S2 Ep 2S02E02 - Rebecca Callard

E

Hello Two Shot Pod listeners. Thanks for downloading. You are all absolute champs. This week on the podcast we have a lovely chat and a (Yorkshire strength) brew with Rebecca Callard. Rebecca is an actress. You may have seen her on the telly back in the day when she was in The Borrowers, The Grand and Sunburn or more recently in the acclaimed BBC4 comedy The Detectorists. But... this being the Two Shot Podcast we don't talk about that much. Rebecca is an absolute diamond. She came to meet us in the Maison Bertaux patisserie in Soho and we had a right royal chinwag. Rebecca talks candidly about nerves, Yorkshire, parents and defying Dame Judy Dench. It's a really great chat and brings this year's TSP interviews to a close in fine style. We can't thank you listeners enough for the support and love you've shown over the past few months since we put the first episode out. It really is massively appreciated. S2 Ep 1S02E01 - Andy Sheridan

E

Alright alright alright. How's it going? It's episode 22 time and it's a chat with Andy Sheridan! We visited Andy in Manchester where he was acting in the play People, Places and Things alongside previous TSP guest Michael Balogun. Craig first worked with Andy in the feature film Control - That was ten years ago. When Andy wasn't acting and being a father he never stopped learning and feeding his creativity. As a writer, his first play Winterlong won the Bruntwood prize. This Two Shot Podcast is a great little episode where the intersetion of acting and writing comes to the fore. We hope you enjoy listening in. S1 Ep 19S01E19 - Danny Mays

E

We cannot believe that it's episode 20! Flown by right? Well, we thought we'd mark the occasion by getting the magnetic DANNY MAYS in for a pot of tea and good old chin wag! We're so glad we did cos this is a very special episode with one of the UK's finest (not to mention, funniest) actors. You'll know Dan from all sorts ranging from his BAFTA nominated turn as Danny Waldron in series 3 of Line Of Duty to his role in Mrs Briggs and on the big screen in Dad's Army and most recently The Limehouse Golem. It was a pleasure to get the kettle on and spend time with Dan. You may think that Craig just knows Dan from Line of Duty but their friendship goes way back 15 years to when they used to be flatmates (stories from those wild days can be purchased for the same price as Da Vinci's Salvator Mundi). Thanks so much for downloading and supporting us at TWO SHOT PODCAST, it's very much appreciated. We really hope you enjoy AND... make sure you stick around for the end as we have some very exciting news that you're gonna want to hear. Here it is EPISODE 20 with DANNY MAYS. E

Good morning, afternoon or evening, and a very warm welcome to Episode 19 of The Two Shot Podcast. This week it's back down south and straight into Soho to grab the teapot and settle down with THOMAS COOMBES. It was another one of those episodes where Craig & Producer Griff had never met Thomas but are now very pleased they have. It's another great natter covering all sorts of things including, a story about getting help and support from actors working within the industry today. Massive thanks to Thomas for taking the time to come and for being so open and honest. ALSO, a huge thank you to Tania Wade of MAISON BERTAUX, a beautiful French patisserie in the heart of London's Soho, for helping out with space to record. THIS IS EPISODE 19 WITH THOMAS COOMBES. S1 Ep 17S01E17 - Amanda Abbington

E

How the devil are you this Thursday? Just going back through the archives of TSP and this week we thought we’d bring you a classic episode with the incredible human that is AMANDA ABBINGTON. It’s a beautiful natter with Amanda that we recorded last year in soho, London in a favourite tea shop on Greek Street, Maison Betaux. We talk about her early years, cruelty at school and strength in life, raising children and so much more. It’s absolute class and we’re proud to bring it to you. Again. On a side note, just to say we’re almost ready to start back recording BRAND NEW EPISODES! Thanks so much for being patient and we’ll keep you posted when we get back hitting record and bringing the most honest and exciting conversations we can. Craig xx(Original Text)Well, another week has passed and here we are. THANK YOU. YES! YOU! You're here for episode 18 of the Two Shot Podcast and we are so chuffed to tell you that this weeks guest is the quite brilliant Amanda Abbington. You'll know Amanda from all sorts of stuff. Whether it's her TV work in Mr. Selfridge or a small underground cult show called Sherlock... as i say it's quite "niche" so it may not be on your radar. Anyway, enough of all that stuff. This week Craig & Producer Griff met Amanda in London to sit down over a pot of tea (or a coffee for some, it was early!) and thrash things out. It's a really lovely honest chat and Amanda doesn't pull any punches with what she feels or thinks. She's ace. This is an ace episode. You know what? You're ace for subscribing and joining us here on the Two Shot Podcast. So thank you. Here it is, hope you enjoy #TSP018. S1 Ep 16S01E16 - Michael Balogun

