Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz. Folks, step outside right now and that 22 degrees bites your cheeks. but don't let it fool you. A warm front is sliding north through New England. and it's about to hand you the warmest day in weeks. In the next 24 hours. First things first. Fog has settled in statewide this morning. With temps below freezing, black ice is lurking on untreated roads through about 9 A.M. Take it slow out there. Now the good stuff. That warm front is pumping mild air up from the south. Central Connecticut climbs to 49 degrees today. That's 11 degrees above normal for late February. The coast and eastern Connecticut reach 45. You might actually unzip your jacket by lunchtime. Wild, right? Tonight, partly cloudy skies. Lows settle near 28 along the shore, 24 inland. Nothing dramatic. but here's the plot twist. Sunday morning, an arctic front crashes the party. Light snow develops after 7 A.M. One to two inches across most of the state. Not a blockbuster, but enough to coat the roads and remind you where you live. Then Sunday night, temperatures nosedive into single digits. Central Connecticut bottoms out at 9 degrees. Monday? Highs barely scratch 27. That's a 22 degrees freefall from today's high. Your thermometer is going to need therapy. Looking ahead, the deep freeze loosens its grip by midweek. Tuesday brings a rain and snow mix. Wednesday and Thursday rebound into the upper 40s with more rain chances. Winter throws one last jab, then backs off. One more thing worth celebrating. We're gaining almost three minutes of daylight today. The spring equinox is just 20 days out. The light is winning. Charge your phone, top off your washer fluid. and enjoy today's warmth while it's here. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Stay safe, stay prepared. and enjoy the day.
