Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - The Jets are Grounded Again, the Packers are Surging & College Football Kickers Strike Again

On today's episode, Jason kicks things off by pouring one out for his beloved New York Jets now that they've officially been eliminated from postseason contention. It's become abundantly clear this season that Jets cannot be taken seriously in the AFC until they get their quarterback situation figured out, and if J-Mac had his druthers he'd be telling the powers that be to go all-in on Derek Carr in 2023. Later, Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) swings by to help discuss the Green Bay Packers' blowout win over the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings aren't a legitimate threat in the NFC but that doesn't make the Packers' performance any less impressive. Green Bay is surging right now and have the look of a dark horse Super Bowl contender heading into their de facto playoff game next week against the Detroit Lions. On the flip side, the Philadelphia Eagles continue to stumble without Jalen Hurts. Two weeks ago, Philly was considered a lock to earn the top overall seed in the NFC but that is very much in jeopardy heading into Week 18. Interestingly enough, the team that is most likely to steal the #1 seed - the San Francisco 49ers - looked pretty average themselves in a close win over the the lowly Las Vegas Raiders. This is really shaping up to be one of the wildest NFC Playoffs we've seen in years. Speaking of wild, did you see what happened on Saturday in the College Football Playoff semifinal games? Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines played an uncharacteristically sloppy game in their stunning loss to TCU while Ohio State came this close to upsetting the top-seeded Georgia Bulldogs only to be undone by what some are calling the worst kick in college football history. Seriously. It was that bad. Finally, J-Mac closes the show with a very special Monday Night Football (Buffalo Bills vs. Cincinnati Bengals) edition of the Best Bet. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - The Uninspiring Dallas Cowboys, LeBron vs the Lakers Front Office & College Football Playoff/NFL Best Bets

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started by sharing his thoughts on the Dallas Cowboys' uninspiring win over the Tennessee Titans on Thursday Night. The Titans rested all of their best players since the game was virtually meaningless in the AFC playoff race... and Dallas still didn't pull away until the fourth quarter. While everyone is jumping for joy after the Cowboys earned their 12th win of the season, the harsh reality is Dallas is playing mediocre football as of late and they're basically limping into the playoffs. Later, Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) swings by to help discuss LeBron James' public plea for help from the Los Angeles Lakers front office. It's clear that the Lakers as presently constructed aren't championship contenders - and The King isn't happy about it. While Jason and Rob agree that they'd like to see Los Angeles make a swing to make the club relevant again, they disagree on exactly how much blame the Lakers front office deserves for their current predicament. Finally, J-Mac closes the show with a very special College Football Playoff and NFL Week 17 edition of the Best Bet. The Raiders are Done with Derek Carr + Sports Illustrated senior writer Pat Forde

On today’s episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) kick things off by sharing their thoughts on the Las Vegas Raiders’ decision to move off of quarterback Derek Carr. Will Carr land on his feet with a team like the New York Jets? More importantly, will Josh McDaniels attempt to bring a veteran like Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers in to replace him, or will he opt to take a young signal caller in the upcoming draft? The guys have the answers to those questions – and many more. Later, Sports Illustrated senior writer Pat Forde swings by to discuss why so many college football fans and pundits are down on Ohio State entering the College Football Playoff, the inevitable Mark Richt comparisons for Ryan Day, how Stetson Bennett stacks up against a few of the other winningest quarterbacks in college football history, Deion Sanders’ impact at Colorado and why SEC schools will certainly be paying attention, what makes Wisconsin’s hire of Luke Fickell so interesting and much more! Luka Doncic's Historic Night, More Dysfunction in Denver & a Dark Horse NFC Champion

On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) get the party started by sharing their thoughts on Luka Doncic's historic stat line against the New York Knicks. Luka is an absolute monster who has been putting up absurd numbers for years and his greatness has almost become under-appreciated at this point. With that in mind, the guys debate whether or not night's like this are meant to be celebrated given that he's the level of player who will only be judged by championships... and most agree this Dallas Mavericks team isn't good enough to win a title. Later, the guys take a few minutes to discuss the Denver Broncos head coaching search. The new ownership plans to take a hands-on approach moving forward and essentially make the general manager obsolete, while simultaneously building around a washed up version of Russell Wilson. Can you really expect any new coach to succeed with that level of disfunction around the team? Finally, J-Mac and Rob G close the show by explaining why Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are a decent long-shot bet to win the NFC. The uncertainty surrounding Jalen Hurts has really opened things up for the rest of the field and none of the remaining favorites (San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings) are without serious questions. Having said that, would it really be all that shocking if the suddenly-streaking Packers make a run to the Super Bowl? Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - The Chargers are Dangerous, Nathaniel Hackett Wasn't the Broncos' Only Problem & Tom Brady's Next Landing Spot

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started with a few thoughts on the Los Angeles Chargers' easy win on Monday Night over the Indianapolis Colts. With Keenan Allen and Mike Williams back and healthy - and Justin Herbert at the controls - the Chargers are arguably the most dangerous Wild Card team entering the playoffs. Don't be surrpised to see them make a Cincinnati Bengals-type run to the Super Bowl. Later, Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) swings by to help discuss the Denver Broncos’ decision to fire head coach Nathaniel Hackett before his first season with the club was even completed. Hackett was clearly in over his head, but the fact remains that much of the Broncos’ issues stem from the fact that Russell Wilson’s play has fallen off a cliff. Can a new coach (like Sean Payton, maybe) fix whatever is ailing Wilson, or is Wilson officially washed? Speaking of quarterbacks, it’s become abundantly clear that Derek Carr isn’t the answer for the Las Vegas Raiders. The only problem then becomes, who can they get that would represent an upgrade at the position? It’s highly unlikely the Raiders can get Lamar Jackson or Aaron Rodgers, but what about Tom Brady? At least he’s familiar with Josh McDaniels’ offense. The guys close the show by sharing a quick note on the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive explosion against the Philadelphia Eagles. We all think Philly will still end up getting the #1 seed in the NFC, but the Eagles’ reputation has taken a hit the past few weeks (even more so now that Jalen Hurts is dealing with a shoulder injury). Jason McIntyre, who always has TERRIBLE takes, attempts to set the record for most times getting kicked off the show (spoiler alert: he does). Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - A Bad Omen for NFL Quarterbacks, NFL Week 16 Best Bets + Pickswise lead betting analyst Jared Smith