E

Happy Thursday! Before we get down to it PLEASE READ THIS... We want to say a HUGE thanks... To you! Yes! YOU! Our dear listeners. Two bits of cracking news this week. We were on a list in The Observer (decent paper for those outside these isles). The Two Shot Podcast was in the top 10 most talked about podcasts of 2017! The next day we topped the iTunes Charts of Tv & Film straight in at NUMBER 1! All this is down to you lot supporting, listening and telling others about what you've found. As the clock starts to slowly count down on 2017 this is an amazing bit of news to end the year with so thank you so much. Right. Let's GET. IT. ON. Episode 17 is a chat with someone who may not have heard of but who's story you are going to remember. Trust us! His name is Michael Balogun. This is his story and I cannot even begin to tell you how it goes. All I can say is "strap in"; it's a rollercoaster of a tale. Craig & Producer Griff travelled to meet Michael at the fantastic HOME in Manchester to sit down, brew up and get their podcast on! This is a fascinating chat with someone who is learning from his mistakes and even though it took quite some time to find the right path, he's now well and truly on it. That's as much as we are going to say, don't want to spoil anything. Enjoy. This is #TSP017 with Michael Balogun. S1 Ep 15S01E15 - Tony Pitts

E

Hiyer. How're you keeping? Thanks very much for downloading and listening to this, the sixteenth installment of the Two Shot Podcast. What a spectacularly good episode we've got in store for you this week. Craig and Producer Griffin met up with Tony Pitts down in Soho just after catching a screening of Tony's new film ('Funny Cow', got Maxine Peake in it, very good). Tony has been loads of ace stuff. You've probably seen him in Peaky Blinders, or Line of Duty... or Lilyhammer, Jamestown, Emmerdale or Red Riding. He's been in some great films too. Journeyman and Funny Cow most recently; not to mention appearances in Star Wars and Warhorse. Tony is an absolute gem. A rare character with searing integrity and an authenticity seldom seen these days. He's a great story teller and a truly inspiring figure in both a professional and human capacity. Get a brew on and have a listen to this wonderful chat. Hope you enjoy listening as much as we did making. We were thrilled to have her on. You'll know Tamzin from UK T.V. work in all sorts including Eastenders, Red Cap, Out Of control, Doctor Who, The Catherine Tate Show to name a few. Of course, this being THE TWO SHOT PODCAST we don't bother with that. What do we bother with? Well, you'll have to listen and find out. It's another belter. Eyup, eyup. How're you keeping? Thanks for joining us for this, the 14th episode of the Two Shot Podcast. This week we were kindly invited into the home of the actor Joe Sims. We sat down and had a brew (Clipper liquorice or summert) and some delicious cannoli and had a right good chat. Joe is a Bristolian and proud. S1 Ep 12S01E12 - Lauren Socha

E

Alright. How's it going? Thanks for downloading episode 13 of the Two Shot Podcast. This week Craig and Producer Griff took a trip to Derby to have a chin-wag with Lauren Socha. You might know her from her roles alongside our host Craig in Misfits, or from her great performace in The Unloved. In this chat, Lauren is brutally candid and incredibly open. She reveals her own insecurities and regrets and talks about her childhood, school, dealing with being in the limelight as a young person, and her own little baby which she loves dearly. It's an intense and enlightening half hour or so and one that we're sure you'll find interesting. Two Shot Podders... it's Lauren Socha. E

Happy Thursday to each and everyone one of you! Thanks so much for joining us for episode 12 of the Two Shot Podcast. This week we're very happy to share a chat with an actor still very much in love in acting; ANDY NYMAN. Craig & Producer Griff travelled to London to spend some time with Andy and have a brew and a natter. I think you're gonna like this one. It's a very positive chat with Andy. His love for all things 'acting' shines through this episode. We cover all sorts of stuff whilst being welcomed into Andy's "museum"... that will become clear, hopefully, when you hear the episode and see some of the photos and videos we took. You'll know Andy from all sorts of films & tv such as Kick Ass 2, Charlie Brooker's Dead Set, His writing with Derren Brown, and all sorts of theatre that Andy has been involved with over the years. Of course, this being TSP we don't even discuss any of that! We had far too much else to talk about during our time! We hope you enjoy listening it as much as we did making it.GET. YOUR. PODCAST. E

