Ep 145TMHS 145: Weight Loss Vs. Fat Loss - With Abel James

I have a confession to make… I don’t like our society’s obsession with losing weight. As crazy as it might sound coming from someone who’s helped thousands of people lose weight, it hurts my heart a little bit every time I hear someone say they want to lose weight. Here’s why... Measuring our health by measuring our pounds on the scale has led our culture in the wrong direction. You can eat processed, calorie restrictive “health foods”, over-exercise to the point that you are catabolizing your muscle tissue, and feel bad and hungry all the time, but if you’re losing weight, that’s okay. As a matter of fact, if you’re losing weight, you’re healthy. This may come as a little bit of a surprise, but just because you lose weight on the scale it does NOT mean that you are healthy. There are many poor states of human health that come coupled with a loss of weight on the scale. And on the other side, just because your weight is higher than you may want it to be, it does not mean that you are UN-healthy. This whole weight loss thing is really relative and (more or less) confusing to the average person who just wants to look good in a bathing suit. And with the way that the media has programmed our opinions of our bodies, there are only like 5 people in the entire world who actually look good in a bathing suit. I love hearing people say that they want to be healthy. I love hearing people say that they want to take care of their body and treat their body with respect. I love hearing people say that they’ve decided to put a priority on their health, eat real foods, and move their body on a regular basis because they love it. I know those people will be more successful because not one time did they mention weight. They are devoted to doing the things that, chances are, will result in an elimination of excess weight. If health is the goal, then necessary weight loss can happen as a side-effect. If weight loss is the goal, then health can happen, but struggle and sickness can happen as well. You can lose track of what matters most, cut corners, and end up far worse than when you started off. Today’s show is focused on health. It’s also focused on more important metrics to track than the weight on the scale that can affirm to you that your journey to better health is working from the inside out. We have on the author of the New York Times bestselling book The Wild Diet, Abel James, to discuss weight loss vs. fat loss, how to support sustainable weight loss if that’s still your goal, and how to go about changing your body in a smart way that really lasts. This is information that everyone in our society today needs to know, so just click play, enjoy, and make sure to share with the people you care about! In this episode you'll discover: Why Abel decided to do a major television show (even though it seems counterintuitive for his brand). What’s going on behind the scenes of major weight loss shows. The shocking cost of medical bills that Abel’s client on the show incurred before starting The Wild Diet. Why weight loss television shows are making a mistake in their tracking. Why health and happiness are often separated from each other in our society today. How muscle loss can slow your metabolism. What Abel’s client Kurt did to lose 87 pounds and more than 22 percent of his body fat during the competition. The special dietary fats that Kurt focused on to give him an edge in weight loss and his health. How people can lose a lot of weight on the scale but not lose a lot of fat. Why excess skin can be a big challenge after an extreme weight loss. Why bone broth could be valuable for your health practice. How making a fool out of yourself can actually help someone else to have a breakthrough in their health (this is powerful!). Ep 144TMHS 144: Mind Over Medicine - With Dr. Lissa Rankin

Many of us take our health for granted until it's suddenly taken away. When our health begins to slip out of our fingers, it can be a tremendous wake up call in our lives. Some people receive the call and their life is transformed for the better. Something inside of them changes. They begin living differently. They make changes. They heal. Many other people we've known and loved have faded away quickly. They believe that nothing else can be done. They give up. There is an intermingling of these two groups of people for sure, but it's pretty clear in the research that those who recover have something very powerful in their favor. And that is the power of their mind. When you talk to physician and New York Times bestselling author Lissa Rankin about the power of the mind to heal the body, she isn't just talking about something metaphysical, she is talking about a physical transformation that takes place, and it's based on what you believe. In today's remarkable episode you're going to learn what role your mind and beliefs play in keeping you well or keeping you sick. You're going to learn the nearly unbelievable clinical benefits of fake medical treatments and how this data can be applied to your life. You're also going to discover how significant being connected to a bigger purpose in your life is, and how it's tied to your lifeline. This episode is filled to the brim with valuable insights and takeaways that will last you a lifetime. Enjoy, and make sure to share! In this episode you'll discover: What drove Dr. Lissa Rankin from being a conventional MD to studying and teaching integrative medicine. Why some of the biggest "health nuts" in the world can end up very sick and unhealthy. What the placebo effect actually is. The shocking statistics on the effectiveness of placebo treatments. What's going on in the body when a placebo treatment works for someone. How thoughts can trigger overwhelming stress responses. What simple things activate the body's relaxation response. What exercise you can do to uncover what your body's ailments are trying to tell you. What the #1 risk factor for our health is (this will surprise you and impact you as well!). How character traits like happiness and optimism relate to your health and longevity. What the "anatomy of a calling" means (this is powerful!). Ep 143TMHS 143: How The Quality Of Your Sleep Impacts The Health Of Your Relationships

When you're sleep deprived, you're not yourself. No... I mean really not yourself. There's a big impact on your brain, hormones, and we'll just say "emotional stability" that a lack of sleep can play. So much so that top researchers have dove in to discover just how socially messed up poor sleep can make us. Today you're about to discover how your sleep impacts the health of your relationships in ways that you could never have imagined. Even though some of the research is a little unsettling (and a whole lot surprising), it really shouldn't come as that big of a surprise to us. We all know that other people (but not you, of course) who get grumpy, irritable, and even out-right mean when they are tired. Other people (but not you, of course) can end up being unreasonable, argue for no reason, and even act more negative and pessimistic when they're sleep deprived. We've all seen it, but we may not of caught it because weren't paying attention to the details surrounding the situation (namely that the person is tired). And even though it isn't you who would normally become the big bad wolf when you're tired, this is a wake up call to see just how you may have done some things and said some things in the heat of a sleepy stupor that really were not in your normal character. Why does this matter so much? Well, or relationships are everything. From our relationships at work, to our relationships with family, to our most intimate romantic relationships, our health and our sleep quality play a big part of them every day. Today you're going to find out what's going on behind the scene, plus some insights to make sure you're showing up as your best self in the relationships that matter most. In this episode you'll discover: What part of the brain is responsible for the aggregation of negative emotions. How your brain works to stop you from saying or doing all of the crazy things you might think up. How sleep deprivation can handicap your ability to see from another person's point of view. Why lack of sleep is clinically proven to make you overly emotional. What causes your brain to react to negative images (even though they are not a real threat). How sleep deprivation changes the way you react to perceived criticism. The surprising impact that sleep deprivation has on positive emotions. How your quality of sleep impacts your intimate relationship. Why arguments become much more likely when you're tired (this is funny, but true!). What sleep "quality" really means. Why lack of sleep can be a major problem for important jobs in the workforce. Why your partner's sleep quality can disrupt your health and happiness as well. What simple solutions you can use to reduce snoring problems. Items mentioned in this episode include: SleepSmarterBook.com <== Check out these bonuses!!! Ep 141THMS 141: How To Create Healthy Habits For A Lifetime

