For the third topic, we discuss the training camp fights that have been taking place and whether we like or dislike those. July 30, 2024 - Season 15, Episode 4 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday episode, which was recorded Tuesday night, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the ankle injury that Pittsburgh Steelers rookie WR Roman Wilson sustained during the team's Tuesday training camp practice. We discuss the latest updates concerning how much time Wilkson might miss and what that means for him. The Steelers wide receiver room obviously took a hit with Wilson going down temporarily. We discuss the depth chart thoroughly during this show and go over our concerns the team should have at the position. We talk about if the Steelers can survive in 2024 with their current wide receiver group and speculate more if the team will ultimately add to that position prior to the start of the season. The Steelers made a few transactions on Tuesday, so Alex and I make sure to cover those. July 29, 2024 - Season 15, Episode 3 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the start of the Pittsburgh Steelers 2024 training camp through the team's first four unpadded practices. We go over the health of the team heading into their first camp off day, what is expected for QB Russell Wilson (calf) this coming week and more. The national NFL media are making sure to put out a similar collective narrative concerning the Steelers' starting quarterback job through the first four days of training camp, so Alex and I review that topic. Alex gives his thoughts on if there really is a legitimate reason to think that QB Justin Fields will earn the starting job over Wilson just four practices into training camp. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin finally held his first training camp press conference of 2024 late Wednesday evening and Alex and I go over all of the key talking points to come out of it. Even though his press conference was shy of 15 minutes in length, we were able to spend almost 30 minutes discussing everything that he talked about. Steelers RB Najee Harris talked to the media on Wednesday after arriving at training camp and as expected, he talked about his fifth-year option not being picked up earlier in the offseason. We discuss all that Harris had to say on Wednesday and discuss his situation moving forward into the 2024 regular season. New Steelers QB Russell Wilson held his first training camp practice media session of 2024, and he gave us a few things to discuss in this show as well. Several other Steelers players met the media on Wednesday as well, so Alex and I pick through the relevant talking points to come out of those sessions. July 16, 2024 - Season 14, Episode 154 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Tuesday episode, site contributors Joe Clark and Ross McCorkle join me with Alex Kozora having the day off. I start the show by reintroducing Joe and Ross to the show, so listeners can learn more about them and their new podcast, “The Depot Dive.” After some fun at the top of the show, the three of us discuss the Monday news concerning the Pittsburgh Steelers hosting the Buffalo Bills for a joint training camp practice at Acrisure Stadium in the middle of August and just a few days before the two teams play each other in a preseason game. A new study on the NFL's new kickoff rule that is based on the XFL's usage of it hit the internet on Monday, so the three of us discuss the stats and findings to come out of that post. We move on to talk about the main concerns that Joe and Ross have about the 2024 Steelers on both sides of the football ahead of training camp getting underway in a few more weeks. Also in this show, I ask Joe and Ross to both name a dark horse roster player for the Steelers on both sides of the football. Essentially, one player on offense and defense that many probably don't have making the 53-man roster that just might after the dusts finally settles. Several over/under lines for individual Steelers are now out for the 2024 season so I get Joe and Ross to analyze each and make their predictions. A lot of overs are picked here. We also go over who the Steelers' second leading "wide receiver" might be in 2024 based on early thoughts ahead of training camp getting underway.