Here we are again. Thanks for coming on board! Episode 11 is here and this week, Craig & Producer Griff travel to London meet up with the mighty SANJEEV BHASKAR. You'll know Sanjeev from his groundbreaking work in Goodness Gracious Me, The Kumars At Number 42 and most recently Unforgotten. We're thrilled that Sanjeev wanted to come and have a TSP natter. Again, it's a very honest chat and one in which Sanjeev certainly doesn't hold back. There's laughs, of course, but also some very touching stories of childhood and the tensions he experienced growing up. All in all, it's another banger and we couldn't be more proud to have him on.We really hope you enjoy. Big love, Craig & Producer Griff. S1 Ep 9S01E09 - Joseph Gilgun

E

This week we're celebrating some of the talented, past TSP guests who've been recognised at this year's BAFTAs. This episode with Joseph Gilgun first aired September 14th 2017. Alright. How’s it going? Thanks loads for downloading and listening. Here we at our tenth episode. La Decima! We’ve got something special for you this week... it’s a Two Shot Podcast chat with the one and only Joseph Gilgun. You might know him as Woody from Shane Meadow's This is England, As Rudy Wade in Misfits alongside our host Craig, as Eli Dingle in ITV's Emmerdale, or morer recently as Cassidy in AMC's Preacher. Joe is a special character. A rakish raconteur with a passion for making people piss their pants laughing. He wears his feelings on his sleeve and his disarming honesty and endearing vulnerability really make this an unmissable episode. We talk about drama school, dyslexia, family, anxieties and growing up in a Lancashire town. It’s a wonderfully frank hour or so and if there’s not at least one moment that doesn’t make you laugh out loud then we’ll give you your money back. Enjoy. It’s Two Shot Pod number ten with Joseph Gilgun. We're a brand new podcast and need all the help we can get to get our episodes heard. Please tell your friends about us IRL and help spread the word on the internet, give us a rating or a 'like' on here if you enjoy what you hear, and subscribe to stay update with future episodes. We're thrilled that we can bring you a conversation with the one and only Thoms Turgoose! Craig & Producer Griff were all set to jump in the motor with the mics to meet Tommo in his home town of Grimsby but, an actors schedule is never set in stone and all three of us managed to meet for brew and a chat in London just before Tommo was heading to a premiere. Yes, it's a shorter than normal episode (BOO!) It is however a very open and honest chat and very entertaining (YEAH!). We cover Loads with Tommo; education, grief, support, partying, commitment and building bridges. We cover so much in our short time together it actually felt like a normal length episode... We here at TSP are very proud to have had a sit down with the lovely Tommo. He's a proper gent, not to mention an honest and toptop actor. We hope you enjoy. We certainly did. Good morning/Good afternoon/Good Evening. The warmest greetings to you, wherever you may be and whatever you may be doing. It's Thursday and it's EPISODE 8 of THE Two Shot Podcast. Two months down already and this week Craig & Producer Griff travel to London to meet the very funny and chatty (always helps!) MAYA SONDHI! You may know Maya from her fabulous work in Line Of Duty or Citizen Khan or possibly from her writing work on The Kumars, Mount Pleasant and Eastenders. We get the kettle boiled and the tea bags in (two English breakfast & one green tea since you asked) and get down to business talking all about Maya growing up, her very supportive parents, writing & acting and loads more in between. As usual it's another great & insightful chat; a little bit like two pals down a pub and you just happen to be on the next table listening... not in a weird way... just overhearing... not being nosey or anything... oh you know what we mean.Enjoy. S1 Ep 6S01E06 - Michael Smiley

E

Here we are again. It's episode seven of the two shot podcast! Our guest this week is the actor, stand-up comedian and raconteur MICHAEL SMILEY. Craig & Producer Griff met with Smiley in London and after a not so successful coffee order for Smiley (don't ask!) we popped the kettle on, had our selves a brew (very successful!), sat down and dived in.You'll know Michael from playing the part of 'Tyres' in the acclaimed sitcom Spaced, and from his work with Ben Wheatley in Kill List, A Field In England and most recently Free Fire to name but a few. But of course this is the Two Shot Podcast so we like to delve a little deeper. We get to hear about his growing up in Northern Ireland, moving to London, becoming a father and turning from cyclist into a stand up and eventually an actor. It's a really great chat and one we're proud to add to our library here at Two Shot. We really hope you enjoy it. We're a brand new podcast and need all the help we can get to get our episodes heard. S1 Ep 5S01E05 - Danny

