Show Notes
Good morning. Connecticut. I'm Aaron Jolly.
Step outside and you'll feel that damp, clingy chill. We're at 46 degrees with drizzle hanging around from overnight fog and scattered showers. But that's about to flip.
Dense fog advisory runs until 9 A.M. Along the coast. If you're driving early, take it slow. Visibility's down to a quarter mile in spots. Those showers wrap up by mid-morning as a cold front slides offshore. Behind it? Partial clearing works in from northwest to southeast through the afternoon.
Now for the warmth. Today's high of 59 degrees is 26 degrees above normal for early March. That's serious springtime energy. The coast tops out near 58 around 3 P.M. Central Connecticut warms to 59 by early afternoon. Eastern Connecticut reaches 57 by mid-afternoon. Inland areas could see some sunshine breaking through, while the coast stays cloudier longer.
Tonight clears out nicely. Lows drop to the mid-30s statewide under partly cloudy skies. Light west winds keep things calm.
Monday brings the real show. Sunshine and southerly breezes push highs to 56 along the coast, 64 inland across central Connecticut. And 56 in the east. We're gaining 2 minutes and 48 seconds of daylight today. Spring's coming fast.
Here's your heads-up for the week. Tuesday delivers the warmest day — sunny with highs climbing to 59 near the coast, 67 inland. Some spots could flirt with 70. Wednesday stays mild but cloudier, upper 50s to low 60s. Thursday's when things flip. Rain showers likely with a cold front dropping temps back to the low 50s. Behind that? A sharp cooldown Thursday night into Friday with lows crashing to the upper 20s inland.
If you're enjoying these daily updates, a quick rating helps more than you'd think.
See you this afternoon.
