Ep 107Bearing a Burden We’re Not Meant to Bear: Moms, Guilt, and God’s Sovereignty in Our Children’s Salvation.

Welcome to a very special Mother’s Day episode of “One Little Candle.” In today’s episode (107), we’re exploring the heartfelt journey of mothers whose children might be wandering from or have rejected the path to God. It’s a tender spot many moms silently agonize over, and often, a burden of responsibility and guilt that weighs heavily on their hearts. We’ll delve into the poignant story of Hannah from the book of 1 Samuel, a woman who knew deep desire and dedication when it came to her son, Samuel. Her story sheds light on the profound act of entrusting our child(ren) entirely to God. In this episode, we’ll also query the often misinterpreted proverb, “train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it,” unpacking the nuances about parental influence and the personal spiritual paths our children choose. We’re here to offer an understanding that while the proverb speaks to guidance, it does not guarantee outcomes. We’ll discuss how, as parents, our role is to saturate our children’s lives with God’s word, leading by example, but ultimately, we must leave their salvation in the sovereign hands of God. For all mothers wrestling with feelings of guilt over your child’s spiritual journey, this episode aims to comfort you, inspire hope, and encourage you to keep your light shining for them, regardless of the paths they may roam. We will be reminded of the power of persistent prayer, the impermanence of parental control, and the overarching truth that the destiny of our children rests securely in the grace of God. https://onelittlecandlepodcast.com https://christianpodcastcommunity.org     https://youtu.be/AHe_qmo3gX4?si=ptT2H42ekr5KukN1

Proverbs 10:19 "You Talk Too Much"

The bible has much to say about the words we speak- where, when, and how. Listen as we continue to go through more of the proverbs and what they have to say about speaking and the use and misuse of the tongue. Proverbs 10:19 When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent. Ep 87Transgenderism, Freedom of Speech & the Role of the Church

In this episode of the Patriot Pastors Podcast, hosts Harold Smith and Wade Lentz engage in a thought-provoking discussion on controversial topics like transgenderism and freedom of speech. They address the recent backlash following a church sign message and firmly believe that truth should not be compromised to fit societal trends. This episode also probes into the perceived undermining of science by specific belief systems, drawing attention to the Bible’s teachings often cited by those disregarding them. Furthering the discussion, they vividly express their stance on freedom of speech, reinforcing the importance of the right to hold and express personal views on personal platforms and how this correlates with absolute freedom of speech. Diving deeper into societal and legal implications, Smith and Lentz discuss a controversial bill aimed at restricting freedom of speech. They examine its potential impact on personal liberty and religious freedom and make compelling arguments about its potential to obstruct the gospel’s dissemination. Moreover, this episode highlights today’s 24-hour news cycle’s adverse effects, emphasizing the need to stay informed yet not succumb to the media’s continuous influx of information. The importance of regular Bible reading is underscored, relating the hosts’ personal spiritual growth experiences through scripture exploration. Concluding the episode, they boldly tackle the contemporary societal issue of transgenderism from a biblical perspective, urging churches not merely to acknowledge but actively address such matters. They encourage pastors to fearlessly preach on current topics and strive to illuminate truth to their congregation. This episode is a compelling call for a return to biblical teachings, untangling suppressed truths, and fostering open, respectful discussions on today’s contentious issues.

S4 Ep 18S4E18 – Challenges to Christian Nationalism, Part 1

Today I begin a series on the topic of Christian Nationalism. While there are many other available podcasts that discuss what Christian Nationalism is, my focus is on responding to the challenges to Christian Nationalism. Most, if not all, of those challenges come from within the Christian community. For example, are we saying that the gospel is spread by force? If a political ruler becomes a Christian, won’t that person engage in an abuse of power? And if the culture becomes Christian, won’t the Church become less pure, since there won’t be any persecution? These are some of the questions that I will be addressing in this series. As always, if you have any law/government related questions, feel free to email me at [email protected], and I will be happy to address them on the program. Thank you and God bless! Discipline? An Example of Calling What is Good Evil.