The life that you have right now is a result of your habits. It's not the things that you do every now and then, it's the things you do consistently that tell the real story of your life. So, if your habits are so important, how do you actually create the habits that you want and move away from the habits that aren't serving you? That's what this powerful episode is all about. Eng's Principle says, "The easier it is to do, the harder it is to change." Therefore, we must strive to make the things we want to act on each day easy, automatic, and something that comes as natural as breathing. It's true that some people feel so compelled to exercise that they will fall into depression if they don't have it. It's become easy to them; second nature even. We can all program into our mental software the information that makes our hardware consistently take action in the direction we want. And it starts by learning how we build habits in the first place. In this episode you'll discover: Why we feel so weird when our schedule gets thrown off. How patterns of behavior are connected with specific feelings. The big difference is between healthy and unhealthy habits (and how to create healthy habits more easily). Why unhealthy eating habits are so easy today. What the root cause of unhealthy habits like smoking and excessive drinking actually is. Why getting regular exercise tends to be difficult for most people. What the 4 stages of learning are (this is powerful!). How important awareness is in initiating accelerated learning. Why living a healthy lifestyle is not necessarily the answer to being fit. The critical components needed to make an engaging lifestyle change. Why our friends and family members can seem unsupportive when we make a lifestyle change. What the glymphatic system is and why it's so important. What my current daily routine is (morning rituals to evening rituals). Why it's best to use a dual extraction for medicinal mushrooms. The benefits of working out in the morning vs. the afternoon. Ep 139TMHS 139: Winning The Weight Loss Race Together - With Drew Manning

There are not a lot of positive messages in the media today. Even when great information that provides a lot of real world value for people shows up, it's often disguised in sensationalized story; something that makes you watch but doesn't necessarily make you think. I'm so proud of the friends in my life who, as of late, have been making their way onto major network television. They are great people and great teachers who are sliding their messages of positivity and health into the mainstream and it's really amazing to witness it all. No one is more fitting for this mission than my friend Drew Manning. Drew has been on my show before and absolutely blew me away with his story. He started off as a typical gym-going, strict diet-eating, protein shake-guzzling "fit" person working as a personal trainer. He eventually found that he couldn't relate in a deep way to a lot of his clients' weight struggles, so he decided to run an experiment to change that. Drew took it upon himself to gain over 70 pounds in the course of six months and the transformation that took place was shocking! Not only did he look like a totally different person, but he thought and felt like a different person, and the veil that disconnected him from understanding his clients started to be lifted. Drew knows that his stint being significantly overweight pales in comparison to those who've struggled for years with their weight. But it opened up the bridge to understanding, and his small experiment caught on like wildfire. Drew proceeded to lose those 70+ pounds over the following six months (with immense struggle and heartache) and the experience was properly dubbed the Fit2Fat2Fit experience. Now, nearly 5 years later, Drew's experience is being duplicated by fit trainers from all over the country, to put themselves into the client's shoes for a bit in hopes to find more empathy and a better way to help people become the best version of themselves. After listening to this episode, make sure to set your timer for Fit to Fat to Fit on A&E! In this episode you'll discover: What drove Drew Manning to do his fit2fat2fit experiment in the first place. Why Drew decided to put the time and energy into making his experience into a television show. What other trainers experienced as a result of following Drew's fit2fat2fit experiment. How patience can play an important role in seeing some of our biggest goals come to fruition. Why your goals get so much more juice when they involve helping other people. Why there's a lot of judgment and misunderstanding between people who are overweight and people who are fit. How your body becomes adapted to your environment. How more people can finish "the weight loss race" together. Why we tend to not value our health much until we lose it (this is powerful!). How people can lose their identity when their body composition changes. Items mentioned in this episode include: Onnit.com/Model <== Get your optimal health & performance supplements at 10% off! Ep 136TMHS 136: Making Healthy Food Affordable For Everyone - With Gunnar Lovelace

One of the biggest arguments against adopting a healthier lifestyle is the additional expenses you have to undertake. When someone makes the leap to buying organic and natural foods and personal care items, when they get to the register and look down at their receipt, their jaw just might drop right onto the conveyor belt. I've been there... a time or 72... When I first made the decision to change the way I was eating, my grocery bill effectively doubled. I justified it for years saying that it will pay me back in dividends with my health. And in many ways it did. But that doesn't mean that there isn't a better way (with an easier onramp) to make switching to a healthier lifestyle much for fun and less stressful for those who are motivated to do so. I know that many of us are the exception and we'll invest the extra money to get things we feel are much healthier. For most people, however, it just isn't worth the extra expense when you're just trying to get by, let alone thrive in our world today. Well, Gunnar Lovelace set out to do something about this. After battling with the reality that healthy foods and personal care products are at a premium, while more cost intensive toxic "commercial" products are cheaper, he decided that enough was enough. Gunnar co-founded Thrive Market and helped to grow an amazing team who are revolutionizing the way that we purchase healthy products for ourselves and our families. I'm flat-out blown away by the difference Thrive Market is making. Today's episode will tell you exactly how they are able to do everything that they do, and get YOU the healthy foods and products that you and your family deserve. In this episode you'll discover: What drove Gunnar Lovelace to find a way to make healthy food affordable for everyone. How Thrive Market is able to sell organic, natural, non-GMO food and personal care products for upwards of 50% less than natural food markets like Whole Foods. Why Thrive Market gives away a free membership along with every paid membership (this is powerful!). Why healthier foods cost so much and how companies like fast food restaurants are able to sell unhealthy food so cheap. What huge brands like Coca Cola and McDonald's are doing to get in on the healthy food action (should we trust them?). Why keeping secrets in today's market is a losing game. What healthy food and personal care items I buy for my family at Thrive Market. Why Thrive Market chooses to provide the top in each category rather than 20 brands of the same thing. Why Gunnar put such a huge emphasis on making Thrive Market a company that overdelivers on giving. How Thrive Market has been structured to be able to give so much to those in need. Why in today's world you can't afford NOT to eat healthy. How Thrive Market's business model could be a catalyst for change in countries all over the world. Ep 130TMHS 130: High Performance Nutrition And Living Lean - With Mike Dolce

