EIn the March of Madness continues here on the podcast as, this week, our very own master of the the macabre and mischief, Marc, brings us another claustrophobic film for us to take a look at. This time, he brings us the Alfred Hitchcock classic, ROPE starring James Stewart. The film tells the story of two brilliant young room mates, Brandon Shaw and Phillip Morgan, who strangle to death their former classmate David in their Manhattan penthouse apartment. They commit the crime as an intellectual exercise: they want to prove their superiority by committing the "perfect murder"...and see if they can get away with it by hiding David's body in a large trunk and then proceed to throw a dinner party where some of the invited guests happen to be David's father and his fiancee. Also present is their former professor, played by James Stewart, who begins to suspect that something is terribly wrong and that Brandon and Phillip are somehow involved. It features Austin Stoker as a police officer who defends a defunct precinct against a relentless criminal gang, and Darwin Joston as a death row-bound convict who assists him in defending the police station against the ensuing siege. EThey Dreaded Kegs = Three Geeky Dads Just like Setec Astronomy = Too Many Secrets Well, it's no secret that we are going to be taking a look at the 1992 espionage caper film, SNEAKERS starring Robert Redfolrd, Dan Aykroyd, Sidney Poitier, Mary McDonnell, Ben Kingsley, River Phoenix and David Strathairn. In the film, Redford and his team of security techs are tasked by a shadowy government agency to retrieve a mysterious "black box" but, but soon realize the job has nefarious and far-reaching consequences. EFebruary, for us, is FANTASY FEBRUARY and to kick if off this year, Geek Dad Brien (who is curating this month's films we're talking about) wanted wanted us to take a look at one if the fantasy movies that resonated with him...the 1981 Disney/Paramount c0-production of DRAGONSLAYER. This Film stars Peter MacNicol who plays a sorceror's apprentice who sets off to kill a dragon which has been devouring virgin girls from a nearby kingdom. This film features pioneering stop-motion effects with a very competent cast and classic fantasy backdrop to produce a very under-rated movie. EThis week, we wrap up a month long look at our favorite Rob Reiner films with 1987's The Princess Bride. Starring Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Chris Sarandon, Wallace Shawn, Mandy Patinkin, Andre the Giant, Christopher Guest, Billy Crystal, Peter Falk and Fred Savage the film was adapted by William Goldman based on his novel of the same name. It tells the tale of a farmhand named Westley who, after becoming a swashbuckling pirate, is accompanied by companions befriended along the way who helps him in rescuing his true love...the Princess Buttercup from the treacherous Prince Humperdinck! EThis week, we're continuing our look at some of our favorite Rob Reiner films with 1992's A Few Good Men. Tom Cruise and Demi Moore star as military lawyers who intends to prove that two US Marines charged with murdering a fellow soldier, were only following the orders of their base commander (Jack Nicholson). Tune in and find out what we thought of it.

EThis week, we continue our look at Rob Reiner films with 1990's MISERY. Best-selling novelist Paul Sheldon is on his way home from his Colorado hideaway after completing his latest book, when he crashes his car in a freak blizzard. Paul is critically injured, but he's rescued by former nurse Annie Wilkes, Paul's "number one fan", who (unbeknownst to anyone) takes Paul back to her remote house in the mountains. Unfortunately for Paul, Annie is also a headcase and, when she discovers that Paul has killed off the heroine in her favorite novels, her reaction leaves Paul terrified and trapped with little hope for escape.

January means Tito is picking what we talk about and, with Rob Reiner's tragic and untimely passing, we thought it would be fun to honor the late great director by looking at some of our favorite movies of his, begining with this one...Spinal Tap!

ETradition, it's what makes the holiday season what it is. One beloved holiday tradition is sitting around the TV to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas Special. It's been a holiday staple since it first aired back in 1965 and pretty much everyone knows it and loves it. Another tradition is the 3GD holiday special. For the uninitiated, that's our annual spoof of beloved holiday classics and this year, guess what we've targeted? That's right, this year, we're putting our own dark spin on A Charlie Brown Christmas!

Some have described the film as National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation meets Gremlins but, what did we all think? Tune in and find out!

EThis week we will be taking a look at Netflix's new version of Mary Shelley's classic horror tale, Frankenstein. Directed by master of horror, Guillermo DelToro and starring Oscar Isaac as the titular mad scientist obsessed with bringing the dead back to life. This film also stars Jacob Elordi as his tragic creation who just wants affection and a little love from his father/creator. Also, in supporting roles are Mia Goth and Christoph Waltz. This film has been a passion project for DelToro and he has been trying to get it made for almost decades now. It's a very faithful adaptation of Mary Shelley's novel but, how successful was DelToro in adapting this horror classic? Listen in and find out what we thoguht!
