One of the things I would love to see changed in my lifetime is the Tall Poppy Syndrome in Australia. We don't need it anymore, it does not support our evolution or expansion and it's time to speak up and change this cultural phenomenon for good. And it starts with us. We must first celebrate others instead of judging them or tearing them down as they thrive, we must speak up when others are tearing another successful person down and we must be confident in celebrating ourselves fully. To make progress something has to change. A change in our behaviour, our actions, our thoughts and our needs. The reason we resist change is that it's uncomfortable. We feel resistance to doing something different, something unfamiliar, even though it's what we need to get a different result. What if that resistance wasn't because of fear? What if it was because of our conditioning and our core needs? What if what we truly needed was to balance the way we meet our needs in a more resourceful way. Today's episode is all about understanding our core needs and how the resistance we feel is present because we're so used to the behaviour we use to fulfill our needs, and doing something different feels unnatural - hence the resistance. S2 Ep 112112 - Your triggers are controlling you

What or who triggers you? The resistance you feel is indicating that there is some healing or resolution that needs to happen internally for you to be able to move forward. What you resist, persists and if you don't deal with the trigger it will continue to control you. What is a trigger? A trigger is something that sets off an emotional response in you. You may get angry, annoyed, upset, frustrated. You may react with judgment, avoidance, or apathy. Either way, if something is triggering an emotional response in you, that trigger is an indicator that there is an internal conflict or an unresolved issue that needs to be addressed. And if you don’t address it, it will continue to control you. Doing the inner work is looking at these triggers with curiosity and compassion, so you can begin the healing process to let it go and step into being your true self. Is it a situation, something or someone that triggers you. Does the trigger feel like something unresolved from the past? Is it highlighting where you are suppressing yourself? Not standing up for what you believe in or asking for what you want? Or is it an inner conflict? Use these journal prompts to uncover and overcome the trigger: Questions for Unresolved Issues Identify the past experience it reminds you of. What about that past experience triggers you? What are the emotions you are noticing you feel? What did you want to say, or do in that situation that you didn't do in the past? How did you want the other person to respond? How has your interpretation of the event affected how you view the situation here in the present? Why is it now time to change your interpretation of the event? What could you make it mean instead? Does someone trigger you? Use these questions to remove the trigger What triggers you about them? Specifically? Get as specific as possible. What emotions does it bring up in you? What about that person could you be missing? What are you choosing not to see? What do I see in them that I fear in myself? What do I want it to be instead? Who do I want to be instead? Overthinking comes in three forms; ruminating about the past, worrying about the future or dwelling on a problem. Are you a victim of overthinking? Do you make problems where there aren't any? Do you get stuck in Analysis paralysis? Overthinking is a repeated thought pattern that keeps us stuck and also hinders us from tapping into valuable information from the body. Today I delve into how to get out of your head, back into your body so you can stop the overthinking pattern. Learning to tap into your heart and your intuition gives you the ability to feel the emotions designed to give us information and figure out what action steps to take to overcome the problem. Overthinking is often a symptom of avoiding our emotions, where our brains override our hearts and try to work out what to do and how to feel. Our heart is where we fee so when we learn to tap back into our hearts we get to tap into so much more positive emotion to enhance our experience in our lives. What is a scarcity mindset? A scarcity mindset is where we focus on everything that is missing in our lives, of all the things we want and don’t have, of all the ways we can’t have what we want and everything that’s lacking. A scarcity mindset affects all areas of your life, it affects your perspective of life, it affects your happiness and joy, it affections your emotions and behaviours and our vibration and ability to manifest more abundance. To overcome a scarcity mindset we must: Learn to stop telling the scarcity story.Manage your inner criticQuestion the truthForgive and let goRefocus our attention Then use these questions as prompts to refocus your attention. What has money given to you in the past? (Fight the urge to get negative here – really focus on what it HAS given you.)What is it giving you now?What are you taking for granted? (the simple things in life that money allows you – like electricity, wifi, food, water)What opportunities does this situation give you? Really take the time to think this one through, it’s easy to focus on the lack here, but when you really look deeply, you will find opportunities that weren’t there before.Create a list of options to attract more abundance. Are you waiting for permission? From some one or something to be able to do what you want to do, become who you want to become or say the things you want to say? Permission isn't handed out to people who are waiting for it. It's given to those who demand it and take it without asking. Why do you think we need permission? Rules of authority or credibility? In today's world, being an adult we must learn to create our own inner authority to find the courage and conviction to trust ourselves and give ourself permission. Approval - Who's approval are you looking for? Who's did you crave as a child? Validation from others - Having mentors and coaches are great ways to expand yourself, but be mindful that you don't create a co-dependent relationship where you're always looking externally for the permission to take an action. Learning to recognize and validate yourself is how you build the inner trust to begin to give yourself permission. Worrying about what other people think is another form of validation and it also comes back to how you view yourself, how you trust yourself and how you choose other peoples opinions above your own. The only way to develop your inner trust is to start making decisions for yourself, back yourself 100% and if for any reason, it doesn't work out, you also take full responsibility and learn from the experience. When we look to others for the answers it's easy to fail because it was never our decision in the first place - it's a form of self-protection. Practicing self-love is more powerful - Learn to accept and love yourself enough to back your every decision, trust your every move and give yourself the permission to fail and to succeed.
