Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - The Vikings are Frauds, an Honest Conversation About Justin Herbert & Should the Jets Bench Zach Wilson?
On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) bring the excitement to what had been a rather mundane NFL Sunday. First off, it's become painfully obvious that the New York Jets have a Zach Wilson problem. The second-year quarterback should've been benched in the Jets' ugly loss to the New England Patriots. He's missing open receivers, he's throwing the ball into coverage and worst of all he seems oblivious to the impact he's having on the rest of his teammates. Whether it happens during the season or in the offseason, the Jets will certainly be making a quarterback change. Speaking of quarterbacks, fresh off the latest Los Angeles Chargers collapse, Rob G believes it's time that we have an honest conversation about Justin Herbert. Herbert has elite tools, but is he really an elite quarterback? He doesn't win games as often as you'd expect and his numbers this season have been mostly middle-of-the-road. Moving over to the NFC, it's clear after the Dallas Cowboys' blowout victory on the road in Minnesota that Kirk Cousins and the Vikings are frauds. How else do you explain away an 8-2 team having a negative point differential? Outside of a miraculous win over the Buffalo Bills last week, the Vikings have been destroyed every time they step up in class. On the flip side, Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys proved on Sunday that the overtime loss last week against the Green Bay Packers was an aberration and that they should be viewed as legitimate Super Bowl contenders coming out of the NFC; Just imagine if Dallas can find a way to land Odell Beckham Jr. Finally, the guys close the show with a very special Monday Night Football San Francisco 49ers-Arizona Cardinals edition of the Best Bet. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - The Packers are Toast, NFL and World Cup Best Bets + Westgate SuperBook's Jay Kornegay
On today’s episode, Jason gets the party started with a full recap of the Tennessee Titans’ dismantling of the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football. Ryan Tannehill was tremendous Derrick Henry accounted for two touchdowns. On the flip side, Aaron Rodgers was mostly bad save for a few throws here and there. With the loss, it’s safe to say that the Packers are toast and will miss the playoffs for the first time in the Matt LaFleur Era. Later, Westgate Las Vegas Vice President of Race and Sports Operations Jay Kornegay swings by to discuss how the SuperBook dealt with bets made on the Buffalo Bills vs. Cleveland Browns after the game was moved to a neutral site due to inclement weather, why the number of the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Indianapolis Colts keeps moving in Indy’s direction, why it appears as though the Pros are on the Carolina Panthers and the Joes are on the Baltimore Ravens, where the sharps are in the AFC East showdown between New England Patriots and the New York Jets, how difficult it was to set the line for the big NFC showdown between the Minnesota Vikings and the Dallas Cowboys, why the sharps have been in on the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks for most of the season, why publicizing the betting action is more about entertainment rather than giving bettors an edge, and much more! KD is Trying to Get Back to the Bay + Pro Football Focus lead NFL analyst Sam Monson
On today’s episode, Jason gets the party started by sharing his thoughts on Kevin Durant’s bombshell interview with Bleacher Report. It’s clear in the piece that KD is laying the groundwork for yet another trade demand out of Brooklyn. How else do you justify him publicly calling out members of the coaching staff and throwing his teammates under the bus?!? Moreover, given all the uncertainty surrounding the Golden State Warriors (Draymond Green’s punch, Klay Thompson’s underwhelming play, etc.), would it really be all that shocking if Durant and the Warriors decide to join forces yet again? It’s definitely something to monitor. Later, Pro Football Focus lead NFL analyst Sam Monson swings by to discuss the biggest difference between coaches like Jeff Saturday and Josh McDaniels, what has led to Josh Allen’s general regression as a quarterback the last few weeks, why he believes Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins have arguably the best offense in the NFL, how the New York Giants have been able to survive with poor offensive line play while the Los Angeles Rams have not, whether or not Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers offense truly turned a corner last week, why he believes the Philadelphia Eagles are still the best team in the NFC, and much more! Finally, J-Mac closes the show with the Tennessee Titans vs Green Bay Packers Thursday Night Football edition of the Best Bet*. *Please note we had some audio issues while recording the Best Bet which have since been resolved. Pac-12 Network analyst Yogi Roth on USC's Playoff Chances, Elite 11 Quarterbacks & More!
On today’s episode, Pac-12 Network analyst and ‘5 Star QB: It’s Not About the Stars, It’s About the Journey’ author Yogi Roth swings by for a lengthy conversation with Jason and discusses why he believes the Pac-12 compares favorably to almost any conference in the country and it’s on the strength of their quarterbacks, why he believes the Arizona Wildcats could be really dangerous next season, the College Football Playoff implications of this week’s game between the USC Trojans and the UCLA Bruins, why he believes USC should be a lock for the CFP Final Four if they win their remaining three games, why the CFP committee’s treatment of the Pac-12 champion will show what they really value when these rankings are released, the inexact science that is quarterback evaluation – especially as it relates to Washington’s Michael Penix Jr., why he puts USC’s Caleb Williams alongside the most elite quarterbacks he’s ever been around, and much more! Taylor Heinicke Ruins the Eagles' Perfect Season & Kliff Kingsbury's Veiled Shot at Kyler Murray
On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a few thoughts on the Washington Commanders' upset victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. Taylor Heinicke is the kind of success story every sports fan loves to tell their kids about so it was pretty awesome to see him perform as well as he did on the big stage. His numbers don't jump off the page, but he's got all the moxie in the world and his teammates seem to love him. Don't look now...but the Commanders have an outside shot at the playoffs. On the flip side, everything that could go wrong did go wrong for Jalen Hurts and the Eagles. They turned the ball over three times (which they never do), they lost the second quarter (which they never do) and the opposing kicker drilled two from 55+ yards out (which never happens); the perfect season is over. Later, J-Mac explains how Kliff Kingsbury's comments praising Colt McCoy were actually a veiled shot at starting quarterback Kyler Murray. The Kingsbury-Kyler dynamic has been off for a long time, and there have been rumors that teammates like Budda Baker and JJ Watt aren't big fans of Kyler either. This is definitely something that bears. Finally, our fearless leader closes the show with a very quick NBA whip around. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Josh Allen is out of the MVP Race, the Raiders are the Most Disappointing Team in the NFL & the Truth About the Dolphins