Mike Dolce is a game-changer. He has helped athletes go from good to great for years, but what he’s doing to the face of sports performance is legendary. We all know that our society looks to athletes as a hallmark of what health and fitness should look like. The problem is that for decades top athletes have allowed their likeness to be slapped onto sports drinks, energy bars, breakfast cereals and other processed junk that is clinically proven to cause things like blood sugar disorders, gut dysbiosis, allergies, mineral deficiencies, and even obesity. The athletes we admire as a society often train for hours a day, yet the foods they recommend are mostly consumed by people with a sedentary lifestyle and, even worse, young children. Mike has ushered in a brand new approach to fitness and nutrition that’s based on earth-grown nutrients and real food. His athletes dominate their sport and also dominate the headlines (maybe you’ve heard of Rowdy Ronda Rousey?), which is making the rest of the world take note in a major way and making The Dolce Diet become a household name. Mike’s approach and passion are helping us to move out of the junk food and supplement dark ages and into the golden age of real food and true longevity. Find out what Mike’s tried-and-true approach to nutrition and exercise is, and the incredible story of how this legendary trainer got his start in the first place. In this episode you'll discover: What unique achievements Mike Dolce brings to MMA and why his mission is far bigger than the world of athletics. The incredible story of what inspired Mike to get into health and fitness in the first place. What Mike’s foundational approach to nutrition is. What category of food is extremely difficult to overeat. Whether or not counting calories is vital to your success. How food manufacturer’s have been able to override our body’s natural satiety mechanism and make us eat more (this is crazy!) Why The Dolce Diet puts such a large focus on longevity. Why Mike cuts weight right alongside his athlete’s (this puts him in a league of his own!) What the Mike Dolce Breakfast Bowl is and why it’s so popular. Why being warm and friendly is a conscious part of Mike’s health practice. What specific benchmarks everyone should strive to achieve in their exercise. Ep 127THMS 127: Beat Inflammation, Boost Fat Loss, And Recover Faster - The Benefits Of Cold Thermogenesis

When we think about fat burning... we think about heat; we think about sweat; we think about going all out. Sure, those things are synonymous with burning fat work, but what if there was another way? I was absolutely floored when I dug into the research regarding the benefits of cold thermogenesis. Not only is cold a powerful catalyst for burning fat, but the clinically proven impact on hormone function, accelerated recovery, and anti-aging effects should be something that all of us are interested in. This powerhouse episode details what I've learned in my research and personal experimentation over the last year. You're going to learn how, in a strange way, our genes respond favorably to temporary cold exposure. You're also going to learn how to take advantage of this in the least challenging, most beneficial ways. Check it out and make sure to share your thoughts and insights in the comments below. Are you hot for being cold? Click play, listen in, and let me know! In this episode you'll discover: What "net carbs" mean and what fiber really is. How contrast showers generate more "nerve force". How a Tony Robbins event sparked my interest in learning more about cryotherapy. What special type of fat can actually burn body fat. Where this special fat-burning fat is found on your body. The 3 ways you can increase your body's good fat to burn more bad fat. What the health benefits of contrast showers are. Why using cold showers to decrease libido is a myth (in fact, it might do the opposite!) How whole body cryotherapy works. How someone is able to eat 12,000 calories a day and still be shredded. The surprising impact that cold thermogenesis has on inflammation. How cryotherapy reduces pain and speeds recovery. Why your body produces more powerful antioxidants than any food you can find. Ep 125TMHS 125: Accelerate Your Results With The Power Of Mastermind Groups - With Guest Pat Flynn

What sets people who are achieving phenomenal results apart from those achieving average results is usually not skill or talent. People who achieve phenomenal results tend to simply do things differently from those who don't. It may be in how they sequence things (maybe they eat high-carb foods after working out instead of before working out for example: hint, hint), it may be how they compile information to use or teach, it may be how they work with other people, it may be the habits they have. One of the greatest habits I've seen in talking with some of the most successful people in the world in their respective fields is that they are proactive about being in mastermind groups. What is a mastermind group, and why are they so valuable to high achievers? Well, the answer isn't as cut and dry as it may seem. That's why I brought on one of the most successful people I know to talk about mastermind groups, how they work on the inside, and how to get the most from them. Once you find out these insights, you can be able to find or form mastermind groups of your own to 10X the results in pretty much any area of your life. Health, relationships, parenting, business, you name it. Instead of trying to always figure things out on your own, being a part of a mastermind gives you access to resources that you simply can't get anywhere else. Let's go! In this episode you'll discover: Why being of service and contribution is so intimately tied to your overall success. What huge benefit things like listening to podcasts and going to events really hold. Where the word mastermind comes from and what it actually means. What a mastermind group does when they come together (this is powerful!). How often mastermind groups need to meet. Why transparency is so important within a mastermind. Whether or not people in your mastermind should be in the same field. Examples of different types of masterminds you can create. What you can do to find or create your own mastermind group. Why it's important to have structured criteria or a "constitution" for members of your mastermind group. What incredible free tools you can use to meet up and work with your mastermind group. Critical tips to help you get the most out of your mastermind sessions. Ep 123TMHS 123: How To Discover Your Purpose And LIVE IT!

Today we are dealing with a major deficiency in our culture. Sure we’re dealing with an epidemic of nutritional deficiencies… but there is an even bigger deficiency I’m talking about. It’s a deficiency in knowing our purpose. Statistically, people who know who they are and live with a sense of purpose outlive everyone else in the population. Not only that, they experience far fewer chronic illnesses, far less memory loss, and more happiness in life overall. It kind of makes sense when you think about it. Your mind and body really work on a “use it or lose it basis”. And if you are not inspired to use your body and mental faculties each day, why on earth would they be compelled to stick around? Your purpose is literally tied to your lifeline. And today is the day to get fully connected with who you are, why you’re here, and what you’re all about. Today’s show is loaded with insights to help you reveal what Paulo Coelho would call your own “personal legend”. There’s actually a formula for uncovering your life’s purpose. It’s incredibly simple, but it’s only applicable if you’re ready for it. So, if you’re ready, click play, listen with your heart, and take action on the exercises. Let’s go! In this episode you'll discover: Why you actually get to choose what your brain is made of. How a sense of purpose impacts aging and development. How purpose means different things to different people. Why having lots of choices can become debilitating. What the formula for finding your purpose is. Why failure can be a huge launching pad to uncovering your purpose. What important questions to ask yourself in order to flesh out your purpose. How passion really ties into finding your purpose (and it’s not what you think!) Why making a decision to live your purpose is often the hardest thing to do. What the word decision really means and how to build your decision-making muscles. Important caveats about living your purpose that involves other people (you won’t be happy without this!) Why it’s CRITICAL to understand your own personal nature. Ep 122TMHS 122: Why Your Environment Shapes Your Body And How To Move Your DNA - With Guest Katy Bowman

