Connecticut Weather 3/15 - Morning - Sunny Day Surprise Today

Good morning. Connecticut. I'm Aaron Jolly. We're catching a real break today, but don't get used to it. High pressure is giving us one last quiet afternoon. You'll see partly sunny skies along the coast and in Eastern Connecticut with highs near 45 degrees. Head inland to Central Connecticut and it warms up a touch more. Hartford tops out near 47 degrees today. That's exactly normal for mid-March. As the sun sets. Here's the catch. The weather turns messy tonight. Rain showers develop after 2 A.M. The entire state sees rain by dawn. Monday is going to be a soaker. Here comes one to two inches of rain. That much water could flood small streams and poor drainage areas. It gets windy too. Southeast winds gust up to 40 miles an hour. Monday night brings a risk of thunderstorms. Some storms could produce heavy rain. The cold front sweeps through Tuesday morning. We dry out quickly but the cold air rushes back in. Highs Tuesday only reach the low 40s. Temperatures crash Tuesday night. Lows drop to 21 degrees in Hartford. The shore holds in the mid 20s. Wednesday stays chilly with highs in the upper 30s under mostly sunny skies. High pressure builds in for the end of the week. We slowly warm back to near 50 degrees by Friday. See you this afternoon.

🚨 FLOOD WARNING - Connecticut Weather 3/14 - Evening

Good evening. Connecticut. I'm Aaron Jolly. Happy Saturday, folks. We're currently sitting at a pleasant 40 degrees under clear skies. Today's high hits 47 degrees — right where we should be for mid-March. It's a classic spring awakening day out there. As the sun sets. If you step outside tonight, you'll notice a bite in the air. Down along the coast in Bridgeport and New London, expect mostly clear skies. The low drops to 30 degrees, northwest winds will gust up to 29 miles an hour. Inland across Central Connecticut, including Hartford, the sky stays mostly clear, the temperature falls to about 28 degrees overnight. Eastern Connecticut, including Willimantic, also sees mostly clear conditions with a low around 29 degrees. Sunday brings a mix of sun and clouds. Highs range from 45 degrees along the coast to 47 degrees inland. Moving on. But here's the big story, a powerful storm system is targeting Connecticut for Monday. You'll want to pay attention to this one, a warm front lifts north Sunday night, bringing rain after midnight. We could see 1 to 2 inches of rain, this may lead to minor flooding of rivers and poor drainage areas. The wind is the other major concern, gusts could reach 50 miles an hour. There's even a slight risk for severe thunderstorms. Behind the front. Tuesday turns much colder, highs only reach the low 40s. The cold peaks Tuesday night and Wednesday, lows drop into the teens and 20s. Highs Wednesday struggle to reach the upper 30s. Looking ahead. Before I go, a look back at this date in 1993. The Superstorm of 1993 brought 18 inches of snow and 60 mile an hour winds to Connecticut. Quite a contrast to today. See you tomorrow.

Connecticut Weather 3/9 Midday - 27° Above Normal

Good afternoon. Connecticut. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you'll feel 36 degrees. But here's the twist. We're about to jump 30 degrees into unseasonable warmth that's 27 degrees above normal for early March. Sunshine owns the day. Hartford hits 66 degrees by mid-afternoon — that's springlike warmth you weren't expecting. The coast stays cooler at 58 thanks to ocean breezes. Eastern Connecticut splits the difference at 57. Light south winds gust to 21 miles an hour inland. Tonight reality checks back in. Lows drop to 35 in Hartford, 37 along the coast, 36 out east. Patchy fog develops after 2 A.M., especially near the shoreline. Tuesday cranks up the heat even more. Hartford reaches 72 degrees — flirting with record territory. The coast stays cooler at 61 thanks to onshore flow. Eastern areas see 59. Morning fog clears by 10 A.M., then sunshine takes over. Wednesday brings clouds back as moisture streams north. Highs reach the mid-50s to low 60s, with a slight chance of showers. The real action arrives Wednesday night into Thursday. Rain moves in, likely heavy at times, before a cold front sweeps through Thursday morning. That front could bring a brief mix of rain and snow on its back edge, especially inland. Winds gust to 28 miles an hour. Friday turns noticeably cooler — highs only in the low 40s — with lingering snow showers possible in higher terrain. The weekend stays unsettled with another system approaching. Enjoy this taste of spring while it lasts. See you this evening.

