S1 Ep 145Didaché - Kathryn Krick Preys Upon Crippled Kids and I've Had Enough

Justin Peters exposes Kathryn Krick as a fraudulent faith healer who exploits vulnerable people, especially children. He analyzes a video where Krick attempts to "heal" a young girl with cerebral palsy, claiming she has demons. Peters, who also has CP, explains how this manipulative practice can deeply harm children psychologically and spiritually. He contrasts Krick's methods with biblical accounts of true apostolic healing. Peters also criticizes other prominent figures like Isaiah Saldivar and Sean Feucht for endorsing Krick. He concludes by urging Krick and similar false teachers to genuinely repent, shut down their ministries, and seek true salvation in Christ.➡️ Click here to find all of Justin’s essential links.

S5 Ep 1S5E1 – Foundations of Public Policy

Welcome to Season 5 of Governed by God! Today I open up with a planned theme for the season, considering what the Biblical position is (if there is one) on topics such as drugs, immigration, pornography, regulations, etc. Do these topics have a biblical perspective, or is it a matter of choosing your own adventure? But before we dive into those topics, we first need to see if the Bible even applies to the area of public policy. Politics is dirty (right?), so the Bible has nothing to say about it (or does it?). But when we look closely at Scripture, I think we will find that it says more about politics (i.e., the concerns of the city) than we give it credit for.If you have any questions, comments, or other topics you would like me to address, please email me at [email protected] can follow me on Facebook or Twitter, or go to http://www.ericluppold.com/And if you would like to support the show, please become a patron!

Courageous Headship: Session 1. 2024 Marriage Conference

Dr. Joe Rigney goes through the creation account in Genesis 1-3 to show the headship of the husband and wife relationship. Dr. Rigney emphasizes the importance of a courageous marriage in the 21st century, based on biblical teachings. He discusses the concept of male headship rooted in creation, highlighting the roles of husbands and wives. This session delves into the complementarity of the sexes in God's design and the importance of faithful fulfillment of specific roles. Dr. Rigney discusses the parallel between Christ and the church and husband and wife in complementarianism. The roles of husbands in sacrificial leadership and wives in showing respect and honor are emphasized for a harmonious and fruitful marital relationship. # Building a Courageous Marriage: Understanding Roles and Aligning Actions In a world that increasingly challenges traditional values, understanding the biblical foundations of marriage is more crucial than ever. Today, I want to delve into what it means to build a courageous marriage in the 21st century, focusing on the roles of husbands and wives, and how these roles align with God's divine plan. ### The Cultural Controversy In recent times, the church has faced significant controversies, particularly regarding gender identity and the biblical understanding of what it means to be human. These debates are not merely academic; they have profound implications on how we live out our faith and establish our households. As conservative, Bible-believing Christians, we often find ourselves culturally marginalized for our beliefs in the immutable nature of gender as created by God. ### The Role of Marriage in Shaping Children The home is the first school of learning. Here, children first encounter and absorb concepts of gender roles. The way a father loves their mother, the respect a mother shows to their father, these early observations shape children's expectations of their own future roles. In essence, marriage provides a framework for understanding manhood and womanhood, which is foundational for nurturing Christian children who can navigate the complexities of modern society with biblical integrity. ## Understanding Manhood and Womanhood The Bible provides clear frameworks in Genesis and Ephesians about what it means to be a man and a woman. These passages are not archaic texts but living words that still speak powerfully into our lives today. For instance, Ephesians 5 calls wives to submit to their husbands as to the Lord, and husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church. This mutual submission and love are indicative of the harmony God intends for marriage. ### The Indicatives, Imperatives, and Applications To fully grasp the biblical texts, we must understand three key concepts: **Indicatives**: These are factual statements about reality as established by God. **Imperatives**: These are commands or duties derived from those facts. **Applications**: These involve applying the imperatives in our daily lives in a way that aligns with the indicatives. ## Aligning Actions with God’s Commands The beauty of God’s design for marriage is seen when these roles are lived out according to His commands. When a husband exercises his role as head of the family with love and integrity, and when a wife supports her husband with respect and grace, the marriage thrives. This alignment is not always easy. It requires courage, faith, and a continual reliance on God's strength and wisdom. In the face of challenges, may we find the fortitude to build homes that are beacons of Christ’s love, truth, and grace. Let us hold fast to the truth, love earnestly, and lead our families with the courage that comes from God alone. www.ReformedRookie.com