On today's episode, Jason opens the show with a quick note on the Brooklyn Nets' beatdown of the Golden State Warriors in a game where the Nets led by over 40 points on several occasions. The only question is: Are the Nets that good or are the Warriors that bad? In the NFL, Nick Foles getting the starting nod this week for the Indianapolis Colts make them the ninth different team to play at least three different starting quarterbacks this season. It's no wonder why the NFL goes above and beyond to protect the quarterback. Later, Pickswise lead betting analyst and FOX Sports Radio’s Countdown to Kickoff presented by BetMGM co-host Jared Smith swings by to discuss why the overall volatility of Zach Wilson makes tonight’s game between the New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars so tough to read, why he was in early on the Dallas Cowboys against the Philadelphia – even before news broke about Jalen Hurts’ injury, why the market suggests that Ryan Tannehill will be out this week against the Houston Texans, what we can expect from Nick Foles in his first start of the season against the Los Angeles Chargers, why we should expect weather to play a huge factor this weekend in at least five different games, which Super Bowl futures tickets he’s holding that has him so excited and much more! Drake Maye and the Defense of NIL + Former Pro Bowl WR TJ Houshmandzadeh

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started by taking University of Pittsburgh head coach Pat Narduzzi to task a bit for trying to go scorched earth on Drake Maye and the NIL process. Narduzzi taking shots at the bigger schools (and to a lesser extent, Maye himself) simply because Pitt doesn't have the infrastructure to keep its own stars in place is a bad look. Don't you think Narduzzi himself would leave Pitt if another school offered him millions more than he's currently making? Of course he would. Later, former Pro Bowl wide receiver and ‘Up on Game’ on FOX Sports Radio co-host TJ Houshmandzadeh swings by to discuss how much credit Joe Burrow deserves for the Cincinnati Bengals’ dramatic in-season turnaround, why he picked Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles to make the Super Bowl even before the season started, the biggest thing Zach Wilson needs to get corrected if he wants to become a viable starting quarterback in the NFL, why he’s still a big believer in Tua Tagovailoa, how he expects the top of the 2023 NFL Draft to shake out and much more! The Plucky Packers, a Sad Slate of Games on Christmas & Bad News for Jalen Hurts

On today's episode, Jason kick things off with a few thoughts on the Green Bay Packers' win over the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night. The Packers defense harassed Baker Mayfield all night long while Aaron Rodgers and Aaron Jones led a balanced Packers offense. No one really expects Green Bay to make the postseason but they did show they're capable of playing the kind of complimentary football it takes to win in the playoffs (at least for a night). Later, J-Mac goes up and down the Christmas Day NFL and NBA slate of games. What seemed like a gift a few months ago is now shaping up to be a lump of coal. Whether it's due to injury (Steph Curry Anthony Davis, Matthew Stafford and Kyler Murray) or generally underwhelming play (Luka Doncic's Mavs, LeBron James' Lakers, Tom Brady's Buccaneers and Russell Wilson's Denver Broncos), most of these games are setting up to be total snoozefests. Let's just hope someone can turn in a Christmas Miracle. Finally, our fearless leader closes the show by sharing his thoughts on the shoulder injury to Jalen Hurts that is expected to sideline the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback for at least a couple of weeks. Can Hurts still win the NFL MVP if he misses the final 3 games of the regular season, including that much-anticipated NFC East showdown with the Dallas Cowboys? More importantly, can the Eagles stay afloat and secure the top-seed in the NFC without their starting quarterback? Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - The Greatest World Cup Final Ever, a Wild Win for the Raiders & the Truth about the NFL's 'Elite' Teams

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started by sharing his thoughts on what some are calling the greatest Final match in World Cup history. Lionel Messi (2 goals) and Argentina ended up being victorious but Kylian Mbappe (3 goals) put on a legendary performance himself in defeat. It was one of those games that even the staunchest soccer haters had to admit lived up to the billing. Moving over to the NFL, J-Mac opens things up by diving deep into his beloved New York Jets' excruciating loss to the suddenly streaking Detroit Lions. The Lions are arguably the most dangerous team in the NFL heading down the stretch while the Jets continue to stumble. Speaking of stumbling, did you see what happened in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Some will argue that Joe Burrow engineered yet another massive comeback but the truth is that Tom Brady and the Bucs lost this one more than Cincy won it. Later, Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) swings by to discuss the Las Vegas Raiders' wild walk-off win over the New England Patriots. The Raiders have been involved in some of the craziest plays in NFL history, but I don't think we've seen anything close to an intercepted-lateral-returned-for-touchdown to finish off a game that had been tied before the snap. Crazy stuff. On a macro level, it's become painfully obvious that there are no truly elite teams in the NFL this season. The Buffalo Bills still can't run the ball, the Kansas City Chiefs defense is as leaky as ever, the Minnesota Vikings are clearly frauds, the Dallas Cowboys always disappoint and the Philadelphia Eagles are unproven; Don't be surprised to see one - or more - of these 'top' teams get bounced out early in the postseason. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - The Niners are Great and the Seahawks are Not + The Volume's Alex Monaco

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started by sharing his thoughts on the San Francisco 49ers' bludgeoning of the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football. The Niners are who we thought they were: a legitimate Super Bowl threat coming out of the NFC. Brock Purdy has shown he's more than capable of executing Kyle Shanahan's system, and he has an incredible defense to lean to boot. The Seahawks? Nowhere near as good as their record would suggest. Geno Smith is still limited and the rest of the roster is very limited. This one went just about how we thought it would. Later, MSG Network and The Volume host Alex Monaco swings by to discuss his career in comedy, the notion that this is a get-right game for the Cleveland Browns against the banged-up Baltimore Ravens, why he’s all-in on the New York Jets against the Detroit Lions, the potential that both the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys are overlooking their Week 14 opponents and ahead to their own big showdown in Week 15, why he’s back on the Las Vegas Raiders this week even after their epic meltdown last week, why he trusts the Tennessee Titans more than the Los Angeles Chargers this Sunday, why he loves the Cincinnati Bengals against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and much more! Messi vs. Mbappe in the World Cup Final, Concern About Steph Curry's Shoulder & Will Levis' NFL Draft Stock

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started with a quick preview of the upcoming World Cup Final between Argentina and France. It's hard to explain to non-soccer fans how big it is to see Lionel Messi vs Kylian Mbappe in the Final; It would be like seeing Kobe Bryant face LeBron James in the NBA Finals back in 2009. It's arguably the greatest players of their respective generations going head-to-head for all the marbles, you can't beat it. In the NBA, the big news on Wednesday has to be the health of Steph Curry, who left late in the Golden State Warriors loss to the Pacers with a shoulder injury. It's still unclear how long Curry will be out, but given that the Warriors have been absolutely atrocious on the road even with Steph, it's hard now to be just a little bit concerned about the team moving forward. Later, Jason hits us with a way-too-early lookahead to the 2023 NFL Draft. Many expected this would be a quarterback-rich draft given how poor last season's crop graded out but as of now we're stuck with more questions than answers. Kentucky's Will Levis is said to be the best of the bunch, but have you seen the way he's looked against top-flight competition? Yikes. The Lakers Blow Another One + Professional sports bettor Preston Johnson

