We have all suffered losses these past two years, but the most painful losses of all involve relationships. It is hard to be happy when our core relationships are not healthy. So as we enter the holiday season, perhaps it is time for a reset. Perhaps it is time to give peace a chance.

Harvest Weekend is the primary way The Hills Church raises funds to support our missionaries, church plants, and partner organizations as we pursue The Great Commission locally and around the world. This message from one of our church planters, Kenny Hart, from The Gathering Harlem takes a look at Matthew 9:35-38 where Jesus said, "The harvest is great, but the workers are few."

When God grants a victory it is not only a time to celebrate, it is also a time to commit to generosity so more victories can come.

Nehemiah knew that the real goal was not to build a wall, but to build a people. He led the nation to recommit to obeying God's Word and "living differently" for the sake of their future.

Before Nehemiah could build a wall he had to build a team. He did so by calling a diverse community to unite behind a common vision. He made sure there was a place for everyone to participate in the great work God had given them to do.

"New" wears off quickly, especially when opposition, hardship, and exhaustion arise. But the goal of the visionary is not to start; it is to finish.

Nehemiah prayed believing God would open a door, and when that door opened he was prepared. People of vision expect God to create opportunities, and they expect those opportunities to be of the "all things are possible with God" variety. This teaching will remind the congregation God wants to see great things done in His name, and that we must believe and strategize for those God-created opportunities.

We’ve lost a lot in these last 18 months, but what are we willingly sacrificing because of our relationship with Christ? It’s good to evaluate our priorities as we answer the call to follow Jesus.

We serve a God that is alive, active & speaking to people all over the world. So why is it that we live as if our God is dead, distant and silent? God wants to encounter you, but he doesn't stop there. He wants you to be a walking encounter for others.

Habakkuk understood that through worship and praise we learn how to remain loyal to God because of who He is, not just because of what He does. Through worship we get a glimpse of a God who is bigger than our questions.

Easter is not about reset, it's about rebirth. It's not an opportunity to go back to what was, it's an invitation to lean into what ought to be.

True religion is not designed, it's received. It is a submission to sacred scriptures, observance of sacraments, and participation in community that observers can encounter God.

The first half of Mark's Gospel has been swirling around one main question: Who is Jesus of Nazareth? In this pivotal scene, we get an answer that the disciples only half understand.

When Jesus spoke of traditions he referred to beliefs and practices outside the scripture, not inside the scriptures. The idea that man was made for tradition needs to be second-guessed.

Jesus always viewed reality through the lens of a greater reality by bringing God into the equation. This is why he second-guessed most understanding of what might be possible.

Even though we don't like to think about death, life has a way of bringig up the subject. For Jairus, that meant he had to decide who he was going to second-guess.

When Jesus becomes "friends with sinners", He is second guessed by others around him.

When Jesus first encounters religious leaders, their second-guessing gets at the heart of who Jesus is and what He has authority to give.

It was instant success, at least from the disciple's perspective. Jesus' first followers were also the first to question the priorities of his mission.

God tells us to make disciples in every nation and tell the next generations of his mighty power and majesty. Today we will hear how that relates to the next vision of The Hills Church.