Connecticut Weather 3/8 Midday - 26° Above Normal

Good afternoon. Connecticut. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside right now and you'll feel that damp chill clinging to the air. We picked up about three-hundredths of an inch overnight. And light drizzle is still hanging around this morning. But. This is winter's last stand. A warm front is pushing through. And behind it? Spring warmth is about to crash the party. Eastern Connecticut takes the wettest punch this morning. Sixty percent chance of showers through early afternoon with patchy fog. High of 57 degrees. Central areas get mostly cloudy skies with fog clearing by late morning, topping out near 59. The coast sees a few lingering showers before 8 A.M., then mostly cloudy. High near 58. Tonight, skies clear statewide. Lows drop to 35 degrees as drier air finally settles in. Monday brings the kind of sunshine we haven't seen since fall. Highs hit 56 at the coast, 64 in central areas. And 56 out east. That's 26 degrees above normal for early March. Perfect weather for a lunchtime walk if you ask me. Tuesday and Wednesday turn unseasonably warm with highs climbing into the upper 60s inland. We could even touch 70 in the Connecticut River valley. The coast stays cooler in the 50s thanks to that ocean breeze. Thursday brings a strong frontal system with widespread rain and gusty winds. Behind that front, temperatures crash back to reality. Highs in the 40s Friday and Saturday. Don't forget — clocks spring forward one hour tonight. You'll lose an hour of sleep, but we're gaining daylight. Sunset tonight at 6:50 P.M. Charge your phone before bed. You'll need that alarm working tomorrow morning. See you this evening.

Connecticut Weather 3/8 Morning - 26° Above Normal

Good morning. Connecticut. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you'll feel that damp, clingy chill. We're at 46 degrees with drizzle hanging around from overnight fog and scattered showers. But that's about to flip. Dense fog advisory runs until 9 A.M. Along the coast. If you're driving early, take it slow. Visibility's down to a quarter mile in spots. Those showers wrap up by mid-morning as a cold front slides offshore. Behind it? Partial clearing works in from northwest to southeast through the afternoon. Now for the warmth. Today's high of 59 degrees is 26 degrees above normal for early March. That's serious springtime energy. The coast tops out near 58 around 3 P.M. Central Connecticut warms to 59 by early afternoon. Eastern Connecticut reaches 57 by mid-afternoon. Inland areas could see some sunshine breaking through, while the coast stays cloudier longer. Tonight clears out nicely. Lows drop to the mid-30s statewide under partly cloudy skies. Light west winds keep things calm. Monday brings the real show. Sunshine and southerly breezes push highs to 56 along the coast, 64 inland across central Connecticut. And 56 in the east. We're gaining 2 minutes and 48 seconds of daylight today. Spring's coming fast. Here's your heads-up for the week. Tuesday delivers the warmest day — sunny with highs climbing to 59 near the coast, 67 inland. Some spots could flirt with 70. Wednesday stays mild but cloudier, upper 50s to low 60s. Thursday's when things flip. Rain showers likely with a cold front dropping temps back to the low 50s. Behind that? A sharp cooldown Thursday night into Friday with lows crashing to the upper 20s inland. If you're enjoying these daily updates, a quick rating helps more than you'd think. See you this afternoon.