4. The Armor of God: The Breastplate of Righteousness

Pastor Anthony Uvenio discusses the importance of the breastplate of righteousness in the armor of God, emphasizing that righteousness is a gift from God through faith in Jesus. He explains the double transformation at the heart of the Christian message, with Jesus bearing the wrath of God for our sins. The righteousness of Christ is highlighted as a free gift that provides assurance and security in God's love, serving as protection against Satan's lies. Believers are encouraged to rely on Christ's righteousness, stand firm in faith and truth, and prioritize obedience to Christ over worldly success. Ultimately, the focus is on being faithful to God and recognizing the constant need for Christ's righteousness to save and transform. # The Breastplate of Righteousness: Standing Firm in God's Gift In the spiritual battles we face daily, it is vital to be equipped with the full armor of God. Among these pieces of armor, the *breastplate of righteousness* stands out as a crucial defense against the schemes of the devil and the spiritual forces of wickedness that we encounter. ## Understanding Righteousness as a Divine Gift Righteousness, in the context of spiritual armor, is not something we conjure up through our efforts or good deeds. It is, rather, a gift bestowed upon us by God. This concept is beautifully illustrated in the story of Barabbas and Jesus. Here, we see a vivid depiction of substitution where Barabbas, a notorious prisoner, is released while Jesus, the innocent, takes his place and faces crucifixion. This act mirrors the substitutionary righteousness we receive through Christ—where He took our place, bearing the punishment our sins deserved. ## The Armor and Its Old Testament Roots The apostle Paul, in describing the armor of God, draws heavily from the Old Testament, particularly Isaiah 59. This passage paints a picture of a society grappling with injustice and falsehood, much like our own times. It speaks of a Redeemer who comes to Zion, bringing righteousness and salvation—themes that are echoed in the New Testament portrayal of Jesus Christ. ## Standing Firm in Spiritual Warfare The breastplate of righteousness is our primary defense in standing firm against evil. It is not our own righteousness but that of Christ, imputed to us, that protects our hearts and fortifies our spirits. ## The Assurance of God's Love One of the most profound truths that the breastplate of righteousness assures us is the unchanging love of God. No matter our failures or the depth of our sin, the righteousness of Christ ensures that we are viewed as blameless before God. This is not because of what we have done but because of what Christ accomplished on the cross. His sacrificial love and the righteousness He imparts to us secure our relationship with God permanently. ## Eternal Life: A Gift, Not a Reward It is critical to remember that eternal life is not a reward for the righteous but a gift for the guilty. This gift is not something we earn but something that is graciously given. Our righteousness, the Bible tells us, is like filthy rags before God. But through faith in Jesus, we are clothed with a righteousness that is divine—perfect and pleasing in God's sight. ## Conclusion: Embracing the Breastplate of Righteousness As we continue to navigate the challenges and temptations of this world, let us cling tightly to the breastplate of righteousness. Let us remember that it is not our own goodness that defends us but the perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ. In every spiritual battle, may this truth be the shield around our hearts, empowering us to stand firm and secure in the love of God. May we always rely on what God has done through Jesus Christ and stand assured in the righteousness that is ours through Him. Let us walk boldly, not in our strength, but in the power of His might and the assurance of His righteousness.

7. Directive vs. Non-Directive Counseling Pt. 2:

This session emphasizes the importance of behavior in determining feelings and behavior in biblical counseling, highlighting the role of the nervous system and the sanctification process in bringing about personality change. Pastor Jensen discusses the need for nouthetic counseling and the role of the Holy Spirit in changing hearts, contrasting it with the transference method used in other counseling approaches. The concept of transference in counseling is explored, with an emphasis on loving rebuke and confronting sin directly for repentance and reconciliation. The rejection of transference and Rogerian counseling theory is supported, advocating for a biblical approach that ministers the gospel to non-believers for true heart change. Contending Against Idols: Round 2 Anthony Uvenio VS. Materialism

