Tim and Guy, together in room and opinion, have just had a most wonderful time soaking up the sights, sounds and cinematic experience of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. From the phenomenal racing sequences to the performances of Sung Kang (Han) and Brian Tee (DK / Takashi)—everything comes under the microscope for high praise. The same—sadly—cannot be said for Lucas Black's performance as Sean today, which is given some careful and thoughtful in-depth analysis. A straightforward car movie that represents a welcome departure from the self serious experience of Fast Four and (as Guy seems to think) some sort of skeleton key to understanding the entire Fast and the Furious franchise. Monty is so keen he has paid for the movie twice, while Tim declares the age of video piracy is upon us once again. It's time for a pool party, legitimately. The weather is fine, the sun is radiant and unprotected over the nation of New Zealand. Fast & Furious, aka Fast Four, is a movie in which we find out Letty has died by, GET THIS, being told out loud rather than shown. In the magnificent visual medium of film (marketed as "movies" because it's moving pictures), these dickheads disrespect the female lead of this franchise so massively, it is genuinely jarring for the fellaz. Brian (Paul Walker) and Dom (Vin mother-f'ing Diesel) are forced to work together to take down a drug lord after Dom and the fam kick off this flick stealing a gosh darn oil tanker in the opening moments of this Furious chapter. Tim has been hiking through Stewart Island with two of his oldest and best friends in preparation for this very screening. Guy has visited Melbourne, enjoyed himself for a few days, and downloaded Fast Five onto his phone—all to ensure he is in an optimal mental state to enjoy the film. Guy is still enamoured by the movie, Tim isn't so sure, but one thing both of these boys are doing is getting their gams out for a walk around the neighbourhood. The return of the walking episode! An enjoyable day out for our heroes, but arguably a less concentrated product for our libertarian fan?
