In revenge of the sith, Anakin was put before the council on behalf of Palpatine to be his personal representative on the council. Upon hearing this, Master Windu denied Anakin the rank of Master. Something the poster boy for the clone wars had wanted and expected for a long time. He had an apprentice of his own who referred to him as master, and so did others below him in rank. Not to mention, the rank of master would grant anakin the access he needed to the restricted section of the jedi archives. Full with jedi and sith knowledge that might lead him to his path of saving padme from death. Enraged, but knowing his place, Anakin took a seat eventually after voicing his anger. In today’s fan fiction let’s look at what would have happened had anakin not taken a seat. In the novel revenge of the sith by Matthew Stover, Anakin actually was taunting Windu in his mind. He said this and I quote Anakin matched his stare. Perhaps I’ll take yours. His own voice, inside his head, had a hot black fire that smoked from the depths of his furnace heart. You think you can stop me from saving my love? You think you can make me watch her die? Go ahead and Vaapad this, you— So in the official novel signed off by George Lucas written by Matthew Stover, anakin was already in the mindset to fight Mace Windu after being denied the rank of master. So what if he actually went through with it. What if that furnace of a heart burned with rage and he didn’t heed to obi-wan’s call. There’s two scenarios here. Anakin can either refuse to take a seat, and converse with Windu and the council. Both of which can take us different routes, but the avenue I want to write about today is Anakin opening up. So let’s take the initial hot headed approach, and see where it takes us in this version. Anakin grabs his lightsaber from his belt and walks towards Mace Windu as he ignites it and says “I’ll take yours instead” Master Yoda immediately stops Anakin with the force, which proves to be very difficult for him as Anakin starts to break through by the second, his powers and anger rising, as the rest of the Jedi Masters get up from their seats, especially obi-wan kenobi to intervene. Mace Windu is the only one still sitting. “Everyone take your seats. Master, release Skywalker. Should the boy have something to say, I’m right here.” Anakin was released. Only some of the masters sat back down, while Kenobi and a few others like Plo and Kit stood motionless at this outrage. Anakin stood there, lightsaber ignited. Eyes beaming with a ice blue colder than space itself. “Skywalker. For years I’ve doubted you. I never trusted you. And now, you just proved it to everyone else. Your emotions are too rampant. Yes, you are gifted, but so am I, yet I control my emotions which let me tell you boy run hotter than yours. But I will not be a spectacle of them. I will not bend to them. I will master them. Such as now. And you are lucky that I have.” Anakin sheathed his weapon. He came to his sense, if rage were visible Anakin would be unseen to the eye, covered in it. “You’ve patronized me since I came here. You’ve held back every decision I ever wanted to make. My mother died because of this council’s ridiculous rules. And now she-” Anakin stopped himself. He almost gave up the biggest secret of his life. In this fan-fiction, we take a look at what would have happened if Anakin didn't take a seat, but instead, tried to fight Mace. It's a bit insane, but that's what I'm here for. Palpatine first met Anakin in revenge of the Sith. He was the chosen one for the Jedi and now, for palpatine. Palps coerced anakin patiently into the dark side since he first met him. Strategically planting seeds into his mind until the time came to do what must be done and execute order 66. Anakin was Palpatine’s protoge, he was everything to him. He was to be more powerful than Sidious, and to rule the galaxy with his powerful apprentice. However, when Anakin fell to Obi-Wan, or rather, to his own arrogance in thinking he could defeat his former master atop a less favourable position, against the high ground, Sidious was devastated. In the film, Revenge of the Sith, we see Vader being put together in Palpatine’s medical facility on Coruscant. The best medical droids at her service, applying an out of date suit so Vader would live with the pain of his failure, mentally and physically, forever. But did you ever wonder, what was Sidous thinking while Vader was being put together? His prize new apprentice, the one he had tried to turn to the dark side, had now just become a fraction of the man he almost became. How did Sidious take it? How did he feel about it? What did he think of Vader now? The following excerpt comes not from Matthew Stover’s Revenge of the Sith novelization of the film, but rather Patricia c Wrede’s junior novelization of revenge of the sith, and it’s quite interesting what Palpatine’s thoughts were. In revenge of the Sith we all witnessed the most monumental turn of the galaxy when Order 66 was given and Anakin stormed the temple with the 501st