This conversation with biomechanist and award-winning writer Katy Bowman instantly changed my life. Because I’m a very analytical person, sometimes I like to know the WHY before I jump head over heels into something. Katy broke down exactly why movement matters so much, and how myself and many others are fooling ourselves when it comes to living an active lifestyle. Even though I’ve been exercising for many years, and I even appeared to be fit on the outside, I was actually in the growing number of people who are classified as “actively sedentary”. This was a serious gut check for me. According to the research, even though exercise is awesome and incredibly good for us, it’s not tapping into our best genetic expression by a long shot. You see, even if you work out for an hour a day, you are still only four percent more active than someone who doesn’t exercise at all! That four percent absolutely makes a difference, but when it boils down to it, one hour of activity doesn’t hold a candle to what we do the other 23 hours of the day. I’ve made many strides over the years to combat this disparagement. Standing desk, periodic breaks for mobility work, and even the occasional walk in the middle of the work day. I knew these things made me feel better, but I also knew I would forgo them on a consistent basis because I was trying to get my work done first. After listening to this episode again, I immediately took a nice walk. But this walk was different from any walk I’ve ever been on. I was paying attention to things I had never noticed before. I had a real awareness of how valuable that walk was, and the small things I was doing during it that made the experience for my body even better. What you’re about to learn from Katy today will likely change your life in an empowering way forever. These insights and tips will help you to realize some of the problems that have been hiding in plain sight, and give you the tools to break through them once and for all! In this episode you'll discover: Why consume conventional animal foods can create inflammation. What a biomechanics are and how they impact your life. Why exercise and movement are not really the same thing. How your environment shapes your body. What nutritious movement is. Why walking is equivalent to a macronutrient. How your body actually adapts to things you put on your body (it’s shocking how much shoes can change you!) Why just like “junk food” there is also “junk moving”. What it means to be actively sedentary. What cellular loads are (this is important!) How killer whales in captivity can demonstrate the way our environment dictates our cellular expression. How underwear can inhibit the natural function of your organs and tissues. Why constantly self-regulating the temperature in your environment can prevent important muscles from developing. What you can do to move your DNA and add more nutritious movement to your day. Ep 121TMHS 121: Changing Our Relationship With Food, Overcoming Bulimia, And Recipes That Will Change Your Life - With George Bryant

Food matters. Eating food is one of the most intimate things that we’ll ever experience in life. You are literally taking something from outside of yourself and deciding (consciously or unconsciously) to make it a part of you. If we’re asleep to the real power of food, we won’t realize that every-single-thing we eat is changing every-single-cell in our bodies. Your genes, your DNA, your upwards of 100 trillion cells, are all in action to convert that chosen food into more you. Now, here’s the real kicker of the situation… You get to CHOOSE what you’re made out of. You can make yourself out of the most vitalizing, storied, health-giving foods in the world - or you can make yourself out of Honey Buns, Fruit Loops, Cheetos, and Skittles. Grass-fed steak, bananas, or bagels… the choice is always up to you. Now, that can be incredibly empowering, or incredibly scary depending on where your mindset is at. Navigating this world of food today takes a special kind of awareness and heart. That's why we brought on our special guest today, because he’s all heart, he developed awareness through experience, and he can make you a meal that will bring tears to your eyes (like that single tear rolling down your cheek seen only in a movie scene). Our guest today is New York Times bestselling author George Bryant (also known as the man behind Civilized Caveman Cooking). Today is going to be a real treat because the Civilized Caveman himself is here to share his story and his secrets with you. We’re going to talk about our crucial relationship with food, overcoming eating disorders, deeply impacting the lives of others, recipes that will change your life, plus a whole lot more. In this episode you'll discover: How you can be a master in the kitchen in a lot less time than you think. Why a “degree” is not the solution to helping people. Why the food you make yourself and your family matters more than anything. What a triggering event means in relationship to eating disorders. What some of the symptoms of bulimia really are. How George was able to finally overcome bulimia (this is a powerful story!) Why authenticity, congruency, and vulnerability are essential to long-term success. How to make S.M.A.R.T. commitments to yourself and others. Why it’s important to speak up in order to gain support in our lives. How our relationship with food shapes our life. Why an obsession with eating healthy can also be problematic. How our perception of food creates our experience of eating. Ep 118TMHS 118: Scary Dairy - The Pros And Cons Of Consuming Dairy Products

For a lot of us, nothing says love like some delicious milk and cookies. Or maybe it’s ice cream that you just can’t do without? Or hard cheeses? Or yogurt? Or maybe you get really sexy and dip your food into fondue? Whatever it may be that pulls on those heart strings for you, one thing is for certain: Dairy has a huge emotional connection with people in our world today. This, my health seeking friend, is at the very center of the situation… When it comes to dairy, a lot of people may be aware of the ill effects, but if you try to take it away they’ll cling on to that Ben & Jerry’s container like it’s the bonafide love of their life. They’ll say, “I’ll follow your fancy nutrition advice Mr. Health Guy, but I’m not giving up my dairy!” First of all, I’m not the guy that’s interested in taking things away from people. But if it’s causing you health problems like diabetes, high body fat, and allergies (you’re about to learn about all of that stuff in a minute) then maybe you might want to leave it alone for a while. As I step back so that I don’t get stabbed with an ice cream scooper… I’m here to share why, in fact, dairy is so addictive and at the same time so harmful for most people. Today we’re going to breakdown some long-believed myths about dairy in a way that’s going to blow your mind (and possibly stop you from blowing up bathrooms if you are lactose intolerant). In all seriousness, what you’re about to learn today will be life-changing for you and the people you care about. It’s not that dairy is inherently “bad”, it’s just the way that it’s being produced and consumed today that can cause good people a lot of problems. Enjoy the powerhouse content, but also stay tuned until the end to hear what alternatives to go with (dairy and dairy-free) that actually taste amazing. This is your body and your health, so take action to make it as great as possible! In this episode you'll discover: What enzymes are and what happens to them when they’re cooked. The shocking number of illnesses that pasteurized dairy has been associated with. What milk actually is (this is important!) How important colostrum is to human health. When humans first began domesticating animals for milk. Why the milk our ancestors consumed is not remotely close to the milk we consume today. What pasteurization is and how it was invented. Why homogenization is used in commercial milk. How selective breeding dramatically changed the quality of conventional dairy products. The difference between A1 cows and A2 cows (critical to know!) Which animals are typically utilized for milk around the world (this will surprise you!) How neurological illnesses like schizophrenia are heavily linked to a certain type of dairy. Why food is not really just food. Why the dangers of dairy from sick animals can potentially be worse than the meat from sick animals. How many people lose the ability to digest milk sugar as we age. Why cheese is highly addictive (scientifically proven!) How recombinant bovine growth hormone (rBGH) impacts the health of cows. How a bovine cancer epidemic lead to a huge recall on beef. What abnormal foods and drugs are given to conventional dairy cows. The shocking way that cow’s milk impacts type 1 diabetes. How molecular mimicry and autoimmune conditions can be caused by dairy. Why calcium and dairy do NOT necessarily create strong bones. Why raw milk might be better for those with asthma and allergies. How consumption of milk can lead to accelerated weight gain. Ep 117TMHS 117: Feeding Your Family With A Busy Lifestyle And Why You Need To Put Yourself First - With Anne Stevenson

