When despair for the world grows in me and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be, I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. Orion, the word Orion when uttered has, since I have been a child conjured up, like the flick of a switch, my ideal sense of safety family, and home. It immediately radiates a warm glow in my heart and a singularly deep longing in my soul. Orion is a prominent constellation located on the celestial equator and visible throughout the world. It is one of the most conspicuous[1] and recognizable constellations in the night sky.[2] It is named after Orion, a hunter in Greek mythology. Its brightest stars are the blue-white Rigel (Beta Orionis) and the red Betelgeuse (Alpha Orionis). We all are stardust sprinkled throughout the heavens and I wonder what constellation you are from, what star system made your bones? Is there a particular area of the cosmos that is familiar? Dear Beloved, I write that intro because that is who I believe I am writing to, dearly beloved, YOU - having just come out of life-saving procedures in the hospital that probably saved my life and I am so very deeply aware of that! I am sitting at my desk stunned by the depth of experience of being touched by the great void and being embraced by an altogether brighter light simultaneously - I have not been without a deeply spiritual - mystical sense of self - every moment of waking and sleeping - so deeply immersed in this great mystery since the original step into the ER - am I. Now that I am home I am aware that a major shift has happened, I have been deeply changed. music, sound, and colors are all so very more deeply arrayed and a part of me. I see the connections of life in this my life, of how it all works in a changed light, and that is a complete understatement. it would be true to say that my heart has been blown wide open, and so I will say for posterity and effect - my heart has been blown open! This is a copy of a post I sent out a year ago, about our ache and yearning to re-unite with the Divine, that underpins all addiction and dependency. Though, as it turns out the Divine never separated from us, to think otherwise is a profound illusion. That every moment of anger is a moment of fear and ultimately always a moment of grief, when we mistakenly believe that we are separate from the source of our true nature….LOVE….which is impossible. And, so I send this out again today as a reminder to myself et al that what I have been looking for all my life is already deep within me, always has been and always will be. Music ‘Give My Love Back’ Francis Wells Anger masks the fear that hides the longing. Anger is a pointed moment of grief, as is fear - it tends to mirror a deeper aspect of our underlying sorrow, of grief. If we do not wish to be angry then we find a way to work through our anger and fear states and allow the tears to flow from underneath which then in turn allows us to be at peace again - one with all that is….in time. Easier said than done, indeed it is - our grief can be long stuck in our cellular, nervous system bodies and requires a therapeutic safe container in order for the ego to let go, in order to surrender our tears - it takes time to trust the process. The ego does not give up its position(s) easily - in reality what we talk about as healing is alien to our ego - the heart’s truth and the love on offer there is the ego’s greatest enemy because in order to let go of our suffering it requires a death of an aspect of that ego - to let go into the peace that our heart knows and desires (our true nature) - this is the grief process. For those of you who manifest anger in your life, often hurting yourself and others in the process - contact me and I can help you come up with a structure to feel safe within and let your anger go, techniques and practices and the critical support often needed - of how that might look for you - in order to finally allow your grief and heal. We find that we often hurt the ones we most love because they mirror the deepest aspects of our suffering simultaneously - we push away often in anger and fear because the pain is so great within us - their love touches. The trouble is with any thought, word, or deed that is fuelled by anger, fear which in turn hides our grief, is that it will always be seen as progressively destructive, and ultimately fatal, its just a question of timing as to when the end comes nigh. Within the realms of understanding - I believe that the intellect and the knowledge it can acquire in any given moment is designed to only understand so much - it can only go so far along the continuum - that if you really want to understand the ultimate truth of anything you have to go to the heart’s wisdom and grace - with all heart and soul - it is designed that way - very creative don’t you think when you consider where all love is found. Put another way - knowledge has to become wisdom - which is an act of faith as it is beyond the intellect - in order to understand the ultimate truth of any matter - at its heart. The intellect no matter how sharp it has become or the IQ behind it - in understanding the realms of truth it can only go so far. There is a point - a point of surrender in any thought process - no matter how deep our intellectual quest to understand is - when to move forward in any pursuit of understanding we must let go of intellect and enter the realm of the heart - literally rather like entering a black hole….a certain form of alchemy is required - indeed we may call it the transformation of matter into spirit. It’s like I have always had my greatest insights on the way to and from the bathroom in the early morning - coming so soon after sleep - my mind not yet engaged - something I have been working on for a considerable time to understand - the heart of the matter pops up in the moment and all wisdom is mine - hallelujah! In all reality there is a place within all of us that is always connected to it all - we are one with the universe and the universe is one with us. However - there is an element to all of this that says we can’t know something before it’s given us to know. There is a timing to knowing all wisdom - such is the process of any destiny in a given lifetime - creation in motion. So many of us from time to time look back out of our remembrance of suffering and wish that we knew back then what we know now - but it simply wasn’t given us to know back then. In any time-based continuum, all wisdom and grace are ours within - (remember we are always connected) - our awareness of that however is restricted from view until the perfect moment in this great play we call life - another part of the creative process - the Dance of Maya. Most everyone looks to connect with another person based on the initial differences found, we do that with everything we come into contact with. From this initial starting point, we then work our way toward any similarities. Considering that our intent is most often to connect with others it is an oddball way to make that connection. Out of our own suffering and sense of separateness connecting in this way is part of the human default position, to go first to the differences and then try to find similarities. May I suggest one similarity between us all, between all life forms - Love. Choose Love as your starting point, and join with others first and foremost on Love. For it is within the realms of Love, that we find no differences, no judgments, and no preferences…….there is only LOVE. It is after all what every heart yearns for, isn’t it?
