BOLD Pittsburgh Sports: Episode 3
This week, the guys are talking about the status of their fantasy line-ups before heading into the nitty gritty sports talk. At the top of the show they're covering the Pirates - while they still can. With nine games left and declining attendance, the Pirates organization is turning to promotions for a final push to get fans out. Between seven straight losses and Cerveli out for the season due to injury, it's going to be hard. Add to that the Penguins' first pre-season game and fast-approaching home opener on October 4th, Pittsburgh sports fans are already prepping for winter sports action. We can't forget about football either. For the college football fans, Steve and Matt take a look at Pitt, PSU, WVU, and Notre Dame before heading into this week's Steelers talk. The guys take the show home this week with some BOLD predictions about NFL - Week 3. After the show remember to: Follow the discussion on Twitter (@Boldpgh) You can support the show on Patreon! If you're looking for something to do a little further down the road, John Waters Christmas: Holier and Dirtier is coming to the Carnegie Library Lecture Hall in December, and Bob Dylan will be at Heinz Hall in early November. Indy Mayhem Show 178: Jaxon Argos Sets the Record Straight - Draft
EWe don't normally preempt already scheduled interviews. However, when someone shows up at the studio demanding air time and causing a public disturbance, it was either let him on air or call the police. Suffice it to say we didn't want to deal with the paperwork associated with arresting him. So, Jaxon Argos made a rather abrupt appearance for this week's Indy Mayhem episode. You know what, we're going to let Jaxon's list speak for itself. Agenda of Argos For those who either don't want to pull up the image or can't read Argos' writing, the "Agenda of Argos" includes: Topics of Discussion: "Unbreakable" - Oct 14th Wheeling, WV - Oct 27th "Winner Takes All" - Dec 9th Tim Hortons Godzilla Netflix People: Locked & Loaded Maxwell Jacob Friedman Josh Briggs Mike Orlando Myron Reed Gory Jimmy Vegas Matt Conard Andrew Palace crossed out with notation on parentheses "not worth it" Bulk Nasty The Mega Downers Jimmy Shane Justin Plummer Chris LeRusso To Do: Laundry checked Fill gas tank Practice springboard Clean gear checked Daily Reminder: You are beautiful, strong, and handsome. Wrestling Mayhem Show 588: World’s Strongest Soccer Mom
The Locked 'n Loaded best-dressed guest ante has been accepted and upped. This week, we've got IWC rookie Calvin Couture in studio, and he brought his A-game, replete with his bow tie and sequinned jacket. He outshines, almost literally, our crew of Sorg, Chad the Shad, Mutilator Larry, and Bobby F J-Town as we talk this week in wrestling: There's a WWE pay-per-view this weekend! (And, we're going to play some video games.) So John Cena and Roman Reigns? What was with Roman Reigns pulling out Rock v John Cena promos? Chad is sharing some thoughts about how good WWE teams are these days. When's the last time we saw a rivalry for something other than a belt? Are we setting up a Wyatt Family v Club feud? Putting it here so it's in writing: Someone just threw out Goldust as Finn Balor's dad. Are we going to see an Emma win? Apparently WWE broke Jordan and Gable up too soon. Why?!?! We need some Surf Dudes With Attitudes in WWE. Starcade is happening? Is there a chance we'll see Cody Rhodes and Dustin Rhodes team up for Starcade? Speaking of Starcade, WrestleCade is also in North Carolina the same weekend? NXT should takeover the old WCW and ECW pay-per-view titles. Crack beers like Stone Cold in Point State Park is an actual event here in Pittsburgh! Sorg is stuck on TNA like a fly on a bug zapper. He just can't turn away. This week's Big Question: Who would make a good 2017 addition to the Heenan family? What did YOU learn in wrestling this week? Follow our stable on Twitter: Calvin Couture (@calvin_couture), Sorg (@Sorgatron), Chad the Shad (@ChadTheShad), Larry (@MutilatorLarry) and Bobby F J-Town (@BobbyFJtown)! BOLD Pittsburgh Sports: Episode 2
