Darth Krayt is a villain that I would have loved to have seen replace Snoke in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. I think he would have made for a much more interesting character, and perhaps could have been working under Palpatine's resurrected soul if they wanted to go with that story still. Darth Krayt AKA A'sharad Hett, knew Anakin Skywalker and fought in The Clone Wars. The Making of Star Wars Return of the Jedi reveals a ton of stuff about the movie and original script. In today's episode, let's go over the fake script that was put out there when the film wasn't released yet. George Lucas instated this fake script to avoid spoilers in the audience, which of course, was way easier to avoid back then, than today. In this fake script, we get Luke Skywalker defeating Palpatine, throwing the Emperor over the railing as Vader did. We also see a different Vader when Luke unmasks him. A much more non-human Anakin Skywalker. This fake script is the most official fan-fiction we could get for the ending of Return of the Jedi. If Luke killed the Emperor, it wouldn't have closed the circle for Anakin's fulfillment of the prophecy. Anakin HAD to kill the Emperor. Before Clone Wars became cancelled and ended with season 6, George Lucas and Dave Filoni were thinking of adding an arc that explained the entire story of the Sith Temple underneath the Jedi Temple. I think this would have been interesting to learn more about, and would help us to understand why the dark side clouded so much of everything, as Yoda said, and how Palpatine hid his true self right under the noses of the Jedi Temple. In Star Wars Episode 7 The Force Awakens, Rey touched Luke Skywalker's lightsaber and immediately had visions of past events. Events where we heard Vader's breathing, Cloud City from Empire Strikes Back, Kylo Ren, Luke and R2, and even heard Yoda and Obi-Wan speak to her (wish we heard Anakin). How did Rey see these things? It's this moment that he is passed on to the other side of the force to become a force ghost, which we see later on. In Star Wars The Last Jedi we got a very cool scene at the end of the film...Luke Skywalker goes to Crait to FIGHT Kylo Ren in an all out lightsaber duel...however..we learn that he wasn't really there...rather he was on Ahch-To, meditating, casting a doppelganger/projection of himself to the planet. One of the concept ideas for this scene was to have Luke Skywalker REALLY there and fight Kylo in this big rage-filled epic duel. The idea was scrapped later on because Rian felt it was confusing since Luke's X-Wing was somewhat under water and possibly destroyed (however he could have written that it was fixed or ok) and that's what led him to the ending we got, where hopefully Luke comes back as a powerful force ghost...maybe with Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Yoda to fight Snoke (who could return as a force ghost himself).