“Most people who meet my wife quickly conclude that she is remarkable. They are right about this. She is smart, funny and thoroughly charming. Often, after hearing her speak at some function or working with her on a project, people will approach me and say something to the effect of, you know, I think the world of you, but your wife, wow!” These words from President Barack Obama couldn't describe my experience any more perfectly. I've had the honor of helping to uplift and empower countless people, but when anyone gets a chance to meet my wife, they realize where all of the really good stuff is coming from. This woman is phenomenal. She's literally a breath of fresh air whenever you walk into a room that she's in. She's gorgeous, silly, loving and beyond intelligent. I seriously think I get smarter just by some weird osmosis from being around her. Now, let's be clear. She will tell you that she didn't get this way overnight. Sure many of these qualities were innately within her, but it was through self-work, introspection, making mistakes, and self-care that she was able to become the woman she is today. The self-work came from hitting the floor in so many situations in her life that she had to choose to raise her standards or stay glued firmly to the ground. The introspection was the hard work to look within and to see where her fears were at play, and the excuses that she had leaned on to justify not reaching her potential. Making mistakes came naturally as you employ the trial and success method to figure out what works for you as a unique individual with unique circumstances. The self-care is what enabled her to feel good, strong, beautiful, and capable of gracefully handling all of challenges that life throws your way. And all of this is a small piece of her story, but today you're going to learn far more and be able to glean some life-changing insights from her example. There is a balancing force within the universe that resides within all women. When a woman feels beautiful, appreciated, and strong within herself, unbounded miracles begin to happen around her. Diane Mariechild said, “A woman is the full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform.” As men, we have to help create the conditions for the women in our lives to thrive. Because truly, nothing can give us more strength than the support of a woman who owns her real power. There are a lot of valuable insights here for all women and all men, all mom and all dads, and all people who want to do something exceptional in their lives. On top of that, we're sharing some tips our family uses to eat healthy with all of the busy stuff going on, so this episode is jam-packed with goodness. In this episode you'll discover: How the American fast food culture can be an addictive shock for foreigners. Why destiny can sometimes be found within the loving arms of a gym. How a cancer scare became a catalyst for change in our family's lives. What your body's "innate intelligence" has to do with healing. What triggered the shift in my career from working in a gym to helping people with chronic illnesses. Why doubt can sabotage the results in your healing. The weird reason that Anne makes the bed each morning (it works though!). What my wife's morning routine looks like. How Anne is able to switch gears between family, wife, and work roles so efficiently. What strategies Anne uses to feed the family healthy food with a busy lifestyle. What "back up plans" we have to eat the best food possible in a pinch. Ep 113TMHS 113: Family Fitness Ideas For Better Health, Happiness, And Connection

Mahatma Ghandi's epic quote, "Be the change you want to see in the world," begins in your own home. Our family, friends, and (most importantly) our children are mimicking and modeling us more than we know. Science has proven that we are, in fact, a direct product of our environment. You can set up an environment that cultivates healthy automatically as a side effect. Or, on the flip side, you can unconsciously be setting up an environment that breeds low energy, obesity, and poor health if you're not careful. Today's show is all about how to set things up in your life so that your family has the health, fitness, and vitality that they deserve. There are lots of fun ideas and insights here, so click play, enjoy, and put a few things into action! In this episode you'll discover: Why we all need to get plenty of "nutritious movement". The shocking amount of time that the average person spends sitting. The functions that mirror neurons have in our brains. What intuition really is. Why most people workout despite having kids. How parents end up compromising their health in order to facilitate their kid's activities. 9 different family fitness ideas that you can easily add in to your lives. How playground workouts can be fun for kids AND parents. How to utilize your local gym as your kids get older. What my 14-year old son has to say about growing up witnessing my focus on health. Ep 112TMHS 112: Fitness Versus Health, Overtraining, And Bodybuilding Secrets - With Steve Cook

There is a lot more to health than just looking good. As a health & fitness expert, it may be grounds for impeachment to say that, but sometimes the reality of things can get off track when we're bombarded with so many messages telling us otherwise. A fit body does not necessarily mean a healthy liver, clean blood, optimal brain function, and a properly functioning gastrointestinal tract among other things. There are millions of seemingly "fit" people that are significantly unhealthy when you see them from the inside out. I know because I was one of these people... When I was 16-years old I had a 6-pack, huge pecs, and could run a 4.4 40-yard dash. I looked and even performed at a high level, but inside I was a ticking time-bomb waiting to go off. If you know my story then you know that by the age of just 20 I was diagnosed with a degenerative spinal disease that eventually led to a 50 pound weight, depression, and severe pain that had me on highly toxic painkillers for almost two and a half years of my life. There was a bright light at the end of the tunnel for me, but for many others who've been mislead by the health & fitness industry, they are still struggling to find their way. Well, we are working to make a huge shift in this today! You're about to get access to someone who is making tremendous strides in uniting the worlds of fitness and real health together. He doesn't claim to be perfect, nor does he want to be, but he has a model that has really worked for him, and now he's working to share it with the world. Our guest today is IFBB physique pro Steve Cook. He has found that real health is not just what you look like on the outside, and it's not just about the right nutrition and exercise either. It's about something far deeper and more important that you're going to learn today, and I think that you're going to be totally blown away! In this episode you'll discover: Why people can get lost in only caring about their physical appearance. How health and fitness can be two totally separate things. How bodybuilding competitions can distort your self-image when you're not preparing for a show. Why you typically don't see many healthy, vibrant bodybuilders once they get older in age. What inspired Steve to really look into the meaning of happiness (this is powerful!) The very 1st thing you need to do when working to change your body. What type of exercises are most important for making great physical changes. How the amount of weight and reps you do can change your body in different ways. Whether or not women should be concerned about putting on mass when lifting heavy weights. What priority training is. The only time you should never do cardio. Why having a plan matters so much. Powerful tips about squats that you need to know about. Whether or not overtraining is something you should be concerned about. We you might want to include supersets in your fitness training. Ep 111TMHS 111: Changing Your Self-Image, Leadership, And The ABC's Of Success - With Bob Proctor