Listen as Pastor Anthony Uvenio exposes what materialism is and why it's a self deception. At the recent Contending for the Faith Conference, Anthony Uvenio, an elder at Hope Reformed Baptist Church, tackled the profound issue of materialism and its impact on our spiritual lives. His compelling discourse delved into why material possessions, while not inherently evil, can become detrimental idols when they take precedence over our relationship with God. Summary: 1. Definition of idolatry: Idolatry is the worship of false or excessive devotion to something that is not God. It can also be applied to secular contexts where individuals become overly attached to material possessions, wealth, or power. 2. The idol of materialism: Materialism refers to the emphasis on material possessions and wealth in achieving happiness or fulfillment. It can lead to dissatisfaction and imbalance in life. 3. The dangers of materialism: Materialism can deceive and lead people away from God. It promises satisfaction and fulfillment but ultimately fails to deliver. 4. The prevalence of materialism: Materialism is prevalent in society, especially in the United States. Many people prioritize material possessions and believe that having more will make them happier. 5. The consequences of materialism: Pursuing materialism can lead to ruin and destruction. It can also result in a loss of true value and significance. 6. The antidote to materialism: The antidote to materialism is a proper relationship with God, contentment, generosity, and a focus on eternal treasures rather than earthly possessions. # The Dangers of Materialism: Finding True Value in God In a world that often equates success with material wealth, it's easy to find ourselves trapped in the endless pursuit of the next best thing. But what if our relentless chase for material possessions is actually leading us away from true happiness and fulfillment? ## Understanding Idolatry in the Modern World Idolatry, as Anthony explained, is not just about ancient civilizations bowing to carved statues. It's about what we prioritize and devote ourselves to in our daily lives. In the context of the Ten Commandments, idolatry is explicitly forbidden, yet it subtly infiltrates our modern lives through our excessive devotion to material wealth and possessions. ## The Illusion of Material Fulfillment The crux of Anthony's message centered on the dangerous illusion that material goods can fulfill us in ways that only God can. He explained how materialism, at its core, is about seeking security, value, and identity in worldly possessions. But these are counterfeit gods—imposters that promise what they cannot deliver. ### A Culture of Excess In illustrating the prevalence of materialism, Anthony pointed to staggering statistics: from the billions spent on storage facilities to store our excess possessions, to the high levels of credit card debt that suggest a collective obsession with consumerism. ## The Biblical Perspective on Wealth Turning to the scriptures, Anthony highlighted that the Bible speaks about money and possessions far more than it does about faith and prayer combined, indicating the importance of our attitude towards wealth. He referenced Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 6:24, which warns that "No one can serve two masters... You cannot serve both God and money." ## Finding True Value and Security in God The heart of Anthony’s message was a call to turn away from the empty promises of materialism and find our security and value in God. ## Generosity: The Antidote to Materialism In concluding, Anthony advocated for generosity as a powerful antidote to materialism. He encouraged the audience to practice giving not out of abundance, but as a reflection of our gratitude towards God who generously gave His only Son for us. ## Conclusion We live in a world that bombards us with messages equating happiness with more possessions. It’s found in our relationship with God. In Him alone, we find the security, purpose, and joy that material goods promise but can never fully deliver. Let us then strive to treasure Christ above all, and live lives marked not by what we accumulate, but by the love and generosity we share. 01:02 Defining Idolatry and Materialism 03:56 Exploring Cultural Materialism 06:43 Statistics: US Consumerism 08:49 Impact on Well-being 11:06 Modern Vanity Fair Insights 15:07 Finding Self-Worth Beyond Wealth 19:18 Jesus as Personal Growth Benchmark 23:43 Choosing Between Mammon and God 28:38 Advocating the Righteous Cause 34:00 Tragic Material Pursuit Tales 39:45 Serving God Over Mammon #Materialism #Idolatry #MoneyManagement #BiblicalFinances #ChristianStewardship #GodOverGold #GratefulNotGreedy #PursueGodNotPossessions #SelfReflection #churchleadershipresources www.ReformedRookie.com Podcast: https://anchor.fm/reformedrookie Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheReformedRookie Twitter: https://twitter.com/NYapologist Semper Reformanda!

2. Into to The Armor of God Eph 6:1-20

Pastor Anthony Uvenio discusses the reality of spiritual warfare and the importance of believers putting on the armor of God to stand firm against evil. They emphasize the power of opposition faced by Christians and the need for dependence on God's strength. Pastor Anthony cautions against complacency and stresses the responsibility of actively engaging in the spiritual battle. They highlight the significance of recognizing weaknesses and relying on Christ for salvation. # The Armor of God: Equipping for Spiritual Warfare In a world that often prioritizes the physical and visible, the concept of spiritual warfare might seem distant or even irrelevant. However, as believers, we are called to recognize and engage in the battle that rages beyond what our eyes can see. This battle isn't against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of darkness. It's a spiritual struggle requiring not worldly weapons but the full armor of God. ## Understanding the Battle Ephesians 6:10-20 serves as a crucial text in understanding this spiritual warfare. It instructs us to "be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might." This passage vividly details the armor of God, including the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. These elements are not just metaphorical; they are essential tools for defending ourselves against spiritual deception and harm. ### The Reality of Spiritual Forces In a materialistic age, the existence of anything beyond the physical is often dismissed. Critics demand physical proof of spiritual realities, yet they readily use their immaterial minds to argue against the existence of the immaterial. This contradiction highlights a significant oversight in their reasoning. If we accept that our minds can conceive immaterial thoughts and utilize immaterial laws of logic, how then can we deny the existence of spiritual realities? ## The Armor and Its Significance Each piece of the armor of God has a specific role. The belt of truth combats the lies and deceptions of the enemy. The breastplate of righteousness protects our hearts, the seat of our emotions and desires, from the allure of sin. The shoes of readiness ground us in the gospel of peace, helping us stand firm. The shield of faith deflects the fiery darts of doubt and accusation thrown by the enemy. The helmet of salvation protects our minds, the battleground where many spiritual wars are won or lost. Lastly, the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, is our offensive weapon, capable of cutting through deception and doubt to reveal the truth and convict the hearts. ## Engaging in the Battle Taking up this armor requires more than a passive stance. It calls for active engagement in the spiritual realm through prayer, scripture reading, and community with other believers. It's about making conscious choices every day to live out the truth of the gospel, to uphold righteousness, and to propagate the faith amidst a world often hostile to such ideals. ## Conclusion: Clad in the Armor, Prepared for Victory As we face the complexities and challenges of life, let us remember that our battles are not just against visible troubles but against spiritual forces that seek our downfall. Clad in the armor of God, let us stand firm, not in our strength but in the might of the Lord. It is He who fights for us, who equips us, and who leads us into victory. Let us then move forward, not in fear but in faith, fully equipped for the spiritual warfare that lies before us. www.ReformedRookie.com Podcast: https://anchor.fm/reformedrookie Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheReformedRookie Twitter: https://twitter.com/NYapologist Semper Reformanda