On today’s episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) bring you wall-to-wall reaction to Week 10 in the NFL. The Minnesota Dolphins earned a shocking win over the Bills to keep their homes of earning #1 seed in the NFC in-play, but the big story here is what's going on in Buffalo. Josh Allen has officially been eliminated from MVP consideration. His rollercoaster play so far this season (big plays and brutal turnovers) has cost the Bills several games on the year, and now it's not even a lock that Buffalo wins the AFC East. Sticking in the AFC, has any team been more disappointing than the Las Vegas Raiders? Josh McDaniels and the boys lost to the Jeff Saturday-led Indianapolis Colts to fall to 2-7 on the season. It's unfathomable that McDaniels could take over a playoff team from last year, add Davante Adams and Chandler Jones, and have the team actually get worse. On the flip side, one AFC team that has surpassed all preseason expectations is the Miami Dolphins. J-Mac and Rob G seem pretty split on Tua Tagovailoa and the fellas at this point in the season; Is Miami a legitimate Super Bowl contender or just the product of a soft schedule? Either way, the next few weeks should give us the answer. Moving over to the NFC, Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is taking a ton of heat this morning for his controversial 4th down call in the Cowboys' overtime loss to the Green Bay Packers. But rather than tearing down Dallas, shouldn't we be giving Green Bay kudos for having the patience and discipline to stick to a ground game that ultimately broke the Dallas defense? Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Panthers Pound the Falcons, NFL Week 10 Best Bets + Professional sports bettor Brandon Lang
On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a quick thought on the Carolina Panthers' suffocating victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football. It wasn't always pretty - and all signs point towards the Tampa Bay Buccaneers being the team that ultimately wins the NFC South - but it was still a nice win for Carolina. Later, professional sports bettor and Bleav Podcast Network host Brandon Lang swings by to discuss how he made a big score earlier this week betting on Bellarmine to upset Louisville in college basketball, how much of the movie ‘Two For the Money’ starring Matthew McConaughey and Al Pacino (which is based on his life) is actually true, why he’s high on the Cleveland Browns and Green Bay Packers as underdogs against the spread this Sunday, why he likes the Houston Texans with the points against the New York Giants, why he absolutely refuses to bet on Arizona Cardinals vs the Los Angeles Rams, why he almost always stays away from the international NFL games, and much more! World Cup Roster Breakdown, Thursday Night Football Best Bets + FOX Sports College Football reporter Bruce Feldman
On today’s episode, Jason kicks things off with a few thoughts on the official 2022 World Cup roster. There were a handful of surprises as Alexi Lalas and Stu Holden suggested there might be. Will this young squad be able to gel in time to make some noise in Qatar? We’ll find out soon enough. Plus, J-Mac gives us his best bet for the Thursday Night Football game between the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons. Later, FOX Sports and The Athletic college football reporter Bruce Feldman swings by to discuss why the oddsmakers have the #4 TCU Horned Frogs as underdogs against the Texas Longhorns this Saturday, what makes the 2023 NFL Draft quarterback class so interesting, the biggest reason behind Jim Harbaugh and Michigan’s turnaround since the tumultuous 2020 season, preview what could be a de facto College Football Playoff game later this season between Michigan and Ohio State, the narrative that Alabama superstars Bryce Young and Will Anderson should sit out the rest of the season, and much more! 2022 World Cup Preview with FOX Soccer analyst Alexi Lalas
On today's episode, FOX Soccer analyst and former USMNT member Alexi Lalas swings by to help preview the upcoming 2022 World Cup. During the conversation, Lalas discusses the impact the 1994 USMNT World Cup and 1999 USWNT World Cup teams had on soccer here in the United States, who we can expect to be the primary goal scorers for the USA in the upcoming World Cup, how coach Gregg Berhalter has fundamentally changed US Soccer, why he expects the starting 11 to not feature a single player with World Cup experience when play kicks off in Qatar, what it's coming to take for the US to get out of the group stage, who he's picking to win it all, and much more! Are the Ravens Super Bowl Contenders? Hypothetical Anthony Davis Trades & the Colts are Clearly Tanking
On today's episode, Jason gets the party started with a quick note on the Baltimore Ravens' blowout victory over the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. The Ravens are one of the most banged up teams in the League and yet they keep finding ways to win. We still don't know for sure if the Ravens are legitimate Super Bowl contenders in the AFC... but we also don't know that they're not. Either way, the bye week could not have come for a better time for Lamar Jackson and the squad. Later, J-Mac closes the show with a deep dive into the rumor that the Los Angeles Lakers would be willing to trade Anthony Davis. The Lakers are going nowhere fast (2-8 on the season entering Monday), so it would make sense that they might look to blow things up and start anew. Would the Golden State Warriors be willing to flip James Wiseman to LA? Would the Atlanta Hawks include John Collins and Bogdan Bogdanovich in an AD trade? The possibilities are endless. Finally, our fearless leader ends the show by taking a verbal blowtorch to Jim Irsay and the Indianapolis Colts for their decision to hire Jeff Saturday to be their team's interim head coach. Irsay is certifiably crazy and Saturday is woefully unqualified; it's clear the Colts are trying to tank. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Big Win for Gang Green, the Raiders Really Stink & a Bad Day for Betting Favorites
On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) bring you wall-to-wall takes on everything that went down Week 9 of the NFL. The word of the day on Sunday was: "Parity". There were 6 games decided by 3 points or less, and neither of the day's biggest betting favorites - the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills - covered the spread. Speaking of the Bills, Josh Allen and the vaunted Buffalo offense was slowed by the stingy New York Jets defense in Gang Green's upset victory. Much like the Minnesota Vikings, we still don't know for sure whether or not the Jets are actually a good team, but they absolutely have a formula that works. In many ways, this current Jets squad is eerily similar to the Mark Sanchez-led crew that made back-to-back AFC Championship games. On the flip side, we absolutely know by now that the Las Vegas Raiders are arguably the biggest disappointments in the NFL this season. Davante Adams and the boys blew another 17-point lead in their latest debacle, and now we'd say it's fair to wonder whether head coach Josh McDaniels will still have a job after the season (and whether Adams' buddy Derek Carr will still be the starting quarterback). Moving over to the NFC, it's becoming increasingly hard to tell which preseason Super Bowl contender has been the uglier watch in 2022: the Los Angeles Rams or the Green Bay Packers. While Green Bay does have a bit of a built-in excuse given that they lost Adams in the offseason, the defending Super Bowl champions being this inept offensively is absolutely stunning. I guess there's a reason why we hardly ever see repeat champions in the NFL. An Underwhelming Eagles Win, Kyrie's Half-Hearted Apology + Professional sports bettor Bill Krackomberger
On today's episode, Jason gets the party started with a few quick thoughts on the Philadelphia Eagles' underwhelming Thursday Night Football victory over the Houston Texans. Philly mostly sleepwalked through the game and did just enough to get the win... but not quite enough to cover the spread. Plus, our fearless leader discusses Kyrie Irving's Instagram apology in the wake of the backlash (and eventual suspension) stemming from his social media promotion of an anti-Semitic documentary. It's clear that Kyrie only apologized because the Brooklyn Nets hit him in the wallet. Moreover, if Irving is really going to miss at least the next 5 games, does anybody really think things are going to get better for Brooklyn on the court? Later, professional sports bettor and FOX Sports Radio weekend host Bill Krackomberger swings by to discuss why he’s always preferred betting NFL totals and futures rather than sides, why it’s a smart play long-term to take double-digit underdogs against the spread, the importance of getting in early on gambling lines you like rather than waiting until the day or two before a game, why it’s not unusual for big bettors such as himself to move gambling lines, why professional betting syndicates have been unable to make a ton of money through the first half of the NFL season, and much more! A (Sort of) World Series No-Hitter, Tennessee vs Georgia Preview + Author Jeff Pearlman