Connecticut Weather 3/7 Morning - Drizzle & Dreamy

Good morning. Connecticut. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you’ll feel that damp, clinging chill. We're sitting at 39 degrees under gray skies with fog lingering like a guest who won't leave. But don't let the gloom fool you. This is classic early March in Connecticut: one foot in winter, the other reaching for spring. Today is just the calm before the warmth. In Here’s reality, today we stay near normal, topping out around 47 degrees. But by tomorrow? We’re talking a jump to near 60 degrees. That's a 25 degrees-degree swing in 24 hours. It’s like the atmosphere is flipping a switch from "cozy sweater" to "roll down the windows." Let’s look at your Saturday timeline. Along the coast, you’re dealing with drizzle and patchy fog through mid-morning. Visibility could drop under a mile, so take it slow on the roads. You’ll nudge up to 44 degrees today, but the real story happens tonight. Rain showers move in after 10 P.M., peaking around 1 A.M. With a better than a chance. Lows hover in the low 40s, but here’s the twist: temperatures actually *rise* overnight, climbing toward 45 by sunrise. In Hartford and the I-84 corridor, that fog burns off by early afternoon. You hit 47 degrees today, right where you should be. But south winds at 7 to 10 miles an hour are already fetching warmer air. Rain is likely after 8 P.M. Tonight. And just like the coast, you’ll wake up warmer than you went to bed—climbing into the upper 40s by dawn. Eastern Connecticut, you’re stuck at 44 degrees today with fog hanging tough. But tonight’s rain and southwesterly nudge temps upward overnight. By Sunday morning, you’re flirting with 50 degrees before the sun even comes up. Sunday brings the payoff. Highs soar to 61 in central Connecticut—about 25 degrees above normal. It’s the kind of day that tricks you into thinking winter’s over. But hold your applause. The week ahead is a rollercoaster. Monday and Tuesday bring record-challenging warmth—hitting near 69 degrees on Tuesday. Then Wednesday crashes the party with rain and a return to the 50s. By Thursday? We’re talking a dramatic cooldown to the upper 20s. That’s a 40-degree drop in 48 hours. Classic New England. Keep that umbrella handy for the weekend rain, but enjoy the tease of spring. See you this afternoon.

Connecticut Weather 3/6 Morning - 32° Below Normal

Good morning. Connecticut. I'm Aaron Jolly. Fresh snow greeted you this morning. We picked up just under an inch overnight. And flakes are still falling as I record this. Step outside and you'll feel 34 degrees — that raw, damp cold that cuts right through your jacket. The snow tapers off by mid-morning, but don't expect blue skies. Patchy fog rolls in as temperatures struggle to 41 degrees. That's 32 degrees below normal for early March. Along the coast, northeast winds gust to 20 miles an hour, keeping things raw all day. Inland Hartford sits at 33 degrees with a brisk north wind. Eastern Connecticut matches that at 33. Here's the thing about today. It stays dreary. Cloudy skies stick around with areas of fog and maybe some drizzle. Tonight, lows drop to the low 30s statewide. Watch for patchy fog again. With temperatures right at freezing, isolated black ice could develop on untreated roads. Not the night to test your brakes. Saturday brings a slight warm-up. Highs climb to the mid to upper 40s under cloudy skies. Morning fog lingers before clearing by late morning. Saturday night is when things get interesting. Rain showers move in after 7 P.M. Expect a 60 to 70 percent chance of rain overnight with lows in the low 40s. Sunday starts wet with showers likely before 2 P.M., then skies gradually clear. Highs reach the mid to upper 50s — finally feeling like spring. That warming trend continues into next week. Monday brings sunshine and highs near 60 degrees. Tuesday pushes into the mid 60s with mostly sunny skies. Wednesday stays mild in the upper 50s, though rain chances return. For the dreary day ahead. See you tomorrow. Connecticut Weather 3/5 Evening - Spring Fling Freeze Out

Good evening. Connecticut. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you'll feel that raw, damp chill instantly. We picked up about a quarter inch of rain overnight. And that light drizzle still falling? it's not going anywhere fast. Tonight. That rain turns into a messy mix for Northern Fairfield and Hartford. Here comes a wintry mix developing after 7 P.M. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for these areas until noon Friday. You'll want to watch for icy spots on untreated surfaces, especially late tonight and early tomorrow morning. For everyone else, it's a rainy night. Rain continues statewide, heavy at times, peaking around 10 P.M. Temperatures hold steady in the low 30s inland and around 34 along the coast. It feels even colder than that, with wind chills in the 20s thanks to a northeast wind around 10 miles an hour. Friday stays dreary. The mix tapers off by midday, leaving us with cloudy skies and a high near 40 degrees. That's about 32 degrees cooler than normal for this time of year. But hang tight. A big warm-up is coming. Here's your heads-up for the week ahead. Saturday brings milder air, with highs near 48. Then, get ready for spring. Sunday jumps to 57 degrees. We're talking potential 60s by Monday and Tuesday. That's a solid 32 degrees above average. It might feel like April out there. Just a heads up for anyone with sensitive lungs. Air quality is unhealthy for sensitive groups today. You might want to limit any heavy outdoor exertion. See you tomorrow. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast See you tomorrow.

