us a film we've only heard rumors about, a film that exists only to be remembered in the same breath as "Turkish Star Wars"...this week, we're looking at 3 Dev Adam (AKA: 3 Mighty Men...AKA: Turkish Spider-man)!!! Spider-man is the bad guy in this film, stealing antiquities and murdering those who possessed them and it seems only the fluent Turkish speaking duo of Captain America and the masked Mexican wrestler, Santo can stop him! Listen in and find out what we thought!

It's another week in April so that means that we may or may not be looking at Romancing the Stone. What we can tell you is that it's a movie about a couple of people trying to track down an ancient treasure. What did we really watch? Listen in and find out!!!

It tells the story of Patrick Bateman (Christian Bale), a young, wealthy, New York investment banking executive who tries to hide his murderous, psychopathic tendencies from his friends and co-workers. In the March of Madness month continues as, this week, we take a look at 1989's The Burbs. It tells the story of Ray (Tom Hanks) who just wants to spend his week off from work just hanging around the house, doing nothing. However, after one of his neighbors goes missing, the other neighbors on the street begin to suspect the Klopeks, a strange family who had just recently moved next door to Ray. As suspicion turns to paranoia, everyone gets hysterical about what weird goings-on could be going on in the strange house next door. Egged on by his friends, Ray's grip on his own sanity becomes more and more strained as the entire neighborhood plots to investigate what's really going on over at the Klopek's house. What did we think? Listen in and find out!

In the March of Madness continues as, this week, we're taking a look at Universal Studio's malevolent, maniacal monster...The Invisible Man. After Dr. Jack Griffin discovers a way to turn himself invisible, he runs off to a small isolated English village to find a quiet place to conduct his research into finding a way back to normal. But, he soon finds that the overly curious townsfolk, with their constant prying and interruptions, are infuriating him and push him further and further into an insane, murderous rage. On the run again, he goes on an invisible rampage, leaving the police baffled as to how to capture a murderer that they cannot see. Directed by James (Frankenstein. Bride of Frankenstein) Whale and starring Claude Raines as Dr. Jack Griffin/The Invisible Man, the film is based on HG Wells' sci-fi story of the same name and is filled with (for the time) ground-breaking special effects! "We all go a little mad sometimes..." Truer words were never spoken and with that chilling line, delivered with icy coolness by Norman Bates, we kick off this year's IN THE MARCH OF MADNESS series with, non other than, Alfred Hitchcock's masterpiece, PSYCHO!

This week, we're taking a look at Ridley Scott's groundbreaking, visually striking 1982 movie, Blade Runner. It tells the story of a retired cop, Rick Deckerd, who happens to be a former BLADE RUNNER, a specially trained breed of cop whose sole duty is to hunt down "replicants", artificial beings created for hard labor off-world. Replicants are not allowed back on their home planet under pain of death, and that's where Deckerd comes in, he's pulled out of retirement for the purpose of hunting down 4 of these escaped replicants who have returned to Earth to question their creator, Elden Tyrell. While investigating the Tyrell Corporation, Deckerd learns that there is a 5th replicant on Earth, Tyrell's assistant, Rachel, however, she is unaware that she is a replicant because she has been implanted with the memories of Tyrell's niece. Now Deckerd not only has the problem of hunting down the original 4 replicants, he seems to be developing feelings for Rachel who, herself, isn't human. What did we think of this neo-noir/cyber-punk/sci-fi classic? Listen in to the conversation and find out!

Tonight, we bring your the next episode in our Futuristic February series where we take a look at Terry Gilliam's 1984 film, Brazil. The film tells the story of Sam Lowry, an overworked technocrat in a futuristic society that is needlessly convoluted and inefficient. Sam dreams of a life where he can fly away from technology and overpowering bureaucracy, and spend eternity with the woman of his dreams. While trying to rectify the wrongful arrest of one Harry Buttle, Sam meets the woman from his dreams. However, the bureaucracy has labeled him as responsible for a rash of terrorist bombings, and Sam and Jill's lives are put in danger. What did we think of it? Listen in and find out!

The next in our Futuristic February series is here. This time we take a look at the 1999 film, The Thirteenth Floor. In the film, Douglas Hall awakens to discover a bloody shirt in his house and that his boss, friend and mentor was murdered the night before. Did he do it? Why can't he remember? The Thirteenth Floor is a sci-fi thriller that explores the ominous possibility of computer-simulated universes, where reality is questioned and nothing is what it seems. What did we think? Listen in and find out!

To kick off sci-fi February, we're taking a look at Alex Proyas' 1998 neo-noir/sci-fi/detective film, Dark City. Starring Rufus Sewell, Jennifer Connolly, William Hurt, Kiefer Sutherland and Richard O'Brien, the movie follows John Murdoch as he awakens to find he is wanted for a series of brutal murders. The only problem is that he can't remember anything and as he tries to unravel the mystery of his identity, he stumbles upon the truth that the city is not what it seems as it and everything in it are controlled by mysterious otherworldly beings knows as the Strangers. What did we think of it? Listen in and find out!

The year is 2024... That opening statement is pretty much the only thing that the film, Highland 2 got right. For, what happens when a sequel totally ignores the rules the first film established? What happens when the film's backers get rid of the director and edit the film without his input? What happens when pretty much everyone involved, including the film's lead actors want out but can't escape due to contractural obligations? What happens when the finished film is such a mess because of interference by the producers and studio that the director releases his "Renegade Cut" of the film to correct those mistakes (but only just barely)? The year is 2024...and we're doing our first "Drink 'Til It's Good" of the year with a look at Highlander 2: The Quickening!

This week, we're taking on the new Disney+ series, ECHO. The first of the new Marvel Spotlight shows to air on the streaming service, Echo continues the story of Maya Lopez, that began in 2022's Hawkeye series, as she reconnects with her Native American roots while making tough choices about leaving her past with the Kingpin behind and moving forward with her family and community. What did we think? Listen in on the conversation and find out!

Zack Snyder is back with his latest movie made exclusively for NETFLIX. The story goes that, back in the day, ol' Zack wanted to play in Lucasfilm's sandbox but they said "No!" so, Zack picked up his action figures (characters with names like Bloodaxe and Nemesis), went home and said "I'm gonna make my own Star Wars but with hookers and blackjack!" Ok, that's only sort of true but, nonetheless, we have Rebel Moon part one: A Child Of Fire, loosely based on Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai. What did we all think? Tune in and find out!