On today’s episode, Jason gets the party started by sharing his thoughts on the Boston Celtics’ wild win over the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers looked dead to rights in the third, stormed back to take a big lead late in the fourth… only to blow it in the final minutes and eventually lose in overtime to Jayson Tatum and Co. This has become something of a trend for LeBron James and Anthony Davis as it is at least the third time this season that Los Angeles has fumbled a game in the final seconds of regulation. Tough night for the Purple & Gold. Later, professional sports bettor Preston Johnson swings by to discuss the trials and tribulations of owning a soccer team abroad, the application of analytics, the latest World Cup happenings (Portugal benching Ronaldo, Messi leading Argentina to the World Cup Final, the future of US Soccer, etc.), the Los Angeles Clippers’ NBA championship odds, which NBA stars we’d trade for Victor Wembanyama and much more! Kyler Murray's Devastating Knee Injury, Big D says 'No' to OBJ + Bleacher Report NBA columnist Eric Pincus

On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a few thoughts on the New England Patriots' win over the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football. The Pats are currently in the mix for one of the AFC Wild Card spots but their closing schedule is pretty daunting. New England's season could really come down to their meeting with the Miami Dolphins in a few weeks. Monday's biggest story, however, has to be the Cardinals losing Kyler Murray to an ACL injury. Best case scenario? Murray is back in October of the 2023 season. Most likely scenario? Kyler isn't back until Thanksgiving, at best. This season was already a lost cause for Arizona and now all signs point to next season being a disappointment as well. Later, J-Mac shares a quick note on the Dallas Cowboys' pivot away from Odell Beckham Jr. OBJ played hardball with Jerry Jones by refusing to play in the regular season and demanding a guaranteed second year, so Jones opted to sign TY Hilton instead. The question now becomes, if not Dallas, where will OBJ end up? Finally, Bleacher Report NBA columnist Eric Pincus swings by to discuss how the New York Knicks could factor into Kyle Kuzma's future, the rumors linking both DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic to the Los Angeles Lakers, why Indiana Pacers sharpshooter Bojan Bogdanovic is probably the most gettable player on the trade market for Los Angeles, why he expects we'll see a lot of 'buyers' coming out of the Western Conference, and much more! Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Tua vs. Herbert Isn't a Debate, Brock Purdy Can Get it Done & World Cup Headlines

On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a few thoughts on Tua Tagovailoa's ugly performance in the Miami Dolphins' Sunday Night Football loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Tua looked like an MVP candidate for about two months but he's really struggled the last 2.5 games without his starting left tackle. On the flip side, Justin Herbert was phenomenal for Los Angeles. This game should have sealed it the Herbert vs Tua debate once and for all; 'Exposed' might be too strong of a word but Tua definitely isn't an MVP-caliber quarterback. Sticking in the AFC, Mike White lost the battle against the Buffalo Bills but he may have won the war and cemented his status as the New York Jets' starting quarterback moving forward. The way White battled back from brutal shot after brutal shot was nothing short of heroic. The biggest story of the weekend, however, has to be what Brock Purdy did in his debut start for the San Francisco 49ers. Purdy was lights out in their win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It's not far-fetched to say that Purdy could lead the Niners to the NFC Championship Game (even without Deebo Samuel). Later, Jason uses all the NFL Week 14 results to do a quick lookahead to Week 15. The NFL Playoff picture is starting to take shape, and more importantly, there are a handful of juicy betting lines that seem ripe for the taking if bettors can get in early. Finally, J-Mac closes the show with a deep dive into all the biggest headlines surrounding the World Cup, including the unfortunate death of journalist Grant Wahl and the Jason's viral report surrounding the infamous USMNT vote that almost sent Gio Reyna home from Qatar. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Baker Mayfield's Big Moment, the Raiders' Latest Choke Job + Football Outsiders writer Robert Weintraub

On today's episode, Jason kicks things off by recapping the Los Angeles Rams' wild Thursday Night Football victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. Baker Mayfield completed the perfect Hollywood ending in this one: signed two days ago, get exactly one day of practice in and then throw the game-winning touchdown pass in the final seconds of a miraculous comeback. The bigger story, however, has to be the Raiders' meltdown. Las Vegas has made a habit of blowing big leads all season but this one feels like rock bottom given the circumstances. Any chance the Raiders had of making the playoffs has been flushed down the toilet after this one. Later, Football Outsiders writer and author Robert Weintraub swings by to discuss the upcoming Battle for Ohio between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns, how much credit Zac Taylor deserves for Joe Burrow and the Bengals' turnaround the past two seasons, whether or not this Sunday will be a bounce back game for Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins, why the streaking Detroit Lions are favored over the NFC North leader Minnesota Vikings, why he expects young teams like the Seattle Seahawks to falter down the stretch and much more! What Aaron Judge and Lamar Jackson Have in Common & a Make-or-Break Month for Baker Mayfield

On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) get it started by sharing their thoughts on Aaron Judge's decision to re-sign with the New York Yankees. While both guys agree it ultimately made sense for both parties for Judge to stay in the Bronx, they disagree on whether or not the Yankees should have been willing to give him such a lengthy deal. Would it have it made more to offer him a shorter deal with a higher average annual value? And if so, are we sure Judge would have even accepted it? Speaking of negotiations, it's clear this season won't help Lamar Jackson in his quest for a fully-guaranteed contract from the Baltimore Ravens. If Jackson really wants to secure the bag he's going to need a desperate suitor (a la the San Diego Padres for Judge) that might force the Ravens' hand. With that in mind, the guys have four NFL teams that they believe might be willing to push all-in on Lamar this upcoming offseason. Later, J-Mac and Rob discuss Baker Mayfield's NFL future after getting claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Rams. Jason argues that Mayfield and the Rams could play spoiler down the stretch and thus rehabilitate his image around the League, while Rob believes Mayfield will fall flat on his face and ultimately be out of the NFL altogether after the season. The Raiders and Lakers are Relevant Again & Trae Young Needs to be Taught a Lesson

On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) reunite to hit you with a cornucopia of hot takes on all the biggest headlines around the world of sports. First off, the Las Vegas Raiders are suddenly one of the hottest teams in the NFL. With their remaining schedule littered with backup quarterbacks (Los Angeles Rams / San Francisco 49ers) and mediocre opposition (New England Patriots / Pittsburgh Steelers), it's not out of the realm of possibility that the Raiders run the table the rest of the regular season. Sticking in the AFC, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is dealing with a knee injury, and given how banged up the rest of the roster is around him, would you really blame Jackson for just shutting it down the rest of the season? Moving over to the NBA, Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers have been on an absolute tear as of late (even if they did lose on the road in Cleveland on Tuesday night after AD left the game due to illness). Given what we've seen from them recently, is it fair to say that the Lakers have a legitimate path towards championship contention? Obviously they still need to make a trade or two to really elevate themselves but the idea doesn't seem as farfetched as it did early in the season. Finally, J-Mac and Rob G close the show by taking Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young to task for skipping his team's game on Friday night and trying to evade reporter questions about it a few days later. Young has had an uneven reputation for some time now and this certainly didn't help his cause. Saints Choke One Away to the Bucs, Baker Mayfield Wants to Get to The Bay & World Cup Musings