ESteve and Matt are back for a second episode talking about two of the things Pittsburghers love - Pittsburgh and sports. This week, Steve and Matt are talking the usual gamut of Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers. They do a recap of last week's predictions and how they each fared. Then it's on to some fantasy football recap. Apparently there is such a thing as poor coaching in fantasy football these days. From there it's on to some MLB news, including an early start to next year's season, and the Espy Awards and the All-Star Game. The guys may be blaming the Pirates' 6 losses since last week on Polanco's jenky leg. It's either that or traded Nicasio's "hold my beer" moment when he faced the Pirates as a St. Louis player. Speaking of trades, the guys wrap up their baseball segment with some McCutcheon trade options and expendable players. From there Matt and Steve talk some Pitt v Penn State game before heading into news about the Penguins. With training camp starting this week, Pittsburgh is favored to win the Stanley Cup again this year - which lands the guys into a fantasy discussion about what they would do if they had a day with the Stanley Cup. Oh, we haven't talked about football yet! The Steelers v Browns game was more worrisome than it should have been. Let's talk about Le'Veon Bell and stupid penalties. But, kudos to TJ Watt for making Defensive Rookie of the Week. Big Ben wins an interesting record this week too, as the winningest QB in Cleveland! But, we can't dismiss Tom Brady. No matter how much you may hate New England, Tom Brady is a damn good QB. The guys take the show home this week with some BOLD predictions about NFL - Week 2. Wrestling Mayhem Show 587: Yachts, Yachts, Yachts, Yachts, Yachts
We’ve got Jinx on this week as we watch the final match of the Mae Young Classic. She joins Billy, Chad, Rob, Mad Mike, and Sorg as they talk about the Mae Young Classic and some of the other crazy stuff that happened this week in wrestling: We have Jinx talking some Mae Young Classic with us. Seemed better than having dudes talk ladies. We’ve got some thumbs-up for the Mae Young Classic as Jinx shares her thoughts as a wrestler. We had some concerns about the Mae Young Classic contestants, but it turned out really well. We’re digging the WWE partnerships giving us access to some great talent like WWE UK with Progress and ICW. Has NXT outgrown its purpose as WWE developmental to the point we need new developmental options? Day one is h? The Bankruptcy Court of Owls announced a streaming service for $7.99? So, TNA accidentlally released their entire library for free? Apparently Jinx looks for “TNA” on the deep dark web. Is she talking TNA or T-N-A? TNAnonymous “Where on Shawn Michaels” did they steal your smile?” Sometimes you need a good stopping point. Pro Wrestling is basically human trafficking. Pro Wrestling is like Pokemon – You gotta catch ‘em all. This week’s Big Question: What is your favorite McMahon segment? What did YOU learn in wrestling this week? Follow our stable on Twitter: Billy (@billyj64), Jinx (@bloodyxadorable), Sorg (@Sorgatron), Chad the Shad (@ChadTheShad), Mad Mike (@MadMike4883), and Rob Brown (@RobBrownPA78)! AwesomeCast 364: The Lowercase "i"s
This week we’ve got Susan and Vance of Ohio Linuxfest in studio to share some news about their event at the end of the month. We’ve also got our usual cast of characters with Sorg, Katie, and Chilla as we talk about the obvious things – Apple updates! Susan and Vance are sharing this year’s Ohio Linuxfest as their Awesome Thing of the Week. Katie is talking about what happens when you don’t realize other people can see what you like on social media. Speaking of some things you may not realize people are seeing, check out Web Thinger for some ProTips. Chilla is trying to share ALL OF THE Apple Event as his Awesome Thing of the Week. Apple’s iPhone updates aren’t THAT much different – but, they’re totally different. Now that Apple is bringing us facial recognition – how is that going to affect Snapchat? Katie has hit her ” Get Off My Lawn” issue with iPhone. Sorg hangs onto everything – like this first gen iPhone he just pulled out. Katie is weighing the need to update her phone now with her desire to wait out the new iPhone. We’ve got some thoughts about the Note 8 in comparison to the new iPhone from our in-studio guest. Who’s looking to get an Apple Watch after today’s Apple Event? Sorg is keen on the Apple Watch health integration from today’s Apple Event. We’re taking a little detour through some Apple Watch discussion following today’s Apple Event. Apple TV will be 4K thanks to the Apple Event updates. We’re commissioning a movie night in the future with Chilla in his home of the future. Apple Stores are not, in fact stores, but town squares. We’re excited about the larger Apple charging mat. We’re not so excited about the need for some other things. We just found out Chilla’s Batman utility belt contains an Apple TV. Ever play hide-and-seek in a haunted house? Katie has! And she Facebook LIVE broadcasted it. After the show remember to: Eat at Slice on Broadway (@Pgh_Slice) if you are in the Pittsburgh area! It is Awesome! Wrestling Mayhem Show 586: My Wife's the Best Heel Ever
