in the new canon Star Wars novel, Brotherhood, by Mike Chen, there's a scene where Anakin talks to Obi-Wan about Qui-Gon Jinn just after the events of Attack of the Clones and i'm really happy this was written into the book. I think there needs to be more Qui-Gon mentions. He was such an important figure in Anakin's life and I want to learn more about what Anakin Skywalker thinks of Qui-Gon. I think this time around, we can unite as a fandom and regardless how the show turns out, we leave the actors out of it and judge the show purely on how it was written. Hayden and Ewan got enough hate for the prequels, and I'd like to see them get a ton of love this time around. That goes for the newcomers in Star Wars as well. Rupert Friend who plays the Grand Inquisitor, talks about playing the character in Obi-Wan Kenobi and reveals he deliberately didn't watch Rebels in order to portray the character in a fresh new way. I disagree with this but hey what do I know, I'm not an actor. With Dave Filoni and Deb Chow involved, I'm sure it'll be fine, but I feel it would be even better if all actors caught up on Rebels and the prequels. Ewan and Hayden Christensen rewatched the prequels and the Clone Wars (Hayden) to prepare for the role they originally portrayed, so I don't think newcomers should take liberties like this...but hey...I'm sure it'll be fine, I'm just a nit picker. Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen speak about the prequel trilogy and Star Wars fans showing them love which has changed their relationship with Star Wars. I really am happy that they are finally getting the appreciation from us, the fans, that they always deserved. I think this is really great. Deborah Chow (director of Kenobi show) explains her respect to George Lucas' story that came before Disney purchased Star Wars and Lucasfilm. That while working on this show, she was mindful of the characters and their legacy that George created. I feel this is the best approach to take when playing in George's sandbox. Kathleen Kennedy says Solo wasn't successful because it didn't have Harrison Ford's deepfake. I think this is incorrect. I believe Solo failed not because of the lack of deepfake or any other reason (I liked the film) other than the fact that The Last Jedi came out several months prior and created a big rift in the Star Wars fandom with the treatment of Luke Skywalker by Rian Johnson and Lucasfilm at Kathleen Kennedy's approval (I assume). in the new canon star wars novel BROTHERHOOD by Mike Chen, there's a moment where Anakin Skywalker is called "General" by a nearby Clone Trooper. Anakin thinks to himself how odd it is to be called by this title, and how he didn't become a Jedi to become a war general. I really like how they added this little detail in there. I think it adds to Anakin's overall views of how the Jedi were leaning into the politics and war of the Republic, and how he didn't want to be there. Learn more about your ad choices. In the Kenobi show starring Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, we will see Obi-Wan hermit in hit hut on Tatooine...however his hut will eventually be blown up by Vader, which begs the question, will this roll into the show? How does this play out for Obi-Wan and Luke in Ben's hut on Tatooine in A New Hope? Do they retcon this new comic book detail? It's new canon anyway so it's not like it really plays heavy in the George Lucas canon for A New Hope, which makes things a bit confusing. I don't like Sand - meme has taken a very deep moment and scene for Anakin and turned it around into something laughable. Sure, I think it's funny too, however I won't let that distract me from the big picture here which is that Anakin is explaining something deeper than just a corny line about sand. He's talking about his life on Tattooine compared to where he is at this moment with Padme (Attack of the Clones). Hopefully new Star Wars fans can be brought in by these memes and when they see the films, they can really understand what Anakin is going through. I hope these videos get you ready for Kenobi. I can't wait to see Hayden Christensen return as Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader and Ewan McGregor come back as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Hopefully these videos will explore more of Anakin's character arc in a thought provoking manner. Let me know what you think about Anakin's life in the comments.