E

Happy Thursday! Hope you're all well. Here we go again. It's episode six! I say "here we go again" but this weeks guest is surprisingly different. Different in that usually, we tell you who it is and a little bit about them. Can't do that this week. Our guest wants to remain unnamed and this is something we respect on the Two Shot Podcast. For those of you who don't know (and why would you?) we give each guest freedom of edit which means they can talk freely and openly without consoring themselves and feeling inhibited during the chat. Once we've recorded and producer Griff has worked his magic in cleaning it all up and making it sound super sweet, we offer our guests the chance to have a listen and check that they've not said anything they're not comfortable with. In this instance, due to what our guest does for a living now, it made total sense. It's another great story and one we're pleased he agreed to chat about.Get the kettle on and let's get going. We're a brand new podcast and need all the help we can get to get our episodes heard. S1 Ep 4S01E04 - Kate Ashfield

E

Greetings Two Shot Pod listeners. It's that time of the week again and this time it's the turn of the magnificent Kate Ashfield. Craig and producer Griff took a trip to the Big Smoke and visited Kate in her super-cool East London flat. They talked drama groups, risk-taking, balancing writing and acting, and Gary Oldman's school reports. It's a fabulous chat. You'll know Kate from her brilliant portrayals in Shaun of the Dead, The Little Life, and Late night Shopping, or her myriad appearances on the stage and screen. She's a wonderful and inspiring woman and we hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we had making it. We're a brand new podcast and need all the help we can get to get our episodes heard. S1 Ep 3S01E03 - William Ash

E

Episode 4. EPISODE 4! ALREADY! That's right. We're a month in and it's flying by.This week Craig & producer Griff travelled to Oldham to pop the kettle on with professional northerner WILLIAM ASH!! Once the tea was brewed we got right down to business. We talk about loads with Will; from football to broken legs to ending up in the "Children's Ward". You'll quickly learn that Will has both feet firmly rooted in the North West. You'll know Will from Clocking Off, Waterloo Road, Where The Heart Is and Shameless amongst many other television, stage and film appearances. It was a real pleasure to have a sit down and a chat with him and his insights and passion for his job were so great to listen to. This is another episode that we here at TWO SHOT we're immensely proud of... well, we're proud of all of them, otherwise we wouldn't send 'em out to you. S1 Ep 2S01E02 - Neil Morrissey

E

Here we are again! It's EPISODE 2 of THE TWO SHOT PODACAST. After a triumphant opener last week with Nottingham's First Lady, Vicky McClure, this week Craig & producer Griff travel from East Midlands to the great city of Manchester to get the kettle on with the deliciously eloquent and brutally honest NEIL MORRISSEY. Depending on your age you may know Neil's work from Boon, Bob the Builder and Men Behaving Badly. More recently he has appeared in the BBC's Waterloo Road and Line of Duty, BUT this being THE TWO SHOT PODCAST we don't discuss things like that. We go back to start as Neil talks (frankly) about his start in life. From being up in court at a very young age to arriving at drama school with just a bag and a few jumpers. The amazing thing about Neil is is positivity that has never wavered through this life. We adore this man. We adore this episode and we hope you do too. It's brilliant! Please note: As this is a no holds bar chat, there is some fruity language from the outset. If you're listening in the car and the kids/parents/grandfather/grandmother/godson/goddaughter/sensitive-eared pet are in the car with you, you might want to lend them some earplugs. Failing that, stick your headphones into Episode 2 of THE TWO SHOT PODCAST with NEIL MORRISSEY. We're a brand new podcast and need all the help we can get to get our episodes heard. Please tell your friends about us IRL and help spread the word on the internet, give us a rating on here if you like what you hear, and subscribe to stay update with future episodes. We've got some brilliant guests lined up. Facebook- search 'Two Shot Podcast' Twitter- @twoshotpod Instagram- @twoshotpod Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/twoshotpod. S1 Ep 1S01E01 - Vicky McClure

E

Here it is! The first episode of the Two Shot Podcast: a podcast about actors and acting. Our host Craig Parkinson and producer Griff went down to sunny Nottingham to have a brew and a chat with the actor Vicky McClure. Vicky was honest and frank about her early years as an actor in her local drama workshop and getting her breakthrough roles, and she talked openly about her route to becoming an actor. Vicky first came to prominance in Shane Meadows' brilliant film A Room for Romeo Brass before going on to star as Lol in the iconic This Is England. She has since appeared in acclaimed television series including the BBC's Line of Duty (alongside our host) and the Replacement, ITV's Broadchurch and the films Filth, Hummingbird and Svengali. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we have making it. We're a brand new podcast and need all the help we can get to get our episodes heard.