Thoroughly Equipped Season 3 Episode 2 An interesting spat occurred on X about a month ago over a post by Samuel Sey who stated that he had to discipline his 4 month old son. The majority of responses accused Mr. Sey of mistreatment of his son. This made me wonder about what Christians have been taught over the last couple of decades about what discipline is. And so I thought I would talk about it. Leaving the New Age with Doreen Virtue

Thoroughly Equipped Season 3 Episode 1 T.E. is back for a 3rd season! For episode one of this season I interview Doreen Virtue on her conversion from the New Age religion to Jesus Christ. Doreen Virtue was a top-selling new age author with heretical publications in 38 languages by various publishers, appearances on Oprah, and sold-out international workshops before God graciously saved her in 2017. Now she is a whistleblower exposing new age deception, and warning the church of false teachings on her YouTube channel, social media pages including Facebook, and in frequent interviews. Doreen has been featured on American Gospel 3, American Gospel TV, Daily Wire, Moody Radio, Spillover, Christianity Today, Cultish, and other Christian media. Doreen graduated with a Masters Degree in Biblical and Theological Studies (56 units with highest honors) from Western Seminary in 2021, and she holds a BA and MA in Counseling Psychology from Chapman University. Peters underscores the discrepancies in Savelle’s teachings, particularly around prophetic messages that Savelle claimed to receive, yet which were often contradictory. S4 Ep 17S4E17 – Dawkins’ Dilemma

In this episode, I review and respond to an interview of Professor Richard Dawkins that took place near Easter. Professor Dawkins is a very outspoken atheist, having written numerous books against religion and against Christianity. In this interview, he reveals a very inconsistent and contradictory position: he loves Christian culture but does not believe a single word of it. In other words, he wants the fruit of Christianity but still is in the business of cutting down its trees. Such a strange – but common – attitude is one worth discussing, especially as Christians seek to defend the faith against an increasingly hostile culture. Is being selfish a bad thing?

Abundant Life Episode 58 In this episode Saso and Ben talk about the topic of selfishness and how it is very destructive. Websters 1828 Selfish – Regarding one’s own interest chiefly or soley; influenced in actions by a view to private advantage. Key Verse Philippians 2:3-4 – Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Selfish ambition – Another word for selfishness which means motivation to elevate oneself or to put one’s own interests before another’s. Conceit – This simply means pride. In other words don’t to anything out of selfishness and pride. Selfishness and pride work hand in hand. The Fall of Man Selfishness can be traced back to the fall of man. When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden there was a selfishness and pride. Genesis 3:6 – So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. Satan appealed to Adam and Eve’s pride and their selfish desire to be wise like God. Thelema Religion The word Thelema means “choice” or “will” Thelema is an occult religion that was taught by Aleister Crowley who was an occultist. One of the main axioms of Thelema is “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.” Aleister Crowley has had a major influence in today’s culture through music and entertainment Ozzy Osbourne has a song named Mr Crowely, The Beatles album cover pictures Crowley, Michale Jackson album cover pictures Crowley and there are many more examples Bottom line is that this teaching of do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law is a teaching straight from the pit of hell. Selfism Religion The idea is self-worship. You are your own god. Quote from The Gospel Coalition – Philosophies of selfism: Your mind is the source and standard of truth, so no matter what, trust yourself. Your emotions are authoritative, so never question (or let anyone else question) your feelings. You are sovereign, so flex your omnipotence and bend the universe around your dreams and desires. You are supreme, so always act according to your chief end, to glorify and enjoy yourself forever. You are the standard of goodness—so don’t let anyone oppress you with the antiquated notion of being a sinner who needs grace. You are the Creator, so use that limitless creative power to craft your identity and purpose. #authenticity. Satanism Church of Satan was established by Anton LaVey in 1966 Anton LaVey is the author of the Satanic Bible The basic commonality in all the branches of Satanism is a promotion of self. All forms of Satanism claim that life exists to consume and that selfishness is a virtue. The Solution We MUST stop listening and believing the lies of the devil. We need to be alert and identify when these lies creep up into our minds. We need to be others-focused and not self-focused. Put others first. Mark 12:31 Galatians 6:2 Ephesians 4:32 1 Corinthians 10:24 Romans 12:10 Galatians 5:26 Matthew 6:33 Romans 7:5 John 13:34-35 1 Peter 2:11