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started with a deep dive into the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Monday Night Football victory over the New Orleans Saints. The Saints were the better team for 3.5 quarters until they choked the game away and allow Tom Brady to steal the win in the final seconds. Even still, Bucs fans have to realize that this team just isn't any good and are likely being set up for a swift Wild Card round exit at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys. Speaking of the Cowboys, did you see they continued their full-court press on Odell Beckham Jr. by taking him out to a Dallas Mavericks game? In other news, Baker Mayfield being released by the Carolina Panthers sets the stage for him to try and force his way to the San Francisco 49ers as insurance for Mr. Irrelevant Brock Purdy. The only problem is teams like the Seattle Seahawks (who have an earlier waiver slot than the Niners) could easily claim Mayfield strictly with the intention of keeping him away from San Francisco. That's definitely something to monitor here in the next 24 hours. Finally, J-Mac closes the show with a few thoughts on the World Cup. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Bengals Send a Message, the Niners' Loss is the Cowboys' Gain & the Truth About NFL Teasers

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started with a deep dive into the Cincinnati Bengals big win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Joe Burrow is now 3-0 against Patrick Mahomes in his career (and firmly in the NFL MVP race), and more importantly, has completely shaken up the AFC playoff race. With Baltimore Ravens' quarterback Lamar Jackson set to miss some time, Burrow's Bengals are suddenly a dark horse contender for the top overall seed. In the NFC, the San Francisco 49ers rolled over Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dophins, but at what cost? Jimmy Garoppolo is out for the season and now the Niners' Super Bowl hopes rest on the unproven shoulders of Brock Purdy. San Francisco proved in their win over Miami that they still have a talented enough roster to win even with mediocre quarterback play but the playoffs are a different story altogether. The Niners loss, however, could be the Dallas Cowboys gain. Dak Prescott and the Boys steamrolled the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night and are now right in the thick of things in the race for the top seed in the NFC Playoffs. Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles are still clearly the team to beat in the conference but you have to think that Dallas is next in line now that San Francisco is down to their third-string quarterback. Later, J-Mac explains why Sunday's NFL slate (specifically the losses by the New York Jets and Los Angeles Chargers & the wins by the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks) was a friendly reminder that it's hard to tell which teams are actually good. There are a handful of obvious Super Bowl contenders, but there are a TON of teams that look great one week and horrible the next. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - The New England Patriots Stink + College Football Championship Weekend and NFL Week 13 Best Bets

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started by doing a deep dive on the Buffalo Bills bludgeoning of the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football. The Patriots were never as good as 'the Sharps' thought they were so it should come as no surprise that the Bills cruised to victory. Adding insult to injury, Mac Jones was caught by the television cameras cursing at one of his coaches on the sidelines late in the game. Big Yikes! Later, J-Mac shares a few quick thoughts on the last few weeks of the fantasy football season and all the latest World Cup happenings. Finally, our fearless leader closes the show with a very special college football Championship Weekend and NFL Week 13 edition of the Best Bet. Do the Cincinnati Bengals have it in them to shock the Kansas City Chiefs for a third straight time? Will Tua Tagovailoa have enough time to carve up the San Francisco 49ers defense if his offensive tackles aren't 100% healthy? More Kyler Murray Drama + College GameDay’s Chris ‘The Bear’ Fallica

On today’s episode, Jason kicks things off with a deep dive into the latest drama surrounding Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray. Murray’s attitude and commitment has been questioned more than once since he signed his contract extension this past offseason. Now, his former teammate Patrick Peterson is publicly calling him selfish. As talented as Kyler is, it might be time for Cardinals fans to admit that he’s just not cut out to be the leader Arizona needs him to be. Later, ESPN College GameDay’s Chris ‘The Bear’ Fallica swings by to preview Championship week, discuss why Ohio State – not Alabama – has an outside shot of making the College Football Playoff, why USC is the one team that Georgia probably least wants to see in the first round, why it’s so tough to determine strength of schedule in college football, why he never wanted Zach Wilson to be the quarterback of his beloved New York Jets, which future bets he likes for the World Cup and much more! College Football Playoff Drama + US Soccer legend Eric Wynalda

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started with a few quick thoughts on the latest College Football Playoff rankings. USC is currently sitting at #4, but all signs point to the Trojans jumping TCU at #3 if they end up beating Utah in the Pac-12 Championship game; their resume is just better than the Horned Frogs'. What's more, the possibility of presumptive Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams taking on the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs in the championship game is juicy as heck. However, if USC wins and TCU loses in the Big 12 Championship game, would it make more sense for the committee to elevate Ohio State or Alabama? Definitely something to ponder. Later, US Soccer legend and Sirius XM radio host Eric Wynalda swings by to discuss why Christian Pulisic’s goal against Iran will go down as one of the epic moments in US Soccer history, how and why his comments about Gio Reyna’s availability went viral, why coach Gregg Berhalter’s system can be especially frustrating for forwards who like to score but has been great defensively thus far, the keys to victory for Team USA’s upcoming match against the Netherlands, why the World Cup bracket is set up pretty well for a deep run by the US, and much more! Jeff Saturday Looked Shaky, How the Rams Could Shake up the NFL Draft & USA-Iran World Cup Preview

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started with a few thoughts on the Pittsburgh Steelers' Monday Night Football victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett looked solid most of the game for the Steelers, but rookie head coach Jeff Saturday was absolutely brutal down the stretch for the Colts. Saturday's time management at the end was embarrassing; he looked exactly like you'd expect a guy who got plucked off the street and asked to coach an NFL team n the middle of the season. Sticking in the NFL, Cooper Kupp, Matthew Stafford and now Aaron Donald are all dealing with injuries for the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams. With the Big Three down, it's entirely possible that the Rams don't win another game the rest of the season. And, with the Detroit Lions owning the Rams first round pick, the top of the NFL Draft could get very interesting. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Defending Lamar Jackson, the Truth About Mike White & Why Kyler Murray and Aaron Rodgers Could Both Get Traded

