It costs me nothing to feel that I am; it is no burden to me. And yet if the mental, physical, chemical, and other innumerable facts concerning all branches of knowledge which have united in me could be broken up, they would prove endless. It is some untold mystery of unity in me, that has the simplicity of the infinite and reduces the immense mass of multitude to a single point. This One in me knows the universe of the many. But, in whatever it knows, it knows the One in different aspects. It knows this room only because this room is One to it, in spite of the seeming contradiction of the endless facts contained in the single fact of the room. Its knowledge of a tree is the knowledge of a unity, which appears in the aspect of a tree. This One in me is creative. Its creations are a pastime, through which it gives expression[vi] to an ideal of unity in its endless show of variety. Such are its pictures, poems, and music, in which it finds joy only because they reveal the perfect forms of an inherent unity. This One in me not only seeks unity in knowledge for its understanding and creates images of unity for its delight; it also seeks union in love for its fulfillment. It seeks itself in others. This is a fact, which would be absurd had there been no great medium of truth to give it reality. In love, we find a joy that is ultimate because it is the ultimate truth. Therefore it is said in the Upanishads that the advaitam is anantam,—"the One is Infinite"; that the advaitam is anandam,—"the One is Love." A fundamental reminder….that in the end as there was in the beginning there is only ONE of us, ONE LOVE that lays at the heart of it all and that will set you free, sets us all free…….may you find your way there now.” Nigel Lott We never put another being out of our hearts because as we do so, we put ourselves outside of our own hearts equal measure. That is to say as long as we hold resentment, a non forgiving posture toward another we are in essence keeping ourselves out from the Love and the peace that Love offers, found in the heart…..we are hurting ourselves. That anger, fear, grief that you are holding onto contaminates your own system. By-all-means…. it maybe perfectly reasonable to be angry (grief) and in some cases the only safe thing to do is to remove yourself from the presence of the person, (sometimes permanently) place or thing whose behavior hurts and is at the very least unkind. However your emotional, psychological reaction to their behavior is your own work on yourself….all-ways. We will never get out of our suffering and travail by dumping it on an-other person, place or thing. Look, its OK to be angry (anger is always ultimately a grief moment) To stay there in anger however keeps you stuck. There is no redeeming value in doing so. Our freedom from what hurts comes about by griefing the perceived loss of Love which is ultimately an illusion (just saying) that is being mirrored in the process with the other entity, person place or thing and the behavior that drives us to the anger, that is driven by fear and the underlying grief that is at the heart of the matter. Finally we come to understand that when we do the work to allow ourselves back into our own hearts and the grace on offer……that when we do do this a space opens up for the other to do the same, seemingly by osmosis…without words, any external action on our part we offer a healing to that other being we had resentment and anger toward, by our own work on ourselves. “May all sentient beings awaken to their own sense of equanimity born out of their hearts longing for peace and re-discover the one true nature that is inherent within them, within us all…..beyond all suffering and travail. There are infinite possibilities that are born of knowing that all love surrounds us all, lives within us and that all life is so very precious, there is not a moment to lose. No-one can ever discount you without you discounting yourself. The other person is acting, speaking in a way that is hurtful and unkind but ultimately is coming up against an internal belief that is lodged within the make-up of your own system, that invariable has been there for sometime. No-one can ever discount you unless you simultaneously discount yourself. That other person is showing you a place where you have come to mistakenly believe you are unlovable, that you are not enough………the truth being that you are always lovable, always enough. So don’t hang out with people who are hurtful and unkind, (whenever you have the choice) and engage in discounting behavior….. by all means. However the psychological, emotional, and often somatic work to remove the original dynamic that drove your reaction to their behaviour (as a discount) is your own work on your-self. Every moment of anger that masks the fear that hides the longing (grief) in our lives, is a moment were we have come to believe that we are bereft of being one with Love. That is what all anger, fear and grief is about at its core. That love is not present within… is missing in action, when we give rise to a moment of anger, fear, grief. The belief in more intense moments can feel as if you have been torn from home, that there is no safety to be found, is that not what it feels like sometimes? And we internalize that energy that resonates at a frequency that is not the frequency of Love within our cellular, nervous system bodies, that we have collected over a lifetime and is so often triggered later in life by outer aspects and experiences that have a similar frequency, and then in turn dumping, transfering it as we do on the ones we most Love, the ones who out of their Love deeply remind us of our pain. That is why again in communication with other sentient beings we react more strongly to the tone, the resonance of what is be communicated than with what is being said. And so it is that when we fully open our hearts to anothers presence, in doing so that internalized dark energy is high-lighted by the presence of Love and indeed is in all actuality being brought forth for a healing. It can be said that the person whom you most love mirrors as well as that Love in you, the deepest aspects of your suffering and travail…..at times long hidden. I have come to understand that the more intense emotions, expressions of energy come from some of our earliest developmental years, often times pre-cognition. These are all exposed when in the presence of Love as much as we would prefer they are not. In this perfect union we call Love, that which is not about Love will be called forth for a healing and this is when the work begins and were so many relationships with others fail…. to be continued. There is a path, a sublime pathway of wisdom and illumination which begins, for each human being, in any one incarnation on this earth in the present life, and thereafter leads inward, for it is the pathway of consciousness and spiritual realization leading ever inward, more inward, still more inward, toward the mystic East, which is the heart of the universe, and it is the core of you — the rising sun of spiritually divine consciousness within you. All forms of meditation in my experience are predicated on understanding that the peace and equanimity that is sought is already within, there is no seeking. When we quieten our minds, stop thought, words and action, truth arises of a love beyond measure, that has been there all along patiently waiting for our return. When we hurt another sentient being, we hurt ourselves 10 fold….there is no freedom to be found in blaming, or dumping our suffering on others. Every thought, word, and deed has a ripple effect on all life near and far, so support the universe in its creative intent, that of love. The energy we carry around other sentient beings can affect those beings profoundly so be aware that certain energy hurts depending on its form, so carry love in your heart.