On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a quick note on the Houston Astros' Game 4 World Series win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Four Houston pitchers combined to no-hit Philadelphia, and while it is impressive, it's nowhere near as impressive as a single pitcher throwing a no-hitter. Plus, J-Mac gives us a quick preview of the upcoming college football showdown between the #1 Tennessee Volunteers and the #3 Georgia Bulldogs. In a stunning turn of events, almost all of the early money is on the Vols plus the points. And, should Tennessee win this one outright, quarterback Hendon Hooker should be the Heisman favorite. Later, author Jeff Pearlman swings by to promote his new book, “The Last Folk Hero: The Life and Myth of Bo Jackson”. During the conversation, Pearlman discusses the difference between being a sports television celebrity and an ‘author’ celebrity, why just getting Bo’s blessing to write the book was more than enough – even if the two-sport star didn’t want to be involved with it himself, the levels of racism that Bo faced during his college years at Auburn, which of Bo’s legendary athletic achievements are the most unbelievable, how an unfortunate hip injury ultimately derailed Bo’s career as a professional athlete, the dark story behind the ‘Bo’ nickname, and much more! The Dolphins are Ready to do Damage while the Cowboys and Packers are Not & Kyrie is Killing the Nets
On today's episode, Jason gets the party started with a deep dive into a surprisingly active NFL Trade Deadline. The Chicago Bears' acquisition of wide receiver Chase Claypool was one of the better under-the-radar moves of day. The former Pittsburgh Steelers wideout definitely has his warts, but he also helps Chicago both in the short-term and the long-term as they look to build out the roster around quarterback Justin Fields. The biggest winner of the day, however, has to be the Miami Dolphins. The trade for pass rusher Bradley Chubb signals that the they're all-in on Tua Tagovailoa as their franchise guy moving forward, and that they should be viewed as a legitimate threat to the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC. If we include the Baltimore Ravens' trade for Roquan Smith, it's clear that both the Ravens and the Dolphins aren't about to concede the conference to Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. In the NFC, two of the biggest 'losers' have to be the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers as they both decided to sit back and let division rivals like the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles improve their rosters. Are we sure Dallas and Green Bay are all that serious about winning a Super Bowl? Finally, J-Mac closes the show by taking a verbal blowtorch to Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets in the wake of their decision to fire head coach Steve Nash. Brooklyn is an absolute dumpster fire right now, and so long as Kyrie is on the team, it's hard to imagine things getting any better. Browns Blast the Bengals on Halloween & a Trade that Could Shake Up the AFC
On today’s episode, Jason kicks things off with a deep dive into the Cleveland Browns’ Halloween night beatdown of the Cincinnati Bengals. Everyone was pumping up the Bengals coming into this one – even without Ja’Marr Chase – but our fearless leader knew all along that the Browns were the side here. With Deshaun Watson’s return on the horizon, Cleveland has a realistic shot to make the postseason (and they better hope it happens because once Watson’s salary really kicks in next season, they’re going to be in a really tough spot moving forward). Later, J-Mac shares his thoughts on the Baltimore Ravens’ acquisition of All-Pro linebacker Roquan Smith ahead of Tuesday’s NFL Trade Deadline. While the linebacker position isn’t close to the glamour position it’s been in year’s past, this trade should have huge playoff implications. The Ravens know if they’re going to make the Super Bowl they’ll need to go through Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen – two quarterbacks who do most of their damage off-script and outside of the pocket. If Smith can corral those two when it matters most, the Ravens could wind up representing the AFC in the Super Bowl. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - The 49ers are Scary, Witching Hour in Green Bay & the 2021 QB Class is Full of Ghosts
On this special Halloween episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) kick things off with a deep dive into the NFC Playoff picture heading into the midway point of the season. The addition of Christian McCaffrey has made the San Francisco 49ers offense downright scary. In fact, our fearless leader is already claiming that he'd take the Niners to beat the Philadelphia Eagles on the road should the two meet in the NFC Championship Game. On the flip side, Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers continue to disappoint, and it's looking more and more likely that The Pack will miss the postseason altogether unless they make a big move at tomorrow's trade deadline. In fact, the guys agree that it's likely - if not probable - that two of the preseason NFC favorites (Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Rams) will end up missing the playoffs altogether. Later, Rob G and J-Mac take a few minutes to vent their frustrations after their beloved Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets both laid clunkers in Week 8 on the heels of what had been impressive wins in Week 7. The Jets may still end up making the playoffs, but if they do, it won't be because Zach Wilson led them there. You could actually make the case that Wilson is the fourth best quarterback to come out of the wildly disappointing 2021 Quarterback class featuring Wilson, Trevor Lawrence, Mac Jones, Justin Fields and Trey Lance. And yet, as bad as the Jets played, the one base that deserves the most pity on Monday morning is the Carolina Panthers. The referees absolutely hosed Carolina with that ridiculous unsportsmanlike penalty after DJ Moore caught what many thought was the game-winning touchdown pass in the final seconds. The NFL has to get that fixed this offseason. Finally, the guys close the show with a few quick thoughts on a handful of NBA topics, including: the Los Angeles Lakers getting their first win, the sluggish start for so many supposed title contenders and the Josh Primo saga in San Antonio. The Bucs Look Busted, NFL Week 8 Best Bets + New York Post sports betting analyst Erich Richter
On today’s episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) kick things off with a few thoughts on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ ugly loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night. The Tom Brady-led Bucs offense looks broken, and now the defense banged up beyond recognition. Tampa has all the makings of a 7 or 8 win team… and since they play in the dumpster fire that is the NFC South they still might end up hosting a home playoff game. Either way, unless things change in a big way, the Bucs should not be viewed as a legitimate threat to win the Super Bowl. Later, New York Post sports betting analyst Erich Richter swings by to discuss why he believes the Arizona Cardinals are the smart play this Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, why he likes the Seattle Seahawks outright over the New York Giants, why he believes the New England Patriots issues are more about personnel than scheme, why the futures bet on the Los Angeles Chargers to miss the playoffs altogether is looking pretty right now, why the sharps are in on the Green Bay Packers over the Buffalo Bills against the spread, which player props he likes for Sunday, and much more! Lakers Need to Make a Trade ASAP, Russell Wilson is Kind of Cringey + The Athletic Buccaneers beat writer Greg Auman
