S2 Ep 31Grieving The Loss of a Childhood: Unmothered with Phylis Mantelli

This episode is for all who didn't have a role model of a mother in their life. It speaks to the hurt and grief that grows when your mom didn't meet your needs when you needed her the most. Phyllis Mantelli, Author of Unmothered- Life With a Mom Who Couldn't Love Me is my guest. Phylis describes the loss of her childhood and the grief that followed her into her adult life. But the story doesn't end there. Phylis shows us it is possible to love those who caused us harm or left us in dangerously vulnerable circumstances. She describes feeling a prescence with her that she didn't understand until she was an adult and a mom herself. It's a story of redemption and breaking generational dysfunction. It's a story of forgiveness that is only possible through the eyes of the Father. S1 Ep 18When Bad Things Happen to Good People with George Ross

Why Bad Things Happen to Good People. When I began to pray about who to ask for this episode, I was looking for someone that has a heart for the broken hearted. Someone who could convey the heart of God in a way that could be understood by everyone. Someone who could reflect the God of compassion who cares deeply about our sorrows and to help us to understand the mystery of God's Sovereignty, with the help of the Holy Spirit I found the right person. My Guest Today Is George Ross.He and Sue Linn have been married and in ministry together for 44 years. George and his family moved from Las Vegas, Nevada in March of 1999 to begin serving at Northside Christian Church. He has served there for the past 24 years. His current role is Teaching Pastor. S1 Ep 17Family Reunion-Bonus Part 1 of 3-The Joseph Series-Joseph Family Comes To Town

Bonus Part 1 -Family Reunion in the Joseph series. When I was preparing for these episodes I was trying to figure out a way to get them all in less than 30 minutes. And it just is not possible guys. I am here to teach the word of God and I'm excited about it. This bonus section will be divided into three parts Joseph's family comes to town looking for food. We see the dreams come true that Joseph had that made his brothers hate him and plot to kill him. The brother's don't recognize Joseph, but oh, does he recognize them. The story is fascinating! And applicable to our grief journeys. Joseph for the first time in all his troubles wept when he saw his family. His family roots were deep and he had been deeply wounded by their betrayal. Many of you know that I've written a devotion book, Finding Hope and Healing in the Midst of Grief is a 30 day devotional with two bonus devotions. One from my daughter, Sarah, from the perspective of the grieving sibling. Then one from our daughter-in-law Erica, the grieving spouse. Very rich material there from these girls. S1 Ep 13Feeling Forsaken? When Will This End? Part 3 of 4

Welcome back to the Joseph series, Feeling Forsaken; Time In Prison, Part 3 or 4. There's a thought provoking question in the middle of the episode, that I want you to take some time and think about. Do you believe God is going to bring a harvest from your brokenness, beauty from your ashes, a crown of righteousness, a joyous blessing instead of mourning? I want you to ponder it in your heart. I want you to pray about it. I want you to talk to God about it. Tell him what your fear is. Tell him what keeps you awake at night. If you don't believe he's capable of bringing those promises into your life. Tell him! Then ask him to help you believe. Those promises come from Psalm chapter 126: 5-6 and Isaiah 61:3. Open your Bible and read them. If you don't have a Bible, download the YouVersion Bible app. It's free. I use it all the time. Read the verses and then pray them back to God, asking Him to bring about those promises in your life. I would love to hear from you and your thoughts about the question. And if you're willing. Share your answer with me. My email is [email protected]. You can email me directly or go to my website and contact me from there. Today, we're going to spend a few moments with Joseph's story to see how it relates to our grief journeys. What an incredible rollercoaster of event he experiences. This is a four-part series. As I mentioned in the beginning, in the next episode, we're going to see how God uses his time in prison, it's titled the Dreamer Revealed. I've added three bonus episodes titled the Family Reunion. I only planned guys to make it one episode, but God had another plan. You won't want to miss these bonus episodes as it all comes full circle in Joseph's life. S1 Ep 12Is Heaven Real ? with Brian Combs

Welcome back to the show. Guys. Today's episode is titled Is Heaven Real, and I can't wait to share it with you. If you have been crushed by life, and you're not sure if there's anything past the physical part of what we can see in the here and now, this episode is for you. We mentioned two authors during the episode. I want to give you that information, one is Lee Strobel, he's written the Case for Christ and the Case for Heaven. His whole career was an investigative journalist. He decided to research the biblical claims about Jesus because his wife became a Christian. His story is incredible because he was not a happy man, when his wife became a Christian. He wasn't planning on that when they got married, but because of that, he began to do some research. Prompted by his investigation, he became a Christian at the age of 29. Lee Strobel is a detailed oriented person who will share exactly how he came to his conclusions. The second author that I mentioned is John Burke. He is a New York times bestselling author of Imagine Heaven. That's the book that I referenced today and it's based on near-death experiences. I have read that book as well as the Case for Heaven, and I was intrigued so much by them. That is where this episode was born from. He also authored No Perfect People Allowed, Soul Revolution and Unshockable Love. As an international speaker, he has been to 20 different countries teaching on leadership and spiritual growth. He started out his investigation as an agnostic. Through that investigation he became a believer in Christ. He is an engineer and has the mind of a scientist. So for him, he had to prove that Jesus and God and Heaven all existed through the lens of science. If that's how your mind works, this book is for you. I will share both of those books and their links in the show notes. And also guys, I have written a book called Finding Hope and Healing in the Midst of Grief. It is based on my spiritual journey after the death of my son, Andrew. It's written in the form of a devotion book because I found my answers in the word of God. I will take you on the spiritual journey that I was taken on to be able to understand and get answers to my questions. I will show you what I learned through the eyes of grief. My guest is Brian Combs. And , I can't wait for you to hear what he has to say. S1 Ep 8Being A Friend To The Broken Hearted

Today my guest are Tammy Rominger and Kerry Newland. They are going to walk you through how to be a friend to the broken hearted. Kerry shares how an early encounter with grief began to shape her heart of compassion. When her daugter was born with a life threatenning condition she experienced the love and support of so many. From this experience a desire grew within her to be the hands and feet of Jesus to others. Tammy is a pediatric RN and nuturer by nature. Sisters by God's design ,not only as a family but by the Holy Spirit. Tammy's love and compassion for others radiates from the inside out. Walking through the events in their life as sisters has bonded them in a unique way. A power house indeed and a wealth of knowledge. Between the two of them you will hear a heart of compassion, learned from experience. Together they are the shining example of comforting others with the comfort Jesus himself showed them. S1 Ep 7Hopelessness Keeping You Trapped In Despair? |What Grieving Moms Need To Know

Today I'm sharing a recording I made while writing the devotion book: Finding Hope and Healing in The Midst of Grief. The book is based on my spiritual journey after the loss of our son Andrew. It includes writings from my journal that I kept for the the first year after his death. The grief expressed is raw and real and will lead you to the hope I found in Jesus through His word. Listen is as we learn what's on the other side of the trust through the eyes of Ruth and Naomi.