On today’s episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) get the party started with a deep dive into Lamar Jackson’s obscene tweet in the aftermath of the Baltimore Ravens’ disappointing loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jackson is clearly frustrated, and he’s young so we’re going to give him a pass for the tweet. However, given that this wasn’t the first time the Ravens lost a game they should’ve won and Jackson’s overall numbers aren’t all that impressive, is it fair to say the critics were right to say he’s not worth the fully-guaranteed contract he’s been seeking? Sticking in the AFC, backup Mike White put on an absolute show in his first game starting in place of Zach Wilson. So you would think J-Mac would be giddy as a kid in a candy store, right? Wrong. The fact remains that White carved a porous Chicago Bears defense and it would be unfair to all parties involved to declare him a clear upgrade over Wilson after one game. Let’s let this thing play out first before we crown White. Moving over to the NFC, the tense relationship between Kliff Kingsbury and Kyler Murray seems to be at a boiling point now that Kyler has publicly ripped his coach’s scheme. We’ve been trying to tell y’all for weeks that Kliff and Kyler weren’t on good terms and now it seems more likely than not that they’re headed for a divorce. Speaking of divorce, could Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers be headed for Splitsville after the season as well? At some point, the Packers have to see what they have in Jordan Love, right? We all thought that when Rodgers got hurt in the Packers’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles that it might allow Green Bay to start Love for the rest of the season… until Rodgers came out and said that he’s going to keep playing so long as his MRI comes back clean. Rodgers obviously won’t step aside willingly so the Packers are probably going to have to trade him if they want Love to take over; do they have the stones to do it? We’ll find out soon enough. Finally, J-Mac closes the show with a very special Monday Night Football edition of the Best Bet. #FSRSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Later, former NFL quarterback and FOX NFL analyst Mark Sanchez swings by to discuss what was life as a franchise quarterback with the New York Jets and as a backup quarterback with the Dallas Cowboys, Mayfield’s psyche now that his days as an NFL starter are likely over, when he knew that Dak Prescott was destined for greatness, what advice he’d given to embattled Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, how Jimmy Garoppolo and Derek Carr might fare in the Big Apple, why he’s so high on the Minnesota Vikings moving forward, and much more! The 49ers are Really Freaking Good & a World Cup Draw that Felt like a Loss for the U.S.

On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a few thoughts on the San Francisco 49ers' blowout victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football. We've been saying for weeks that the Niners appear to be a lock to make the NFC Championship game, at a minimum. The running game with Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell is strong, Jimmy Garoppolo has a plethora of weapons headlined by Deebo Samuel and George Kittle, and the defense is loaded with playmakers like Nick Bosa. Heading into December, the NFC appears to be a three horse race between the Niners, Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. The AFC, however, is much tougher to call. We can all agree that Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are the favorites, but the Buffalo Bills have played uneven football for weeks, the Cincinnati Bengals have a brutal schedule coming up and the teams like the New York Jets and Los Angeles Chargers aren't even locks to make the playoffs. Unlike the NFC where the top 3 teams are a cut above the rest, the AFC is likely going to come down to playoff seeding. Later, J-Mac does a deep dive into the U.S. Men's National Team's disappointing draw against Wales in the World Cup. The USMNT outplayed Wales throughout the first half (and parts of the second) but had it all come crashing down thanks to a late foul that set up the game-tying goal by Gareth Bale. Given how dominant England looked on Monday, that draw definitely felt like a loss for Team USA. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - The Vikings are Frauds, an Honest Conversation About Justin Herbert & Should the Jets Bench Zach Wilson?

On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) bring the excitement to what had been a rather mundane NFL Sunday. First off, it's become painfully obvious that the New York Jets have a Zach Wilson problem. The second-year quarterback should've been benched in the Jets' ugly loss to the New England Patriots. He's missing open receivers, he's throwing the ball into coverage and worst of all he seems oblivious to the impact he's having on the rest of his teammates. Whether it happens during the season or in the offseason, the Jets will certainly be making a quarterback change. Speaking of quarterbacks, fresh off the latest Los Angeles Chargers collapse, Rob G believes it's time that we have an honest conversation about Justin Herbert. Herbert has elite tools, but is he really an elite quarterback? He doesn't win games as often as you'd expect and his numbers this season have been mostly middle-of-the-road. Moving over to the NFC, it's clear after the Dallas Cowboys' blowout victory on the road in Minnesota that Kirk Cousins and the Vikings are frauds. How else do you explain away an 8-2 team having a negative point differential? Outside of a miraculous win over the Buffalo Bills last week, the Vikings have been destroyed every time they step up in class. On the flip side, Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys proved on Sunday that the overtime loss last week against the Green Bay Packers was an aberration and that they should be viewed as legitimate Super Bowl contenders coming out of the NFC; Just imagine if Dallas can find a way to land Odell Beckham Jr. Finally, the guys close the show with a very special Monday Night Football San Francisco 49ers-Arizona Cardinals edition of the Best Bet. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - The Packers are Toast, NFL and World Cup Best Bets + Westgate SuperBook's Jay Kornegay

On today’s episode, Jason gets the party started with a full recap of the Tennessee Titans’ dismantling of the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football. Ryan Tannehill was tremendous Derrick Henry accounted for two touchdowns. On the flip side, Aaron Rodgers was mostly bad save for a few throws here and there. With the loss, it’s safe to say that the Packers are toast and will miss the playoffs for the first time in the Matt LaFleur Era. Later, Westgate Las Vegas Vice President of Race and Sports Operations Jay Kornegay swings by to discuss how the SuperBook dealt with bets made on the Buffalo Bills vs. Cleveland Browns after the game was moved to a neutral site due to inclement weather, why the number of the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Indianapolis Colts keeps moving in Indy’s direction, why it appears as though the Pros are on the Carolina Panthers and the Joes are on the Baltimore Ravens, where the sharps are in the AFC East showdown between New England Patriots and the New York Jets, how difficult it was to set the line for the big NFC showdown between the Minnesota Vikings and the Dallas Cowboys, why the sharps have been in on the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks for most of the season, why publicizing the betting action is more about entertainment rather than giving bettors an edge, and much more! KD is Trying to Get Back to the Bay + Pro Football Focus lead NFL analyst Sam Monson

On today’s episode, Jason gets the party started by sharing his thoughts on Kevin Durant’s bombshell interview with Bleacher Report. It’s clear in the piece that KD is laying the groundwork for yet another trade demand out of Brooklyn. How else do you justify him publicly calling out members of the coaching staff and throwing his teammates under the bus?!? Moreover, given all the uncertainty surrounding the Golden State Warriors (Draymond Green’s punch, Klay Thompson’s underwhelming play, etc.), would it really be all that shocking if Durant and the Warriors decide to join forces yet again? It’s definitely something to monitor. Later, Pro Football Focus lead NFL analyst Sam Monson swings by to discuss the biggest difference between coaches like Jeff Saturday and Josh McDaniels, what has led to Josh Allen’s general regression as a quarterback the last few weeks, why he believes Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins have arguably the best offense in the NFL, how the New York Giants have been able to survive with poor offensive line play while the Los Angeles Rams have not, whether or not Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers offense truly turned a corner last week, why he believes the Philadelphia Eagles are still the best team in the NFC, and much more! On today’s episode, Pac-12 Network analyst and ‘5 Star QB: It’s Not About the Stars, It’s About the Journey’ author Yogi Roth swings by for a lengthy conversation with Jason and discusses why he believes the Pac-12 compares favorably to almost any conference in the country and it’s on the strength of their quarterbacks, why he believes the Arizona Wildcats could be really dangerous next season, the College Football Playoff implications of this week’s game between the USC Trojans and the UCLA Bruins, why he believes USC should be a lock for the CFP Final Four if they win their remaining three games, why the CFP committee’s treatment of the Pac-12 champion will show what they really value when these rankings are released, the inexact science that is quarterback evaluation – especially as it relates to Washington’s Michael Penix Jr., why he puts USC’s Caleb Williams alongside the most elite quarterbacks he’s ever been around, and much more! Taylor Heinicke Ruins the Eagles' Perfect Season & Kliff Kingsbury's Veiled Shot at Kyler Murray