On today's episode, Jason gets things started with a deep dive into the Los Angeles Lakers' road loss to the Denver Nuggets. Anthony Davis got banged up, LeBron James was bad and Russell Westbrook didn't even play. But, the big story here is that things can get even worse; there's a realistic chance that they start the season 0-7. Given how few shooters they have on the roster - and the bad mojo surrounding Westbrook - it's imperative that the Lakers made a trade sooner than later. Switching gears quickly to the NFL, it's time to publicly admit that Russell Wilson just might be the most cringey player in League history. Wilson's story about working out on the plane while his teammates were sleeping is exactly the kind of thing you'd expect to hear from a guy who had made a career doing too much. Later, The Athletic’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat writer Greg Auman swings by to discuss what’s wrong with the once-vaunted Buccaneers defense, why he doubts any members of the defense would actually be willing to call out Tom Brady for his own sub-par play, the optics surrounding Brady’s two-week sabbatical during training camp and decision to skip a walkthrough to go to Robert Kraft’s wedding, the biggest difference between former head coach Bruce Arians and current head coach Todd Bowles, the dynamic between Brady and Arians, why he expects this will be Brady’s final season as an NFL quarterback, and much more! What's Next for Russell Westbrook, Aaron Rodgers Threw His Teammates Under the Bus + Washington Post reporter Timothy Bella
On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) swings by to discuss their expectations moving forward for Russell Westbrook and the Los Angeles Lakers. All signs point to Russ getting traded sooner than later, but will it even really matter for the Lakers given how poorly constructed the rest of the roster is? Later, the guys take Aaron Rodgers to task for (once again) publicly throwing his Green Bay Packers teammates under the bus for their on-field miscues. Rodgers has continuously drawn a line in the sand to separate himself from his teammates so maybe this shouldn't be as big of a story as it is. Finally, Washington Post reporter and author Timothy Bella swings by to discuss why he decided to write his upcoming book about Charles Barkley in the first place and why the Round Mound of Rebound decided not to participate in the process, why Barkley’s comments about the Super Teams of today and players forcing their way out of town are a little hypocritical, how Barkley would have been covered if he played during the social media age, why longtime NBA writer Peter Vecsey decided he couldn’t work alongside Barkley on TNT, and much more! The Patriots' QB Problem, a Manic Monday for the Jets & the Sam Ehlinger Era in Indy
On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a deep dive into the Chicago Bears' shocking win over the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football. Not only did the game result crush a ton of Survivor Pools around the country, but it also sparked a quarterback controversy in New England. Mac Jones got pulled early in favor of Bailey Zappe, but it's like Zappe lit it up in the second half. Bill Belichick has a tough decision on his hands. Sticking in the AFC East, the New York Jets' playoff hopes took a massive blow when superstar running back Breece Hall and offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker were both ruled out for the season. The addition of James Robinson should help, but that won't be enough to keep the Jets in the playoff picture. One team that likely will not be in the AFC playoff mix is the Indianapolis Colts, who decided to bench Matt Ryan in favor of Sam Ehlinger as their starting quarterback. The University of Texas product is unproven but he should add an athletic spark to what has been a sluggish Colts offense. Finally, J-Mac closes the show by sharing his thoughts on a slew of NBA topics, including how the Los Angeles Lakers could benefit from a trio of franchises' looking to tank for Victor Wembanyama. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Brady and Rodgers Seeing How the Other Half Lives, Jets Flying High Again & Mahomes Can't Be Stopped
On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a lengthy discussion on the swift fall from grace for both Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers are each sitting at a disappointing 3-4, and neither team's Hall of Fame quarterback seems capable of pulling his team out of this rut right now. Can you imagine if both of these clubs miss the playoffs?! On a brighter note, the plucky New York Jets just keep on winning. This Jets squad is eerily similar to the Mark Sanchez-led teams from the mid-2000s; If New York could get a little more juice from quarterback Zach Wilson we might start to view them as a legitimate threat in the AFC. One team that's getting a ton of juice from their quarterback, however, is the Kansas City Chiefs. Did you see what Patrick Mahomes did to that vaunted San Francisco 49ers defense? Granted, the injury bug has hit the Niners pretty hard as of late, but the way Mahomes played on Sunday we doubt even a fully-healthy San Francisco squad could have slowed him down. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Does McCaffrey Make the 49ers the Best Team in the NFC? The Lakers Still Can't Shoot + Professional sports bettor Teddy Covers
On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) kick things off by sharing their thoughts on the blockbuster trade that sent All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers. The guys love the move both in the short-term and long-term With CMC, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle in the fold, it's fair to say that San Francisco has the best set of skill position players in the entire League. The 49ers should be viewed as a lock to make the NFC Championship Game, at a minimum. What's more, with quarterback Trey Lance still on his rookie deal, they should have no problem keeping that talent together moving forward. Moving over the NBA, the guys share a quick thought on the Los Angeles Lakers' loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Lake Show showed considerable improvement from Opening Night, but they still can't shoot a lick. Until that gets solved, it's hard to take them seriously in the Western Conference. Later, professional sports bettor Teddy Sevransky – ‘Teddy Covers’ – swings by to discuss why smart bettors are all-in on the Miami Dolphins against the Pittsburgh Steelers, why he’s confident in the Kansas City Chiefs as road favorites against the San Francisco 49ers*, why oddsmakers still don’t believe in the New York Giants and the New York Jets, why he's a believer in the Atlanta Falcons – at least from a gambling perspective, and much more! Ominous Start for the Brooklyn Nets, Thursday Night Football Best Bets + Author Tyler Dunne
On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a quick whip around the NBA and explains why the Brooklyn Nets blowout loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on their home floor is an ominous sign. Kyrie Irving is as delusional as ever, and now suddenly his on-court play has started to taper off. It's definitely something to monitor moving forward. Later, Go Long founder and author of the new book ‘The Blood and Guts: How Tight Ends Save Football’, Tyler Dunne, swings by discuss how the NFL is trying to find a middle ground between violence and player safety, why Tony Gonzalez should be viewed as the pivot point for the modern day tight end, what makes the position so difficult to play, why he thought the Green Bay Packers should have traded Aaron Rodgers two years ago, the idea of a Buffalo Bills-Minnesota Vikings Super Bowl, and much more! A Silver Lining for the Lakers, NBA Opening Night Reactions & the 2022-23 NBA Predictions