Connecticut Weather March 5 Midday - 32° Below Normal

Good afternoon. Connecticut. I'm Aaron Jolly. That rain drumming on your roof right now? It's not going anywhere fast. We woke up to 34 degrees and a trace of rain, but the real story is what's coming tonight. In the next 24 hours. Right now, rain is spreading across the entire state. Down along the coast from Stamford to New London, you're hitting 40 degrees with fog creeping in thick enough to swallow your headlights. Push inland to Hartford and Waterbury and you're at 38 — that's the kind of damp cold that seeps straight through your jacket. Eastern Connecticut? You get 41, but don't be fooled. It's still raw. Tonight's when things get interesting. At 5 P.M., a Winter Weather Advisory kicks in for Litchfield County. Rain switches to sleet, then freezing rain across the hills. We could see a quarter inch of ice coating trees and power lines. Lows drop to 32 to 34 statewide. And by Friday morning, wind chills will bite down into the mid-20s. Friday stays soggy and gray. Rain and fog linger, highs barely scrape the upper 30s to low 40s — about 32 degrees below normal for early March. But here's your reward for surviving this mess. Saturday climbs into the upper 40s. Sunday pushes mid-50s. And Tuesday? Low to mid-60s across Connecticut. That's nearly 32 degrees above normal. The pattern flips hard. And you'll forget all about this gray stretch. One last thing — tonight's full moon is out there somewhere, hiding behind all these clouds like it owes us money. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Connecticut Weather March 5 Morning - Winter Weather Advisory

Good morning. Connecticut. I'm Aaron Jolly. That gray blanket overhead? It's about to open up. In the next 24 hours. We're sitting at 31 degrees right now with patchy fog hugging the low spots. That fog clears by mid-morning. Just in time for rain to take over. The coast gets hit first. Rain rolls in around 7 A.M. — steady, soaking stuff that sticks around all day. You'll top out near 40 degrees. Central Connecticut stays dry until 9 A.M., then the rain finds you too, with highs near 38. Eastern Connecticut sees rain by 8 A.M. and climbs to 41. Tonight's when it really dumps. Three quarters of an inch to a full inch in spots. Lows drop to 32 to 34 statewide. Northeast winds gust to 20 miles an hour along the shore. That damp chill will sneak right through your jacket. Friday, the rain eases to drizzle by afternoon. Highs hover in the upper 30s to low 40s — about 26 degrees cooler than normal for early March. Then the pattern flips hard. Saturday jumps to 50. Sunday and Monday? Mid 50s to near 60. By Tuesday, we could kiss the low 60s with some sun breaking through. That's a 26 degrees-degree swing in four days. On this day in 2018, a nor'easter knocked out power to 350,000 homes with 70 mile per hour gusts. Today's rain is nothing like that — just wet and annoying. In Sunrise hits at 6, 21, sunset at 5:46. We're gaining nearly three minutes of daylight every day now. Spring equinox is just two weeks out. Keep the umbrella handy today. You're going to need it. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Connecticut Weather March 4 Evening - 26° Below Normal

Good evening. Connecticut. I'm Aaron Jolly. That dusting yesterday? Just four-tenths of an inch. But enjoy the quiet. Because a mess is brewing. In the next 24 hours. Tonight, fog rolls in as temperatures drop into the upper 20s. Watch for black ice Thursday morning, especially inland. Thursday's story is rain. It arrives by mid-morning statewide. Coastal Connecticut hits 41 degrees with steady rain through the day. Central Connecticut stays colder at 38 — and here's the catch: between 26 degrees and 10 A.M., freezing rain could mix in before temperatures climb. Eastern Connecticut sees rain likely by late morning, also reaching 41. Thursday night into Friday morning. That's when it gets tricky. Rain changes to a mix of freezing rain, sleet, even some snow inland. A Winter Weather Advisory kicks in at 5 P.M. Thursday for Litchfield County through noon Friday. Up to a quarter-inch of ice could coat trees and power lines in the hills. Roads turn slick everywhere as temperatures hover near freezing. Friday, the precipitation tapers off by midday. But clouds hang tough. Highs only in the upper 30s to low 40s — about 26 degrees below normal for early March. In Here's your heads-up for week ahead, after this wintry mess, a major pattern shift. Saturday brings clouds and highs near 50. Sunday? Partly sunny and 55. Monday and Tuesday, sunny skies with highs pushing 60 degrees inland. Spring is knocking. Tonight's full moon rises at sunset. Connecticut Weather March 4 Midday - 20° Above Normal