On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a few thoughts on the Washington Commanders' upset victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. Taylor Heinicke is the kind of success story every sports fan loves to tell their kids about so it was pretty awesome to see him perform as well as he did on the big stage. His numbers don't jump off the page, but he's got all the moxie in the world and his teammates seem to love him. Don't look now...but the Commanders have an outside shot at the playoffs. On the flip side, everything that could go wrong did go wrong for Jalen Hurts and the Eagles. They turned the ball over three times (which they never do), they lost the second quarter (which they never do) and the opposing kicker drilled two from 55+ yards out (which never happens); the perfect season is over. Later, J-Mac explains how Kliff Kingsbury's comments praising Colt McCoy were actually a veiled shot at starting quarterback Kyler Murray. The Kingsbury-Kyler dynamic has been off for a long time, and there have been rumors that teammates like Budda Baker and JJ Watt aren't big fans of Kyler either. This is definitely something that bears. Finally, our fearless leader closes the show with a very quick NBA whip around. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Josh Allen is out of the MVP Race, the Raiders are the Most Disappointing Team in the NFL & the Truth About the Dolphins

On today’s episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) bring you wall-to-wall reaction to Week 10 in the NFL. The Minnesota Dolphins earned a shocking win over the Bills to keep their homes of earning #1 seed in the NFC in-play, but the big story here is what's going on in Buffalo. Josh Allen has officially been eliminated from MVP consideration. His rollercoaster play so far this season (big plays and brutal turnovers) has cost the Bills several games on the year, and now it's not even a lock that Buffalo wins the AFC East. Sticking in the AFC, has any team been more disappointing than the Las Vegas Raiders? Josh McDaniels and the boys lost to the Jeff Saturday-led Indianapolis Colts to fall to 2-7 on the season. It's unfathomable that McDaniels could take over a playoff team from last year, add Davante Adams and Chandler Jones, and have the team actually get worse. On the flip side, one AFC team that has surpassed all preseason expectations is the Miami Dolphins. J-Mac and Rob G seem pretty split on Tua Tagovailoa and the fellas at this point in the season; Is Miami a legitimate Super Bowl contender or just the product of a soft schedule? Either way, the next few weeks should give us the answer. Moving over to the NFC, Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is taking a ton of heat this morning for his controversial 4th down call in the Cowboys' overtime loss to the Green Bay Packers. But rather than tearing down Dallas, shouldn't we be giving Green Bay kudos for having the patience and discipline to stick to a ground game that ultimately broke the Dallas defense? Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Panthers Pound the Falcons, NFL Week 10 Best Bets + Professional sports bettor Brandon Lang

On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a quick thought on the Carolina Panthers' suffocating victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football. It wasn't always pretty - and all signs point towards the Tampa Bay Buccaneers being the team that ultimately wins the NFC South - but it was still a nice win for Carolina. Later, professional sports bettor and Bleav Podcast Network host Brandon Lang swings by to discuss how he made a big score earlier this week betting on Bellarmine to upset Louisville in college basketball, how much of the movie ‘Two For the Money’ starring Matthew McConaughey and Al Pacino (which is based on his life) is actually true, why he’s high on the Cleveland Browns and Green Bay Packers as underdogs against the spread this Sunday, why he likes the Houston Texans with the points against the New York Giants, why he absolutely refuses to bet on Arizona Cardinals vs the Los Angeles Rams, why he almost always stays away from the international NFL games, and much more! Plus, J-Mac gives us his best bet for the Thursday Night Football game between the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons. Are the Ravens Super Bowl Contenders? Hypothetical Anthony Davis Trades & the Colts are Clearly Tanking

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started with a quick note on the Baltimore Ravens' blowout victory over the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. The Ravens are one of the most banged up teams in the League and yet they keep finding ways to win. We still don't know for sure if the Ravens are legitimate Super Bowl contenders in the AFC... but we also don't know that they're not. Either way, the bye week could not have come for a better time for Lamar Jackson and the squad. Later, J-Mac closes the show with a deep dive into the rumor that the Los Angeles Lakers would be willing to trade Anthony Davis. The Lakers are going nowhere fast (2-8 on the season entering Monday), so it would make sense that they might look to blow things up and start anew. Would the Golden State Warriors be willing to flip James Wiseman to LA? Would the Atlanta Hawks include John Collins and Bogdan Bogdanovich in an AD trade? The possibilities are endless. Finally, our fearless leader ends the show by taking a verbal blowtorch to Jim Irsay and the Indianapolis Colts for their decision to hire Jeff Saturday to be their team's interim head coach. Irsay is certifiably crazy and Saturday is woefully unqualified; it's clear the Colts are trying to tank. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Big Win for Gang Green, the Raiders Really Stink & a Bad Day for Betting Favorites

On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) bring you wall-to-wall takes on everything that went down Week 9 of the NFL. The word of the day on Sunday was: "Parity". There were 6 games decided by 3 points or less, and neither of the day's biggest betting favorites - the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills - covered the spread. Speaking of the Bills, Josh Allen and the vaunted Buffalo offense was slowed by the stingy New York Jets defense in Gang Green's upset victory. Much like the Minnesota Vikings, we still don't know for sure whether or not the Jets are actually a good team, but they absolutely have a formula that works. In many ways, this current Jets squad is eerily similar to the Mark Sanchez-led crew that made back-to-back AFC Championship games. On the flip side, we absolutely know by now that the Las Vegas Raiders are arguably the biggest disappointments in the NFL this season. Davante Adams and the boys blew another 17-point lead in their latest debacle, and now we'd say it's fair to wonder whether head coach Josh McDaniels will still have a job after the season (and whether Adams' buddy Derek Carr will still be the starting quarterback). Moving over to the NFC, it's becoming increasingly hard to tell which preseason Super Bowl contender has been the uglier watch in 2022: the Los Angeles Rams or the Green Bay Packers. While Green Bay does have a bit of a built-in excuse given that they lost Adams in the offseason, the defending Super Bowl champions being this inept offensively is absolutely stunning. I guess there's a reason why we hardly ever see repeat champions in the NFL. An Underwhelming Eagles Win, Kyrie's Half-Hearted Apology + Professional sports bettor Bill Krackomberger