On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) kick things off with a deep into the Golden State Warriors' Opening Night beatdown of the Los Angeles Lakers. While most of the talking heads will use the game as an excuse to rip the Lakers, Jason is looking for the silver lining. Every flaw we thought they had (lack of chemistry due to roster turnover, lack of overall shooting, etc.) was exposed, but we also saw a few good things they can build upon. But, no matter how you slice it, it's pretty clear that the Lakers are lightyears away from Steph Curry and the Warriors at this point. Later, J-Mac brings us a full preview of the 2022-23 NBA season, both from a purely basketball and gambling perspective. Are we sure LeBron and the Lakers will be comfortably in the playoffs? Can Giannis Antetokounmpo carry an injury-depleted Milwaukee Bucks team in the East? Is this the year Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers finally break through? Which Eastern Conference forward is a better bet to win MVP: Kevin Durant or Jayson Tatum? Will the return of Jamal Murray alongside Nikola Jokic be enough to propel the Denver Nuggets to the top of the Western Conference? Chargers Luck Out Again, the Broncos Look Busted + ESPN NBA reporter Dave McMenamin
On today's episode, Jason opens things up with a few thoughts on the ugly Monday Night Football game between the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers lucked into victory for the second consecutive week (this time thanks to a muffed punt in overtime), and were it not for some absolutely horrendous quarterback play from Russell Wilson in the second half and overtime, fans in Los Angeles would be losing their minds this morning. Neither team looked like they deserved to get the win last night, but given how clustered things are at the top of the AFC, we're sure the Chargers will take it. Later, ESPN NBA reporter Dave McMenamin swings by to discuss what the realistic expectations should be this season for the Los Angeles Lakers, why Patrick Beverley is the third most important player on the team behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis, why the team has such high hopes for Kendrick Nunn, why a rumored Russell Westbrook trade to the Indiana Pacers ultimately fell through and whether or not we can expect Russ to finish the season on the roster, what it’s like covering LeBron on a day-to-day basis, and much more! Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Tom Brady Isn't Focused, Aaron Rodgers and Lamar Jackson are on the Struggle Bus & The Bills are the Best Team in the NFL
On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) bring you wall-to-wall analysis of all the Sunday NFL action in Week 6. With apologies to Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes, the biggest story has to be Tom Brady. TB12 skipped a Saturday walk through to go to Robert Kraft's wedding over the weekend... and promptly lost to a Pittsburgh Steelers team that just got blasted by 35 points the week before. Whether it's the Kraft wedding, the separation from Gisele Bundchen or the two-week sabbatical during training camp, it's pretty clear that Brady isn't fully focused on football right now. However, Brady isn't the only NFL quarterback whose currently going through a rough patch right now as both Aaron Rodgers and Lamar Jackson appear to be stuck on the Struggle Bus the last few weeks. Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers offense have been stuck in neutral all season long, and it's become painfully obvious that they need to make a move for a veteran wide receiver (DJ Moore, Brandin Cooks, etc.) In Baltimore, Jackson has seen his play taper off considerably the last few weeks. If he can't get back to the MVP-level he showed early on, are we sure he's going to get that fully guaranteed contract from the Ravens he's been seeking? Later, the recap the two biggest games of the day (Chiefs vs. Bills / Cowboys vs Eagles), and do a quick debate about whether the Bills or the Eagles should be viewed as the best team in the NFL right now. Their answers may surprise you. Finally, J-Mac closes the show with the Monday Night Football Denver Broncos vs. Los Angeles Chargers edition of the Best Bet. Commanders Win the Latest Thursday Night Snoozefest, a Dark Horse College Football Playoff Contender + Vegas Insider host Joe Osborne
On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) get the party started by sharing their thoughts on the unbelievably boring Thursday Night game between the Washington Commanders and the Chicago Bears. The fact that Ron Rivera's postgame rant is getting more play on Friday morning than the game itself speaks volumes. Later, the guys hit us rapid fire with sports takes on everything from UCLA's case as a dark horse College Football Playoff contender to whether or not Josh McDaniels could be one-and-done as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. Oh, and with NBA Opening Night around the corner, J-Mac and Rob G tell us whether or not we should expect the LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers to miss the playoffs yet again. Finally, Vegas Insider ‘Chasing That Paper!’ host Joe Osborne swings by to discuss why he likes – but doesn’t quite love – the Buffalo Bills to cover the spread this Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs, why the public bettors might be on to something by going to heavy on the New Orleans Saints over the Cincinnati Bengals, why the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Pittsburgh Steelers is one of the biggest mismatches on the board, why he’s betting the over in the Minnesota Vikings vs Miami Dolphins game, why he loves the Seattle Seahawks with the points against the Arizona Cardinals, and much more! Bad News for Bryce Young, a Strange Decision on Draymond Green & the Thursday Night Football Best Bet
On today's episode, Jason gets the party started with a little inside information pertaining to Alabama quarterback Bryce Young. College football fans across the country are geeked for this Saturday's showdown between the Crimson Tide and the Tennessee Volunteers. Unfortunately, all signs point to Young missing the game due to injury. On a positive note, at least now all eyes will be focused on Tennessee's dark horse Heisman contender: Hendon Hooker. Later, Jason switches gears to the NBA to share his thoughts on the Golden State Warriors' decision not to suspend Draymond Green after he punched teammate Jordan Poole at practice. The video getting released certainly changed the way the public felt about the incident, so it is a little shocking that the Warriors would welcome Green back so easily. Either way, don't be shocked if this is Draymond's final season with the Warriors. Monday Night Football Recap: Chris Jones got Hosed, Davante Adams Shoved a Fan & the Chiefs Got the Win
On today's episode, Jason hits us with a deep dive into the wild Monday Night Football game between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs won the game, but the end result seemed almost secondary given how many 'other' storylines emerged. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were unstoppable for Kansas City... and yet the Chiefs player generating the most buzz this morning is defensive tackle Chris Jones in the wake of that phantom roughing the passing call. The NFL officiating in the wake of the Tua Tagovailoa injury has been absolutely brutal. Josh Jacobs and Davante Adams had monster games themselves... and yet all anyone wanted to talk about was Adams shoving a cameraman in frustration as he exited the field. At a minimum, Adams is looking at a hefty fine - and a potential personal injury lawsuit. With the Raiders sitting at 1-4 and head coach Josh McDaniels making a series of questionable decisions, it's entirely possible that he could be sitting on the coaching hot seat the rest of the season. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Time for the Steelers to Tank, How the Jets Can Make the Playoffs & Is Stafford Better than Goff?
