Fraser Institute research shows that increasing the minimum wage does not help the working poor—the very people the government is trying to help by increasing the wage—but actually results in lost jobs (and fewer hours) for young people getting their first work experience. It also leads to higher prices, which perversely, affect low-income households more than high-income households. He will continue to be dependent for his mobility as he grows. The federal government wants to make it easier for consumers to choose healthy foods with front-of-package warnings on items that contain high levels of sodium, sugar or saturated fat.