legion. My only gripe with my favourite Star Wars movie, Revenge of the Sith, is that we never got to see Anakin Skywalker full throttle in the Jedi Temple just destroying Jedi Masters, knights, and padawans alike. The closest we got to this was the hologram Kenobi saw infront of Yoda when he went into the security archives. Over the years I’ve written many fan fictions about Order 66, but one I’ve never done was what if Ahsoka was at the Jedi Temple during Order 66. Of course this would change many precursors like Ahsoka never leaving the Jedi, and her being on Coruscant during Order66 instead of on Mandalore…I believe if she were a Jedi still, and never left, perhaps the Jedi would have had her at the temple at this time…We could also say would Anakin have confided in her first, or Mace Windu? Let’s assume things went the way it did, and she was at the temple…would this have changed anything? Would Anakin have stopped? Let’s begin. Learn more about your ad choices. Let me start this by saying whether you like or dislike the sequels, this isn’t an episode to doodoo on you, this is merely an episode that outlines my thoughts on Luke Skywalker and why it ruined the sequels for me, especially The Last Jedi. With all of the back and forth that the subject of the sequels provides, it is such a touchy and sensitive topic to discuss without offending someone. In this episode I’d like to outline my points of WHY I disliked it, and I’m not saying you have to agree with me, but maybe you’ll be able to at least see my point of view, just like I see yours as to why you loved it. The thing about Luke that I really found inspiring as a little kid, was how stuck to his convictions he was. The entire galaxy knew Vader was a bastard. They knew he was a murderer, a tyrant, a planet killer, a monster to say the least. Despite knowing all this from just the films itself, let alone legends where Luke learned so much more about the evil that truly was Darth Vader, he was still the only person in the entire galaxy to see the good in his father, despite everything and everyone thinking otherwise. Mark Hamill said it best, that Luke Skywalker would only go into exile for maybe a few months and then come back out of his depression to really kick butt, and he’d never leave his sister behind like that. I understand many of the arguments behind it all, I’m quite educated on the side which is in favour of the Luke that we got, saying things like how people change over time and how it made him more realistic. How it was inspiring to some men and women who were in a rut and not the hero they used to be. I get that. That’s literally just a Rocky story done in Star Wars. Guy isn’t good enough, whether because he needs to train hard physically, mentally, or become the person they used to be after a traumatic event. Realistic to what, realistic to a common fallacy where to become old is to become bitter. The issue I had with The Last Jedi is that it isn’t all those things that truly do make for an inspiring story, the problem was the underlying issue. What caused Luke to become bitter and depressed. What caused him to say the Jedi must end? To throw his dad’s lightsaber over a cliff and spend over 2 hours being a depressed old hermit only to redeem himself by literally dying. All of this was because he tried to kill his little nephew, his Padawan, in his sleep. So, whether you love or hate the sequels, I hope you can at least come to respect my point of view, as someone born in the 90’s who grew up with not just the prequels, but the originals first. Luke Skywalker got me through a lot in life, his mere energy and positivity kept me going in many scenarios where I felt my own persona couldn’t take me. An anchor with values I trained my brain to emulate, to understand, to become. I hope you can respect my views, just as I respect yours. Learn more about your ad choices. Mace Windu was the toughest Jedi Master some might argue in the Star Wars galaxy. However at one point, he was just a little baby Jedi Padawan, and even before becoming a Padawan, he was a little baby, in the possession of the Jedi Order, and primarily, Master Yoda, the Grandmaster of the Jedi Temple on Corsuscant. Baby Mace would be dealt a difficult hand by Yoda when all he wanted to do was just play with his toy and be a baby, Yoda would have none of it! Thus, teaching him the art of possession and attachments from a young age. I feel if Anakin had this training as a toddler, he would have been very different. The mistake the Jedi made was to have Anakin enter the temple at such an older age of 9, and then on top of that, to force him out of the attachments he already had made. This caused so much pain for Skywalker and it's something Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Mace Windu could see as Jedi Masters. The force clouded their judgements, and when Sidious decided it was time to strike, they never saw it coming, leading to Order 66 and the downfall of the Jedi until Luke Skywalker showed up eventually to save Anakin within Vader.