On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) bring you wall-to-wall analysis on all the biggest headlines to come out of Sunday's NFL action. First, it's time for the Pittsburgh Steelers to embrace the tank. The Buffalo Bills absolutely obliterated the Steelers on Sunday, and given how banged up that roster is right now, there's a good chance they could be 1-7 at the season's mid-way point. Pittsburgh is going to be bad whether they want to be or not, so they might as well dive into the deep end. Sticking in the AFC, have you noticed that the New York Jets have the third best record in the conference through five weeks? With teams like the Miami Dolphins banged up beyond recognition and teams like the Cincinnati Bengals being woefully disappointing, it's not hard to image a scenario where the Jets sneak into the playoffs - especially if the Los Angeles Chargers continue to eschew common sense in favor of analytics. Moving over the NFC, it's time to have a real conversation about the Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams. Stafford has been a turnover machine, but he's not getting much help from anyone else on that offense outside of Cooper Kupp. That said, is it fair to say that the move from Jared Goff to Stafford was a lateral one? A case can certainly be made that both guys only seem to thrive when everything else is clicking around him and turn into dumpster fires when things get shaky. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Another Rough Night for Russell Wilson and the Broncos, NFL Week 5 Best Bets + Vegas Insider reporter Patrick Everson
On today’s episode, Jason kicks things off by taking a verbal baseball bat to Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos in the wake of their embarrassing home loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Wilson and the offense have been unbelievably bad through the first week of the regular season. If things don’t turn around – and fast – head coach Nathaniel Hackett could get fired before the calendar hits December. Later, Vegas Insider and FOX Sports reporter Patrick Everson swings by to discuss why some sportsbooks are less forthcoming with betting trends, why in-game wagering can actually be more beneficial for bettors when they don’t really love one particular side, why the Pros and the Joes are split on the Dallas Cowboys-Los Angeles Rams game, why the sharps were in so early on the Cincinnati Bengals over the Baltimore Ravens, why he’s staying far away from Buffalo Bills-Pittsburgh Steelers, and much more! Defending Anthony Davis, Draymond Green Decked His Teammate + CBS Colorado sports reporter Justin Adams
On today’s episode, Jason kicks things off with a quick defense of Anthony Davis in the wake of the online backlash that hit the Los Angeles Lakers big man after he sat out Wednesday’s preseason game with a back issue. Has anyone noticed that AD has actually been more available than superstars like Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and Kyrie Irving? Why the talking heads have taken Davis to task but let the other guys slide is beyond me. Sticking in the NBA, multiple outlets reported that Draymond Green punched Jordan Poole at practice on Wednesday. Almost immediately after the news broke several reporters tried to spin the news in Green’s favor. Chances are this whole thing blows over, but if it doesn’t, you just know the Golden State Warriors would choose Poole. Later, CBS Colorado sports reporter Justin Adams swings by to preview the Thursday Night Football matchup between the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts, how the Denver offense has turned Russell Wilson into the rookie year version of himself, where Wilson ranks in the hierarchy of AFC West quarterbacks, why it’s become clear that head coach Nathaniel Hackett is in over his head, the possibility that Eric Bieniemy could become the next head coach of the Colorado Buffalos, and much more! The Truth About Aaron Judge's 62*, Wenbanyama and Scoot Steal the Show + FOX Soccer analyst Stu Holden
On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a few thoughts on Aaron Judge hitting his 62nd home run of the season. It's a great accomplishment, but the fact remains that Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa all hit more dingers in a single season. So why then are television executives going out of their way to ignore it? Is it because Major League Baseball was complicit in the Steroid Era? Plus, J-Mac does a quick dive into the big showdown between the presumptive #1 and #2 picks in the 2023 NBA Draft - Victor Wembanyama and Scoot Henderson. Big Vic is obviously the crown jewel, but Scoot is no consolation prize. In fact, Jason argues that Henderson is the second-coming of Derrick Rose. Later, FOX Soccer analyst Stu Holden swings by to discuss the US Men’s National Team’s underwhelming outings recently ahead of the upcoming World Cup, how he sees the final roster coming together and which potential lineup issues they could face, what we can expect from this young team in their first World Cup, the keys to getting out of group play, the steady growth of Major League Soccer here in the United States, and much more! Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Rams Aren't Real Contenders, Matthew Stafford the Turnover Machine & NBA Preseason Overreactions
On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) swings by to discuss the San Francisco 49ers' bludgeoning of the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football. As impressive as the Niners looked, however, the real story here has to be the Rams. Their offensive line has been terrible through the first 4 weeks, and if they can't get it together it's hard to take them seriously as a Super Bowl contender this season. In fact, the guys argue that the defending champions shouldn't even be viewed as Tier 2 Super Bowl contender at this point. The only point of contention for J-Mac and Rob G is how much of the blame lies at the feet of Matthew Stafford. Was last season's playoff run just a mirage? Is he really nothing more than a more polished version of Jameis Winston? Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Ravens Blow Another Big Lead, the Bucs Deserve a Pass & Baker Mayfield's Last Season in the NFL?