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started with a few quick thoughts on the Philadelphia Eagles' underwhelming Thursday Night Football victory over the Houston Texans. Philly mostly sleepwalked through the game and did just enough to get the win... but not quite enough to cover the spread. Plus, our fearless leader discusses Kyrie Irving's Instagram apology in the wake of the backlash (and eventual suspension) stemming from his social media promotion of an anti-Semitic documentary. It's clear that Kyrie only apologized because the Brooklyn Nets hit him in the wallet. Moreover, if Irving is really going to miss at least the next 5 games, does anybody really think things are going to get better for Brooklyn on the court? Later, professional sports bettor and FOX Sports Radio weekend host Bill Krackomberger swings by to discuss why he’s always preferred betting NFL totals and futures rather than sides, why it’s a smart play long-term to take double-digit underdogs against the spread, the importance of getting in early on gambling lines you like rather than waiting until the day or two before a game, why it’s not unusual for big bettors such as himself to move gambling lines, why professional betting syndicates have been unable to make a ton of money through the first half of the NFL season, and much more! A (Sort of) World Series No-Hitter, Tennessee vs Georgia Preview + Author Jeff Pearlman

On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a quick note on the Houston Astros' Game 4 World Series win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Four Houston pitchers combined to no-hit Philadelphia, and while it is impressive, it's nowhere near as impressive as a single pitcher throwing a no-hitter. Plus, J-Mac gives us a quick preview of the upcoming college football showdown between the #1 Tennessee Volunteers and the #3 Georgia Bulldogs. In a stunning turn of events, almost all of the early money is on the Vols plus the points. And, should Tennessee win this one outright, quarterback Hendon Hooker should be the Heisman favorite. Later, author Jeff Pearlman swings by to promote his new book, “The Last Folk Hero: The Life and Myth of Bo Jackson”. During the conversation, Pearlman discusses the difference between being a sports television celebrity and an ‘author’ celebrity, why just getting Bo’s blessing to write the book was more than enough – even if the two-sport star didn’t want to be involved with it himself, the levels of racism that Bo faced during his college years at Auburn, which of Bo’s legendary athletic achievements are the most unbelievable, how an unfortunate hip injury ultimately derailed Bo’s career as a professional athlete, the dark story behind the ‘Bo’ nickname, and much more! The Dolphins are Ready to do Damage while the Cowboys and Packers are Not & Kyrie is Killing the Nets

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started with a deep dive into a surprisingly active NFL Trade Deadline. The Chicago Bears' acquisition of wide receiver Chase Claypool was one of the better under-the-radar moves of day. The former Pittsburgh Steelers wideout definitely has his warts, but he also helps Chicago both in the short-term and the long-term as they look to build out the roster around quarterback Justin Fields. The biggest winner of the day, however, has to be the Miami Dolphins. The trade for pass rusher Bradley Chubb signals that the they're all-in on Tua Tagovailoa as their franchise guy moving forward, and that they should be viewed as a legitimate threat to the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC. If we include the Baltimore Ravens' trade for Roquan Smith, it's clear that both the Ravens and the Dolphins aren't about to concede the conference to Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. In the NFC, two of the biggest 'losers' have to be the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers as they both decided to sit back and let division rivals like the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles improve their rosters. Are we sure Dallas and Green Bay are all that serious about winning a Super Bowl? Finally, J-Mac closes the show by taking a verbal blowtorch to Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets in the wake of their decision to fire head coach Steve Nash. Browns Blast the Bengals on Halloween & a Trade that Could Shake Up the AFC

On today’s episode, Jason kicks things off with a deep dive into the Cleveland Browns’ Halloween night beatdown of the Cincinnati Bengals. Everyone was pumping up the Bengals coming into this one – even without Ja’Marr Chase – but our fearless leader knew all along that the Browns were the side here. With Deshaun Watson’s return on the horizon, Cleveland has a realistic shot to make the postseason (and they better hope it happens because once Watson’s salary really kicks in next season, they’re going to be in a really tough spot moving forward). Later, J-Mac shares his thoughts on the Baltimore Ravens’ acquisition of All-Pro linebacker Roquan Smith ahead of Tuesday’s NFL Trade Deadline. While the linebacker position isn’t close to the glamour position it’s been in year’s past, this trade should have huge playoff implications. The Ravens know if they’re going to make the Super Bowl they’ll need to go through Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen – two quarterbacks who do most of their damage off-script and outside of the pocket. If Smith can corral those two when it matters most, the Ravens could wind up representing the AFC in the Super Bowl. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - The 49ers are Scary, Witching Hour in Green Bay & the 2021 QB Class is Full of Ghosts

On this special Halloween episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) kick things off with a deep dive into the NFC Playoff picture heading into the midway point of the season. The addition of Christian McCaffrey has made the San Francisco 49ers offense downright scary. In fact, our fearless leader is already claiming that he'd take the Niners to beat the Philadelphia Eagles on the road should the two meet in the NFC Championship Game. On the flip side, Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers continue to disappoint, and it's looking more and more likely that The Pack will miss the postseason altogether unless they make a big move at tomorrow's trade deadline. In fact, the guys agree that it's likely - if not probable - that two of the preseason NFC favorites (Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Rams) will end up missing the playoffs altogether. Later, Rob G and J-Mac take a few minutes to vent their frustrations after their beloved Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets both laid clunkers in Week 8 on the heels of what had been impressive wins in Week 7. The Jets may still end up making the playoffs, but if they do, it won't be because Zach Wilson led them there. You could actually make the case that Wilson is the fourth best quarterback to come out of the wildly disappointing 2021 Quarterback class featuring Wilson, Trevor Lawrence, Mac Jones, Justin Fields and Trey Lance. And yet, as bad as the Jets played, the one base that deserves the most pity on Monday morning is the Carolina Panthers. The referees absolutely hosed Carolina with that ridiculous unsportsmanlike penalty after DJ Moore caught what many thought was the game-winning touchdown pass in the final seconds. The NFL has to get that fixed this offseason. Finally, the guys close the show with a few quick thoughts on a handful of NBA topics, including: the Los Angeles Lakers getting their first win, the sluggish start for so many supposed title contenders and the Josh Primo saga in San Antonio. The Bucs Look Busted, NFL Week 8 Best Bets + New York Post sports betting analyst Erich Richter

