Bonus Episode - Coach Zach Smith

I've been a fan of Ohio State Football since I was in the 2nd Grade. So last season, when Urban Meyer was put in a difficult position due to a "report" from a "journalist" named Brett McMurphy, in regards to an Assistant Coach on the staff, I was worried. What concerned me the most though was the fact that so many people happened to run with the report that was given, before any of the full facts had been presented, and for some reason, I had it in the back of my mind, that this Assistant Coach wasn't this "bad guy" which McMurphy had tried to make him out to be. So I began following Zach Smith and his journey upon his release from the Ohio State Football program. Today I had the marvelous opportunity to speak with him and get his take on the whole situation from last year and what his thoughts are on journalists and the importance of reporting news accurately. We'll also get some insight on his new podcast, the Menace 2 Society Podcast which is incredible for ANY College Football Fan. Take some time out of your schedule to listen to this episode today! You'll be glad that you did!

Ep 116Episode 116: Dick Hartzell - The Rubberband Man

Coach Dick Hartzell noticed something when he was coaching young men. He noticed there was a different way to help them improve their explosiveness and vertical leap. He has the experience with some major organizations and big named athletes. He'll be launching his own website here in the near future as well so stay tuned. Also, make sure to listen to the full interview because Coach Hartzell will educate us on his theory of why you should NOT ice your ankles when you sprain them! (Hint: He's got his own technique that has been proven to work... even on major athletes such as Ted Ginn Jr.) _______________________________________________________ Where to Find Me: iTunes - https://apple.co/2syRPkw Spotify - http://spoti.fi/2oVVZ36 Stitcher - http://bit.ly/2sR9m90 TuneIn - http://bit.ly/2Fx5UlU

Episode 114: Toby Basner - Former MLB Umpire

Most of us who go through sports, have a "love/hate" relationship with the officials. They are truly there to do their job and help support the integrity of the game, but often times they get a lot of heat for the calls they either make or don't make (just ask the New Orleans Saints). It's tough to be an official, especially at the highest level. Today we speak to a former MLB Umpire about his journey being on the field and making calls. We'll discuss the stressful situations they are in, whether or not they should have to report to the media, the ejections that he's made, best ballparks he's been to, etc. Toby Basner floated through the minors and majors for six years as an umpire and has quite the story to share with the rest of us. Bonus Episode - June 3rd, 2019 - NBA Finals Recap for Games 1 and 2

These Finals are strange... Just strange so far. Probably because I'm still trying to get used to the Cavs not being there and I'm trying to get used to a series that I thought the Raptors didn't stand a chance in originally. Game 1 - Raptors shocked the world and came out swinging. Game 2 - Warriors answered with some minor adjustments and big games from some role players. Why is Steve Kerr such a good coach? Episode 89 - Kyle Lamb - College Football and THE Ohio State Buckeyes

Before the college football season began, there was a Twitter battle amongst those who sided with Brett McMurphy and those who sided with Urban Meyer when the news broke of the former assistant, Zach Smith's alleged domestic violence "charges" that came out. It was at this time I discovered Kyle Lamb, a journalist from Ohio who covers the Buckeyes on the Unscripted Ohio Podcast. The way in which Kyle approached the entire situation was amazing (which we'll discuss today). I began following Kyle and have since kept up with his work as it is truly awesome to witness what he does to continuously cover College Football with integrity. Join us today as we discuss this past season in College Football and discuss THE Ohio State Buckeyes. It's great when you can get someone with such great experience to join you on your show to bring value to the listeners. That is EXACTLY what Kyle brings. Episode 88: Mike Prater and Damon Amendolara

This episode is very special as we bring on two amazing guests to share their knowledge with The Gametime Guru listeners. A few months back we interviewed Alex Gold in which we were able to hear more about his background and his show, which at the time was called "The Drive" on ESPN Boise. Just a few short weeks later, ESPN Boise announced they would no longer be doing work in the treasure valley and instead made a change to an alternative rock station. This left just one major sports station to cover sports locally in Boise. We bring on KTIK's very own, Mike Prater to the show to discuss this and give us his perspective on the matter. Mike brings years of experience to the table as he's worked in sports for quite some time. My co-host, C.C. Hawkley conducts an amazing interview with Mike and it is well worth the listen. In that interview C.C. and Mike discuss the fall of ESPN Boise and also the partnership with CBS Sports Radio. How did CBS step up to the plate? Well one of the ways is by providing some amazing sports coverage from the national level. In the mornings, we get to hear from Damon Amendolara each morning on "The D.A. Show." Just a few months ago, the crew from "The D.A. Show" came to Boise to do a tour and I had an amazing opportunity of speaking with D.A. for just two short minutes. They are two minutes I'll never forget as I was able to be recorded, on record, with someone I look up to in the industry. This is a great episode as you'll hear from me, C.C., Mike, and D.A.