On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) get the party started with a deep dive into the Baltimore Ravens' crushing loss at home to Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. The Ravens have now blown 17+ point leads in both of their losses so far this season, and John Harbaugh is taking a ton of heat this morning for his decision to forego a field goal in the final minutes in favor of a 4th down try from the two yard line (which resulted in a Lamar Jackson interception). Baltimore wasn't the only heavyweight taking arrows today, however, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers got absolutely blasted by Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night. Even still, J-Mac says Tom Brady and the boys deserve a pass for their performance for several reasons - most notably because there was a freaking hurricane ravaging through the state of Florida all last week! It's hard to focus on football when the entire region is flooded. Just sayin'... Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers beat the New England Patriots, but they haven't been impressive in any of their 3 victories so far this season. On the flip side, Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos lost to the Las Vegas Raiders in what was arguably their best offensive performance of the year. Is it fair to say that neither team is all that good? Speaking of disappointments, have you seen what Baker Mayfield has been doing with the Carolina Panthers thus far? Yikes! In fact, things have gotten so bad for the former #1 overall pick that J-Mac and Rob G actually had to discuss whether or not Mayfield would be back in the NFL in 2023. Aaron Judge's 61st Blast Got Botched, a Tipping Point for the Patriots & Monday Night Football Best Bets
On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a quick homage to Aaron Judge after the New York Yankees' slugger hit his 61st home run of the season. It was a historic moment in MLB history... and YES Network play-by-play man Michael Kay absolutely botched the call. Moments like that deserve an iconic call (and a little ambient crowd noise), but Kay couldn't deliver. Not to be outdone, a group of fans in the stands had a chance to catch the historic home run ball and not a single one was able to come down with it. Oy! Moving over to the NFL, it's all bad right now for the Los Angeles Chargers and the New England Patriots. Now that Joey Bosa is on the shelf, the Chargers will play the foreseeable future with their best pass rusher and their starting left tackle, their starting center; Not to mention, their best wide receiver, their top cover man and their quarterback Justin Herbert are also banged up. This season could get away from the Chargers pretty quickly. In New England, it's become pretty clear that we've reached a tipping point as it relates to Bill Belichick and his future with the club. Mac Jones looks to be average-at-best and the overall roster is pretty terrible. So why then is Belichick choosing to stick around? Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Tough Times for Tua, NFL Week 4 Best Bets + Professional sports bettor Rufus Peabody
On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a few thoughts on Tua Tagovailoa's scary injury on Thursday Night Football. The Cincinnati Bengals won the game, but the result of the contest became secondary once we saw Tua taken off the field on a stretcher with a concussion. Things have not gone according to plan since Tua exploded on the scene at Alabama (hip and ankle injuries, former head coach Brian Flores mostly hating him, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross trying - and failing - to replace him on multiple occasions), so it's hard not to feel bad for him, especially after last night. Later, professional sports bettor and co-founder of Unabated Sports and Massey-Peabody Analytics swings by to discuss why it’s so important to shop around for the best number when betting on everything from futures to props, why is ranking system is so much higher on Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars than the general public seems to be, why it’s clear that Russell Wilson’s move to the Denver Broncos has been overvalued by the market, why you shouldn’t buy into the narrative that the Buffalo Bills can’t win close games, why he likes the Green Bay Packers to win big over the New England Patriots – but not that big, how his system differentiates from other sites like Pro Football Focus, and much more! Cowboys Have Something with Cooper Rush, Russell Westbrook the Sixth Man & More Kyrie Irving Foolishness
On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) kick things off with a deep dive into the Dallas Cowboys' Monday Night Football victory over the New York Giants. Most of us left the Cowboys for dead once Dak Prescott went down in Week 1, but backup Cooper Rush has been an absolute revelation in his absence. Dallas has won two in a row with Rush under center and suddenly look like they could be a top-5 team in the NFC once Dak and Michael Gallup return to the lineup. Later, the guys share their thoughts on the latest scuttlebutt to come out of Los Angeles Lakers media day as Darvin Ham admitted publicly that Russell Westbrook won't have a guaranteed spot in the starting lineup. It's been pretty clear for months that the team would prefer to move on from Westbrook altogether and perhaps relegating him to the bench could be the first step towards accomplishing that goal. Finally, J-Mac and Rob G close the show with a deep dive into the latest nonsense to come out of Kyrie Irving's mouth. The Brooklyn Nets point guard actually said with a straight face that he sacrificed over $100 million by refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine before last season. The problem with that statement, however, is general manager Sean Marks said a few minutes later that no such ultimatum ever existed and multiple NBA salary cap experts have said that Kyrie actually stood to make over $50 million more by signing an extension after the season. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - The Fraudulent AFC West, Eagles Run the NFC & the Monday Night Football Best Bet
On today’s episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) bring you wall-to-wall analysis of all the biggest storylines to come out of Week 3 in the NFL. In the AFC, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs inexplicably lost on the road against the Indianapolis Colts, while Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills ran out of gas in their road loss to the Miami Dolphins. Neither fan base should be all that concerned about their respective teams, but the facts remain that the Chiefs special teams are still a disaster and the Bills can’t seem to win close games. Both teams will need to get those bugaboos under control. Speaking of the AFC, remember when we all thought the AFC West was supposed to be a Murderer’s Row? Not so fast, my friend. The Las Vegas Raiders are the only winless team in football (and head coach Josh McDaniels is already getting called into the principal’s office), Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers are the walking wounded, and Russell Wilson’s Denver Broncos might be one of the worst 2-1 teams we’ve ever seen. Moving over the NFC, J-Mac is already declaring the Philadelphia Eagles as the best team in the conference; have you seen what Jalen Hurts and that offense are doing to defenses these days? Just dominant. However, Rob G argues that Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be the last team standing in the NFC when it’s all said and done – and that’s with the Bucs only scoring 3 offensive touchdowns so far this season! Time will tell which man gets proven right. Finally, Jason closes the show with a very special Monday Night Football edition of the Best Bet. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre – Recap of Steelers/Browns on Thursday Night Football + Bet Online's Dave Mason + Best Bets for NFL Week 3 AND 1 NCAA Football Best Bet!