Your life is like a wheel. There are so many different components that come together to create your own personal "circle of life" (cue the Lion King Music!). These components are: Your health - your family and relationships - your career/work or mission - your finances - and your spiritual health and contribution. Life is not complete without the growth and development in all of these areas. The problem is, we are usually very off balance in one or the other based on where we are in our life. Your body might be banging, but your finances are in the toilet. You might have awesome relationships, but you're simultaneously struggling in your career. So, you see, your "circle of life" (your wheel) is usually pretty jagged and bumpy because of some parts being up and some parts being down... and this is what leads to a very bumpy ride in life. The truth is, life will have it's ups and downs, but there can be a lot more smooth sailing if you're able to grow gracefully and consistently in all areas. The question really is: How do you do it? And today, I have the perfect person to show you exactly how it's done. Many years ago I was sitting with my then girlfriend (now my wife... yep, I scored!) and we were watching this film that my amazing mother-in-law said we HAVE to watch... I honestly wasn't very interested in watching it... I had so much going on with trying to figure out how to structure my client's programs and even how I was going to pay my rent. We clicked play, and something unexpected happened. A man named Bob Proctor came on the screen with this confidence, grace, and sense of knowing that I'd never experienced before. I hung on his every word, and whatever this man had figured out, I wanted to know it too! The film broke down the hidden, but extremely real world of quantum mechanics. Not in a, "you'd better put on your pocket protector way", but in a real world "I get this" way that made me realize something profound. I realized in that moment what I had always known intuitively my entire life... That I matter. That I'm special. That I'm here to share the unique gifts that I have. That I am influencing the world around me (for the good and the not-so-good) based on the predominant thoughts that I'm carrying around in my mind. Bob told me that day, "If you can see it in your mind, you can hold it in your hand." The science in the film really spoke to my man-brain. The message in the film really spoke to my heart. Today I'm beyond honored to say that I have Bob Proctor on my show to be able to share him with you. In my mind him connecting with me is a result of hard work and effort. In my heart him connecting with me is a result of how powerful we all our to attract into our life the people, things, and resources we need to make the life we want a reality. Buckle in tight, because this is powerful! In this episode you'll discover: Why your results in life depend on your "inner game". What book transformed Bob's life over 50 years ago that he still reads today. Why you can never truly enjoy something without sharing it. How financial health impacts your health overall. How contribution can radically improve your finances (it worked for me too!) The most important and useful skill that's not being taught in schools today. Why kids are able to learn so much more than they are often given credit for. Why you need to get straight A's WAY after your schooling days are over. What acceptance REALLY means and why it's so powerful in your life. Why listening is a critical skill for success (and why many of us are doing it wrong!) How every-single-person is a leader in one way or another. Why improving your leadership capacity is so important. Whether or not someone is a "producer" or an "almost". How your self-image is actually formed. What you must do to transform your self-image. Why you should NEVER try to lose weight again (this is powerful!) What your #1 driving force really is (whether you realize it or not!) Why most people are programmed NOT to have longevity and what you can do to change that. Ep 110TMHS 110: Weight Loss Breakthroughs, Accountability, And Getting Fit2Fat2Fit - With Drew Manning

Our health resides in a delicate balance. Each and every day, the actions we take are leading us towards health or away from health depending upon the decisions we make. One week of "dirty bulking" or "falling off the wagon" can cause tremendous harm to our bodies that science is just starting to understand. No matter how healthy you may be, if you and I start guzzling strawberry sodas by the case for a week and go in to get our blood work done, we'd both likely be diagnosed with pre-diabetes pretty easily... and this is just in one week! Now, what if we were to stretch that out, say, six months? And this time, not guzzling strawberry sodas (strawberry was obviously my favorite), but instead simply consuming the processed, "wholesome" package foods that much of our society subsides on... what do you think would happen with our health? Well, my guest today knows exactly what will happen, because he had the courage to put this experiment to the test. Our guest today is New York Times bestselling author Drew Manning. He was an extremely fit guy who took the Pepsi Challenge (literally) and transformed his life in the most surprising way. His journey, from being a lifelong fit person, to packing on the fat like he was getting paid for it, to becoming incredibly fit again, became a real phenomenon that inspired countless people all over the world to take on their own journey to fit, and the results have been mind-blowing. You're about to learn from Drew exactly how he put on major fat in just six months, and exactly how he shed it all off again in another six months. You're going to learn about the inner battle that happens when you're working to get back in shape, and some powerful insights to help you (or someone you love) to conquer them. What stands out about Drew is his heart, which I'm sure you'll pick up on today. I'm truly honored to have him on and to be able to share this with you. Enjoy, listen with your head and your heart, and put these things into action for yourself. In this episode you'll discover: Why personal experience trumps everything. Why never having a weight issue created a separation between Drew and his clients. How Drew’s wife surprisingly contributed to his 70 pound weight gain (this is funny!) What foods Drew chose to eat that caused him to gain 70 pounds in just 6 months. Why the foods Drew ate changed the way his body operated. How it can be hard NOT to exercise. How exercise bulimia compares to a positive habit of exercise. How Drew’s weight gain began to affect the relationship with his wife. Why sleep apnea can lead to overeating and a drastic decrease in energy. How your energy and mood impacts your life overall. The huge revelation Drew had about why people become comfortable being unhealthy. Why the mental and emotional aspects of weight loss are far more important than any weight loss program. How drinking soda drastically impacted Drew’s mind and body. What one of the biggest causes of overeating is (and how to avoid it!) Some of the important things people need to do when recovering from food addictions and working to transform their health. How accountability can help you make breakthroughs in your health and fitness goals. The radical transformation Drew made within 30 days of his weight loss journey (with a change in his diet alone!) What Dr. Oz had to say about Drew’s liver health due to his 70 pound weight gain. The startling impact that being overweight had on Drew’s confidence in the gym. Why Drew chose to workout “smarter” instead of longer (the results speak for themselves!) Ep 109TMHS 109: Smarter Supplementation And Unorthodox Ways To Upgrade Your Health - With Ian Clark

Nutrition isn't just about what you eat. Sure, the food you eat gives you nourishment, but the things you drink, the things you put on your skin, the sunlight you receive, the movement you engage in, and many other factors all add to how you "feed" yourself on a daily basis. Recently we've discovered in science that one of the the most critical nutrients for human health is bioavailable magnesium. We've also discovered that the best way to get it is not by eating common foods or oral supplementation. Magnesium is responsible for over 300 biochemical processes within the human body. That means that there are over 300 things that your body can't do, or can't do sufficiently, when you're deficient in this key mineral. The big problem is, upwards of 80 percent of the population is deficient in magnesium. And, according to our guest, upwards of 100 percent of people are deficient if they are not actively doing things to get their magnesium levels up. Our guest today is Ian Clark, and he is one of the foremost experts in the world on magnesium, as well as many other things that create optimal health for the human body. Ian has impacted my life personally in a powerful way. Since the very first time I used the magnesium product he pioneered many years ago, I've been using it almost every day since. It travels with me, it's by my bedside, and it has given me noticeable benefits that I would rather not live without :). Today you're going to learn the inside scoop about magnesium supplementation, and it just might surprise you like it did me so many years ago. You're also going to learn about a superfood that might possibly be the most potent, complete source of nutrition in the world. Let's go! In this episode you'll discover: Why understanding epigenetics is the real key to avoiding chronic illnesses. Why magnesium might be the most important mineral for your health. What incredible functions magnesium has in your body. How ATP - the energy currency of the human body - relies on magnesium. What problems may arise by taking oral magnesium supplements (you need to know this!) Why magnesium is so important for great sleep quality. The shocking facts about marine phytoplankton. The surprising nutrient profile found in marine phytoplankton. Why I don't use a multivitamin. How Oceans Alive marine phytoplankton is actually ALIVE. Ep 108TMHS 108: How To Follow Through On Your Goals, Create Your Perfect Day, And LIVE IT - With Jairek Robbins

