At Christmas we celebrate the fact that Jesus stepped off of His heavenly throne to come to earth to be: Prophet: proclaim truth Priest: reconcile us with God King: rule and reign all that is, beginning in our hearts “I am THE WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE and no one comes to the Father except through me” - Jesus

The promise of God’s presence will be the power to persevere in the pain. - I know that He is able to _________. - I am believing that He will __________. And even if He doesn’t, I will worship Him alone.

God did not save you to make much of you, but the gospel frees you to make much of Him.

The boy’s dad in Mark 9 needed a miracle to rescue his child from oppression. Today, God could use YOU to be that miracle in the life of a child that needs to be rescued from poverty in Jesus’ name. compassion.com/COE22

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. - Romans 8:28

Because of the resurrection of Jesus we can say: “When peace like a river attendeth my way When sorrow like sea billows roll Whatever my lot Thou has taught me to say It is well, it is well with my soul.”

We love our neighbor because Jesus, like the Good Samaritan, loved us.

We are to be stewards of our bodies and health, not for our own comfort or benefit, but so that we can pour our lives out for the gospel. Obsession with the physical is idolatry. Neglect of the physical is sacrilege.

Our enemy, the Devil, is the Father of Lies. Do not believe the whispers, but stand on the truth of the word of God. “It is written…”

The shiny things of this world will never satisfy our empty souls. “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.” – Jim Elliot

In order for the church to be ONE so that the world knows we are His disciples, we must forgive one another.

God has set apart a PEOPLE for a PURPOSE.

The gospel doesn’t only alter our eternal trajectory, but meets us in the deepest darkest places of the soul.

We are NEVER meant to be a cul-de-sac of God’s grace. We are meant to be a conduit of the gospel to THE ENDS OF THE EARTH.

“Your faith has saved you. Go in PEACE.” – Jesus The religious knew Him as a teacher and scoffed. The wretched knew Him as Savior and wept.

Jesus came on a rescue mission to save the lost. There is no barrier that His grace cannot bridge.

Emotions are a gift from God given to us to navigate life. However, we are not ruled by emotions. We are ruled by Jesus.

Religion says that if you obey, then you will belong. The new covenant of grace (the gospel) says that “whoever believes in the Son has eternal life.”

The unique claim of the gospel is that through Jesus Christ, Holy God, built THE bridge to and for sinful man.

The only thing that can fully and finally satisfy the insatiable appetites of the human soul is the everlasting God that created it. His name is JESUS.

God’s perfect love casts out fear and produces faith.

God did not give you His power for you, but that through you the power of God’s love would be displayed in this world. You want to be great? Serve. You want to be first? Go last. You want to be promoted? Humble yourself. Action Step: Find a way to serve someone this week. Find the one thing no one wants to do – then do that.

Parents: of all the people in the entire world, God has chosen YOU to have the primary responsibility of raising your children. When Jesus was on the cross and said “it is finished” it counted for you.

God does not reveal Himself to us so that we can sit and soak it up on the mountain top, but so that we can be sent and serve on mission. QUESTION: What is more important... the mission of God or the Glory of God? ANSWER: The mission of God IS the Glory of God.

When we are tempted, God has given us His Word, the sword of the Spirit, not so that we can defeat Satan but to remind us that Jesus already has. “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me” - John 5:39

Jesus did not come to make bad people better or sad people happy. He came to give life to the dead and salvation for sinners.

A mustard-seed-size faith in the infinitely powerful promise-keeping God is infinitely more powerful than putting all of your faith in temporary promise-breaking idols.

The Law is the diagnosis that we are sinners in need of a Savior. Jesus is the cure.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

A legacy of faith is left by those that pour themselves out for the gospel. Take a minute to say thank you to someone who has been a significant influence in your faith walk. Now, imagine being that kind of influence in someone else’s life.

Nothing will kill Gods call on your life like constantly comparing yourself to someone that God didn’t call you to be.

In an ever-changing world we will always preach the unchanging truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