Jason begins with his recap of the boring and ugly Thursday Night Football game between the Steelers and the Browns. Weather was supposed to be a factor in the game, but with the crowd not having any energy, and game script feeling dull, the matchup just felt flat. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre – Palm Beach Post’s Joe Schad + NFL Week 3 Best Bet for Thursday Night Football's Steelers & Browns Game
On today’s episode, Jason begins with a quick mention of Thursday Night Football between the Steelers and Browns in a rivalry matchup. Minor news out from Chicago Bulls camp is that PG Lonzo Ball is having another procedure done on his left knee. This being the 3rd instance he’s having his knee cleaned up with many seeing Ball as a bust as a 2nd overall pick. Chicago has already paid Ball, but his continued absence leaves Zach LaVine and the Bulls stuck in a bad position. Palm Beach Post’s Joe Schad swings by and discusses the 2-0 Dolphins and previews their upcoming game against the seemingly immaculate Buffalo Bills. The Dolphins are now a fun team to cover and watch with Tua Tagovailoa and HC Mike McDaniel off to a fast start. Schad explains that McDaniel is a huge part of why Tua and the organization is doing well, and has really pumped up the surging QB. Schad suggests that McDaniel is able to connect so well with the team, the complete opposite of the Dolphins’ regime that preceded him. Jason and Joe preview the Dolphins’ matchup against the Bills and how Miami’s offense matches up against Buffalo’s stout defense. Schad thinks Tua and company have a decent shot, especially with some of the injuries on Buffalo’s end. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre-Latest NFL Teams Stocks, Lakers Puzzling Point Guard Situation & Much More!
On today's episode, Jason breaks down the difference between betting in the NBA compared to the NFL. He believes the Bills & Chiefs are the Tesla stock of the NFL through Week 2 of the 2022 season. He takes listeners through values of teams & his reasoning behind his theory. Jason was shocked to see that Tua Tagovailoa is now 20/1 MVP odds better than Tom Brady & Aaron Rodgers odds (both 25/1 odds). When breaking down the AFC North, he is still confident the Bengals will win the division after starting 0-2. Jason continues to remind his listeners to never doubt Aaron Rodgers as they are still 4th in the odds to win the Super Bowl this season. Concluding, Jason raises serious concern for LeBron James & the Los Angeles Lakers for this upcoming NBA season. The Laker will be relying on Russell Westbrook, Patrick Beverly and Dennis Schroder as of today… Jason is not convinced that this point guard depth will fit with LeBron, which will make it hard for the Lakers to go the distance. Jason looks at how the Dolphins are attempting to follow in the footsteps of the Bills with their handling of Tua Tagovailoa. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Patrick Mahomes is Missing Tyreek Hill, the Chiefs Won But the Chargers are Better + Covers.com Senior Contest Strategist Adam Chernoff
On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a deep dive into the Kansas City Chiefs' primetime victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. Patrick Mahomes didn't look like the best quarterback in the league for most of the night, but he did do just enough to get the win; Mahomes was clearly missing Tyreek Hill. The big picture point, however, is that the Los Angeles Chargers looked like the better team. Justin Herbert is a stud, the defense with Joey Bosa and Derwin James is loaded, and the offensive skill positions are electric. Had the Chargers not suffered injuries to their offensive line - and a pair of Mahomes interceptions weren't overturned - Los Angeles likely rolls in this game. Later, Covers.com Senior Contest Strategist Adam Chernoff swings by to discuss the pitfalls of allowing marquee media personalities (who aren’t pro bettors) tout picks, why he might be willing to lay the 10-points for San Francisco when they take on the Seattle Seahawks, why he’s more likely to bet the total than a side when the Denver Broncos take on the Houston Texans, why he’s expecting a big bounce back game for the Carolina Panthers against the New York Giants, which side makes the most sense in what should be an ugly game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New England Patriots, and much more! Finally, J-Mac closes the show with his Best Best for Week 2 in the NFL. Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - LeBron and CP3 Sound Off on Sarver, Thursday Night Football Best Bets + Kansas City Chiefs radio sideline reporter Josh Klingler
On today’s episode, Jason kicks things off with a deep dive into the latest surrounding the Robert Sarver scandal. With LeBron James and Chris Paul publicly condemning the NBA’s response to his repeated workplace violations, the League may have no choice but to increase their punishment. Later, Kansas City Chiefs radio network sideline reporter Josh Klingler swings by to preview Thursday Night’s showdown between the Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers, why he feels as though teams ‘figured out’ the Kansas City offense last season and how the loss of Tyreek Hill actually helped them evolve, how the revamped offensive line matches up with the Chargers’ pass rush led by Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack, how much attention Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs pay attention to the hype surrounding Justin Herbert and the Chargers, how the Las Vegas Raiders and the Denver Broncos factored into the AFC West divisional chase, and much more! Finally, Jason closes the show with a very special Thursday Night Football edition of the Best Bet. Aaron Judge Closing in On 61, Brett Favre is in Big Trouble + DraftKings host Mike Golic Jr.
On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a quick note on Aaron Judge hitting his 56th and 57th home run of the season. Judge is rapidly closing in on Rogers Maris' famed 61-homer mark, and is now the heavy favorite to win the American League MVP award over Shohei Ohtani. Later, J-Mac goes in on Brett Favre in the wake of the bombshell report that the former Green Bay Packers quarterback and a Mississippi politician were redirecting money from welfare recipients to Favre's alma mater. It's an ugly story, but unfortunately given Favre's history, isn't all that surprising. Finally, DraftKings podcast host and NFL/College Football analyst Mike Golic Jr. swings by to discuss why it’s time to recalibrate expectations for Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame after the Fighting Irish fell to 0-2 on the season, the narrative that former Irish head coach Brian Kelly isn’t a culture fit at LSU, whether or not we can expect Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers offense to rebound after that week 1 clunker, why it’s important to give the revamped Cincinnati Bengals offensive line time to gel, and preview a handful of upcoming NFL Week 2 games including Chiefs vs Chargers, Ravens vs Dolphins, Broncos vs Texans, Bills vs Titans, and much more!