Knowledge is not power. Though we've been inundated with the idea that knowledge is power, it's simply not true. What good is knowledge if we don't use it? The knowledge we acquire through our life experiences, through education, through study and introspection, have all the potential power in the world. But, it's just that, potential power, until you decide to do something with it. When knowledge is applied, that's when change can happen. That's when the metaphorical mountains can be moved. That's when life as we know it is changed. So, from this day forward you'll know that knowledge APPLIED is power, and taking action on the things you've learned is the key to having the results you truly want. To help anchor this in, and to help all of us become skilled at applying the things we learn, we brought on the phenomenal Jairek Robbins. Jairek is a bestselling author and success coach who has been fortunate enough to take a masterclass on being surrounded by a lot of knowledge, but not doing anything with it. He's learned what holds himself and the rest of us back from doing the things necessary to get the results we want in our lives. Get ready because the tips and insights he's sharing today are absolutely game-changing. In this episode you'll discover: What the 33 percent rule is and how it can revolutionize your relationships. How people can have radically different views of the same situation. What triggered Jairek to finally make changes to his life to become successful and healthy. Why even if you're not ready for something, it can still "soak in" and help you. What the critical piece of "knowing" something really is. How humans can actually walk on fire (what it means and my experience doing it!) How your mind and emotions can powerfully affect your physiology. Why being emotionally broken and poor can break down your body. How you can create and live your own perfect day. How to work towards changing your body while still appreciating the one you have. Ep 106TMHS 106: Use Smart Paleo Principles To Instantly Boost Your Productivity

Peter Block said, "Why do anything if it is not going to be great?" Each and every day, many of us wake up, going through the motions, and have unknowingly selected a life of mediocrity. Getting to (and through) the things we want in our life is a product of knowing how to manage ourselves. It's not about managing time. Time is just going to happen... You can't do anything about time. You can't "manage" it. But, what you can do is manage yourself, and by doing so you'll get more done than you ever thought possible. That's what this episode is all about. If you want a great life, you're going to need to accomplish more than you are right now. It's the nature of the world we live in. Getting things done, being productive, it's the language of success in the environment we are a part of. Though we are living in new times, it's actually the past where you'll find the greatest tools to utilize your mind, body, and energy to achieve more than you ever have. Your paleolithic ancestors had a few things mastered that we have appeared to lose sight of. Your brain, even though it can operate a smart phone at the speed of light, is not much different (if at all) than your paleo relatives. Some of the most powerful things you're about to learn are how to leverage the way your brain is actually wired up, how to put successful activities on automatic, and how to eliminate the distractions that trip so many of us up. After listening, remember that you can get access to the video and slides from this episode, plus my productivity checklist right here. This episode was inspired by my recent presentation at Paleo f(x), so I hope you enjoy it and takeaway lots of value to create better days and a better life from this day forward. In this episode you'll discover: Why being highly productive is so difficult in our world today. The #1 thing you need to do starting RIGHT NOW to radically increase your productivity. Why specialization was once critical to the survival of humanity. How myelin in your brain works to make you more or less efficient. The shocking truth about multitasking. How to utilize chunking to improve the way your brain works to get more done. How to get more done in your day by working LESS. What practice great athletes to great surgeons use to improve their results. How repetition actually works to strengthen your brain. Why rest and recreation is so important to productivity. Ep 105TMHS 105: Uncover The Perfect Workout For Yourself, Build Confidence, And Be Awesome - With Chalene Johnson

Confidence is everything. Confidence is the sole underpinning of every action we take in our lives. Truly, we wouldn't do anything if we didn't believe, even a little bit, that we will succeed in making it happen. Confidence does not mean that you don't have fear. This is the big mistake that trips most people up. Fear is natural. Fear is normal. Fear is actually the foundation on which incredible confidence can be built. Without fear we may not take something seriously and truly prepare. Without confidence there is no action at all. If anyone knows a thing or two about building confidence, it's New York Times bestselling author Chalene Johnson. She's built an empire from the ground up, in multiple highly competitive industries, looking fear in the face the whole way. Today she's here to share her most powerful secrets for building your self-confidence and self-love. Some of these tips may surprise you, but you definitely can't argue with the results. She is also going to share a powerful exercise that will help you figure out the perfect workout for yourself. When I did the exercise I was surprised what came up, but it put a huge smile on my face and lots of excitement because it made perfect sense. Chalene is a phenomenon, and I'm truly honored to be able to share this with you. But, remember, the tips don't work unless you work it. So, take action on what you learn so that you can see the results firsthand for yourself! In this episode you'll discover: What the word "holistic" really means. What success really looks like "behind the scenes". How Chalene took action to solve a problem in the fitness industry. What a "Soulmate Workout" is and how to find yours. How your perception determines whether exercise is a punishment or reward. Why Chalene doesn't diet down for exercise videos. Why you might want to research before you choose a workout. A powerful exercise to connect with the fitness that fits you. Why self-love is more critical than people realize. How to break away from negative self-talk. Why your brain is hardwired to look for problems. How to build your self-confidence (and how it can go wrong!). Ep 104TMHS 104: How To Increase Your Health And Happiness Thermostat - With Gretchen Rubin

There's a wonderful quote from James Openheim that says, "The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance; the wise grows it under his feet." This statement speaks to the reality that many of us live in in which we constantly seek happiness "someday" once our prerequisites for happiness are met. Once I get the right job I'll be happy. Once I get the right partner I'll be happy. Once I graduate I'll be happy. Once I make more money I'll be happy. Once I start a family I'll be happy. Once my kids are grown and successful I'll be happy. Once I retire I'll be happy. These are just some of the things that we'll tell ourselves (often unconsciously) that set the thermostat for exactly how happy we'll be in our day-to-day lives. The harsh reality is this: None of these things will intrinsically bring you happiness, and ALL of these things come along with issues, challenges, and conditions of their own that will likely cause you to push happiness off, yet again, to the future. If your emotional state is always based on your circumstances, life has an interesting way of pushing things off and continuing to dangle the happiness carrot in front of your face, even when you get what you think you really wanted. Bottomline, happiness is a choice, a practice, and moldable system within itself. It's a feeling you always have access to. And there are certain things you can do in your life, starting now, to boost the level of your happiness thermostat. Today you're going to hear from Gretchen Rubin, author of the New York Times bestselling book The Happiness Project. She's made happiness a study, and it's paying off big time for people young, old, and everywhere in between. You can be happier now, and she's going to share the proven tips to help you do it. But why does boosting our level of happiness matter anyway? Well, according to the research, happier people tend to be more successful, they tend to have better relationships, they tend to have better health and fitness, and they tend to be of greater service in their communities and the world at large. To make it simple, it's just a little bit easier to take action in our lives when we have a happy disposition. It's not true in 100 percent of the situations in our lives, but feeling good definitely gives us an edge. Abraham Lincoln said, "Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be." It's time for you to take the power of your own happiness in your hands and truly enjoy the health and happiness you deserve. In this episode you'll discover: Why health and happiness are intimately connected. How we can get a surprising boost of joy from clearing out clutter. How utilizing the sense of smell can instantly boost happiness. Why sleep deprivation can be a big trigger for negative emotions. How your body can get a "second wind" of energy even when you're tired. Whether or not your level of happiness is genetic. Why negative emotions are extremely important for happiness (if you use them correctly!) How happiness relates to contribution. How novelty and new challenges can impact your happiness. What you can do to push through barriers you're faced with on your road to happiness. How structuring your day a certain way can bring you more happiness. Why playtime is vital to your health. Whether or not money can actually buy happiness (this may surprise you!) Items mentioned in this episode include: Onnit.com/Model <== Get your optimal health & performance supplements at 10% off! Ep 103TMHS 103: How To Develop Mental And Emotional Fitness