On today’s episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) kick things off with a few thoughts on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ ugly loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night. The Tom Brady-led Bucs offense looks broken, and now the defense banged up beyond recognition. Tampa has all the makings of a 7 or 8 win team… and since they play in the dumpster fire that is the NFC South they still might end up hosting a home playoff game. Either way, unless things change in a big way, the Bucs should not be viewed as a legitimate threat to win the Super Bowl. Later, New York Post sports betting analyst Erich Richter swings by to discuss why he believes the Arizona Cardinals are the smart play this Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, why he likes the Seattle Seahawks outright over the New York Giants, why he believes the New England Patriots issues are more about personnel than scheme, why the futures bet on the Los Angeles Chargers to miss the playoffs altogether is looking pretty right now, why the sharps are in on the Green Bay Packers over the Buffalo Bills against the spread, which player props he likes for Sunday, and much more! Lakers Need to Make a Trade ASAP, Russell Wilson is Kind of Cringey + The Athletic Buccaneers beat writer Greg Auman

On today's episode, Jason gets things started with a deep dive into the Los Angeles Lakers' road loss to the Denver Nuggets. Anthony Davis got banged up, LeBron James was bad and Russell Westbrook didn't even play. But, the big story here is that things can get even worse; there's a realistic chance that they start the season 0-7. Given how few shooters they have on the roster - and the bad mojo surrounding Westbrook - it's imperative that the Lakers made a trade sooner than later. Switching gears quickly to the NFL, it's time to publicly admit that Russell Wilson just might be the most cringey player in League history. Wilson's story about working out on the plane while his teammates were sleeping is exactly the kind of thing you'd expect to hear from a guy who had made a career doing too much. Later, The Athletic’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat writer Greg Auman swings by to discuss what’s wrong with the once-vaunted Buccaneers defense, why he doubts any members of the defense would actually be willing to call out Tom Brady for his own sub-par play, the optics surrounding Brady’s two-week sabbatical during training camp and decision to skip a walkthrough to go to Robert Kraft’s wedding, the biggest difference between former head coach Bruce Arians and current head coach Todd Bowles, the dynamic between Brady and Arians, why he expects this will be Brady’s final season as an NFL quarterback, and much more! What's Next for Russell Westbrook, Aaron Rodgers Threw His Teammates Under the Bus + Washington Post reporter Timothy Bella

On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) swings by to discuss their expectations moving forward for Russell Westbrook and the Los Angeles Lakers. All signs point to Russ getting traded sooner than later, but will it even really matter for the Lakers given how poorly constructed the rest of the roster is? Later, the guys take Aaron Rodgers to task for (once again) publicly throwing his Green Bay Packers teammates under the bus for their on-field miscues. Rodgers has continuously drawn a line in the sand to separate himself from his teammates so maybe this shouldn't be as big of a story as it is. Finally, Washington Post reporter and author Timothy Bella swings by to discuss why he decided to write his upcoming book about Charles Barkley in the first place and why the Round Mound of Rebound decided not to participate in the process, why Barkley’s comments about the Super Teams of today and players forcing their way out of town are a little hypocritical, how Barkley would have been covered if he played during the social media age, why longtime NBA writer Peter Vecsey decided he couldn’t work alongside Barkley on TNT, and much more! The Patriots' QB Problem, a Manic Monday for the Jets & the Sam Ehlinger Era in Indy

On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a deep dive into the Chicago Bears' shocking win over the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football. Not only did the game result crush a ton of Survivor Pools around the country, but it also sparked a quarterback controversy in New England. Mac Jones got pulled early in favor of Bailey Zappe, but it's like Zappe lit it up in the second half. Bill Belichick has a tough decision on his hands. Sticking in the AFC East, the New York Jets' playoff hopes took a massive blow when superstar running back Breece Hall and offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker were both ruled out for the season. The addition of James Robinson should help, but that won't be enough to keep the Jets in the playoff picture. One team that likely will not be in the AFC playoff mix is the Indianapolis Colts, who decided to bench Matt Ryan in favor of Sam Ehlinger as their starting quarterback. The University of Texas product is unproven but he should add an athletic spark to what has been a sluggish Colts offense. Finally, J-Mac closes the show by sharing his thoughts on a slew of NBA topics, including how the Los Angeles Lakers could benefit from a trio of franchises' looking to tank for Victor Wembanyama. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Brady and Rodgers Seeing How the Other Half Lives, Jets Flying High Again & Mahomes Can't Be Stopped

On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a lengthy discussion on the swift fall from grace for both Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers are each sitting at a disappointing 3-4, and neither team's Hall of Fame quarterback seems capable of pulling his team out of this rut right now. Can you imagine if both of these clubs miss the playoffs?! On a brighter note, the plucky New York Jets just keep on winning. This Jets squad is eerily similar to the Mark Sanchez-led teams from the mid-2000s; If New York could get a little more juice from quarterback Zach Wilson we might start to view them as a legitimate threat in the AFC. One team that's getting a ton of juice from their quarterback, however, is the Kansas City Chiefs. Did you see what Patrick Mahomes did to that vaunted San Francisco 49ers defense? Granted, the injury bug has hit the Niners pretty hard as of late, but the way Mahomes played on Sunday we doubt even a fully-healthy San Francisco squad could have slowed him down. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Does McCaffrey Make the 49ers the Best Team in the NFC? The Lakers Still Can't Shoot + Professional sports bettor Teddy Covers

On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) kick things off by sharing their thoughts on the blockbuster trade that sent All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers. The guys love the move both in the short-term and long-term With CMC, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle in the fold, it's fair to say that San Francisco has the best set of skill position players in the entire League. The 49ers should be viewed as a lock to make the NFC Championship Game, at a minimum. What's more, with quarterback Trey Lance still on his rookie deal, they should have no problem keeping that talent together moving forward. Moving over the NBA, the guys share a quick thought on the Los Angeles Lakers' loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Lake Show showed considerable improvement from Opening Night, but they still can't shoot a lick. Until that gets solved, it's hard to take them seriously in the Western Conference. Later, professional sports bettor Teddy Sevransky – ‘Teddy Covers’ – swings by to discuss why smart bettors are all-in on the Miami Dolphins against the Pittsburgh Steelers, why he’s confident in the Kansas City Chiefs as road favorites against the San Francisco 49ers*, why oddsmakers still don’t believe in the New York Giants and the New York Jets, why he's a believer in the Atlanta Falcons – at least from a gambling perspective, and much more! Finally, J-Mac closes the show with the NFL Week 7 edition of the Best Bet. Ominous Start for the Brooklyn Nets, Thursday Night Football Best Bets + Author Tyler Dunne

On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a quick whip around the NBA and explains why the Brooklyn Nets blowout loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on their home floor is an ominous sign. Kyrie Irving is as delusional as ever, and now suddenly his on-court play has started to taper off. It's definitely something to monitor moving forward. Later, Go Long founder and author of the new book ‘The Blood and Guts: How Tight Ends Save Football’, Tyler Dunne, swings by discuss how the NFL is trying to find a middle ground between violence and player safety, why Tony Gonzalez should be viewed as the pivot point for the modern day tight end, what makes the position so difficult to play, why he thought the Green Bay Packers should have traded Aaron Rodgers two years ago, the idea of a Buffalo Bills-Minnesota Vikings Super Bowl, and much more!