Good afternoon. Connecticut. I'm Aaron Jolly. That dusting of snow overnight is already history. Fog hugged the ground early, but it's lifting fast. We're looking at a pleasant afternoon with sun punching through the clouds. Highs settle right where they should be — 45 degrees along the coast, 46 in central Connecticut. And 48 out east. In the next 24 hours. Tonight is where the plot thickens. Temperatures take a nosedive after sunset. You'll drop to 27 at the shore, 25 inland. And 26 in eastern Connecticut. Patchy fog creeps back in after 10 P.M. Here's the catch — a slight chance of freezing rain mixes in toward dawn, especially in those valley spots where cold air likes to hide. Thursday brings the real mess. Rain spreads statewide by mid-morning. It peaks around 1 P.M. Coastal Connecticut could see up to an inch. Central areas get a messy mix — rain changing to sleet Thursday night with a half-inch to three-quarters of an inch total. Eastern Connecticut stays mostly rain. Highs only reach 41 degrees. Friday stays damp and chilly with lingering showers before we finally dry out. Then comes the reward. A serious warm-up takes over. Saturday climbs near 50. Sunday hits 55. Monday and Tuesday? We're talking 60 to 66 degrees. That's a solid 25 degrees to 20 degrees above normal for early March. Full moon tonight if the fog cooperates. Plus, we're gaining nearly three minutes of daylight every day. Spring equinox is just two weeks away. Keep an eye on those driveways tonight. Connecticut Weather March 4 Morning - 26° Above Normal

Good morning. Connecticut. I'm Aaron Jolly. That was a messy night. About an inch of snow fell across much of the state. And now light drizzle lingers with temperatures hovering right at freezing. Watch for black ice this morning, especially on untreated surfaces. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for Litchfield County until 7 A.M. Here's the good news. That wintry mix pulls away by daybreak. Patchy fog lingers through mid-morning, but skies turn partly sunny this afternoon. Highs reach 47 degrees along the coast, 46 in central Connecticut. And 49 out east. That's right where we should be for early March. In the next 24 hours. Tonight, the full moon shines through breaking clouds. Lows drop to 26 degrees inland and 31 along the shore. Patchy fog redevelops late. Thursday brings our next round of rain. It arrives early with a slight chance of freezing rain in the colder valleys before temperatures climb. Highs hold in the low 40s. Rain continues Thursday night with up to three-quarters of an inch possible. Friday stays damp and cool with rain tapering by afternoon. Highs near 41 degrees. But here's the turnaround. A real warm-up arrives this weekend. Saturday tops out near 51. Sunday hits 55. And by Monday and Tuesday? We're talking highs near 60 degrees — that's about 26 degrees above normal. Spring is knocking on the door, just two weeks until the equinox. In Sunrise at 6, 22 A.M., sunset at 5:45 P.M. We're gaining nearly three minutes of daylight each day now. Connecticut Weather March 4 Evening - 26° Above Normal

Good evening. Connecticut. I'm Aaron Jolly. That light tapping on your window? That's freezing rain making a last-ditch effort to ruin your morning commute. But here's the silver lining. It's almost gone. In the next 24 hours. Central Connecticut wakes up at 28 degrees with that icy glaze likely lingering until about 2 A.M. Down along the coast, you're sitting at a milder 34 degrees where it's just plain rain. Eastern Connecticut checks in at 33 degrees. The whole mess tapers off by daybreak, leaving behind some fog. Once that fog burns off? You'll want to get outside. We're looking at a surprisingly pleasant afternoon. The coast hits 48 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Central Connecticut reaches 46 degrees with partly sunny conditions. Eastern Connecticut actually wins the temperature battle, topping out at 50 degrees. That's running about 26 degrees warmer than usual for early March. Tonight turns partly cloudy. Watch for lows dropping to around 30 degrees at the coast, 26 degrees inland. And 28 degrees in eastern areas. Patchy fog will be sneaking back in late. Thursday brings the rain back. A steady rain develops by the afternoon and continues into Thursday night. Highs only reach the low to mid 40s. In Here's big picture for week ahead, friday stays damp and cool with more rain. But the weekend? that's when spring really wakes up. Saturday climbs into the low 50s. Sunday and Monday both push toward 60 degrees. That's running more than 26 degrees above normal. We're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight every single day now. Connecticut Weather March 3 Evening - 28° Above Normal