This week we've got a drastic night-and-day difference from last week, but it's a great show with Shirley Doe joining us in studio. Between the amazing stories and his great personality, we could go on talking about wrestling all night. Thanks to Producer Missy for keeping the mayhem under control as much as she can this week as she's wrangling Sorg, Rob, Mad Mike, Chad the Shad, and Larry as they talk about all the things in wrestling this week, including:WMS We've been doing this for 586 nights? Wow. If you haven't seen the Mae Young Classic, shame on you! Your penance is to not listen to the show (yet). Larry is sharing how his thoughts on the Mae Young Classic changed from Round 1 to Round 2. We have some shared thoughts on the Mae Young Classic Round 1 matches. Shirley Doe wrestled Lita? The things we learn on this show! If you're curious about where we are in the wrestling timeline, two words: Essa. Rios. We found Rizz a new best friend!!! You know you have the right crew of people when your conversation goes from video games to wrestling fluidly. Shirley Doe is matchmaking this week. Is Bianca Belair's hair a foreign object? Is WWE going to develop a Total Divas for the NXT roster? (We would totally watch it if they did.) We're talking some thoughts on who we want to see win the Mae Young Classic. We're talking some Four Horsewomen options. The Ring of Honor championship "belt" is now a ring? (Or Nick Lendl got engaged to Cody Rhodes this week.) Rings? Do we get Captain Planet or Green Lantern with this move in Ring of Honor? We're talking the various Royal Rumble betting options that are out there. Looks like Larry has commented about a stupid hat. It's only fitting he wear the Mayhem Dunce Cap. This week's Big Question: With the recent Sexy Star incident, how are they going to kill her off Lucha Underground? We're sharing some thoughts about things like Shane McMahon being in the ring. Should he even be there? There's no more Carmsworth? What did YOU learn in wrestling this week? There should be no drive-thru where the champ eats. AwesomeCast 363: I Think I'm a Twizzler?
This week we’ve got James Deighan of Megacat Studios in studio, and he brings a friend from Sorg’s other world (the Wrestling Mayhem Show) with him. It’s a great chat with them and our usual suspects, Sorg and Chilla, as they talk about: Otherwise, James develops games, when not stuck behind a microphone in studio. Chilla has paper. We are super confused. With Chilla talking about Hershey Park, we may have lost Producer Missy to a chocolate haze. Chilla may have stolen this piece of paper he’s holding from another family at Hershey Park. Planning a trip to Hershey Park? There’s a layer of wifi – and it’s interactive to their digital map! Dear Kennywood – take some cues from Hershey Park, please. It’ll make user experience so much better. Chilla feels the Hershey Park experience makes it worth another trip. James is sharing Full Quiet as his Awesome Thing of the Week. We’re talking some game development with our game developer, James Deighan. As a secondary Awesome Thing of the Week, James is talking some Log Jammers. Sorg is literally playing with his Awesome Thing of the Week (thanks to Looking for Group) Restream.io. It seems like everyone has a Back to School sale – even tech companies that don’t have much to do with school? Shout out to Amanda for inviting us out to the mall for some super special Apple stuff this past weekend. Sorg is sharing home automation updates with Chilla. Talk about a turn of events. This episode has turned into an Apple Store experience discussion? We’re learning about the concept of trading pistachio shells for Apple products. Chilla is sharing his travel tips about taking extra tech. Where’s Waldo meets 3D? Pittsburgh has the COOLEST mural: Magneto (wait for it) at a metal scrap yard! There’s an Apple Watch controversy with the Red Sox? Remember when the biggest concern with watches was when you could use your watch calculator on a test? Screaming like a super saiyan is apparently a thing that happened on the internet? A kid’s being paid a $150K salary to play video games? 0.o After the show remember to: Eat at Slice on Broadway (@Pgh_Slice) if you are in the Pittsburgh area! It is Awesome!