The formula for fitness is pretty simple: Eat good food + Get plenty of movement + Sleep like you're getting paid for it = The body and health you desire Of course, there can be some more variables thrown in the mix, like hormones and environmental toxicity, but for the most part it's as simple as this. Being that it's so simple, why is it that so many people are struggling to have the body and health that they want? It's not complicated to have what we want at first glance... but what makes it complicated is something far more mighty than the power of food or exercise. What trumps everything is the power of your mind. It's the inner game that determines your outer game. It's your mental and emotional fitness that truly determines your outer health and fitness. This is where the real shifts need to happen. And that's what today's show is all about. If we're going to live a great life, then we can't just stop at the acquisition of a great body. What about phenomenal relationships? What about a satisfying career? What about abundant finances and resources to do the things you want in your life? All of this matters. And all of this is a result of developing the real mental and emotional fitness to make it happen. You can have, do and be practically anything you want. It starts right now by using these strategies to live the life you truly deserve! In this episode you'll discover: Why the formula for having great health is simple, yet most people can't do it. Why the negative voice in your head can actually teach you a lot. How simply moving forward can create huge momentum for you. Why doing things beyond the edge of your capability is so transformative. How looking back on your life can be extremely beneficial OR extremely depressing. How to instantly shift the perception about your past and make it more valuable. How to get decades of experience in just a matter of days. What some of the most successful people in the world do that others are afraid of. What surprising thing our brains do automatically when we're talking with other people (this is incredible!) How cells found in the human heart can tell us a lot about our emotional wellness. Ep 102TMHS 102: Creating Unstoppable Success And The Miracle Morning - With Hal Elrod

There are four words in the human language that are destroying people's lives everyday. To realize what these four words are, we have to first realize that we are not a victim of our circumstances, but rather a victim of our own beliefs that are playing havoc in our minds. One of the biggest issues with achieving what we want is a misdirected self-confidence. There is a big difference between a healthy self-assuredness and being closed-minded to something that could change your life. Those four extremely dangerous words in the human language are: "I already know that." The insight about these four dangerous words was one of the most powerful things that bestselling author and renown Success Coach Hal Elrod said to me during our conversation. He's speaking of a universal truth that all of us can ignore from time-to-time. When we feel like we've already mastered something, or that we've "got it handled", or that it's old news and not what we need, we immediately shut ourselves off from the possibility of new growth and success. The reality is, we may think we already know something, but if we're not applying it in our lives then it's really just a theory. It's not something we truly know. Knowledge is not power. The application of knowledge is power. So today you're going to learn how to apply the things you want on a consistent basis to lead you to the life you truly deserve. Hal is an amazing teacher with an amazing story, and knows firsthand the value of having a daily strategy for success and consistent execution. This can be a real game-changer to say the least. So, grab a notebook, listen in, and find out how creating miracle days begins with creating Miracles Mornings. In this episode you'll discover: How challenges and setbacks can lead to better results in your life. Why getting your shoes from Payless can eventually make you rich. How Hal survived a devastating car accident where he was pronounced dead for 6 minutes. How Hal's attitude in the hospital enabled him to walk again when the doctors said it was not going to happen. What the "5-Minute Rule" is and why it's so effective for getting through challenges. How acceptance of what is can unlock the door to success and happiness. Why you must line up your LC (Life Conditions) and BP (BluePrint) for true life fulfillment. What exercise has to do with success in business and other areas of life. What The Miracle Morning is and how to create your own each day. What the 6 Life SAVERS are. Why some of the most surprising financial success icons attribute their results to meditation. The #1 mistake people make with visualization. A clinically proven way to increase your focus. What blocks most people from real success in their lives. Ep 101THMS 101: Natural Treatments For Asthma And How To Reset Your Immune System

It's called a medical paradox.... According to Harvard Medical School, despite an ever growing arsenal of powerful drugs and a deeper understanding of asthma symptoms, more people are dying from the disease than ever. It's depressing effects hit hardest in the millions of children that are living with asthma. There are over 7 million children with asthma in the U.S. alone, and that number is growing steadily each day. Einstein said, "We can not solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them." So, to find a real solution for asthma, we have to step outside the conventional paradigm that is (admittedly) failing anyway. There are numerous natural treatments for asthma that are proven to be effective, but you may never hear about them if you don't know the right place to look. We are moving past the isolation-based thinking of finding more treatments for asthma symptoms and, instead, working intelligently to remove the underlying cause of the disease itself. That's what today's powerhouse episode is all about. We're talking eliminating inflammation, reseting your immune system, plus a whole lot more. This one can save lives and eliminate a whole lot of emergency room visits, so please remember to share! In this episode you'll discover: Shocking statistics about the rapid growth of asthma. Why conventional medicine is baffled by the growth of asthma-related deaths. What an asthma attack looks and feels like. What primary triggers cause the nervous system to generate asthma symptoms. How I overcame my struggles with asthma and seasonal hay fever. What the main cause of asthma really is. How immune system function is directly related to asthma symptoms. The 5 steps to reverse and treat asthma naturally. How food allergies and food sensitivities are linked to asthma. What The Big 4 Culprits behind food allergies are. How autoimmune conditions are related to gut health. What foods to pull out to reduce inflammation and eliminate asthma symptoms. What roll mucus plays in our health and how it can go wrong. Shocking research showing that a certain type of milk can help reduce asthma issues. What environmental factors can trigger asthma symptoms. What foods and supplements help to prevent asthma symptoms. The #1 ranked botanical for treating asthma. Why omega 3 fatty acids have such a powerful impact on asthma.
