#0014- How I lost 40 pounds from a place of loving myself. Today I share part of my story. How I lost 40 pounds from a place of lovig myself. Our stories about ourselves can cause emotional pain. I remember standing on the scale 2 years ago and it read 201 pounds.  My first thought was “I shouldn’t weigh this much.” Immediately, I felt shame and disappointment in myself. I wanted to hide. I didn’t want to wear cute clothes, or get dressed up. It was almost like I didn’t deserve to look cute. I look back now and realize I gave all my power away to that number. I thought if I kept shaming myself, I would motivate myself to lose weight and eat healthier.   I was wrong. I actually started to separate the facts from the thoughts. The fact: scale says 201.   Then I went to work. I started rewiring my brain that the number means NOTHING about me. I was CHOOSING to believe I shouldn’t weigh that much. I was punching myself in the face over and over evert-time I thought something was wrong with me. I decided to change the story. I claimed God’s truth on my life that no matter what the scale says, I am 100% worthy, loveable & capable. I just kept practicing believing that. As I believed it, I started loving myself. And from that love, I was patient as I took action to lose 40 pounds. If I can do it, you can too. But I promise you….it starts with separating the number on the scale from your worthiness. #0011- How to use the fat on your body to lose weight. Our body has 2 sources of fuel. Sugar & Fat We want the fat on our bodies to be the preferred source of fuel. It isn't able to use the fat we have on our body when constant sugar is avaialble. Weight-Loss is not about calorie balance, it's about hormone balance. The balance is = eat food store fat access fat repeat. When we aren't using fat, the cycle is= eat food store fat eat food store fat. We want to burn our own fat for fuel because the body is designed for that.  The body becomes efficient at burning fat, not storing it. I take my clients through this process by  1.  creating a customized food protocol based on science. 2.  teaching how to manage, feel & process emotions 3.  teaching how to manage our thoughts around food and the thoughts creating those emotions 4.  we eliminate over hunger and over desire 5.  we create an on going solution and identity change so the weight-loss is permanent! The number on the scale, the number of pounds of fat on our body doesn't define who we are. They also don't hurt us emotionally until we have a story about them. Lose Weight For Good This Time

#005 -What we currently believe about ourself is based on thoughts from our past. Beliefs are thoughts we think over and over again. We often aren't aware of our beliefs because we have been thinking them for so long. We want to become a watcher of our thoughts. We want to question what we are thinking about our weight-loss journey and keep what is serving us and let go of what is not. Instead of looking to our past to see if we can lose the weight this time, let's focus on the future and what is possible. Focusing on the future means we recognize our limiting beliefs, let them go, and replace them with beliefs that serve our dreams.  It means focusing on the road ahead and getting excited about the future.

4 Ways To Gain Authority Over Cravings

#004 - Most of us have not been taught to process our emotions.  We want to avoid feeling uncomfortable and have taught ourselves that certain foods can ease our pain. But the truth is that life is 50/50.  50% uncomfortable and painful and 50% positive and happy. Our brains want to avoid that 50% of discomfort. If we want to get back to our natural weight, we need to stop numbing our feelings with food. The way we do this is to process our feelings. Emotions are just vibrations. When we are willing to feel any vibration, we find that it's not so scary after all. Be sure to listen to learn 4 ways to process an emotion, specifically an urge to eat. When we do this, the urges get smaller and we can be around food without the need to give in. God's promise in this episode comes from James 1:2-3.  We will have trials.  We don't need to resist them.  In fact, when we open up to them and allow the discomfort, we grow and become the next version of ourselves. Ep 3Why Food Controls Us

#003 - It's important to know the cause of overeating...desire. Basically, when we love food too much, it becomes very difficult to stop overeating. Instead of trying to use our willpower (which will run out anyway) it is possible to create a natural desire for food. Every time we eat, the "feel good" neurotransmitter, dopamine, is released. Our natural desire comes from the subtle reward healthy food provides and the satisfaction of hunger. When we eat foods that release dopamine at unnatural levels, we get much more desire than we need from food. When we cut back on food to lose weight without addressing the over-desire, we increase our desire for food by withholding it.  This is why our willpower is so low when we start new weight-loss programs. The ultimate goal is weight-loss is to reduce the desire for overeating. When that is gone, you will have no need for willpower or extra effort to resist overeating. This can be very overwhelming at first.  Especially when we have loved food most of our lives.   Be sure to listen as we discuss willpower, now appeal and delay to get back to our natural desire for food. Remember in Galatians 6:9 where God promises us that in due time we will reap what we sow if we do not lose heart or relax our courage. Keep going, your time is coming!