Good evening. Connecticut. I'm Aaron Jolly. That steady snow you've been watching? We picked up nearly an inch overnight. And it's still coming down. We bottomed out at a brutal 28 degrees last night, but right now we're sitting at 29 with moderate snow. But here's the twist. This is a transition day. In the next 24 hours. Central Connecticut is the trouble spot tonight. Temperatures hold steady near 28 degrees as freezing rain moves in this evening. That could create a glaze of ice on untreated surfaces, lasting right into early Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, the coast and eastern areas stay just warm enough. You'll see lows around 33 to 34 degrees, which means plain rain and patchy fog for you. Wednesday brings real relief. Morning fog burns off. And sunshine takes over. Highs reach 48 to 50 degrees statewide. That's about 28 degrees above normal for early March. But don't get too comfortable. Thursday brings another round of rain. And Friday looks downright raw — cloudy and cool with highs only in the low 40s. The weekend? that's your reward. A significant warmup arrives. Saturday touches the low 50s. And Sunday and Monday both climb near 60 degrees. We're talking 28 degrees to 28 degrees above normal. One more thing — tonight's full moon will be playing hide and seek behind all those clouds. And with the spring equinox just two weeks away, we're gaining nearly three minutes of daylight every single day. Tonight, expect rain and freezing rain with lows between 28 and 34. Wednesday turns mostly sunny with highs near 50. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Connecticut Weather March 3 Morning - Winter Weather Advisory

Good morning. Connecticut. I'm Aaron Jolly. That light snow you're seeing this morning? It's just the opening act. A warm front is crawling northward. And it's running headfirst into cold air locked in place by yesterday's brutal overnight low. The result is a classic mixed-precipitation mess. In the next 24 hours. Here's the setup. Snow transitions to freezing rain this afternoon, especially inland. Central Connecticut, you're right in the sweet spot for icy conditions through this evening. Highs only reach 35 degrees. Down along the coast, it's all rain with a high of 34 degrees. Eastern Connecticut sees rain by late afternoon with a high near 35 degrees. Timing matters today. Precipitation ramps up around 4 P.M. Statewide. Coastal areas see rain peaking around 7 P.M. Eastern Connecticut gets the heaviest rain closer to 10 P.M. It all tapers off by early Wednesday morning. Travel will be tricky this evening. Connecticut Weather March 3 Midday - Winter Weather Advisory

Good afternoon. Connecticut. I'm Aaron Jolly. Folks, we've a classic March battle unfolding right over our heads. A warm front is stalling just to our south, pulling Atlantic moisture into a shallow layer of cold air trapped at the surface. That warm air is winning the fight up aloft, turning snow to sleet and rain. But down here at ground level? It's hanging on to freezing. That setup creates the icy signature we're watching today. In the next 24 hours. This afternoon, you're seeing a wintry mix falling. Snow accumulation stays light, generally just a coating to an inch. The real threat is a thin glaze of ice from freezing rain, especially in the hills. Highs top out around 35 degrees. It feels raw with that damp east wind blowing at about 6 miles an hour. Tonight, watch for the transition to plain rain. It moves from south to north between 5 P.M. and 8 P.M. Until then, untreated roads could be slick. Temperatures hold steady in the low 30s overnight. Rain tapers off shortly before sunrise on Wednesday. Wednesday dries out nicely. Expect patchy morning fog to give way to mostly sunny skies. It becomes milder with highs climbing into the upper 40s. Looking toward the week ahead. Thursday brings another round of rain. That likely mixes with freezing rain again Thursday night. Friday looks chilly, raw. And wet. Then, a significant pattern shift arrives for the weekend. Highs jump into the 50s, nearing 60 degrees by Sunday. That rapid melt could cause some rises on our rivers and streams. Take it slow on the roads this evening, especially on the side streets. That ice can be sneaky. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Now a messy wintry mix is taking over. In the next 24 hours. Here's what's happening. A warm front is pushing toward us from the southwest. Cold air remains trapped at the surface, especially inland.
