During Clone Wars Season 7 with Ahsoka fighting Maul, we all wondered what would have happened had Anakin Skywalker actually gone to Mandalore to fight the Sith. Maul's whole plan was to kill Anakin, so that Sidious plan would be foiled. This of course didn't happen, as Anakin went with Obi-Wan Kenobi to save Palpatine from Dooku and Grievous. Anakin fought Dooku and it was a really cool scene, even cooler in the books with force powers being used, heavily. Anakin would have fought Maul and two different outcomes could have happened. We could have had Maul win, or Anakin win. Both would yield two very different outcomes. In today's fan-fiction on Star Wars Theory, we're going to take it through scenario 1 where Darth Maul actually ends up beating Anakin on Mandalore in the throne room. How will this affect Order 66? Who will join Obi-Wan to fight Dooku over Coruscant like we saw in Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith? Who will take down Dooku? What will happen to the identity of the Chancellor then? In The Clone Wars Season 7, many have exclaimed that Anakin Skywalker isn't in it very much at all. I think this is because during all the events with Ahsoka, Revenge of the Sith is actually taking place. So we know where Anakin is and what he's doing, so to cover what he's doing would be redundant and somewhat of a waste of time. For example, when Ahsoka is with the Pykes, Anakin is fighting Dooku, when Ahsoka is on Mandalore with Maul and the Mandalorians, Palpatine is revealing to Anakin that he's the Sith lord, then leading into Order 66 with Vader. In the Darth Plagueis novel by James Luceno, we get an awesome bit of dialogue where Darth Plagueis himself actually reveals how he feels about essence transfer. This one is a little more analytical than just action packed like some other fan-fics...a nice way to ease back into them I feel. What if Anakin just prodded his lightsaber deep into Palpatine's spine as he turned his back on him? We have to understand Anakin's mind set here, he was extremely unstable and I believe if the film was more 'realistic' then Anakin would do this in a fit of rage. At the very end of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith, Master Yoda is visited by Qui-Gon Jinn during his meditation in a deleted scene that never made the final film. The scene was written in the script (can be found online) and in the novelization. The scene was later digitally inserted in the clone wars however it doesn't have the same feeling and confuses the timeline. The 501st are the clone troopers loyal to Anakin Skywalker. They fought with him during the clone wars, and marched the temple with him during Order 66. Now as for who the Jedi were, I don’t know but I do know who they aren’t. They’re not cin drallig, as Anakin was fighting him in the hologram obi wan sees back at the Jedi temple, and Anakin also terminated Cin Drallig in the Revenge of the Sith video game and the novelization, so I doubt this would be how Drallig dies. The other two are just Jedi knights I think who are probably stationed there to protect grogu, maybe by orders of master Yoda, or someone else. As for who took Grogu, I’m not sure, but ‘ll make some theory videos on who I think it might be. Also I zoomed in on his lightsaber, and it’s not Cin Drallig’s. Pretty insane how the 501st shoot at the already lifeless body of the Jedi. Now what’s interesting is what’s on the walls. This symbol as has been shared online a lot now, is Barris Offee’s symbol that can be seen here when Anakin is confronting her in her chambers in the Clone Wars. Barriss betrayed Ahsoka and framed her, and in the end the truth was revealed that Barriss was the one behind it all and Ahsoka was innocent. This is what caused Ahsoka to leave the Jedi Order, however, Barriss, went into prison and that’s the last we saw of her. Now in legends, because the Jedi were short staffed, she was sent to Felucia and died during Order 66, however in canon, there’s no answer as to what happened to her. My guess is that she escaped prison somehow much like Maul did during Order 66, either by herself or someone’s help, and she stole Grogu. The only reason I’d suspect her of stealing Grogu, is because of these symbols on the walls. Now, she could have escaped with him and used him as collateral if she were to get caught, knowing how valuable he was to Master Yoda most likely. Or, at this point, someone in the dark side hired her to retrieve Grogu during a distraction at the temple, and if she accepted, they’d free her. The only person with power like that, is Palpatine who controlled the senate and the courts, so he could have easily had someone deliver the message to her, and should she accept, would give her the necessities to escape when the time was right. She’d run to the temple, sneak in during Order 66, and retrieve Grogu, bringing him to the empire. Now, why wouldn’t Palpatine have Anakin do this? Well, Anakin had one thing in mind. Destruction. He cared only for Padme, and to save Padme, he would need to unlock the darkness of his heart and show no mercy. So I wonder if Barriss did take Grogu. Perhaps she took him to her quarters in the temple and was apprehended there. There’s so much we need to learn and I don’t think we will until the Kenobi show where flashbacks of Order 66 will really be in full swing, and this time, with Anakin.
